Yeah, it gave me an error message about there not being an appropriate Optifine version. I downloaded that before I downloaded CurseForge yesterday. I also followed every guide on how to add OptiFine to my Modpack on CurseForge. That worked. So I moved to the controller compatibility.

I'll check there next if you don't think you can help me with this. Thank you for finding that. I clearly missed that they had a Discord.

The procedure is simple:

ive been trying to get a private create: above and beyond server going but neither the server file zip or the installer provides a working .bat file. I made one on my own using the suggested commands from the create:a&b github (changing it to match the current jar version) but cmd just kinda pops up, drops a few lines and then closes (unless i add pause to the .bat). i didnt know if i should ask here or if i need to somehow contact the modpack creator for help

I don't know if it's a CurseForge problem or a mod problem, but I've been having some weird issues with Minecraft lately. For starters the fences don't connect the way they're suppose to. As seen in this screenshot:

curseforge makes a website for file hosting and an an app for launching modded content. it doesn't write the content - your issue is either MC version, the modloader, mods, or shaders you are using

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...
Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.
  1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
  2. Click the CFmenu button next to play.
  3. Click CFexportExport.
  4. Select the files that should be included.
  5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!
Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

  1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
  2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
  3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
  4. Click the CFmenu button next to play.
  5. Click CFexportExport.
  6. Select the files that should be included.
  7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
  8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

Is there a way to force the curseforge app to "detect" minecraft? I'm running the curseforge appimage on Linux Mint, and it won't detect minecraft on it's own. But I don't want to launch minecraft from the app, I just want to download modpacks only available in the app so that I can copy the files elsewhere. Is there a way to access the minecraft modpacks without it detecting minecraft?

The cf app uses its own copy of the minecraft launcher. It doesnt use the one from the .minecraft folder

Using Curseforge has nothing to do with how mods work, so we can eliminate that as an issue right away.
Further, you've not explained what about it is not working correctly. What other differences are there to what you've done in vanilla with forge, and the profile you have on Curseforge?
