Hey when is Curseforge going to stop ruining all the competitors applications? Like Wowup Ajour and the likes.
I dont want to ruin my performance and integrity with Curseforge-stuff or get overlays I cant disable, I prefer the more lightweight alternatives.
But Curseforge actively works to block any competitor on the market and trying to get monopoly on the addon-manager scene.

Well.. if the mod author decides to not allow 3rd party mod manager to download, it's not Overwolf fault. It's the mod author that decides that, and by default for all current addons, it's set to allow downloads through 3rd party mod managers.

Remove the recipe for the brewing stand, and edit the villager houses to not have brewing stands/replace them with that mods stuff. (this does have a side effect of making clerics almost unobtainable, and unusable if you do get one)

not really, you have to do trial and error to know for sure. if you plan to run higher res texture packs and shaders you will likely need to allocate more ram than normal. hopefully you have 24gb or more so that you have room to allocate enough.

It allows people who do not know any coding to make mods.
It has also got a terrible reputation in the modding community, as the mods it makes are either simple copies (ie "emerald tools" mods, almost like you are suggesting a template for), or an incredible lagfest because the code this program makes is terrible.
That is part of the reason we dont like your suggestion, we have seen stuff like it before and it doesnt work out well.

random question, i like goals. what would be a "good" number of downloads for a month for a mod. just in general. 100? 1000? 10 k? like what do the most popular ones in games (any game) get.
i can kinda do the math on the crazy popular ones but they have been around sooooo long. its hard to get perspective
i look at things like minecraft bedrock and compare it to things java or WoW and its just apples and oranges too. hence the like general question

Minecraft mods tend to see more downloads due to modpacks.

i've really really been enjoying the challenge of making bedrock mods. i was doing java ones for a while but there is SOOOOOooo much out there it was like screaming over a crowd. and people know what they want and it's usually not my stuff... but bedrock... it's like i'm the only person in the park. but also ... most downloaded i see on the popularity only has 18k downloads... so i'm like is that even good
(i realize bedrocks biggest problem is competeing with marketplace where 99% of the people get their download content.)

The problem is surfacing. Mods that are one and done do poorly because there's no surfacing of mods to users outside of search and a handful of sort options that 90% of them benefit mods that are larger.
If you make a mod and update it every week on Friday for example you are going to increase your exposure for that mod by a massive margin.
