How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

How to install modpacks with the search features in app.

Open the Minecraft section of the app.
Click the top search bar where it says Search for modpacks OR Click the Browse Modpacks Tab.

Once finished, click Play!

How to install modpacks from a Export. (Custom/Private/Site downloaded Modpack zip)

Get CurseForge App if you don't have it, use !download for a link.
Get the exported modpack from CurseForge or someone else, !mc-packshare explains how to make them.
Open the Minecraft section of the app.
Click Create Custom Profile
Click the Import option.

It's easier when you search for mods in the app, since you have to create either a Forge or a Fabric profile, then the mods will be automatically filtered to what modloader they use/support.

Change your install path to the following:

For Windows: C:\CurseForge

Select the Advanced option and pick the folder you just made.

Get CurseForge App if you don't have it, use !download for a link.
Get the exported modpack from CurseForge or someone else, !mc-packshare explains how to make them.
Open the Minecraft section of the app.
Click Create Custom Profile
Click the Import option.
Find the file you just downloaded in step 2 and select it.

How to install mods in CurseForge App.

Click + Create Custom Profile
Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the Forge version (usually the highest number), click Create.

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
Run the server again.
Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

1.14 for vanilla was pretty broken and 1.17 indeed was very much like that when it released. A lot of bugs and stability issues

1.18 is really the bit that should be worth while as it completes the whole mountain biome world gen change and such .

Which very early on they did call it 1.17 part 2 but mojang purposely edited their own FAQ to hide the fact they did call it that at the start

Yeah our semi vanilla server is happily staying on 16.5 . till we test 1.18 for all the plugins to be working correctly and all that.

obviously 1.18 will be a full fresh map so it’s not a mixture of 16.5 terrain vs massive mountains chunks of 1.18 .

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

Click the Icon for the modpack.
Click the button next to play.

Select the files that should be included.

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

I’ve been using worldedit for a long time and it saves so much time. when making a new spawn for a new “season” which we do either once a year or twice . Depending on what’s going on with mc with it’s updates

It can be funny though when trying to teach folk . as one person tried to accidentally make a huge cube of many tnt (over 1million of them) which did not make the server crash but the server thrown the person out and wouldn’t let them back in . Was like the server had feelings and was purposely annoyed at them

ive followed the steps in the windows defender page linked. ive done the CMD force clear and update thing. ive rebooted and redownloaded the update several times. either its not actually fixed or its a legit compromised database. i know you guys take security very seriously. heck, even a mod that had troll content targeting a specific player was removed and the users account banned/removed (was one of the tinkers material addons. broke a LOT of packs in 1.12). i know you all are probably still working hard to fix it but given the nature of the issue and the potential risks of even the slimmest chance its somehow not false or otherwise risking ignoring it this time and windows then ignoring similar legitimate threats i hope a full fix is sorted out soon. im sure you will bit please do let us all know when the issue has been 100% resolved

I have no idea what windows does. You can manually submit the file to them somehow to be rechecked. Don't know how to do that either tbh.

How to add/remove mods in a modpack.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click on the button next to the Play button.
Click on Profile Options.
Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

I don't think AE2 has in-game docs by default, check the quests to see if a quest line is set up to guide you through the mod
