a super common solution to the 'nothing happens' problem is the mc-install fix. do not reinstall curseforge - it will have the same issues apparently. just do what the below says:

Click on the icon in the bottom left.
Click the Minecraft Tab.
Click Change next to the Minecraft Modding Folder Option.
Select the folder named Install.
Delete it.
Restart CurseForge App.
It will ask to install MC again, do so.
Play game.

NOTE: You will not lose any modpacks or worlds, These are saved in the Instances folder. DO NOT TOUCH THIS FOLDER OR YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING

I would like some opinions about having a word blacklist for your projects comment section. When i scroll down on some projects and read the comments, i get a little seizure from all the: "update plzzzz", "1.16.4 now?" comments. And they overshadow real comments aswell. While i think we all can agree that nothing of value would get lost blacklisting these kinda words to stop them. But it would lose some value if it turned the comments completely off.

Here me out, curseforge should add a way to share modpacks (that aren't approve) that will just be make unoffical and have some type of warning. I would love to be able to just share my modpack to my friend on the launcher so they don't gotta have to find everymod for themselves on the launcher. This would be sooo useful for people who are just making modpacks for small server for there friends

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

Click the Icon for the modpack.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

It's strange because the CF website shows everything but the API doesn't return the release. E.g. curl 'https://addons-ecs.forgesvc.net/api/v2/addon/7950' | python3 -mjson.tool | grep '"displayName": "v3.120"' is blank.

i'm saying curseforge mods are fairly 'safe' to download. there are some sketchy website out there - CF is a large repository of minecraft mods and any sketchy things that people may add get quickly removed. you can get them manually like that or use a launcher program to auto-get them with their own search functions

Click + Create Custom Profile
Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the Forge version (usually the highest number), click Create.

Hello, I was wondering if someone knew of an up to date version of Davincis Vessels and ViesCraft - Airships? It has been a few years since I last played minecraft and a friend of mine wanted me to start playing again and they were some mods I had at the time but they have not been updated for 1.16 I am open to alternatives.

Sync and your Project.

CurseForge REQUIRE a project to have one file marked Released on them for the projects to show up in search. Otherwise only Direct links to the project work.

Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

uhm, so I uploaded a new file (1.3) and it still said "processing" then I refreshed the page, and it's no longer in the list.. does this just mean it's not visible because it's getting processed?

How to install mods in CurseForge App.

Click + Create Custom Profile
Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the Forge version (usually the highest number), click Create.
Click the profile icon.
Click Add New Content
Search and install the desired mods.
Start the game!

How to install mods not on CurseForge.

Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
Click Open Folder.
Drag the mod(s) into the mods folder. (Note: Some mods will require others, to run. Make sure to read the instructions for the mod!)
Start the game!

Hey so I logged back into SkyFactory 3 server and the enderman farm tethers didn’t keep the endermen in the farm and so now my server is crazy lagged because of the increase spawn of them, is there anyway to reset the server to fix the lag?

Missing Java Fix!

Click on the icon in the bottom left.
Click the Minecraft Tab.
Click Change next to the Minecraft Modding Folder Option.
Right click the folder named Install.
Select Open in new window.
Double click the minecraft.exe.
Close the Launcher once it's done loading.
Restart Overwolf & CurseForge or the computer.
Play game!

If the above doesn't work....

Install Java using the installer from here: https://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

Click the Icon for the modpack.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)
