to play a modpack using forge:

#

go to minecraft mods, then browse modpacks, click the orange install once you find a modpack you like

#

it will install the mod pack, then click orange play which will launch the minecraft launcher. click the green play/launch (i forget what its named) and it will run the modpack

So are 1.16.5 Forge Server Files not approvable? Getting my server files rejected because of the "libraries" folder which works for 1.16.4 not 1.16.5- i remember this was also the case on 1.16.4 when it was released aswell. Might just take while for them to be accepted by the system? 🤔

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
Run the server again.

be that as it may ive had nothing but problems eversince getting the new launcher simply trying to play a modpack was far to much trouble deleting the isntall folder everytime then reisntalling then still havinga chance to not be able to log in ror be stuck on the game launcher with out a play button

How to install modpacks with the search features in app.

Open the Minecraft section of the app.
Click the top search bar where it says Search for modpacks OR Click the Browse Modpacks Tab.
Find the Modpack you want to install and click install on it.
Wait for CurseForge app to download and unpack all the required files.
Once finished, click Play!

How to install modpacks from a Export. (Custom/Private/Site downloaded Modpack zip)

Get CurseForge App if you don't have it, use !download for a link.
Get the exported modpack from CurseForge or someone else, !mc-packshare explains how to make them.
Open the Minecraft section of the app.
Click Create Custom Profile
Click the Import option.
Find the file you just downloaded in step 2 and select it.
CurseForge app will now attempt to download and unpack the modpack. If it fails, try steps 4-6 again.
Once finished, click Play!

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

Click the Icon for the modpack.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

How to install mods in CurseForge App.

Click + Create Custom Profile
Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the Forge version (usually the highest number), click Create.
Click the profile icon.
Click Add New Content
Search and install the desired mods.
Start the game!

How to install mods not on CurseForge.

Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
Click Open Folder.
Drag the mod(s) into the mods folder. (Note: Some mods will require others, to run. Make sure to read the instructions for the mod!)
Start the game!

Click Change next to the Minecraft Modding Folder Option.
Select the folder named Install.
Delete it.
Restart CurseForge App.
It will ask to install MC again, do so.
Play game.

NOTE: You will not lose any modpacks or worlds, These are saved in the Instances folder. DO NOT TOUCH THIS FOLDER OR YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING

I have no idea, their pages appear to indicate compatibility and the cloche will accept the items into it's inventory but there is no growth, I've waited for over five minutes

I can't think of what it may be, I have very few mods installed, Immersive engineering and immersive petroleum, mystical agriculture, applied energistics 2, biomes o plenty and a couple magic mods, I'll try removing immersive petroleum as that is the only mod that MIGHT be interfering but I have no idea why

If you are attempting to use the curseforge app, click on create custom profile, select the version of minecraft you wish to use and then select the most up to date forge version before naming the pack and clicking create, then enter that pack and click on the puzzle icon "add more content"

Ok, you've built a mod pack manually in normal minecraft, if you want to use curseforge you have to rebuild the pack installing the mods you want on the app

you never use regular minecraft to launch a game with mods. to launch with mods you use a mod loader system (like Forge) -which apps like the curseforge app automatically do for you when you create a custom profile.

let me explain this in a simple step-by-step process

I made a Modpack and i was having some exit code 0 issues so I was like okay let me fix this just re-found this pack randomly on my computer thankfully it hasn't deleted everything but what it did do is load mods that were not there

#

I don't have refined storage or Travelers boots installed yet in the launcher it says I do have them installed I delete them in the launcher it deletes another mod which is confusing because it shouldn't do that I load that mod in another instance outside of cusre Forge it's just that mod

#

mods can't be copied in the mods

#

so I deleted all of the ghosts mods to see what would happen

#

and it deleted the entire mods folder including the mods that weren't ghosts mods but it could still load everything

#

it basically assimilated into curseforge im very confused hurt and baffled

anyway, the app does have an issue where it "forgets" mods exist in the folder, only way to fix that currently is to make a new instance. never heard of it thinking the mods it had were other mods, but i assume that probably would have fixed it as well.

well I replace the mods with new ones and I wanted to see what was going on cuz I was trying to figure out the bug luckily it's stored most of them in a random folder on my computer what i dont get is why it has installed mods that aren't in the folder what fully load and when you delete them delete mods that have nothing to do with them?

hi, so I've been making a modpack lately and I have feedback about the curse app, I hope it would be useful:
-if you check a modpack when offline, the mod list will be empty, when you connect to internet and check again the list stays empty, although the mod folder has mods.
-when you browse for mods, sometimes you find mods that have both forge and fabric versions on the same mod page, but you only know that if you check the versions list, also I hope you separate fabric mods completly from from forge ones.
-the deeper you scroll when browsing for mods, the laggier the app becomes.
-sometimes when you update a mod, it gets removed from the mod list, and you'll most likely know that until you export the pack and find it in the overrides/mods folder.
-dependencies get removed automatically when the last dependant mods gets deleted, but in some cases it's still needed, for example there's a mod that requires Kube JS fabric, if I delete it the later gets deleted too, but I still want Kube JS for scripts.
-the screenshot tab of modpacks (maybe mods too) show all the pack's logos, the current one and the old ones.

quick slate hey, which modpack do you recommend to play chill with a friend

If you want to have fun for a long time then I recommend some questing modpacks like DD&SS. If you want something more chilled & relaxed then play something like Life in the Village.

Be mindful that DD&SS is a hefty pack and is recommended to run about 6GB on singleplayer and 8GB on multiplayer servers to run smoothly.

Click on the icon in the bottom left.
Click the Minecraft Tab.
Click Change next to the Minecraft Modding Folder Option.
Select the folder named Install.
Delete it.
Restart CurseForge App.
It will ask to install MC again, do so.
Play game.

NOTE: You will not lose any modpacks or worlds, These are saved in the Instances folder. DO NOT TOUCH THIS FOLDER OR YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING
