Theee are wt least two ways that I know of.
Neither of which I am qualified to walk you through on but a Google search may help.

• install the mod directly as an instance on the curseforge app and launch the game from said instance.

• research the old fashioned way of installing mods without a launcher and plug it into your world that way.
  Obviously with both you want to backup you data before making any changes just in case of accidents or corruptions.

It could also be that they put those QoL features in bedrock because then people would be forced to play the micro transaction version of the game, making it more likely people spend money on it. While on Java we have mods to freely add and remove whatever feature we want to pretty much while only spending money on a copy of the game instead of other things inside it
