Honestly I think it's a mix of many things. People found something in being trans, and that started so suddently and was so forgiven/from the outside for people that become a trend. Then people started to doubt & realize & accept their own identity (depending on how they felt about it), being gay/lesbian is also very similar -> Not that sexual orientation and identity are the same thing, but that feeling one way and having the whole thing becoming popular really help to switch the both

I think the LGBT & trans and furries movement exploded at the same time, and since that it wasn't as common in the past people started to talk about it and it has become popular.

Eventually people started to doubt about their own gender, and those who were already confused began to accept a new gender or sexual orientation and joined this movement. At one point some people who were not trans but had a no-straight sexual orientation also started to think about it and a lot of them also joined the trans, furries, and LGBT movement & community. Well anyway, my idea is that they send a kid named Brian and another kid named Alex to the Minecraft world and just tell them 'survive I guess lol', and they build a nether portal, and then an aether portal appears behind them and a voice from the above says something like "thanks for helping us discover the world you may go back' but Brian is like "nah", and he pushes Alex through the portal, lights a TNT and goes through himself. Then they basically beat the game and the scientists are like "ur literally heroes, we will give u money but pls come back bru" and Brian is like "no I like it here" but Alex manages to go through the aether portal back to home. Brian proceeded to commit terrible crimes that day, and after a few days Alex comes back to the Minecraft world with all the default Minecraft skins (friends) and they see what Brian's been up to and Brian traps them in bedrock. Then Alex is like "You were supposed to be a hero, Brian!" and Brian is like "Herobrian... I like that name." and he proceeds to leave them in a bedrock box. They manage to get out with an enderman but they never go back to the real world :(
