you could use like essential but not generally recommended when it comes to getting support from it, you could get a server via an online service or make your own but that might be tricky, there are a few free services online where you can get your own server to play with friends but that is generally laggy, paid ones are better but if you just wanna play with friends, using a free service such as aternos is as good as you're gonna get with that, essential is a mod you can just put in your pack just like that. there is probably a wiki on essential and one on aternos if you get stuck, but a moderator in this server has made a server host software with wiki but that might be harder to be able to play with friends.
