Not really. You need to unzip the file you downloaded, then you need to copy/cut the .bat and the two folders inside it and place them inside either a server pack from a pre-made modpack or you create your own mods folder inside a separate folder where you want the server to be in

Unless a popular well known game isnt coming directly from the developers site, there is a chance your about to screw over your pc. And other accounts on your pc

Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

:small_orange_diamond: Export and Share - For Friends / Small Groups

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

:small_blue_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

They are the same app, the one that uses the .minecraft folder uses the newer version, cf has a bit of an older version. They are 1 in the same tho. Both use Microsofts authentication servers,

Both will load minecraft from their respective folders/files. Curseforge doesnt touch the .minecraft folder and vice versa.

This is to stop the 2 apps from breaking eachothers folder paths

Meaning if you put mods in the .minecraft folder, curseforge wont see em. Same goes if you install mods using the curseforge app they wont show when you start minecraft from the .minecraft folder
