Ow app is more or less used as a dependancy for some apps, like the thunderstore, the devs use the ow app as a base to build their app off of the ow framework.

Curseforge app however has 2 options. The ow app version and the standalon version that doesnt rely on the ow app to function. The standalone tho has less supported games

In theory yes you should be able to have both the ow app and the standalone on the same pc, but at that point I would question why not just use the ow app version if your keeping the ow app installed.
