For example, let's say I want to set up an adventure, and the adventure requires a player to find a book in a chest with important information they need to complete the quest. Is it "possible" to make a server-side mod that can replace the book in the chest after it's found, so that other players who come across it later can find it and read it?

Hi all, I have issues where one of my modpacks has stopped working. I've been troubleshooting with the modpack owners and can't find why, and so i've come here to see if I can troubleshoot curseforge. It's definitely the one profile as other profiles work fine, but the game crashes when I click play in the minecraft launcher after opening from curseforge app. Can someone help direct me to where I can find a log file that has any error information

A switch just connects more devices on the same network. It does the stuff a router would do, minus the actual routing. By adding a router there you have technically made 2 separate networks and needlessly complicated it

Shit alright. Since I have a vr headset to play wirelessly I was told I would need a router basically solely dedicating a wireless connection to it. That's why I went for an additonal router, and it was also capable of supporting ethernet to my other devices which was also nice.

I don't even think I can port forward the main router because they moved the port forwarding to their garbage mobile app which i cant seem to log into.

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

This is my opinion: MCreator is a great tools as it opens the modding option for minecraft, even as a basic level, to anyone interested. I agree that in competitions it’s unfair if real devs and mcreator modders are rated togheter, but i see no issue in an only-mcreator competition.

ok so here's my opinion, in no specific order. I like the idea of getting more people to try out modding the game themselves, and using a platform that allows everyone to do stuff is great - usually. I'd just accept mcreator mods and be done. enforcing mcreator mods is.. "fine," yet kinda weird. if I start out with mcreator, I'm probably gonna stick to it. if I wanna learn real modding, I'm probably not gonan start with something tha doesn't even allow me to write code. they produce the same thing, just differently. one being easier also implies that more are going to use it, which allows more crap to be built - but also some great mods, no doubt. the level of entry is just way lower, which might cause a lot of submissions to be made in like 10 minutes or whatever. I got no issue with mcreator or cf, limiting the contest to mcreator only is a bit weird though.
tl;dr: limiting the jam to mcreator-only mods seems weird to me, and might return a lot of weird 10min submissions.

There is no licensing restrictions with MCreator. You do, however, use mojmap/mojang mappings, which technically speaking Mojang could turn around tomorrow and say that those mappings are proprietary and no one's allowed to use them. That's very, very unlikely to happen.

Most piracy launchers wont go into details about what your installing. Just that its "free" or "easy to use". The full extent of what some of these do is still being looked into.

"Free" versions of paid games that arent given away by the people that originally made them, can cost you more in repairs then the game cost to start with.

I did the math with a local pc shop, 30$ for mc, 50-80$ for indepth malware/ drive scans (or load backups if needed). That included work fees.

So my option would be, pay the 30$ 1 time fee. OR 110$ for my pc to be cleaned then buy the game.... does that really sound worth it?

Kinda one of those "try and see" things. The connector mod doesnt just allow forge and fabric to work together. It forces 2 modloaders that werent designed to work together in any way.... to work together.

Meaning your taking any/all issues from both modloaders and mashing them into 1 spot. Not all mods will loke this.
