Well mainly only three things (im just talking about the common main ones not things like cpu wear and tear) make computers slow down over time which are , viruses, storage wear and tear, and programs

In your case it sounds like you are using a hard drive as your storage for your computer, in this case (no offense) it sounds like you don’t know much about computers, it’d be a safe bet to have a friend you might know that is well versed in computers walk you through finding out if it is indeed a hard drive (95% chance thats it)

If it is then you might want to switch to an alternative storage method for your computer such as a solid state drive instead of a hard drive

Hard drives get slower over time and (in my opinion) should only be used for holding menial files such as pictures, documents, etc.

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

You could also use this community made tool for installing packs! Instructions are provided on the site.

heya all......trying to find a SMP map for agrarian skies 2 - saw it many years ago (Not Magi's harvest - I think it was the pre-runner to this.) Had a big empty building in the centre with 8 floating platforms around it, about 200 blocks away. You had to use a flying potion to get to your starting island from the central platform. I am exporting my modpack but it is like 20x bigger than it was last time when I exported it. I only added like 12-16 mods and they are all below 3k kbs. :/

What about the configs for those mods? Mods themselves get put in the manifest file. But configs, scripts and anything else other then mods, resourcepacks/shaders get added to the zip

Can open the zip as well, make sure what needs to be there is in the overrides folder.

And I have a music mod that is about 297k kbs and it does less.

Hello all, I recently got a fresh windows 10 install put in my PC and everything works fine until I download curseforge/overwolf. Once the download is finished, my whole PC freezes. No mouse, no keyboard, nothing. So I do a hard restart and then it keeps me at the BIOS page. Any ideas how I can stop the installer from killing my PC?

your pc will also cache dns servers as well, so the next time you try to connect to google it will go "Oh yeah, dns told me the ip, Ill try that first"

If it fails, it goes back to the dns server to ask again

MC handles ram differently then other games. Too little can have issues, but same goes for too much. As mc will literally try to use all the ram you give it and try to shove it all through 1 cpu core.

Instead of speeding up the game, it slows down the cpus processing by trying to process all the ram, used or unused.

This is not overly healthy for your CPU and RAM, as it would be the same as running a stress test, but on 1 cpu core...

Forge doesnt have a launcher. CurseForge use a copy of the official mc launcher from mojang.

But yes, you could move everything but you would need to manually install the modloaders.

Also do note the .minecraft folder was never designed with mods in mind. So it can only really handle 1 modded instance at a time.

Having more then 1 modded instance in the .minecraft folder can lead to mixing errors or version missmatch issues. CF app fixes this issue

Found out today, if on mobile if you turn it off, then accidentally swipe again (say if you wanted to scroll back up) it re-enables the ping.

1 user can post a new thread post once ever 7 days. You can post updates or hold convos in the thread any time after creation. Just dont bump your thread with randomness

The lfg/promo area uses discord forums channel feature. Meaning instead of typing a normal message (like in this room) you create a thread for that post. Think of it like its own bubble thats only related to what you want it to be.

So in our case, we ask users to make a new thread once every 7 days. Can post updates in your thread whenever tho.

This helps cut down on spam posts. As discord has a cool down of only 6h.

Last lfg room we had. Users would just spam post every 6h. Vs updating their bubble. Was basically a spam room.
