Not that I particularly like the idea of going to yet another page to find all the versions. With the new one, though I know it's in beta and all, it doesn't even seem like there's a way to see alpha versions at all

well i'm somewhat annoyed by that fact alone, but what really bugs me about this is that they did this while they still haven't finished the standalone client, like the overwolf client for curseforge is bloated to begin with due to overwolf itself and it doesn't work on anything except windows

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

For a mod to show up in the app:

• Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE or BETA
• Projects MUST be APPROVED

• Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
• Projects CAN'T be ABANDONED

Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

Hello. So I'm new to modding games, in general, and I have a few questions. Not sure if this is the right channel, so I apologize for that. I was thinking that maybe this should go in the support channel but I'm not sure since it isn't an issue I'm having per se. just questions.

Why do some mod versions break when a game is updated amd some don't? IE, minecraft. If i have a 1.18 mod thats compatible/works in 1.19 and another that doesn't, what exactly makes it that way? Is it just how the mod/game update is set up? Or is it more complicated than that?

Reason I ask is because I found a few mods I want to use but the curseforge app won't allow me to mix mods from different versions, so i just wanted to get an understanding as to why. Like, I get that it can break easily, but I'd like to learn about it a bit more if that makes sense.

Parts of Minecrafts code changes between versions. Each mod uses different bits of Minecrafts code, so if all the code one mod uses doesnt change between 1.18 and 1.19 then it will still work, but if even one piece of that code changes, the mod breaks.

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.

5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)
