The cf app only syncs files for the game wow. For minecraft you need to manually transfer the game data between pcs. USB stick, file share program,etc.

The problem I assume is that CF injects jvm args into the client, which is the root cause of this issue from the sound of it.

So it should be reproducible with the vanilla client simply by inputting args.

So my friend came to me for help after Curseforge wasn't loading. I tried guiding him through the process and it was doing crazy things that I had never seen Curseforge do before. After about an hour of trying to guide him through it with no success, I give up and come to the conclusion that it's probably just the fact that it's running on a macbook from 2012 and must be glitching or broken on such old hardware. And then I notice what file he was running. He had been running the in installer EVERY TIME HE TRIED OPENING CURSEFORGE. To be honest I'm kind of amazed it even ran at all. Also came to find out later that he has 11 instillations of the Minecraft launcher because he would re-install it any time I tried getting him to install a mod and never removed old or failed attempts.

I know it depend on many factors like hardware and mod optimisation but i'm just asking for a rough idea

As you've already deduced, there is no magic number of mods. Also how do you define heavy?

You could fill a pack with 200 mods that do essentially nothing and their effect would be negligible. Or you could have 20 large content mods and it might require significant ram/cpu requirements.

Hm.. then, how would you rate "content" changes made to the game, resource intensive-wise ?

Does new entities require more resources than a new dimension ?

a dimension on it's own usually doesnt require any extra resources. dimensions are not loaded unless used. the impact after loading completely depends on what's happening inside.
The worst offender for resource requirements is anything that adds an AI. Vanilla AI already is CPU taxing, and most modded ones are worse.
For RAM, anything that adds textures increases your ram requirements, as well as loading times.

There is much more to it than just that. All really depends on how well, or not well, the mod is coded.

Hey so my boyfriend and I play Skyfactory 4 too, and recently there was a glitch with the overall curseforge, we lost some progress on our world that was easily gotten back but the server was just glitchy. That may explain the prestige issue with you, it may have been a glitch within the game due to a small glitch with curse forge

You could, but we don't particularly like that mod (it downloads most of its code, auto updates, and has a 3-4 stage loading process, instead of other mods with 1)

Go into the settings for CurseForge (cogwheel, lower left), then go to Minecraft , and then there should be an option a bit further down those options, maybe under Advanced or something (I don't have CF installed at work), and there should be something called "Java" (not arguments, the other one), do you have anything there?
