I tried Terratech; was evicerated by a machine with 50 guns on it within 10 minutes of playing, during the tutorial. Uninstalled it and refunded. If I can't take my time in a tutorial and be safe, I don't want to play the game.

Try Caveblazers, it's a very good singleplayer/local multiplayer game playable on PC and console. It's scope is to get through a few randomly generated caves to reach paradise without dying. There are multiple bosses, monsters, secrets and lots to discover. I never encountered so much hidden stuff in a game. Had very good background music and it's graphics are 8 bit and it looks super cool. You should try it (also, the game has so much stuff, that it isn't repetitive and it isn't that easy to be beaten in a few minutes. It takes months to master). It's a 10 dollar game.

it's not like very small but it's not like huge, I've talked about it a few times which is "Finnish Cottage simulator", still in early access until planned 2026, a nice life simulator about using a cottage within an association with many things to do such as using the sauna, making moonshine, cleaning out the outhouse, going to the store, physics based fishing, shooting/hunting, and many more.

(I have not played it, I have watched people play it and it looks very fun and cozy)

First game I think was on CD when I was 9 years old. Think it was called Freddi Fish or something. Click and point game which was really fun to me back then. I think if the exe files would work now I'd solve it in no time but some of these games aren't playable now

I tried to test out which CD games worked on windows 7 once and the one I wanted most to play didn't work while a few of them did

First Game I remember was probably some game where you build a vehicle out of lego parts (legs/wheels, base, something else). Just stupid fun.
After that, Cooking Fever probably. Because cooking fever is stressful fun cooking.

Roller Coaster Tycoon... I loved the fact that I could build my own theme park in the game... there wasn't much limitation other than money and property... Sure the maps were nowhere near as large as they are in games nowadays... but the ability to take crazy turns through tight places and go both above and underground made it amazing... And forcing customers and employees to be picked up and dropped in specific locations was always fun... especially when you could lock them in the park by simply removing the exit path...

Other than the old video games we played at the arcade, then moved to the Atari for awhile, card games or Carmen San Diego WAY back in the day, I have only played the Sims. From the beginning to now.
