Might fit better as a mod, but I figured I might mention it here first:

Some system (probably an add-on equipment?) to allow a VERY EXPENSIVE XASER request while on a dive. The request would be placed, there can be a timer of some kind waiting for approval, and if approved, monies are transferred to E' and a path 'OUT' is cleared via XASER.

Smallish chance that the request is denied naturally. Request denial if there are other vessels in the area. Etc

Not sure WHY this would need to be a thing, because we already come FULL STOP (0 dV(r)) to astrogate back to E'. Thought it was a neat idea. 😄

Imagine paying the GDP of a small country for a xaser shot and getting hit by it. NO REFUNDS. 🤣

That's part of the idea 🤣

There's a chance you get hit by it (think WWII artillery accuracy), there's a chance the request causes rep harm (if a base or something happens to be nearby), etc

Hm.
The main problem with this idea is that I don't really see justification for you doing it.

#

Safety protocol is already built-into the xaser. The warning lasers that shine around actually actively scan for transponder signatures and if they detect any, the main xaser immediately aborts for few minutes

actually, might be useful for if you need to astrogate and want to make sure theres a clear path for you

#

like, a mid-dive astrogation, not a "going home" one because yknow the second one is stationary

If you wanted a reason... 😆

#

Human error/laziness is and always will be a valid justification.

sometimes its a real pain to get the tragetory to align because of lots of asteroids

#

or even just a path to go deeper
