#Proposed small change to "Chonker"

Chonker is interesting idea, but slightly indistinct, and mostly ends up being annoying to use - the new excavator is big, but it being off-center makes it more of an annoyance than an asset and beyond that it's just a bog-standard Cothon.

Here I'm proposing small change - what if chonker was designed to be able to acommodate big payloads without arm, but still allow mounting one for added versatility?

  • right forward low stress is replaced by off-center high stress hardpoint (presumably connected to excavator ring for structural integrity), aligned with excavator if used with 🦾 (if used with NANI or EINAT you have funny recoil issues which make things more interesting, especially with Cothon's manoeuvrability).
  • mass penalty is added (locally reinforcing structure for high-stress + bigger excavator)
  • right rear low stress is stripped (balance + routing power to high stress) - alternatively left front low stress could be stripped instead, but that would probably make already not great vessel too fucky to use.

The result would be more visually interesting "quasimodo" lopsided vessel, that would be more distinct and potentially more attractive in gameplay (high-stress is good), but also not very strong (rear low stress is fairly limited in what it can mount and Cothon, especially weighted down, is still a bit of a brick).

BTW: I wonder if "Bender" could be made visually distinct. 🤔

The suggestion sounds interesting but should be considered as an new variant not a change or replacement.

Generally i do not think changing or replacing existing variants is a great idea - every variant adds something, even if it's just a lore of having some less useful "failed" modification attempts.
And i think the Chonker is OK as it is (given that it is a Cothon, the expectations are low anyway).
