There should be some way of setting what the ship computer sees as a threat. as current UIO's and ships that fire on you are seen as hostile. A setting in the tuning menu to exclude UIO's or even all ships from being automatically set as hostile would make more passive mining styles more feasible while allies with GA

Alternatively a way to set how hostile a ship is before a point defence will try to fire on it through the tuning menu

wasnt entirely sure what tag to use, that would probably fit better

since astrogators handle identifying ships it wouldn’t be unreasonable to have them remember previously identified ships and maybe what IFF slider setting you put them on.

Maybe a little line from the crew if you’ve made a wingman deal?

how often do you bump into the same GA ship?
would certainly be useful for the uniquecontacts if it remembered what you set them as

Ik they don’t have transponders but how do they stay in touch with eachother and coordinate?

#

Maybe some kind of LiDAR tightbeam that you have to register yourself as friendly to GA instead of the broadcasted transponders required by Enceladus, like the ||GA station’s network that requires being considered as friendly?||

so if you are friends with the ||GA station|| pirate ship tags are always visible?
then the ship computer wont see them as hostile since they arent a UIO
