Give the ship a unique pair of arms, standard gripping arm but have the second arm being a drill/grinder arm. as two grabber arms seems inefficient, particularly with how hard a time they have in feeding resources into the cargo hold.
Another idea would be the option to replace the the cargo barrel with a repair point and change the grabber arms to repairs. Ships in the belt could send out SOS calls and the player could move in, repair their ships for a fee, either energy credits or resources and depending on the notoriety of the player, he could get bonus payments if he's on good terms withe the faction.
I would also recommend adjusting the MPU so that the processing section is at a more obtuse angle as getting ore into it very finicky.
