- Chunks that go far enough into the bay to hit the back wall in the MPU processing area should be considered as "caught" by the MPU machinery and stay held in place until they are processed.
- The higher-end MPUs (Nakamura and up) should get just a little help getting chunks through the "bottleneck" part into the processing area. Perhaps some implied "pushers" or "grabbers" on the sides to pull chunks through and prevent them from getting stuck juuuust outside processing range.

@ 2 Yeah even now on earth they can make funnels with moving walls and rock crushers that will never get stuck on their rocks.
Gravity makes funnels work. Without it, they tend to deflect stuff back out, like a retroreflector.
And the main technical issue with stuff that actively moves inside the bay is that it can mess up the physics engine badly. Creating unresolvable states and ghost forces.
