A helpful Discord member told me to put my game logs in a zip and post it here. I hope it helps, if there even was a bug present.

I think I need a bit more information about the event. Logs don't actually show what transpired in such detail.

#

On the first glance this looks like you did not conform to their docking instructions.

If it helps, here's the chat where that report came from: #delta-v message

I did indeed not conform to their instructions. I approached them slowly instead of sitting still. However i was sitting still at the time their docking arm grabbed me. But then it turned my ship (the starting ship, small enough) sideways as they were pulling it in and smashed it inside their dock.

did you get a docking permission?

restive plinth
#

yes. i told them i have a pirate capsule for them and they gave me docking permission.

#

"Acknowledged. Brace for docking. I suggest pointing your nose towards us and keeping cold blood. We are coming in." They gave me this reply.

misty granite
#

yes, looks like that

Soft side question, was the ARM damage model implemented on live yet?

misty granite
#

hm, but this might be a good thing to verify

Past the initial impact this might be related to the ARM taking damage from said initial impact and the following ones, which ofc would make the ARM not act right.

this can still happen in the current experimental version.

just had the BBW ram into me at full-burn while i was stationary braced for docking after they confirmed they were coming in.

OME brought me back up, but even after switching computer to friendly for them and the 2 hunters that followed me back from patrol, they all were orange and the bar kept dropping and is now red, but given i'm still alive after backing off post-transfer that's probably just my ship's comp and not that they are hostile now.

maybe the BBW should just have special arm with a ridiculously high strength against forces towards the BBW, because this seems like its happening to people unusually frequently lately

#

save-b, if that matters

misty granite
#

(as a side note, "current experimental" changes it's meaning about three times a day, so it doesn't really mean anything at all in a bug report - you were reporting for 0.622.0)

Ah

#

You were in the K44? Just want to make sure because im not sure which was active in the save anymore.

#

Other than that, I had 2 Vilcy follow me back from a combat patrol floating around, but that’s it

misty granite
#

Yes, I picked the ship straight from your save: k44 with gunny, cl200p, ome drones and a companion. Also matched thrust and propellant.

#

Hm, ships were following you while you were docking?

#

I wonder if that makes a difference...

#

I don't suppose you have a recording of that event, right?

rose ether
#

unfortunately no

#

but i should have the "record last 30 seconds" enabled, so if it happens again i'll try to grab it

#

given i keep seeing this or similar lately, i suspect it will

#

ah heck, i'll just start recording whenever i dock, i should have enough storage to get that long

rose ether
#

though i think every time its happened i've had ships following me, so that's probably a safe bet that its related

misty granite
#

vilcy?

misty granite
#

I just tried a setup where I had two ships following me during the docking sequence (no problems) and even one where fight broke out during docking (also no problems)

I think I'm missing a circumstance

rose ether
#

I’m not sure what’s different then

Honestly I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to find out it’s a hardware issue causing erroneous calculations for the BBW docking sequence, the dang thing’s died or nearly died on me a couple times already for various mostly hardware reasons, and the board probably didn’t get out untouched when the battery poofed.

I’ll pull together my steam system report in case that info makes anything pop out in a minute
