#Gungir’s bigger brother

The Gungnir basically doesn't have recoil (to my memory), so even a bigger brother wouldn't require the high-stress save for maybe a bigger power connector. No, what you need is a bigger ship to mount it on. Already twin Gungnir give your ship massive Dumbo ears on anything you mount it on, the suspension of belief that you're able to compensate for the massive vertical weight imbalance would be shattered on anything smaller than the Titan.
fair point
I actually wanted the gunny to be high stress, with the size, weight, and leverage from its attachment point while under thrust as justification. We have little enough for the high-stress to do; the main difference it makes is whether a ship can salvage.
Well, that and the NANI; but the NANI is relatively niche in use. (Enough to be a consideration, though.)
could make the high stress point have a mining charge launcher
launches mining charges that land on the asteroid and detonate
