#Slay the spire 2

Seems like a lot of resting and not much upgrading?
that might be my fault, I told him to not feel bad using rest sites to heal instead of upgrading but I'm also at higher ascendencies and tend to really risk a lot of elites, I'll only upgrade if I'm good on HP or have a card thats super important thats worth risking the greed
I think that’s why he has so many upgraded body slams
Yeah, it's a shame that eating the egg is almost always the correct choice, because I like my buddy too.
Ah, yeah, four of those campfires are clones.
I don’t think I’ve ever used the clone ancient relic
It's really spiky. It's rare in the first place (you've got to roll the right ancient, and then get it offered), and then you need a card that's worth the trouble to give up both another offering and who knows how many campfires (and you have to be in a good enough position that you won't miss the immediate power boost of the other relic until you can hit a campfire or two)
It has like 50% lower drop rate than the other two offerings in its pool iirc
Oh, interesting! I was wondering if the ancient boons were weighted
The Squeeze
Whilst weakened even.
Osty cares not!
weaken this you fucking casual
I love Necrobinder builds that look like this
https://youtu.be/PBnn8hJ_r8A?t=33 obligatory post
this clip got kinda poplular on tumblr so I thought I might as well upload it here too.
this was from one of vinny's streams on twitch from a while ago
credit to Vinesauce: https://www.youtube.com/user/vinesauce
necro has some really godo starter cards, unleash can be relevant even in endgame in a way the other cards usually aren't
falling star is solid on regent and silent's remain relevant but unleash ca straight up be a major wincon in osty decks
then there's bash which
I would genuinly take a tremble in most circumstaces, and tremble isn't great
you know what would be a fun mod? multiplayer where you swap control of your characters in a circuit each floor
we accidentally oneshot turn 1 the deer
I love that dumping your strength in the fuckin toilet doesn’t affect softy at all
Clone Uprorar did not work, i died to Entomancer before getitng more htan 2 copies
rip
Wow, this is al oss streak nad ah alf
also, game, you can't give me Flak cannon as my random rare
and then in 7 floors, 3 fights, an elite, a shop AND the mindworm
not offer me a single status making card otehr than gunk up
yeah its annoying when you take a payoff rare with th eintent to fill out the stuff I need later and it never shows
Oh i did not take a payoff rare with that intent
I got given it as my random rare
tbh,, taking a payoff rare when you dont have anyhtign that it pays...off
is a bit foolish imho
good way to yeet a run
(now, a payoff uncommon that's different)
Mainly cos i htink the payoff uncommons might be overtuned right now >.>
You were there, all along, my guiding...corruption
thats a big deck,
didn't even need to use your blood potion as well
36? Nah
that's pretty srtandard going into Doormaker imho
Big is when you get past 40 imho
right door encourages larger decks to deal with their devour phase
typically I've just bit the bullet and exhasuted my best cards pulling the combo on that phase and either finished them on then or soon after
Yeah ,that's the way to do it
i dropped to one card left in doormaker
buuuuuuut it was an 0 cost Bodyslam that i played like 5 times that turn
so
you know
if you get too scared of using your best cards on him you'll end up loosing the race, and he has the damage and hp to take you out if you do anything but your absolute best
he hard counters hellraiser builds though, all three phases just wreck that combo
dang people are running much larger decks than I do and on difficulties far higher than I've gotten
in otherwords I should learn from this
Hellraiser tends to run him the fuck over
Like this one i thought i was fucking defad to him
(I cant rember why there's normaltiy in my deck there, i think ienver got a chance to remove it? Thogu h ithink i was also doing werid stuff like wishing it up)
had 10 hp, bad luck was still in my deck, etc
and then multiple pommel strikes and a perfected strike later
There was no more Doormaker
huh, really? each phase seems rough for hellraiser
eye prevents you from grabbing tons of cards through pommel strike or card draw effects
hands causes you to run out of mana before your turn starts and have to take a huge hit
mouth eats a lot of your cards and makes future turns harder since hellraiser is about consistent high damage each turn
Doormaker is a hard counter to inifinites
the can't draw more turn is an issue for sure
Though... it may actually still et your pommels work
because ethey're being played as you draw
and it only shuts off your draw after your draf phase
draw*
and... like, yeah, you eat a big hit on the energy phase, but... you're clad.
You should have hp for miles
who gives a shit about a b ig hit when you just ripped his hp bar apart?:
"I can kill you faster than you can kill me" is a very common, very reliable approach for Clad
there's a lot more draw power and exhaust support in StS2, you can run lots of cards and still see all the important combo pieces in your deck pretty regularly
Mhmm. In general, also, Value pile just thumps Doormaker pretty reliably
Value Pile just thumps everything right now currently
I kinda fuck with Value Pile being good tbh
don't make us do tricks on it and run a 7 card deck to win
yeah, i'm not oppose.d it's much better than Go Infinite or else
and while the monster train 2 "Find the broken thing, do the broken thing aggressively" can be pretty fun
also... eh
it lacks long term depth
tbf in act 3 the numbers get aggressive enough that your value pile has to talk to itself a little at least
you gotta be getting some kind of synergy
Axebots is basically ‘can you do 50 damage a turn’ and it’s often a hilariously easy encounter
Well, a value pile by dfefinton should ahve a bunch of syngergy
Farewell, sweet prince.
Test subject is having a very bad no good day 🙁
Flawless doormaker
Possibly the slowest deck ih ave ever played
Unga... and I cannot stress this enough... Bunga
If Claw is the Law then Big Rock is the Insta Lock
Big Rock
Huh.
no sleep no damage I got hands and you're gonna catch them
I got shared fate and Friendship so I got forearms smaller than a T-Rex but Osty's the one that claps back
It really is. Plus just being able to make a massive hand is really good at avoiding damage
After a couple of tries, Asc 6 on Regent is done.
I don't know if it's just how odd he is or the power level, but he feels harder than the rest of the roster
Vigor stacking is shockingly potent tho
now onto clearing Asc 7 with everyone 😌
(and by now I mean prolly tmr lmao)
They're someone I'm not fully comfortable with yet either, in large part because knowing how to balance star generation takes a bit of learning and consequently benefits mayhaps more than others from raw winrate statistics and similar on cards.
Overall though my rule of thumb is that if I get reflect and can consistently cast reflect, I have a good chance of winning.
Just take Summon Forth and Bulwhark and it’s gonna be awwww riiiight
yeah Reflect helps big time, though honestly with just how many Stars I've been generating between Glow, Hidden Cache and the two Big Bangs (and Royal Gamble once I got it), I didn't need it too badly? Though getting the transform any amount into Minion Blocks from the Skill Pot helped a ton in the final fight
Throw a Hegemony in there, maybe the one that gives you energy and a star and retain, get Orbit all up in it?
You’re cooking
Trade some Strikes for Forged in War, maybe some Defends for Gather Light, if you can play The Smith it’s fucken gravy
Sword Sage if you can
Seeking Edge also kinda nice
But Bulwhark and Summon Forth, thems the good ones
Playing your sword twice in one turn is real neat but you know what’s even better? Throwing Touch of Insanity on that thing
Hegemony and Convergence are both real nice yeah
Honestly there's a play to keeping your deck somewhat tight and then having 2 Hegemonies (if you can find them ofc) in the deck
Infinite energy bullshit
and then cycling them across 2 turns to do the damage equivalent of Charged Battery cycling
ye
Yippie
honestly one of the things that made me more satisfied with the Regent is realizing that HOLY SHIT do the transform cards let your deck suddenly become extremely small
If you have four of the cards that draw you 1 and create a star and then the card that turns stars into mana you could do an infinite with black hole
on top of making various curses less of an issue since you can treat them as transform fodder
Yeah and making debris is simple enough but you pay one energy and you gain 7 block, debris, transform, minion strike, draw one as a one mana two cost combo that’s a lot of stuff
I don't think you could get quite infinite there but two upgraded Glows get you there for a "free" 2/2 draw
No you keep one glow in the discard and just cycle them. Kinda like fusion -> skim -> fusion coolheaded -> fusion skim -> hotfix -> zap and just repeat that.
Not sure if still works but it was in the first alpha
Fun regent trick: Summon blade pulls from anywhere
anywhere includes your exhaust pile
idk if they changed this, but last time I did that, the forge resolved first
So it forges a new blade (cuz you exhaustes your blade) and then gives you back the exhausted one
Another fun thing was putting the punching dagger on an Anger
Because using the Anger makes a new one with the same enchantment, and all but the newly created get the +5 damage
So after a while you have a deck full of big damage angers
It still works, and it makes sense as that's how the effects are ordered
First defect victory, frost orb stall claw, no damage from the giant
:)
I hope Abrasive maintains the scrub daddy art, i love it so much
nice, just had a double abrasive deck that just kinda stalled enemies out
worked pretty well, actually managed to stall out the giant
normal gaming
Radiate is great
Now get it up to 42 times
That’s the goal
I ahve a stupid idea chat
Uproars plus expensive cost attacks, and then nothing but skills and powers
I've got two uproars and an ice lance
I'm trying to play my entire attack deck in one go
dang, lost a regent run, just didn't have the damage output to keep up with queen
this was very fun
Regent starmaxxing seems like it’s probably The Deck
this was more of a colourless attack spam deck that had stars for blocking
Regent has a lot of ways to go
Card creation regent is every bit as legit as starmaxxing or swordmaxxing
had a big hit build for ironclad that did great in act 1-2 but just didn't have the aoe for act 3 as well asgetting pulled in too many directions
should've stucktovuln focus
I'm also just not a fan of demon form, takes too much energy to get out and takes too long to ramp up to being worth it
Ahhh
Brimstone
Very nearly died to the queen, because 15x5 is Scary
But also
Goopy defends with Parrying shield and Unbreakable are also v. nice
goopy defends are great
They really are
i dunno if i was suppsoed to fight more elites there? i was P scared of Entomancer for obvious reasons
I mean you won at 10 so clearly you made the right choices
Well, i made some chocies that lead to a winning line
the quesiton is if there were otehr winning lines that would have gone better
I had diamond diadem and briliant scarf as my options
I wrote diadem off on grounds of it being really bad with Stampede
but possibly it was pretty good?
I wonder how character with a ‘large deck’ archetype could work
Stuff like ‘2 energy, deal damage equal to your deck size’ and stuff like that
Maybe access to positive statuses they can put in their deck that function as bonus relics
Was thinking about the ‘giant monster’ character concept and thought that big, both in hp and deck size, could be neat archetypes
Stealing feed and hacing moves that care about max hp
Mm... max hp as a core mehanic woudl be very broken, tbh
But "This character is all about big decks" is a fun concept
I've done it
i have the mythical Fiddle run
It turns out drawing 10 cards every turn is really good
Doormaker tripped and fell into a black hole, rip 🙁
Nice, that was a sweet, sweet run
Reading the Neowsletter, and
We won’t massively expand the size of the studio to finish the game faster. Exacting deadlines produce sloppy uninspired work and I don't want Sloppy Spire 2, I want Slay the Spire 2.
Did they need to call it Sloppy Spire 2?
Not an issue, I've just accepted that my sense of humour is bad.
This is spireslop, you only like it because you want to kill the architect
I understand your humour. I liked the Neowsletter for the “yo we will take our time” and the Q&A “there must be whimsy”
@patent geode On the subject of how much damage does Doormaker do
I present
and
Double flawless vs BRIMSTONE
Thank god you gained that 1 max hp.
I know, right?
also, i'm so mad
i learned something today
and it turned out that it ROBBED ME OF A WIN
diamond diadem starts counting after the start of your turn, so mayhem doesnt stop it working
so my 64 mayhem deck would have won
Does 64 mayhem play itself?
I don't know!
I think it plays my entire remaining deck, draws more, keeps playing them until it runs out of mayhem trigers
Or rather, whever didnt end up in my hand
Ah
It wasnt scary enough! it lost ;.;
Maybe you needed 128 mayhems
Nah, taking Diadem and 1 less clone would have won
256, final offer
Oh that's good to know
I knew the scholar event relic worked, but not Mayhem
Oh huh there’s another character planned
Watcher but again. Trust
Watcherer
The fact the uothet returning slayers were base suggests watcher is getting much more work if it is them
yeah, definitely a big rework. she's too good if you're really good, easy to die with if you're less experienced, and lends herself to too many infinites for how much they've been trying to get rid of those
I've been waiting for someone to mod her back in unchanged just to see how busted she is
I've made the mistake of looking at the STS2 reviews, nope not doing that again lmao
There was a review bomb recently right?
Yes, when the beta patch went live
Yeah, doesn't really mean too much.
They already did, there's a mod for it on nexus
Yeah it's basically the same story as the first beta patch, people unreasonably getting pissy about certain nerfs and the Doormaker change despite... just how much of a cakewalk that guy was in the og version and the good handful of nerfs the Elites got.
Just ye ole reactive pissyness, really... anywho, Momentum of Dismantle is crazy good damage scaling when you have One-Two Punch lol
run ss
Damn this run went rather fast as well
today's daily run is interesting
15 hemokinesis
these two modifiers together are very silly
what do you guys think of my deck?
Well, it seems energetic
if I can find the ice cream and an X card I'll be unstoppable
rags to riches
played with 3 more friends, zoned off on an event and ended up upgrading my whole deck by being at 1 max hp
and after dying 14 times per combat, got to 33 HP and BIG
i thought we'd be dying but we may survive
the queen never stood a chance
finished her with a 1500 dmg body slam
this was certainly a deck
18 uproars, 15 sunders
its a very interesting combo of modifiers
got a playthrough with the silent with 15 piercing wail
ahhhh yes the classic necrobinder deck
yes
what mods are you using?
no mods, just custom runs
if you combine Hoarder and Specialized, you get 15 copies of a specific card
and you can also toggle the option to get cards from other characters
unfortunatelly, spikes necrobinder died to the triangle guy
triangle guy is a big numbers fight
I had not enough hp
brand was originally a card I didn't think much of but now I think its reliable value that fits nicely into most decks
It really needs an upgrade imh
but it's solid
Discovery: Squeeze doesn't care where osty attacks are
just that you ahve them
which means sentry mode scales it
oh yeah I noticed that bolas and make it so come back from exhaust
between slay the spire and playing seven wonders with my family on board game night I'm realizing that while I've liked drafts, I REALY like drafts. What are some other neat rogelike deckbuilders out there?
Okay so this is sort of a deck builder? It is. It actually is but it's a strange form. Ever played Monster Train?
no, but have heard of it
There's a Monster Train 2
Go with that one, it's a really fun version
You can stack a bunch of mushroom fuckers intoa giant pile
Monster Train 2 if you like Big Number and doing silly broken things. StarVaders if you loved into the breach
Both are very good
OOOO
OOOOOUGH
MONKE MODE
just won a Doormaker fight I had absolutely no business winning
Feral Claws sure is a deck
once it's spooled up playing like 8 Claws in a turn sure hits like a train
Claw -> same Claw -> same Claw -> Claw -> Claw -> Tesla Coil -> Momentum Strike -> fuck you, All For One -> Claw x 3 Tesla Coil Momentum strike
No, that seems like a solid way to win doormaker
like when your claws bounce back even from exhaust (Because Feral just says they return to hand, it doenst actually care where tehy landed)
and you can use them to do big damageo n the 0 turn
and 107 max hp is a good way to win
Meanwhile, flawless queen
Okay
so
rationally
the correct choice is Solar Strike
but what if i took Second Royal Gamble on floor 3 with Comet already in my deck!?
this can't possibly be bad chat.
\
this is so stupid
Blegh, wiped out in act 3. I think i failed to pritoize removes like in eeded to and just kinda tanked the deck that way =/
it seems that innate cards pile up all together, so if you have more than your initial draw it'll go over that, and next turn when you draw again you'll get the remaining innate cards
got this + unceasing top
there were like 3 fights that made it past turn 1
15 assassinates does seem rather good
Ah yes, the completely normal Necrobinder deck
Just a very normal double flawless necrobidner deck
nothign to see here.
Except for this floor, this floor was somehow THE WORST
Me: I really need to remove cards. Also me: Immeidatley biuys bread
That was just like the worst draw order
I finally got to try co-op last night. super goofy fun. turns out that defect loves getting Jackpot from Neow, especially when you've got an ironclad giving out vulnerable and a silent with Flanking
in one run I had an unceasing top deck that, in better circumstances, feels like it could've gone infinite. but between misjudging some ancient rewards (removing cards? good! soot with no way to remove it? bad, actually) and some questionable card picks it was mostly just taking lots of game actions until I bricked on a status or curse.
The patch this guide is written for is updated in the title, keep that in mind if some balance changes happen This character already wins every run please stop being so bad that he gets buffed every patch ty I will assume you already know common Spire mechanics like advanced hallways or potion ...
This is a fun read
Guy is pretty good
This character already wins every run please stop being so bad that he gets buffed every patch ty
first world streamer problems
I will assume you already know common Spire mechanics like advanced hallways or potion chance
...okay, apparently I don't know common spire mechanics like potion chance. Is there more to that than "potions are uncommon drops from normal fights"?
I'm guessing it's this? https://www.reddit.com/r/slaythespire/s/beNjNin1Na
So far it seems like a good guide, but this is also who A20 Heart exists for.
I'm not sure if it's a particularly hot take to say that Regent rn has the highest skill floor and seemingly skill ceiling due to the star mechanic.
yeah. it's interesting reading for sure ("stars are hard because they're draw order dependent" is an obvious statement that I hadn't articulated yet), partially because of how his advice differs from other good players (the asc10 club here, other expert streamers)
really surprised at how high he is on card creation, that's always felt to me like a gimmick build. (partially because I'd convinced myself that minion transforms didn't trigger pillar et al)
Buddy straight up doing the xkcd geologist meme
All this is common nature to us experts, but we must understand that the average player probably only knows about advanced hallways and potion chance
do kinda wish the game made the easy vs hard hallway fights a bit clearer
It's all common, including the advanced stuff
I'm card creation's number one fan, but that may be in part because I like not thinking long term what my deck does
because it's actually a pretty big deal, but very hard to figure out from just the game itself
I can just get random stuff on hand and micromanage my way to victory
Yeah, quite a bit of the game is learned not from the game itself but rather community dialogue.
But that is also true for a lot, if not most, games nowadays.
So what does "advanced hallways" mean here
Easy vs hard fights? The first three hallway fights are from a pool of easy encounters, everything after that is from a pool of hard encounters
Some of which feel especially punishing in act 1
Card creation is crazy strong
First three in act 1, in act 2 & 3 it's only the first 2 afaik
Like he mentions in the guide, colorless cards are just very good. Charge, guards, Begone all provide care creation while thinning your deck. Supermassive is a very easy pay off that has ridiculous scaling
(anything that says do 30 for 1 is worth thinking about, and Supermassive can often ends up saying do 100+, before Vuln)
I've blown the Doormaker apart with a 400 damage supermassive before
Some of his evaluations I think are wrong or at least only relevant for bleeding edge skill, like silver crucible being unpickable on other characters
For 99% of the player base the boost of 3 upgraded cards in your first three fights is big
I don't like Crucible conceptually because it feels so unreliable
but I guess ultimately the chance that your first three card rewards entirely whiff are very low
Yeah, my attitude there is it you think it's unreliable, your drafting poorly. I don't think I've ever had a run with oh, these are all whiffs
There's always something worth taking
Also it's just fun, and I like how it changes your priorities
I just don't wanna lose a relic 😔
does anyone know how the duplicate your deck event works with bing bong
awesome...
but yeah XecnaR is the tippety top of StS2 players so take him with a grain of salt
pretty sure he has more time in StS1 than anyone else
Yup. I think it's interesting, and there's a lot there that's useful
But also he's obviously looking at it from a purely win maxing perspective
And it's also assuming very tight play
Calcify is good? I mean, it’s okay, it’s a really fast Strength alternative for Osty and Osty can attack a lot of times each turn if you build into it
I find that big shell boss because it just spends a few turns then wipes out your attack and defend
and unless you have another way to damage it, which I struggle with with the regent, you just kinda get fucked
messy run but it pulled through
I'm been thinking about a giant monster/werewolf style ascender, inspired by the random thought that a giant monster using the benches of rest areas as a headrest would look adorable, and was thinking about mechanics they could have. A focus on big numbers, such as effects running off of maximum HP and deck sie, as well as giving temporary HP instead of block and running off of lost life from previous turns and giving themselves lots of sources of strenght/dex. Maybe some ability to recruit a minion from each area to represent a sort of 'boss' theme
I'm guessing the second boss fight will be replaced by the architect once that fight is finished
wonder what the next big update will be, probably either the next character or new act 2
I'd assume Architect fight will be something more involved to unlock, like the Heart in 1
You know
I am sort of annoyed atmyslef for reading that regent guide i linked
because i'e won my last two regent runs and it hasnt even been close using it's advice
(Well, okay, i nearly got eaten by Insaitable one, but ANYWAY)
Lavalgulin Matriach? She can be rough, but Forge can usually just run a train on her
since Big Sword doesn't really give a shit if it's lost 2 points of damage
also, IMMENSLY funny combo
Crash Landing with arsenal. Gain a bunch of strength because i created a bunch of debries
immediaelyty: GUARDS!!
Turn all the debries into minions, getting me all that strength again
As an aside, i did the Maf and it turns out my win rate is about 33% on everyone right now
so that's nice!
Stoke is a fun card
See, I ran three regent runs thinking about that advice and I just died horribly. So I guess I'm missing one of those basic lessons he talks about :p
Yeah, i honestly think the best thing to pay attention to in his write up isnt actually any of teh regent specific stuff
it's this bit "Q: I read the guide but I’m still losing a lot, what gives?
If you play fights terribly (most likely what’s happening), I can’t really help you. Imagine you start every run with a curse relic that just drains 5 hp every fight and occasionally drains 30, that’s what bad micro does"
WHich is likke, brutal, and it's really hard to teach good micro
(hells, it is by far my worst skill and part of why i do reload and replay fights to figure out what i coudl do better)
but... it's also just such a big deal
the lines you pick throguh a fight can literally be the diference between "died" and "Flawlessed the fight"
nd a lot of people don't really learn good micro because they just brute force stuff until tehy hit The Run
(Whcih is also why i think people underestiamte stuff like Stoke or other card creation engines, since those rely heavily on your micro)
and conversly, it's why players like myself tend to rate them high (even though my micro isnt great), because "Have more options" is basically never bad.
Even if the option is "i'm not using any of these" that is still more options than you had prior to making the cards
and in the case of stuff like Crossbow or Splash, it's literally free damage.
(Which is before you get into shennagins like Splash -> Mangle -> Laugh in Necrobinder!?)
(srsly yall, if you see a splash and it's like, not act 2, you should seriously be considering taking and buying it asap. it can literally be build around win you the game good)
Like one hilarious thing Splash will do on non-regent characters? Give you Supermassive.
...whcih retroactively scales for all the other cards you've splashed in the battle.
Anyway. Best advice I've seen for micro is just... Slow your play down. Take a moment, take a breather
Nice. I wish monarchs gaze was good. It should be good! But it's so expensive to get into play
And then when it's in play, if you're multi attacking enough to use it as your primary defense, everything's dead anyway
It feels like it'd be nice with a shiv build, but even then it's quite expensive.
Plus, y'know, regent doesn't have shivs
where monarchs gaze really shines imo is multiplayer
monarch's gaze + radiate worked pretty well, the problem was getting radiate to hit on the turns when I got it
got two pretty good runs today but fell short on the final boss
The things with radiate is it's probably warping your deck to be The Radiate Turn which just wins, and then MG is just making your ability to combo out more unreliable
Like objectively, is effect is incredibly strong - it's after image that's more focused, but with a higher top end
The problem is MG costs 3 (and while Alignment is powerful, your ability to get it + alignment on the same turn is limited)
And even when it's in play, it only does things when you're attacking, which can conflict with various strategies
I am immortal
totally normal build
niiice
got an End of Days as my Neow reward just now, and it turned into a nice run
killed Doorman with a 200 Doom Time's Up
Congrats!
new Door felt pretty manageable, but I also had a pretty strong deck
had a thought just now
if Ironclad got another unique starting card to replace the extra Strike he gets, what do you think it should be?
Another strike
I'd like to see him great a new one yea, probably something that fits into his other archetypes like exhaust, self damage or strenght
morrigan, dudley, cody, and menat is the roster I would picl for a dlc season
I assume that borrowed time is not nearly as good?
as good as what?
it's no longer a free infinite with card draw, but it plays well with expensive cards (x cost cards don't even care about the cost increase)
it's a good card to play more expensive stuff, yeah
and even with 1 cost cards, you get like two extra energy effectively
In certain cases it's even better since Danse Macabre suddenly triggers on all the cards that'd normally be 1 cost
though don't take Danse Macabre even with it imo cuz uh
that power is kinda rough ngl
well, okay slightly less actually since it costs 1 to play itself
you still get an easy use of 3 different 1 cost cards tbf
basically gives you two extra
it's still almost always useful to play, yeah
and moreso if you got X cards
great with Dirge and Eradicate
Iron Wave
Ethereal: gain two temp strength, next turn loose two temp strength (which is to say in total -2 since the temp wears off) (ethereal so that it’s either played or squandered)
Flex but Ethereal?
Yes hoping between channels and got confused
Sorry about that
Woukd work and make that card usable
Iron Wave is okay
Itd be a good bridge for the two simplest ironclad archetypes of "violence and killing and murder and death and bloodshed and stabbing and-"
And of course
Exactly
It helps early where clad struggles but won’t massively improve their power later
Oh huh that'd be the perfect fit
Not too powerful, defensive whilst still playing into the offense of the character, and nice for the early game.
It would also remove it from the normal card pool so it's perfect
Dance is really strong. You're underestimating the value it provides
I've tried using it, without Burrowed Time or shoehorning the cost with Friendship and the like it's just not sustainable to mitigate your card draw with it.
If it did a bit more then maybe, but outside of that I've been fine enough with digging into it whenever I get Helm since it's been a rarely common drop as far as Rares go.
Literally overlocked defect to death is funny tho
I got owned once by getting swallowed by a Doomed Insatiable
Fucker was like a hundred HP in debt and killed me anyways
I love Splash ❤️
You gave Neow a real mission that day
neow deserves it
give me better starting relics you damn whale
I don't want your silver crucible
I regret to inform everyone that Doormaker catestrophically self-owned again
Damn, died otthe queen
100 max hp and a lizard tail, but my output was just too slow
That sucks!
Oh well 🙂
i got so close to beating doormaker on the current daily
had him on 16 hp
but i filled my deck up with too many status cards and couldn't get rid of them
killed 9 elites this run
I was playing 0-cost and then fuckin' Ice Cream, Candelabra and Happy Flower? all showed up
so I also took a Multicast/Helix Drill wincon lol, just in case
0 cost is very strong
the thing about forcing archetypes is you can't cast everything in your hand normally, so you are forced to split your energy between whatever you drew and pray you can draw into stuff that works together and play it over and over to get value out of a synergetic archetype right
but with 0-cost none of that shit matters, you can just play 0-cost whenever you want and if you don't draw into the good shit for it you're not exactly weeping and moaning
it's almost the inverse of Forge, which is worthless even when combined with itself unless you have Sovereign Sword in your hand, and the moment you play the sword if you haven't won your Forge becomes useless again until it's back in hand
normal turns
won by picking weird bullshit cards that aren't stable or sensible at all
the defect's archetypes are super modular with each other
trying an odd regent build
vigor and monologue building
with some multihits
plus "make it so" cycling from skills
I need to get myself a good multihit option that isn't Lunar Blast
It's my only one
but I do also have comet for when I've been stalling long enough for decent stars
i had a fuckin
Sealed Throne+/Starburst build earlier today that died tot he queen
because it drew everything all out of order 😔
bombardment is actually really funny...
"wow are you setting up a combo? That's so neat. Anyway, 24 damage each turn"
Ohhhhhh look at how vigorous I am~
Ha, managed to beat the new door man
it helps that his first turn he just let me discard bombardment and it just nailed him each turn
There’s definitely some fun weird interactions with decor
Like ashen strike build feeding him then smashing him for huge damage on an off turrn
I think it’s funny to feed Doormaker everything except a primed win condition and then go “whats up idiot hold this 11 energy Multicast into Feral Helix Drill”
My decision way back at the start to upgrade a Uproar with Punch Dagger let me win vs Doormaker
so that was cool!
Well, this seems like a great place to be ending act 1 from
Okay, ij usth ave to right?
absolutely
there are so few decks snecko is bad in
Actually, i don't think that's true, lol
There's a very solid argument that Runic Pyrmaaid was a much better choice here
buuuuuuut Snecko eye fun
Ironically, this would have been a lot better if i'd gotten a second hellraiser
It is much nicer when my Hellraiser is not on the bototm of my deck
Much nicer <.<
I need more ways to add innate
I built the engine let me go fast dammit stop stalling me out!
it'd probably be busted, but I'd love if there were more reliable ways to enchant something with retain or innate
They're rather conservative with card enchantments so far compared to other games, though it makes sense with StS being relatively conservative overall with its gameplay.
Conservative in that it's not about making your deck explode the way Vampire Crawler might.
They should let me enchant cards with an enchantment that removes enchantment limits so I can never have a good combo for it
Something I wonder about is whether the enchantment that removes exhaust also makes a card immune to being exhausted.
Have had the interaction come up, but didn't think to remember it.
Mmmmm... "enchant a skill with imbued"... but skills aren't the best thing to have right at the start
power? Sure, free power yum
but skill... ehhhh
I think they can get exhausted through other means
cuz it'd be the same as exhausitng a card that doesn't get exhausted when played
idk if it may do something at the door tho
Wouldn't surprise me even if I think it'd be cooler if that weren't the case
Mainly relevant for exhaust builds (ofc) as well as door.
put that enchant on the howl and never get to use it again
I find very interesting the exhaust-interacting mechanics, like the regent cards that can come back to your hand from the exhaust pile
Admittedly if you are putting the enchant on Howl, whatcha even doing.
I think that some stuff players should be allowed to brick themselves on.
replay 6 undeath
It'd make more sense to me if it played into her exhaust theme somehow, but making the copies ethereal might just be removing any downside
I guess if you have passive damage it promotes her turtling strategy?
it's reverse Anger, but I also don't really take Anger a lot
anger made sense as a damage common in 1, I know people say 2 is more rewarding of expensive attacks with stampede and thrash and such
I've found it to be a solid card overall if I just need defense on the cheap, plus it's nice against Doormaker.
You're not at that great of a risk of bricking yourself on it in practice, especially since block tends to be generally better to draw into than pure damage.
man rolling Heavenly Drill off the initial neow relic is neat
nice to have a strong regent direction to go
and then decimilli shows up.
That’s a hard one to get working but super strong if it does
i have Foregone Conclusion and Alignment+ thankfully, as well as some Refine Blade+ and Convergences
so i can stack up energy with my tea set and lantern and antler
i then had to duplicate my deck but it's fine, this is silly
fucking deci milli
The run survived and got a turn 3 win on the insatiable it was just a very slow DM fight
decimillipede generally doesn't kill my runs but it consistently shows me what's weak about my build
and also mugs me for like 50 fucking hp or something absurd
Hive elites all feel rude
they all are
honestly the glory elites feel like
easier in a lot of cases
or less like they prey on certain weaknesses
The eyeball definitely feels like it punishes you for not having enough block with that first bigass hit
just did a pretty neat silent run
had like 5 of that power that deals aoe damage every 3 poisons
glory elitesare scary but the whole game is scary by that point
hive is a point where you can't really afford to dodge but also are at a big risk facing them
In today's episode of "Tabby Climbs To Ascension 10 On All Characters"
Build that fucking kills you to death
(I love Bully so much, it's such a funny card)
It's interesting that they've tuned act 1 and act 3 a bit, but I don't remember a lot of tweaks to act 2. (I think they reduced decimillipede HP a bit?) I wonder if that means they're happy with where it's at, or if they're just waiting to get to it.
They did reduce the HP a bit during one of the first beta patches ya
I think they might do a little bit of tweaking but I doubt it won't be a slaughterfest either way, Act 2 has always been that way. My best guess is that it's meant to function as a bit of a build filter/skill check.
Me when the tiny tent is 181 coins and I had 180
pulled off the silly combo this new run does
Decisions, Decisions, finding Decisions, Decisions+, hitting Manifest Authority+
Bring able to heal and upgrade lets you get so much more aggressive, and if you get tent and shovel it gets really silly
tent is even more definitively the best relic in multiplayer
Oh yeah, being to heal two players at once is so useful
Boy was doormaker so much crud for this deck
tbh, that's a bad time to be buying membership card because it gives you no immediate power
i'd only really consider it very early act 1 in that sort of sitaution
it was floor six.
Ahhh
Well, in that case, your rage is justified good sir
Tyou have been ROBBED
and BETRTAYED
right???
my potential profits!!!!
i still won the run but this minor inconvenience justifies ten thousand bad reviews i think
huh
Getting jiggy with it
I wonder what it'll do when it gets full aniamtions
ooh, Conflagration and Drum of Battle reworked
Reworked Conflagration card:
Old: Conflagration - Attack - Cost 1 - Rare - Deal 8(9) damage to ALL enemies. Deals 2(3) additional damage for each other Attack you've played this turn.
New: Conflagration - Attack - Cost 1 - Rare - Deal 2 damage to ALL enemies 4(5) times.
Reworked Drum of Battle card:
Old: Drum of Battle - Power - Cost 0 - Uncommon - Draw 2(3) cards. At the start of your turn, Exhaust the top card of your Draw Pile.
New: Drum of Battle - Skill - Cost 1 - Uncommon - Draw 2 cards. When this card is Exhausted, gain 2(3) Energy.
they reworked axebots? shame
oh damn, no more reinforcing axebots
loved smashign through those guys
I liked that encounter
oh wow nutritious soup got a big buff
Changed Slippery Bridge event: will no longer offer to remove the same card multiple times unless it has already offered to remove all other cards in your deck at least once
thank god
there's going to be some scary hellraiser decks with that
Hey Slayers, we're back to updating the beta branch this week! Here's an overview of our goals with this patch. On Ascensions: When it comes to general balance, the base difficulty is quite hard right now. We're continuously adjusting this baseline difficulty to make it more accessible for a wide range of players, while also continuing to delive...
tbh... it's still pretty bad
Not really. Hellraiser decks still want to remove strike if they can, because strike is a bad card... and hellraiser should be playing strike for 0 already.
so strike getting 3 more damage is really not exciting
(also, sorry to be a b ummer on it!)
If only he wasn't intagiable this turn
Fine, i'll just do this instead
Fun run, very much "I AM GOING TO BE VERY STRONG AND ALSO ANGRY"
15 damage by the queen, 60 damage form test subject, and most of that in one turn when he was intagible
just did a regent build that had like infinite energy
spite is no longer a sprite reference
Sadly not
Still a good card tho'
im sure they will have unlockable beta art option like the first game so you can get all the silly designs
Ultra Instinct? No! Tyrannical BOMBARDMENT INSTINCT
Operation: DRILL BABY DRILL
Dammit, tired enough ij ust yeeted a run by not paying attnetion
How spiffy does the new Entomancer art look? Haven't had the time to play the new beta patch yet
He doenst look differnet, it's his background, and i wasn't paying attnetion tbh
Oh ongod
YEAH LMAO THAT'S A SUPERMASSIVE MOMENT
I love that card so much, real solid boss damage
man, this is possibly the sickest regent deck i've put together
use Begone! CHARGE!! and GUARDS!!! to delete most of the deck
so i can play Supermassive and The Gambit every turn
And Supermassive gets gigantic scaling off the combo
(and yes, i shredded every single basic from the deck)
Okay, I'm amused at the galaxy brain reacts, this seems like one of the most obvious things to do when you have Runic, The Gambit and Guards!!!
(thanks though, I appreciate it)
Damn, I thought you were meant to transform supermassive first
Not galaxy brained
I'm glad you ended up getting this without having to deal with Doormaker cuz that would be rough ngl lmao
not as in run is dead more just "damn this will be rough"
my
is mostly because it seems like living the dream. I never get a good density of Minion cards when I have the payoffs to make that happen, and getting to ignore Gambit's downside is really funny
ow
Denied the stone
this is an incredibly defensive necrobinder
omg I just got tiny mailbox
I am winning against the infested prism by doing no attacks
pacifist build
certainly a run
Damn, Colony turned into a Jojo character
My first ever Ice Cream run I think, at least insofar that I can remember. Though the star of the show in the late game was unsurprisingly Glitter and the War Historian relic.
Whereas Lens plus Snakebite carried the early game. Something to note is that I think enchantments from relics apply in order of seniority (or some other way ;p), which in this case meant that Lens overwrote Glitter. As a consequence I could not get glitter onto any block cards I picked up in act 3.
Glitter still put in work, because it turns out replay on Snakebite alone is quite good, but yeah keep that in mind. Would've been a lot happier if my block cards come late game got replay 1 (the first time they're played) instead of 2 more block ;p.
I honestly dont know how doormaker would ahve played out?
Like i'm already deleting a lot of my deck...
It's mainly if i can scale fast enoguh to not have to deal with too many exhuast turns
Also, hmm, dual wield Claw might be good
Actual number of claws inmy deck: 2.
Claws in my deck at end of Test subject: ????
also lol at how much i cowarded out on elites here
Reworked Axebots combat to have just a single, more challenging Axebot
Aw, I'll miss my guys
The rest of the patch looks good, especially the new art
Fixed The Boot relic amplifying Bad Luck curse's damage from 1 to 5 when the player has Intangible
Lmao
Also, whilst you probably shouldn't pick the map most of the time
You now get 600 gold for each copy of the Spoils Map quest card you have
The map is such a werid event]
Why not? The map is the best
So you gotta rember Orange and i are talking from an A10 perspective
and carrying a do nothing card, potentialyl for an entire act, a boffight, and half an act
for a payoff that while big, doesnt do anything until you find a shop
Is a really hefty issue
A card you can't play is in genral, a big problem
because it's taking up a draw, and you onyl have 5 cards by default per hand
This is similar to why card creation is good, because as a general rule of thumb it increases your options
I love card creation because it just lets you get rid of curses, I really feel it when I'm picking lots of curses with anyone that isn't the regent
As much as I love the teehee big number, this is always my problem. Nothing like getting zero shops after the chest in act 2
`Ahhh
Ironclad.
How many power ya wa-
Ironclad; Yes
No, really, how man-
Ironclad YES
Sadly, that was "only" the mad science that made me +2 dex and strength
instead of the "powers cost 1 less"
Blood Vial ??? got me 9 hp across the run, so uh, well done it
That and gaining a potion is also really good.
Since a potion can help trivialise an otherwise difficult fight.
It's kinda like the egg event, where the more fun option is sadly also the weaker one.
I need to get better at using potions, I think. other than high rolls off generated cards I feel like I don't often have them trivialize fights
Of all the quest events, I'd say the Key one is so far my favourite by far; meaningful choice, difficult fight, significant cure, and a reward which still makes it worth it.
In the early game I believe the card generating ones are generally the best, largely because they help you cheat on energy.
Ofc the ones which give you energy are also good for similar reasons.
Use em on elites
Elites and bosses are the best places to burn em
I'm not at the level where I'm memorising potion drop rates, because well that's mad, but overall elites, bosses, and particularly hard room fights are good yeah.
Not going to blame someone for using one against the hunter killer to burst 'em down.
@shrewd vault Potions: start at... 50% chance to drop, afaik? Every time one doesnt drop, it goes up by 10% chance. Every time it does, it goes down. Resets at teh start of each act.
notably elites add a flat 10 to this - so if you go into an Elite with 50% chance, you have a 60% chance. but here's where it gets funky: the game tracks if your potion comes from the base chance or the extra added elite chance. And if it comes form the extra added elite chance... your chance for a potion doesnt go down
no no, I get that they're good. but that means it feels weird when it doesn't feel like they do that much in an elite fight
Rip, eaten by instiable
yep. that's what I'm saying.
I mean, figureo ut how much hp they save you
Generally speaking, it's a lot!
And if it's not a lot
you're Doing it Wrong
this is such a beautiful run I'm having
kingly punch, pocketwatch, and that's about it
as long as I don't get the door, this'll work great
Yeah, see, that bit i said about yo uneed more than that
alright I managed to stun him just in time, and then...
I have a genesis and archaic tooth, so this won't end me, but...
nah we're fine, literally found the foul potions and a merchant with another kingly punch
I enter the entomancer fight, potion power --> monarch's gaze
rip to everyone killed by the gods for their hubris, but I'm different, and better
maybe even better than the gods
Which just to note, chances are almost all of us are doing it wrong to varying degrees.
StS 1&2 are pretty damn difficult.
victoryyyy
For sure. But generally speaking, how much HP does this save is a good metric.
Sometimes it's very obvious - Fire potion can save a good 30+ HP easy
Othertimes like fysh oil it's more subtle, but it can be A Lot
Anything that saves 20+ HP is too be respected IMHO
Mm, moreso noting it due to it being nice to emphasise that the game genuinely is just that hard, so not reaching the skill ceiling is something we all deal with.
Because fuck if that ceiling is high up.
it's really nice of mega crit to introduce a neow relic that you never pick to make deciding easier
beyond the one time you take neow's talisman for compendium completion
Talisman seems decent tbh
wut? That's a seriously good one
adding an extra 3 def and 3 attk to your deck is very good
and that's before oy u get into how it imrpoves "Get random upgrade" events
Hahahaha, what the hell, this deck was duuuuumb
replay on this card is actually disgusting
0 damage Doormaker and Test subject
necro consistently has enough energy to play tanx's whistle too,,,, which, i hope they give a custom animation eventually, i wanna see him swoop down
also, such a good deck that even though i hit this asshole, well...
Like i thoguht i was dead, but no, apeprntly i made a really good deck and just rolled the guy
I think I need to stop trying to force creation Regent
And I need to stop trying to play Kingly Punch, uh, altogether?
Yeah I know
It's slow scaling damage
Empahsis on the slow
Kingly Kick is a bit better because it's frotnloaded and can one shot some hallways, whcih is very relevant
I haven’t been doing it super consciously I just keep ending up going “oh well if I just get Arsenal” and taking bad cards
Ah, yeha, that'll eat you f or sure
Spectrum Shift is well worth slamming if you can upgrade it
Crash Landing is also incredibly good
Yeah but I’m not getting Crash Landing or Spectrum Shift, I’m getting, fucking, Supermassive and Charge!
and probably, even without hte upgrade, spectrum shift is that good
..those are both amazing though?
See
Like okay, Supermassive is a payoff card
but CHARGE!! is genuinely very, very good
even if all you're od ing is turning strikes into minion bombs
I think you’re right about Charge! and yet somehow I take it and then I get nothing that makes it cook so I’m like
“Okay I’ll thin my deck out and play Kingly”
That's less a problem with charge and more a problem with the rest of your deck
that you don't have any payoff to aggresisvely thining your deck/you're not getting enough output
Charge + Falling Star shoudl bemurdering things
It gets me through Act 1 and then things fall apart lol
Like you mighta seen this card creation deck the other day
which is just aggressively deleting the entire deck
Like I’m just either not finding the shit that keeps my run alive long enough to see synergy
Or I’m missing something
SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED THE REGENT GUIDE
I was going to ask
The patch this guide is written for is updated in the title, keep that in mind if some balance changes happen This character already wins every run please stop being so bad that he gets buffed every patch ty I will assume you already know common Spire mechanics like advanced hallways or potion ...
This guy is bonkers good, and has a lot of good advice
Here's anotehr winning regent run of mine, also using card creation
admitedlly, the really storng thing this deck is doing is the Tyrannical Bombardment Instinct.
I do feel that Regent is very vunlernable to bad micro play
(Your turn to turn decision making)
as blaancing stars and all teh normal shit you ahve to balance is really hard
okay
my eyes have been opened to some REALLY wack cards that I never realized just kinda
go nuts
okay
Minion transforms are Deck Fixing: The Game
that's nuts
if your deck is ass: what if it wasn't
and if your deck isn't ass: what if you always drew exactly what you needed anyways
Poor Sleep kinda goated for Regent despite being a curse, you always have something to turn into Minion Attack lol
It;'s nice
@radiant plaza This is how you arsenal.
Sigh, lost that run because inever saw a single bit of damage g eneration
er
block generation
Sca-sca-aling?
Necrobinders of Unuusal Size
Another double flawless necrobinder in the bag
It’s really hard to keep up with block in higher ascensions act 3
Just depends on you priorities and what you build around
Yeah, you'll want a wincon but that wincon doesn't need to be pure damage..
If you're relying just on Defends, yeah. but you can find ways to break it in your favor
Doormaker on 13 hp? NO PPROBLEM
Oh cute, i've never seen Highlander before
Highlander is no repeat cards execpt for basics
this is a pretty nice combo
I don't recognize the icons, is that lightning rod + spinner?
Yes
Hell yeah. Love those guys
Got both of these in the same run
This meant I ended up having 33 Starts by turn 1 because of Big Bang and Royal Gamble
Big band is great
Good old Elder Spirer Highlander
this game hates me
I have no other explanation for repeatedly alternating between Only Block and Only Damage draws in a relatively neutral deck
Big bang ugh autocorrect
I will figure out Regent.
I finally found a good usecase for Undeath: if Pandora's Box throws away all your block, and you don't get offered more, it does an alright job at keeping you from dying (and you can turn the extras into Souls with Seance)
Also: Pagestorm against the three knights elite is really funny, if maybe a little hazardous
Are folk struggling that much with undeath?
Thought that a 0 mana card which gives a respectable amount of block would be easy.
I like it but it can cause issues in long boss fights
It's not that it's bad it's just that it's a weird card
its like anger in that it fills your deck with itself on long fights, but unlike anger its defensive
yes but on a prolongued fight, when half of your deck is that one card because you've played it with reckless abandon, anger will still get you closer to end the fight
yesss hahahahahaha
@mortal loom I Regented
this deck was slow starting because you really need the Pillars of Creation and Spectrum Shifts online to cook (also the Tyranny helps) but once it starts rolling you have your pick of whatever bullshit Colorless cards you want and if you don't like the pulls you just transform them into Minions and hurl them at your enemies
Awesome!
Looks like a very solid deck
Meanwhile, i got to do something v. cool
Regent has really strong block engines but they kinda take some planning around to coax into working
also Tyranny with Kingly Whatever sure is a thing you can do lol
I dont think Eidolon ever once made me intagible
But it let me delete cards
and Delicate frond was probably worth it just for giving me a gigantifactigon potion
which lead to me one turning the poor eyeball elite
He ate shit
(Gigantified a lethality bury)
rest in peace
Sir, you've made poor choices
and that's 5 in a row, 4 rotating
I accidnetally played two regents in a row >.>
Fun run
the status defect is really fun and strong but its definetly harder to do since many of its cards really aren't worth it without the payoffs/enablers. You can grab a card that will fit into the powers/0cost/lightning/rainbow decks later in the game and that will also help you short term but the status cards feel so much more speculative to me
5 in a row.
Wut? The commons that make statuses are all realyl good
the specualtive stuff is taking Flak Cannon or Compact
GUnk Up is more ofa n early game common, but it scales with bulk Up very well
Boost away is just plain good
Ok yeah boost is excellent
Things are going well
Turbo is also very good, as is Overclock
Chat does this count as bullying?
Seven in a row, 6 rotating, double flawless
7 rotating, 8 in a row
8 rotating, 9 in a row.
won my first daily and it was also my first ironclad win
stronk
this is either going to be a really good idea, or a really bad one
...I hoppe yo ucan make six stars consistnetly
somewhat!
lmao. 8 of them seems about right to go "infinite": one plays another plays another, and then I just play my whole deck and kill with letter opener.
Very nice
And yes, that makes sense - you don't need that many to keep the chain going, and you don't want too many you make sure you can get to six stars
Not a combo I would have thought to try, so very cool!
yeah. it turns out the hard part is keeping track of how many free cards I'm going to get
I did a hilariously Galaxy brained play yesterday though
"hmmm. I'm two cost necrobinder." Looks at spinned bracer "why yes, I do want to make my powers cost more"
(I had intimidating helmet & two copies of Danse, so making my powers cost more and getting more energy for playing my two costs was infact extremely good)
It was also just v funny to intentionally take something to make my stuff more expensive
That was fun run
Also got to do a snecko necro run with double bury
Turns out that's pretty good
Ha, yes, I'm not sure the order it resolves in
it's straightforward, I was just playing too fast. The first time you copy a Decisions, you get three casts. If you copy another as the last cast, then you just need to count to three however many times
OK, this might make things complicated

I still don't know whether cloning Decisions, Decisions was a good idea, but it was really fun run. I think a better player than me would've been able to make a more consistent deck, but without Sealed Throne or Royal Seal I think it'd be hard to consistently fire the combo turn 1.
Ultimately what caused the most trouble was that once you get the combo rolling, there aren't a lot of ways to remove cards from your hand: attacks, powers, and skills that make cards become super awkward. GUARDS!!! helped a bit here, but each Minion Sacrifice eats a precious free play.
Hey, a win is a win!
a dub is a dub is a dub is a dub
yeah! like, ultimately it's probably a testament to the effectiveness of the combo (and Regent's cardpool) that this worked in spite of how loosely I play.
doing it at asc10? who knows
Regent's creation gimmick is like
really crazy when it works
it feels terrifying to try and get it spun up though
also if your draw order is shit you can just lose before you get a chance to see your whole deck
because you NEED Spectrum Shift and Pillar of Creation to come online fast or you're floundering trying to play whatever stuffing your deck has and throw minions at the encounter
I love Spectrum Shift a lot, but it's so awkward if you can't get an upgrade on it pronto
Qusaur is also v. good, and recommended
and while they're not regent exclusive, Discovery(+) and SPlash (ideally +) is very good
Bundle of Joy, i ironically, rate the lowest
It is very good, b ut it's the most awkard to play
nah 1 energy for 4 colorless cards and 4x Pillar of Creation block
it's good shit
draw order dependent but what can you ask for with creation regent
This was the ironclad deck i won with beforei went out
V. fun deck
Bully and uppercut as a pair of transofrms is ahell of a start
Dominate/Vicious is so good
get some Colossus in there, some Taunts
absolutely cooked archetype
tbh, i very much suspect colossus needs a nerf
re: create regent though, it's ludicrous how good Collision Course is
it is a little ridiclous how strong that is
Or Crash Landing
crash landing into guards!!! is some funny shit.
Crash Landing's awesome obviously
Collision Course is just
really fucking strong for a Strike replacement
energy cost optional and it feeds a bunch of silly synergy options like using BEGONE to purge the Debris
it's funny how Supermassive being an Uncommon makes Arsenal not nearly as cracked as, say, Tyranny
Arensal is still really g ood, but it's a bit more ofa build-around
while sueprmassive is a payoff
if the difference makes sense?
SHIV
oh Arsenal is still clearly an awesome combo piece
my thinking was more that while you don't NEED either of them to win with create synergy (all you actually need is Pillar of Creation), Supermassive is an easier standalone win-con to play into than Arsenal (but Arsenal is far more flexible)
Tyranny is just fucked though
legitimately turns the game into Idk Draft The Whatever 2
