when you're running into full teams with purple it's because ultimately with the way looting is, purple shields are fairly accessible.
I don't believe much of a anybody has nucal fully upgraded to buy purple shields but I believe quite a few people who have premades have blue shields unlocked to buy. With that they could basically convert that into getting purple shields by running map events or purple key rooms and build up shields that way
You yourself had multiple purple shields between running cryo and outpost
aside from that if it's a 3 stack running purple shields they probably aren't winning off the shields, it's more so they're winning because they're a 3 stack playing against fill or randoms.
3 stack with purple shields vs 3 stack with blue shields is a 20 hp difference individually

Barters are def hit or miss but I imagine some barters being meh exists more cause we don't know if there's a cap to faction leveling and you do get salvage for leveling past vip
So once you upgrade everything you still get salvage from leveling and it still gives you stuff to use them for than just converting them flat to credits
But game has only been out 3 weeks, I'm more just waiting to see what the event is and what updates they'll do

One thing that’s really helped me keep from bouncing off is that the time between runs is so short. It gets easier to just go “Ah, well.” and move on to the next run every time I die.
