damn they had no chaff clear at all for the cralwers

quiet oriole
#

there's a couple shockwave arclights in there

scenic rock
#

Shockwave arclights are interesting because the shockwave doesn't scale so they're great if the chaff didn't level and if they did you need more Arclights

spark rain
#

what does shockwave do

scenic rock
#

It's one of the recent techs that got added, Decreases Arclight's Attack Range by 5. Attacks generate a shockwave, dealing 82 damage to enemies within 30m of the target.

#

how worth it is this game?

#

not sre weather to get it

scenic rock
#

Devs play their own game and patch often, in fact there's a patch adding a new unit coming up in just two days

earnest raptor
#

What's the format?

#

as in
how does 2v2 work, do u need to cooperate?

scenic rock
#

There's 1v1 matches, 2v2 matches where you have an ally on one of several different board arrangements (wide, tall, compact), then there's a funsies 4 player free for all where you compete for score

#

Matches have a health bar that gets depleted based on how big of a win the round win was (as in how many units the winning player of the round has left) so losing a round in a close fight isn't as bad as a big blowout

#

2v2s combine the health bars of both players; how big the health bar is depends on what randomized loadout / unit specialist you pick at the start

earnest raptor
#

is the game just pull the pin and watch the battle?

scenic rock
#

Each round is a deployment phase where you set up the queue then the battle plays out based on the spells / units you queued coming in; the battle part can be sped up to get back to the preplacement phase of the next round faster

#

This video's about 4 weeks old so it's a good showcase of the current gameplay over 2 games showing off one particular tech series from a recent patch, could be a good view if you want commented replays:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mspptnp-r5I

In this video we play 2 different games with the new Field Entrenchment technology for the Sabertooth. The first game is a unique Saber/Fang game, and the second is in a Saber headbutt.

I hope you enjoy.

Greetings, Commanders! Update 1.10 is here! This update brings the brand-new Season 7, a new Vortex, and many performance optimizations. Additionally, starting from 1.10, Mechabellum will natively support macOS, allowing Mac users to enjoy the game without relying on workarounds. This update will take place at 08:00 UTC (4:00 Eastern Daylight Ti...

The Vortex is a 100-supply frontline utility unit that excels at disrupting enemy attacks, shielding allies, and supercharging your army — with the potential to snowball into an unstoppable force. Its 6 unique techs are incredibly versatile, letting you spec it for aggressive all-in plays or lockdown defensive setups.

I'm incredibly hype to crash my MMR in season 7 through playing nothing but crabs.

they have a link tech, they're truly made for you

Can you read its stats on the page? My phone won't zoom in enough for me to read them.

four shots from a marksman

clear heron
#

oh that's a 7 in the front of HP.

#

1200 feels like too round of a number to last long.

#

that'll be 1337 in 2 weeks

scenic rock
#

Ah, they're kinda like big arclights, I got completely confused from all the GIFs showing 4 at a time and thought they came in 4 packs like Hounds, this makes much more sense

clear heron

Same

scenic rock

1200 a zap is a pretty decent anti void eye kinda performance though they'll eat a couple zaps on the way in

quiet oriole

they feel tuned as an anti-hound unit more than anything

I'm interested in seeing them in practice.

spark rain
#

yeah okay sure mhmm

storm hatch
#

hounds with chamber are very cracked

scenic rock
#

Yeah if I'm running the numbers right the 3.0 delay means each hound hits for like 1000 each

storm hatch
#

it stacks infinitely apparently

#

more importantly it lets hounds oneshot crawlers

scenic rock
#

There's a bit of an arms race with hounds and crawlers, where a Hound with attack research from the building one shots a equal level crawler without the HP upgrade from the building; with equal numbers of attack (hound side) and HP (crawler side) it's a 2 shot yeah

#

I like the incendiary missiles for crawlers but that doesn't work so good if you're also running crawlers

scenic rock
#

I've come around on the Compression Chamber Hounds, the 180% attack increase lets them really mess up higher level crawlers than them so it's a good tech if you have them hanging around low level like for fire extinguishers but they weren't getting a lot of XP

storm hatch
#

even baseline its a 30% damage amp per shot which lets them oneshot normal crawlers

#

very good rn, one of the best techs on hounds

scenic rock
#

Yeah I used to just slam armor and mech rage and now it's way more interesting a choice

fallow vapor
#

Crabs may be cracked

storm hatch
#

opponent really needed more chaff there but yeah crabs are pretty good rn

#

they lose quite hard to mountain ime and lack the DPS to cut through WF but broadly you need to go giants or titans to have a chance

scenic rock
scenic rock
#

For the crawler enjoyers in the chat, how do y'all use them good?

I've been running permutations of Mech Rage/Replicate/Underground Blitz/Drill and they do good when they can close the gap and they don't do so good versus the usual chaff clear (badgers, Arclights, hounds, spiders) so I guess the question is "how do you clear their chaff clear"? Put the crawlers in back so they don't outrun the durable units?

storm hatch
#

imo the important techs are loose or blitz and you pick the one that's appropriate vs enemy chaff clear, but the goal isn't for crawlers to make contact but to occupy enemy dps while your dps kills

#

you want the first crawlers to get in range right before your dps do so they start getting shot right when they need to

#

carry crawler is hard to run without the level 5 crawlers card because they're squishy

#

hounds struggle with equal level or higher crawlers unless they have +1 atk or the chamber tech since they won't oneshot

#

you can see here that I don't even grab tech and just got more crawlers

#

I went loose here because opponent had arcs and sledges and they responded with vulcan but not fast enough to win

scenic rock
#

Yeah I had dropped Loose for Replicate on account of seeing more shockwave arclights and might slot it back in, good shout

#

Might be I need to rethink what I'm comboing crawlers with since it usually flops when I do Balls and hounds for single target/chaff clear so I may need longer range DPS

storm hatch
#

I don't think replicate mechrage or drill are normally necessary because crawlers aren't there to do damage

#

loose is very much a sometimes food because if you take it too early it will just kill you

#

esp now that culling is a thing

scenic rock
#

Yeah with fangs it's a lot easier to just slap on shield and range and maybe mech rage if you're on a tear while crawlers it's kind of a question mark on getting them XP to soak shots better vs them feeding XP; I usually have this dilemma trying to pick chaff as elite specialist

storm hatch
#

you dont always need to level crawlers either

#

but even with fangs I usually leave them bare

scenic rock
#

I use a lot of fangs as anti Phoenix kinda situation occasionally so I'm all ears for good anti Phoenix setups too

storm hatch
#

phoenix shield, stangs, MM AA

#

forts and worms can tank phoenix forever

scenic rock
#

I do need to use more giants in general, good shout

storm hatch
#

rifts are fun ngl

#

the sheer quanttity of bullshit I was doing to my opponent

scenic rock
storm hatch
#

fire is less helpful here than the delay

#

burning the oil halves its uptime

scenic rock
storm hatch
#

specifically burned oil goes away that round, unburned oil lasts two rounds

scenic rock
storm hatch
#

oh jesus culling is cheap

scenic rock
#

Yeah it's up against anti air and ranged so now I'm tempted

storm hatch
#

The hypersledges seemed scary and then I took range melter

scenic rock
#

Had a pretty funny match versus someone who took the Elite Sledgehammer card and took field maintenance and chained sledges

Learned a couple things:

  1. Ionization from Raidens only halves the HP of the linked sledges hit by the bolts, not the whole chain
  2. Dominion Core and Amplifying Core work pretty good on amping up the sledge chain HP
  3. 50000 HP per sledge is kind of scary
  4. Should have went with Melting Points over double fire sabers and Scorpions
clear heron
#

Yeah, annoyingly melting point does just disintegrate the sledge chain. It's why I'm a little happier to Steel Ball chain (+crawler spawnong tech)
That Ionization interaction does seem weird to me though.

scenic rock
#

Yeah I tried EMP marksmen to try to break the chains but turns out 1) anti air on them too got them mad distracted and 2) the EMP only seemed to break one sledge out of the chain at a time instead of all 5, so I gotta play with it more in the testing grounds

storm hatch
#

Chain sledges is an instant melter from me

scenic rock
#

Giants have huge range in general which is pretty awesome

<@&1119755262992068658> would anyone like to play?

fallow vapor

Got rolled by carry Marksman

storm hatch
#

oh those corner wraiths are pretty diabolical

scenic rock
#

Yeah field maintenance and armor is gonna need either anti air marksmen or anti air Farseers to bust

storm hatch
#

or melting or overlord

spark rain
#

melters for those wraiths is somewhat reasonable just because they're double teched D:
