so it's pretty much his job to harvest those +800-odd souls every single time they respawn and keep the team's net worth high

deadlock is at an interesting intersection where I'm familiar enough at shooters (despite me being bad) so I can play that but also am still 30 years late on all moba knowledge plus the idiosyncrasies of Deadlock itself

you can also be splitpush man at low elo and destroy people's towers with helper creeps

The best troop to put you lil helper on is the melee one
in lane its the healer to delay their hp
if you want to be maximally annoying in lane, camp the creeps as they get low and then put the helper on them when they're low

that feels a bit later in the game
Magic Carpet is borderline impossible to stop once you’re moving, very fast, gives you access to verticality most characters can’t get to and basically lets you peace out of ganks
magic carpet sounds useful for me since I tend to die
because I can't escape from these bastards who shoot me at exactly 2.8 second intervals

Magic carpet will not save you from a gank, will get you out of one though if you can create a little distance
you can do the weird zipline hop where you jump on the zipline until you get pulled towards it, then immediately jump off, then repeat
It’s a bit of a meme but any character can become a viable-ish split pusher with Magic Carpet
that way you're not ON the zipline so you don't get stunned
Small issue, they can shoot you while you are hopping on
Ziplaunch is also just a good thing to learn
well more so they interrupt before I can even get on the thing but that helps I guess

Zipdash is dropping off zip line with crouch to retain air control and momentum
And then using your air dash during the control period to do a REALLY fast airdash that hurls you towards your target
which is neat
that explanation video with dynamo feels a bit trash cos why would I ult like that
and also I'm not always dynamo
You can combo it with seven and lash ult for funny results
If you zipdash from the initial jump onto the line, that’s called ziplaunch and it lets you absolutely schmoove on people as long as your hyperline is deployed nearby

In general the reason you want to do wacky Dynamo movement into ult is because everyone knows if you have your ult ready and is gonna be wary of incoming Singularity
So if you want to get a juicy multi hit ult you have to be moving different
if I see dynamo it's literally all I'm thinking about
'Don't get caught don't get caught don't get caught'
Some people get good at reading when dynamo is going to ult
You gotta be there before they even know you’re there
or you have the rest of your team create such a ruckus that they tunnel vision and 'run away from dynamo' is totally out of their mental stack
So all that movement tech is just based on crouching letting you dismount while keeping momentum
It takes one (1) really juicy Dynamo ultimate to completely devastate the game
in any case it's basically there to show that you can 'abuse' leaving the zipline to move and do Some Abilities
it doesn't have to be dynamo
Still not a fan of only having that one video
it's not ~strictly~ momentum, it's more like air-friction- if you don't drop off the zipline that way, you'll go from moving at zipline speed to pretty much 0. unless doing that would cause you to literally fly into the enemy team it is always correct to crouch off it
but yeah I have used some of this tech on accident due to ultrakill experience
you can also do stuff like chain it into airdash to move even faster
i genuinely don't remember the last time I dismounted the zipline 'normally'
deadlock continues to be daunting like many multiplayer games for me
it's just kind of a bizarre unspoken rule
a habit more so
I have seen multiple vids of Lash doing it into “oh shit that was too much momentum”
Unless you want to sail into the enemy team for some nefarious, evil, devious reason

And the item description for Transcendent specifies, abilities and Items. So if it does do that, I don't think it's supposed to do that

after a bit they decided to make the item cooldown a different stat, and only trascendental gets said stat
its the only "item" specific modifier so far, they hadnt done a similar thing to range or duration, but I guess that makes sense
uptime increases WAY MORE if you lower CD rather than raising the duration of the effect
with this, trascendental cd is kind of more of a luxury buy unless you are the kind of char with 4 actives running around
or you are a spirit bruiser like Mo, yamato kinda, and abrams

Muscle memory kicked in and I played her like Yamato which did not end well for me

AIUI a lot of it is you shoot people until their health goes away
But tether is also good CC, your allies benefit from your shred, and she's good at using targeted active items

I think sometimes the enemy is good at countering you and throws your vibes off for a game or several
wondering about a more support focused Vindicta
I like her, but my ability to track someone consistently with M1 fire is pretty suspect
They've nerfed that more and more but rescue beam is a very funny item on vin support
Especially if you learn to cancel the rescue beam pull at the height of the momentum
So you fly up, rescue beam, then cancel the pull to slingshot someone
there's also the classic vortex web + alchemical fire grillmaster vindicta
or knockdown as vindicta. while not conventional an anvil to the head lines up east headshots and your cc once it goes off
Im tempted to build slowing hex cold front knockdown doorman
The doorman whose entire gameplan is "WELCOME TO THE BARONESS"
It'll work. Slowing hex into baroness is a true combo, adding more into it is only sensible. Rush ult max and start ruining fights
Make sure to single a particular enemy out enough that it makes them completely unhinged

the actual cost is that her build path is really rickety and compy
you don't get to adapt a lot and if you're countered you get to be miserable and still build the needful
holi falls off so fucking hard at some point
like, ive played against hellidays who have perfect barrel tech
and will snipe you with the stupid barrel
but at some point they just stop dealing damage and become target practice
also for some reason i only perform well in mid-late
probably cuz i can usually get full hybrid output at that point and start shredding with 200 DPS gun + infinite spirit damage (paradox)
barrel holliday falls off because spirit falls off
you can play sniper holliday too but it's harder
If only she could get some sort of stacking damage amp
while still having a potent revolver

My 2 cents would be like. The buffs dont work for an amount of time after you die/respawn , but getting another assist automatically ends that. Idk

your actual proper combo is closer to gun -> 1 -> blasted -> 2 -> 1 (reload) -> repeat, toss in light melees around depending on your CDs

the only reason a billy should melee is to either A add time to blasted B add ammot to gun and C the enemy parried
if you see a bad parry you get to punish it harder
ideally you want to get in without using rising ram (2)
so you can use rising ram when they try to disengage

it's fairly long and a lot of movement lockout but uhh
it does not last 15 seconds
some of this is I'm in high skill bracket or whatever
which means people are better at movement
which means engagements have to be shorter (generally) because someone will just disengage inevitably
experiences are different at different levels of play

blasted refreshes whenever you hit a melee attack
it lasts as long as you are engaged

You dont truly play Billy until you have been in a fight long enough to realize that Blasted has an upper limit of time where it stops refreshing

I decided to actually go and test things with Billy
Because there were some statements thrown out there that had me questioning my own experience and wondering what the actual mechanic was
And my deduction is that Blasted just seems to be bugged
I had thought that just having a fight go long enough it stopped refreshing
What actually happens is that Blasted can be permanent, but if you overflow too much and keep hitting melee's when you are already at max, it seems to bug out and stop refreshing
Oh I thought Blasted had a finite number of times it can refresh in a cast
at that point it kind of sounds like a enemy skill issue
I did test and there are no diminishing returns whatsoever on the health gain part, whether the amount or duration
that they dont bother to parry you
parrying a good Billy is pretty difficult
what is the amount in your experience
But the Blasted duration in general can be bugged if you just keep hitting your melees as max. This is a consistent variable I tested, where only hitting it halfway through I was going on 5 minutes of blasted with no sign of it stopping
But if I just spammed melee as fast as I could it ended about 30 seconds in
So, interesting maths. Definitely makes me reconsider Bashdown maxxing too hard if it will consistently make me overflow too fast.
It is still a weird spot because I will be surprised if a teamfight last for 30 seconds
that assumes you are tickling them
or they are like 70% melee resist
Testing it with superior duration the overflow can happen near instantly. I've never been a fan of duration on Billy tbh but that exentuates it, considering how long Billy fights can be

Welcome to Dota style game pacing kinda. Fwiw I think "we're stuck in a game we absolutely can't win" has been mostly a solved problem in mobas this decade? Maybe it's still bad in league of legends
But modern Dota and even heroes of the storm are both pretty good at ending when things are hopeless
Like they just roll into your base and that's that
champion kills give way more proportional gold in league then in deadlock and waves in league give less gold then waves in deadlock so kills esp early tend to matter less in my view in deadlock and are esp way less of a win indicator
tbh dota is kinda a "solved game" and you can probably see the problem in a match because of 9 years of experience
and I put quotes in the solved game because I think beyond characters changing or who is OP/strong, the base is still the same overall
deadlock is a new game and is bringing people from the Hero shooter and shooter in general genre, and those might not be as open to notice these things

A big gripe atm I still have with deadlocks matchmaking/mmr is that it doesnt seem to account for the overall level of the lobby at all, esp for players playing in harder games. I played with a friend whose rank was way lower then mine and we wanted to test out how it feels. We lost and my friend playing in a way harder lobby for him lost way more mmr due to performance then I did and that def sucks.

I so regularly see comebacks to the point I feel its almost a misplay to be winning hard enough early for us to get an uncontested comeback urn
