Gun Geist is good right now, right? How does that work?

Use Spirit Bomb for farming, the other two abilities to supplement gun damage and just shoot them to death? (Ult is ult, I assume)

It's the skill you level last and you skip on Mystic Burst or Tankbuster so it's mostly just a laning tool

I personally recommend Spirit Shredder Bullets, it reinforces your early game playstyle of throwing Malice, plinking with your gun against enemies that have the amp on them, and then finishing them with Essence Bomb

that and the Spirit lifesteal is nice for Geist

I should really compile my hybrid concepts for Geist and put together an annotated build

Geist is easy to pick up IMO, but positioning and movement is very important because you don't have much mobility in your kit;

While your ult can protect you from being caught out, you are very vulnerable to being silenced or Hard CC'd and then gunned down before you can life swap if you're not careful.

okay let me say my piece on Geist

Geist has a low skill floor but you can get REAL jiggy with it thanks to her 3 enabling all sorts of nonsense and her 4 enabling her to get real evil

what I mean by a low skill floor is that if all you do is chuck essence bombs and replenish your health with Life Drain and occasionally use her ult to win fights you have no business winning, you are already bringing a lot of value to the table because her 1 is that good and her gun is that good and her ult is that good

but Geist can do a lot more: using her 2 and 3 together to run people down is really scary, maintaining a 2+ Malice stack on your opponent in lane means their life is constantly in danger if you decide to turn around and murder them, Life Drain is a set and forget that lets you cook up all sorts of noxious evil on people in the middle of fights while constantly dealing damage and healing, her 1 at T3 lets her just toss it into lesser camps while actively fighting and suffering no loss of efficiency at either of those tasks

staying at around half health on purpose with conscious use of Malice's self-harm lets you constantly threaten to assassinate someone with your ult while it's up and you're never that far from healing to full if you pick decent items

actually the thing that I will say that is sort of unintuitive is once Geist's ult is up, the whole deal around her health and the kill threshold for enemies becomes very important to consider and also the dynamic becomes very different

you need to have a good estimate of who can kill you fast and how much health they can do it from, and consciously stay healthy enough (ie use Malice and Essence bomb less and potentially Life Drain a minion just to top up) to make sure you aren't going to get jumped on and killed by Lash, and you also need to be keenly aware of who has Silences that they're going to rely on to engage onto you with in hopes of killing you before you can press 4

you gotta keep one eye on Shiv, Venator, Vyper etc. at all times because they are absolutely fiending to execute a Lady Geist with their abilities that effectively prevent you from pulling a last moment health swap

conversely if the enemy team doesn't keep an eye out for you at all times and lets you do your shit, Geist with ult is like 2 whole people and a free kill in any team fight, you are an absolute menace to society who can just forcibly win confrontations because you said so

I can also say, it is really satisfying to go to a lane by yourself, see the Drifter approaching, walk around a corner and wait with your 4 up, health swap him, hit 3 and then drop an essence bomb on him

I recommend being at least 5k souls up on him if you try this

requires a different skill set and thought process because you want to spend a good bit of time roaming and doing sinners + boxes, but there’s no guarantee the thing you rotate for is there

this is a learned and generally transferable skill, knowing what’s likely to be up when and so on and so forth, but compared to someone like Paige who can auto clear waves I think I know which is going to take less execution for more benefit

1. Spirit won't scale as well as M1 past ~25-30 minutes
2. Spirit resilience, spellbreaker and other spirit resist items make your build very survivable in the end game
3. Once you blow your CDs, you're kinda paddling the canoe up river if that doesn't kill the enemy team

We could have won so many fights

I have so many times intiated, got into a 1v3 or more and reduced hp by 90% to all of them just to die and my team to be doing other things when they where nearby a moment ago

So I take a moment and see who's actually headed to mid first

I did some Street Brawl, we had a round where the enemy pushed really hard and chased my allies back to our walker... except I was there, as rem, with a massive wave of our own minions they'd let walk past, and we needed just their guardian

So they all whipped around once they saw that suddenly there was an elite force of idiot troopers and a rem throwing pillows taking down their guardian

they just tunnel visioned way too hard

Rem is really good at backdooring in Street Brawl

Like, usually the general chaos of battle actually ends up killing minions, but the rem ones only die if you target them.

Last Stand is a weird ult; Warden really is a genuinely menacing son of a bitch while he's in it but it's not easy to feel out how dangerous you are when you're playing as Warden because it attaches a giant flashing SHOOT ME sign to your character

and so a lot of times when you Last Stand you're gonna get focused and if you don't keep 3+ people in your ult cone you explode

this is why buying a positioning item like Majestic Leap to ensure you always start Last Stand from a cruel and unusual flanking position is important, that or jumping off a roof while it charges and landing just as it starts
