Facets were you chose a slight variant of the hero at game start, sometimes it was a completely different ability in one of the slots, sometimes a modification to an existing one, sometimes a weirder change (like Venge being a very long ranged melee hero in one facet)
They were nifty but also a ton of extra balancing work, I have to wonder how overworked Icefrog was with both facets and Deadlock

All the damage on hit items work off of either buildup or cooldown. Tesla/capacitor would be the only one noticeably affected because of how the 20% chance interacts with the short CD
