Yes, lots
Do this
Doors are extremely powerful and you should be using them a lot: in lane you can use them to teleport a lane partner with a strong gun to the enemy high-ground and give them a very strong poking position, to create flanking angles and undermine enemy cover, or place a door under your guardian/walker and throw enemies through the opposite side to put them into an extremely perilous position
If your lane partner has Bebop hook or Paradoxical Swap thatâs even more opportunities to drag them through and into the garbage disposal, stuns and knock-ups also set up easy carts that send your opponents to hell
ever since the changes to how doors affect falloff, placing doors deep in enemy side of lane is even more annoying than ever *if your lane partner is a gun-dependent character
you do noticeably more damage
and of course you yourself do a fair amount more
the threat of door also often makes it difficult to pop healing rite
they healing rite in shop, you door right behind them and shoot them, they spent 800 souls for +30 hp
You can also, of course, use a âgarbage disposalâ door to rescue a teammate, so placing your door into a safe exit point allows you to pull them out of bad situations
Also you can door into their shop and harass the shit out of them yes
dinging them as they go to buy is super painful
If you have a close-range or melee range lane partner thereâs other devious options for doors, mostly just surprise shortcuts for your lane partner to emerge from and kill them randomly
you can also get in and out fast if you're e.g. on the right-hand side of the map, where your opponents have a small camp and you have mediums
Vyper especially benefits from the ability to suddenly appear and then disappear in inter dimensional drive-by shootings
you door from one pylon of the bridge to the left-side entrance of their small camp
You can also use doors to undermine a strong position - if they take the high ground and start sniping, you can safely assail them through a high ground door and take your lane back that way
all of a sudden now they have to deal with you contesting them for what should be a steady soul advantage
door from lane -> vent to bridge buffs to expedite your rollout
For taking objectives or split pushing, doors allow you to always have an exit strategy: Doorman has strong wave clear potential with his call bells, and if the enemy appears to stop your push you can just vanish to who-knows-where and close the door shut behind you
You can also use this to push with an ally who has less cooldown-dependent pushing power and really pressure objectives without risking your neck
because of how the map bottlenecks as you get closer to each side's base, doorman can also very quickly transfer a walker push from one side lane to mid and take 2 objectives where you could only take 1 before
Urn is regrettably not amenable to being shoved through inter dimensional gaps but you can cheese it a little with ally-targeting carts
the amount of overshield you get on door is also pretty stupid
it's just a massive team HP buff if you get the squad to at least dip in and out of your door
But the big thing you can do with doors come mid-game is make teamfighting really noxious for your enemies: you can dispose of entire chunks of the enemy team as I did in that one clip by using Vortex Web, create insane flanking angles for your team to emerge from pincer the enemy, expedite your laggard teammatesâ arrival to objectives, or simply evict the enemy team from midboss and slam the door on them
mid is doorman's killer app now that urn isn't deliverable with doors
with good timing you can at worst, stun every person trying to punch the rejuv, and at best abduct them
You can still cheese it a little by sending an ally carrying urn through a door by force
The urn drops on the opposite side if you do that
But on mid you can just kidnap the enemy from their hard-earned Rejuvenator and pilfer it, itâs hilarious
the arena is literally set up perfectly with a wall on every side for you to cart stun
and they're high enough for you to put doors
people will just neatly arrange themselves in a nice bowling alley-shaped formation for you
And curiously itâs exactly one Vortex Web in radius

The Vortex Web combos on Doorman are never to be ignored, by the by
Itâs an item that turns Doorman into a menace for just one member of the enemy team unless youâre rather canny, to a truly universal manifestation of despair and frustration
5-man cart stuns are both real and game-changing

Play a lot.
You just need to play all the situations, a lot, to get a sense of how your doors can make an impact
Talk with your teammates
Coordination makes Doorman 200% stronger

To a certain point just playing and getting reps and familiarity is the only way to improve
Ask your lane partner if they want flanks, firing positions, invasion doors, etc
Past that is specialised practice and that way lies madness
there is a simple rule of thumb of "before you go do anything risky, put a door somewhere safer"
Popping folks out of cover timed with ally going sicko
You can do a little specialized practice by just doing Explore New York mode and exploring potential doors with various items
Which is really more noodling around to see what works than hardcore practice
Just like real New York, you will be disappointed
Doormanâs doors are never disappointing
"I'm going to push in with my wave close to their walker. Before I do that, I will place a door closer to my side of the map."
"I want to dive the opponent's guardian with teammate as we have them low. Before I do that, I'm gonna put a door near our shop."
then as soon as things get hairy, you can mash door as you're running away and have an escape ready
this is a primarily defensive use of the tool and will not teach you how to use it offensively, but staying alive is the most straightforward way to generate more value as doorman
Defensive doors will make you die FAR less
And dying less means more carts and more bells
Using door as a peeking tool is also always an option but thatâs fairly situational
It'll also probably help with getting doors on my mental stack and being able to intuit the range on them, both of which I think I need to get better at being able to do before I can start using them more
Bonus points: you can start pulling your friends out of hairy situations too and then they owe you their lives (you just generated HELLA value as Doorman)

and then you'll probably start going "oh, this is the perfect spot" all by yourself because you're training to use the kit
and you're instinctively looking for good door spots
The first thing to do is start placing one door in an advantageous spot for what youâre gonna do next, then look around and see where you can place them by pressing 2 and just not putting it down
Thatâs a great way to start feeling it out
I would also recommend putting them on quick cast (hold to see the places you can put them, release to actually place)
makes it wayyyy easier to check your gut on where a door can go, and thus also if you're venturing out of your safe zone
When youâre doing something risky get in the habit of checking if youâre in door radius
If not, cancel your previous door and go set another exit
That there wasnât getting any lighter
or at least be aware that you're far away from home and can get dove hard
As a support itâs also just always important to coordinate, even mediocre placement is a lot better if your allies know of it

you are mostly not rich enough to man fight most dedicated combat characters, so if there's trouble and you're far away from a door, you need to scram immediately more times than not
because where there's one there will soon be two, or that one will have slow hex and knockdown, or-

A lot of Doorman ults get spent on solo assassins who think Doormen are free kills
It doesnât have to be that way (but this is still a worthy ult use)
and then as you get more and more comfortable duelling and using your kit, feel free to disregard this advice
Best used in taking a carry out of a team fight while you explode the rest of their team

The problem is that paradox isnt a character that wants to be in the middle of the enemy team
i've never once gone "oh that character is so far away, i wish i could swap them instead" because at some point the swap is just gambling even with carbine
or they are so far away you would kill yourself and go even instead of 1 for 0 anyway

Billy Ult continuing or not is one of those things that feels whimsical as hell

Yeah Lasso and Swap are both really good pick abilities in their own niche
Paradoxs is better as a 1v1 tool but Holliday with any team coordination is stronger. Which isn't that hot a take considering swap barely has a cooldown
the knives dont feel like they hurt that much
Holliday also gets to take you on a little trip if she has the schmoves for it

the main Insane Design Decision i forever associate with league is that they're constantly trying to make tanks do huge damage
LoL's trying to balance the edge of tanks that have reason to shoot at them without hard aggro systems, and low damage high CC tanks are aggravating for other reasons

Outside of cube or ball he's not especially durable, his survivability mostly comes from being able to just fly out of bad situations
And they have a great way to make people shoot them
durable character that gets in your face and starts causing problems because killing them's tough and it forces you to either position around em or focus em down
They also have a great way to make people not shoot at anyone.
the problems coming in flavors of damage, CC, positioning control, etc.
I think at lower levels just being tanky can be enough

yeah I told her that Celeste's gun sucks for going straight gun and her answer was basically "it has no falloff range and bounces it's basically the ultimate gun"

I don't think it goes into the "sucks" category but it's definitely quirky enough to not be "the ultimate gun". Most of its power comes from her 1 anyway, but it has some strengths you can lean into. Good items are active reload and kinetic dash for both ammo uptime and fire rate (the things that let her trigger the 1 more frequently). The damage itself isn't worth specifically building for since almost all Celeste's power comes from her spirit based abilities
This is why spellslinger > lucky shot or something. Fire rate and reload speed so you can keep ticking the 1 on people

slowing bullets are also really good on it
since it has like a 54% buildup per shot
On-hit effects are good because of the stupid buildup, yes
just fundamentally missing the point of the character and/or misunderstanding the stat system, in mina's case specifically

yeah the problem isn't so much that Mina has no synergy with gun it's that she has exactly one stat she cares about
it's fire rate and then only insofar as fire rate gives her the love bites proc faster
iirc she has the worst base gun damage in the entire game so any % wep damage increaases are straight ass
haze is in a similar boat where she primarily dedicates herself to fire rate, but the amount she can get out of it is way higher because fixation stacks up to 60 and not somewhere around 6-10 (in the case of getting one love bites proc)
She has some of the lowest gun damage scaling in the game. I think just directly the lowest
On account of it expecting you to build for love bites

Laning into a bomb-focus bebop really doesn't feel great. At least at the start his bombs are relatively weak, so I've heard the response is to NOT RUN AWAY but instead turn aggro as soon as you get tagged. Make it into a trade for hp instead of just soaking bomb damage.
I hate bebop lane because its "dont engage with the robot hiding behind that pillar"

So when their greed compels them to spend all their stamina to run up to you and place a bomb you need to promptly beat his ass

there's currently not any real counters to Celeste's implicit movement advantage, and that is an issue
increased air control and lowered gravity doesn't get meaningfully countered outside of hard CC (stuns essentially) so a good Celeste can just jump and wiggle their mouse to escape silences, slows, etc. forever
I do not think it should be changed. I think the biggest issue with her is simply she has high numbers and a high skill ceiling so people that learn her more are just dominating games more as time passes

the rest of his kit has either been gutted (knives getting dunked in the last patch) or easily counterable (dash gets beat by slowhex and positioning), you are just big and fat and you can point-target execute people
