Yep. Though you can also just bait the walker stomp, then walk a short distance out of the radius, then go back in. It's got a 6 second cooldown.
Any time anyone starts trying to ambush you, just put 1-2 helpers on a nearby trooper wave and then hide in the troopers to buy a lot of time.
