#No Man Sky

I'll have to remove something from my multitool to fit the new grav gun
A shame, that shield is going to live and die without ever being used
rip
Funky things I've observed:
-Hydrogen crystal fields are like brick walls for the colossus (even with, or because of the excavation blade). Probs a bug.
- Once you're out of the expedition, to unlock the garbage stuff
- Get to a salvage planet
- Get to a waste reclamation plant
- Make sure you've got your gravity gun attachment
- Huck garbage into the furnace. It will unlock the flat bed
- The exocraft furnace attachment seems to need a lifetime reclamation value of 3,000+ nanites, and at least one use of the auto-collect service
That formatted weird but whatevs
interesting
Excavation blade is sick on Relic planets. Pulls down even the giant archways.
Good on dissonant planets too to snap up a lot of atlantideum, but radiant shards still need the mining laser
excavation blade?
It's like a snow-plow looking attachment to the front of the colossus. Allows you to just drive through most things and collect a fraction of their resource drop value
i hate this planet dawg, i gotta travel so far across such horrid terrain with a bunch of phys items in my flatbed
What about the wide cabin?
NVM, you need to recycle 75 things
Now, how the fuck do I get the excavation blade bp
And it seem slike the incierator body is laregely useless
Excavation Blade is found in the Exocraft research terminal on The Anomaly
Why's the furnace body considered useless? I've only just messed with it a bit, but seems to work fine
Doesn't seem to count towards unlocking the customization options you unlock by recycling the special trash
It's good for the normal trash tho
But you don't unlock a lot with that
Mm, word. I think I'll probably switch to it after getting these last two treads/wheels though
Aaaaand done. Toxic waste seems the most uncommon to find. Took a couple trips more after finishing radioactive waste.
Looks like you need 50 of each specialty type redeemed to unlock a title/tread
Yep
My greed knows no bounds
44 items
uh actually it fluctuates as I move apparently, the volume that is counted must be smaller than my actual pile
Anyway flamethrower is effective at melting pesky piles of di-hydrogen crystals
I call this technique "letting the cargo settle"
Reviving this thread with... Uh... News.
You wanted Pokemon In Space? We got Pokemon in Space.
palworld: he...hey...that... that's our thing
This is just another layer of things that I have already a lot of stuff for (I have like a dozen pets, now I need to check their Nomanskymon stats)
They keep pulling me back in!
I've discovered who probably is the best shipwright in the community
All by the same person
All of them are
Ah, fair
Yeah, I obviously cannot access such techniques on a console, still neat nonetheless
If you have access to a PC it's possible through
Uh
The thing that connects saves
The name left my mind just now
I want to say save share but that's not it
They're nice ships anyway
I often find it frustrating how blocky ships look if I'm not using offsets
Everything ends up looking like a toy
That's kind of endemic to the particular way the grid-based construction system they used ends up, especially with such a primitive "vocabulary" of shapes
Yeah, I really, really hope they expand it
Unlikely, as evidenced by the past and future of updates, Hello Games likes to just jump around adding new content than refining older stuff, save for terrain generation modernizations
We got some vette parts after the original drop, and we've gotten lots of new multi tool kinds over the year
I doubt we'll see super big additions, but maybe a number of smaller ones
They did seem to do a pass adding new modules, but I doubt they will do anything to officially add any of the building techniques players employ using glitches or external tools
Personally (without glitches or tools) I would have liked the ability to rotate basically all blocks and maybe rotate incrementally and nudge them around KSP style
The fact we are limited to one axis of rotation in most pieces is so frustrating
The fact you can't rotate hab modules is itself kinda silly to me
I have sideways ramps on my ship because I used a glitch and the game does not recognize sideways habs for making doorway or stairway connections, as you may know
There are workarounds but it's always just more awkward than if it was just a part of the game
Yeah
Because the construction of the ship has little to no impact on its actual performance idk why they then decided to make it all so restrictive
My ship has remained the same, with small 1/2 offsets to cover holes, and some smart decoration, and that's that. More advanced techniques produce (often) prettier results but interiors become extremely frustrating, and I value more internal function than just looking pretty
Speaking of, a few of the interior modules still seem to be just decorative despite suggesting they could become functional
The resting module and the medbay, iirc
And there's like very few tools on controlling the paths of circulation besides adding otherwise unnecessary wall modules, just a blank one that removes the doorway would have been good imo
Anyway, these are all laments from a person who can ultimately just play like, space engineers or something if I wanted
I'd love wall "cleaners" and actual closing doors for compartmentalization
I know I can use base doors for now
But they are glitchy
I just drape a flag or cloth or whatever over the doors often
No Man's Sky strangely tends towards a sort of Artisanal interior design
It's a weird mixture of either super clean or rugged
I quite dig it but feels hard to explain to people
By that I mean your choices are often between like, old pottery, cloth, small metal trinkets, and then server racks lol
Hilariously right
The closest I've seen
Is the murderbot series aesthetic
Idk if you have watched it
So it seems to make sense to just drape cloth over some doorways
Have not touched that personally
Was enjoyable, but got pulled into it mostly because of how much the aesthetic reminded me of nomans
Hm, it's actually hard to pinpoint the style
Because yeah, it's very artisanal and loves to use decently aged prefabs, and then you land in a station
And it's all neon, vapour and hard lines
It is indeed a strangely attractive vibe overall, the sort of aesthetic version of mixing two really different foods
No man's sky's aesthetics are like apples and steak
"And yet, it works"
Man, finding triple S-rank gene potential xenos is super hard.
Kinda happy it is, though. I'm exploring the infinite with purpose in a way that ship hunting didn't quite reach
Finally got around to building my first corvette. You may recognize the layout from a fairly well-known build. Copied that and played around with it with way more greebly bits
It looks great
Sleek
well done
Took a crack at making my own original design, applying what I learned from copying the junker and making the opposite: Big, symmetrical, clean. Pulled inspiration from Star Wars and Alien.
I really dig the radar dish face, the exposed spinal canyon of goodies, and the big engine array. Not terribly happy about the insides. The interior suffered from some of the off-set clipping, so it's a bit smaller than you would expect. And I just never found a spot I was happy with to put another ramp or elevator hatch.
Thanks!
The interior is just one floor of Ambassador habs arrayed like:
⬜⬜
⬛🚪⬜⬜⬜🧑✈️
⬜⬜
with the door being the thunderbird elevator entrance.
There's some clipping from the anchor points of the titan engines on the backmost habs but they're still fully functional. And there's technically a 2nd floor I could build stairs to, but it's so cluttered with clipping components there's no point.
Really regretting the ambassador tileset, because the lighting is rough in stations and it's very difficult thinking of ways to decorate around clipping blocks.
Found a triple-S poison flying pancake in the Euclid galaxy
Hello chat I've started nms and I just built my first corvette.
Funny reddit post (not mines): https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/s/p9ACvJwrUd
It comes.
Got ready for the new No mans update in honour of the upcoming darktide playable class
My unintentionally Land Raider shaped corvette
Noice
oh hey the white horse
White horse?
white base from gundam, misremembered its english name
its chinese name directly translates to white wooden horse/white trojan horse
Oh I see it, I think its just White Base in english
Bees, clearly it's the apiary update
wait winged got hired by hello games?

A new danger has appeared in the No Man's Sky universe. Something terrible hangs in the sky: a huge, foreboding Hive-like ship, unlike anything we've seen before. It has nigh-on impenetrable defences, not least a swarm of smaller and nimbler battle drones which must be neutralised to get close enough to target its primary weapon systems, notably...
Also, if you can believe it... It's a relatively small update, with only content related to The Swarm expedition... So I do not think this is the Update that marks the 10th Anniversary.
That'd be August, so....
Travellers. Get ready.
Small updates like this happen every 40~50 days
The big ones usually take 70~ days
YAY
I'm a weaver
I got lost. I did get royal signal though
Sage here
Is this live? How do you start it?
You need to get to the anomaly and there to the expedition terminial
Thanks!
A lot of people hate this expedition, but I haven't seen anyone notice how a lot of smaller POI have been redone and redecorated
How’d you get it
Not available yet, this was on the trailer
Ah, aight so I didn’t misread 3.4
Nope
TBH
I wish we could play the expedition with our nomal characters
Would make it way more enjoyable IMO
And quicker
I’m not sure I like the whole faction idea. On a lit and sublit level it makes sense but I’ve also already seen “ours is the best faction”
Yeah
In world is not a competition
It's cooperation
But the ladderboard makes people go
Weird
I have not done it yet because of this
Sadly, that's not going to change
I fear at the current rate we may not even be able to complete it.
We are just at 10%
And we are still 5 objectives behind
Not the first time they fake results, it's ok
Also, this obejctive ends on the 10th anniversary of the game
It's so obviously a delay
Fair fair. It's still a bit long. The tasks aint really interesting sadly. If they are doable at all. People already try their best to sabotage the whole thing
They plaster digging spots and crashed drones with bases
The quick menu -> report pipeline is something I always do as soon as I land
Yeah, but it feels like they cant keep up with it
