#Elden Ring (DLC hype room)
1 messages · Page 78 of 1
(especially if you came in with a Bleed build lol)
Recluse, as it turns out, is very fragile
makes sense
bit embarassing dying three times to Isshin first phase like that after how much i perfected him when i played the game last, but at least i got his full fight in one go after some warming up
you know, coming back to it, i do miss the unbridled aggression of Sekiro
just running at a guy and fucking spamming the attack button
also just, being able to interrupt enemy attacks even on bosses, controlling the flow of the fight
thats been one of the most fun parts of Raider in NR
actually the mini-staggers in general in NR
I do think it goes something like Sekiro (not that I fully finished the game, stopped at around the fight and demon ;p), Radagon, and then the rest in similar orders.
Though the proper final boss in various Soulsborne games does end up feeling like it ought to be the DLC bosses.
Okay guys I need y’all to keep it 💯 is Nightreign fun for Elden Ring gamers who like trying new funny builds and experimenting
Damn
Nightreign is much more fast-paced than ER and you don't have that much time to mess with builds. Or at least not as much as you'd probably like. However, the relic system is potentially pretty robust in terms of "trying out some goofy shit" and since characters can use any weapon without stat requirement, there's more messin' about than you'd imagine...buuuut you do have to get a little lucky in getting certain weapon drops.
A relevant question I suppose is whether the game incentivises you use the weapons you find, or to try to hunt down the same kind of weapon you use every time.
Either or for me
Moreover, while you can use any weapon regardless, each character has strengths they lean into that reward a certain playstyle. Most have unique movesets for preferred weapons, for example--the Raider wants to use big weapons for big damage, Ironeye is obviously aiming for ranged weapons, Wylder does well with greatswords, etc.
I mean I kind of appreciate the game going “figure it out” instead of just handing you what you want
But also I don't have full relics setup for specific weapons yet
I would 100% be going for katanas if I had the relics for +3 to katanas
My bad
Also, each class has a unique Remembrance relic and some of them may as well take up a relic slot permanently with how good they are. Especially with the Guardian, who can do his job way better with the one that draws aggro whenever he raises his shield.
Relics for +9 katanas
Is there one for Executor?
I'm not Sekiro-brained for the Executor so you're gonna have to look that up yourself.

While character skill is active, unlocking use of cursed sword restores HP (obtained from remembrance)
Executor one.
Ye I know that but I didnt think it was too good because it requires forcing the unlock
Unless it counts towards any parry
I honestly wouldn't say so
Every character has preset stats and you take whatever loot the game throws at you that runs on those stats
And those stats have been simplified
Arcane is only status buildup now, for example
The Dragon Communion Seal, if you get it from a drop, is a faith item because its a seal and all seals are faith
You can get a little funky with the relics but largely I'd say the appeal of Nightreign is more having novel experiences in the moment than tinkering around with 'a build'
Cause my main issue with the cursed sword relics is during downtime when I'm not maintaining aggro it doesnt kick off
You can and sometimes do wind up with a synergistic set of equipment, but that's all decided by the dice
For example, last game I was in, I was playing Raider, the colossal weapon hyperarmor character
My relics gave me attack power on takin damage, and even more if I tank a hit with my hyperarmor active skill
And the items I got wound up providing a large amount of DR for a lengthy period upon takin damage
So I'd pop skill, tank the hit, and berserk while my DR was up
But you can't like
Rely
On getting that sort of setup
Okay so it’s more like a drafting roguelike than a build science thing
Yeh
Like uhh
Lemme see if I can show you my build
My executor build
This is all on the default starting katana
So I run to a mine, grab upgrade materials, and then just aim to grab a 2nd katana on the run for offhand
Then when I do I usually dual wield for 3-4 different status buildups
Holy, poison, bleed, and w/e is on the 2nd katana
Eahlch character has pre determined stats so leveling them up automatically allocates them, with each character having a certain gimmick or focus from defending friends to magic explosions to a pilebunker
Exactly
You have 6 weapon slots and two talisman slots, and can earn perks by beating bosses
And all weapons have stat riders like 'extra fire resist' or 'improved counter attacks' that are active even wen you don't have them in hand
So you are killin bosses for bonuses, sifting through loot to find optimized riders for your playstyle, and grinding levels, all on the move
^ in response to this
Its really fun!
It's also a lot easier to pick up and run tbh since expeditions are like 30 to 40 minutes or less if you die
Very fast paced, lots of action, lots of bosses
Unless you do the longest night 2 strat
It's fun until it isn't, then it feels very miserable.
Some day 1/2 bosses are awful and can just ruin your day with little you can do about it.
2nd imo
the boosted weapons are usually not that wild
Yeah the rng is both good and bad in a way
to switch off the one your character is already good at
Runs will feel different but they can be rough too
esp if you do things like take the more interesting relics that double down
So far I fuck with it and I enjoy the variety of characters. It's probably more fun with a squad of friends too
is the starting weapon as strong as a found blue/purple if you use upgrade materials?
Yes
But be mindful they don't usually have a passive or element
So while the stat scaling is similar they might not have a specific art or element or passive
good to know, means I'm just gonna have to prioritize mines more I think
Yeh the benefit of having a build for your starting weap is it's usually pretty consistent
My starting katana is better than plenty of the weapons I find cause it's triple element
Or status or w/e (assuming I understand status/elements right
)
Yea I'd only upgrade the base weapon if you have a relic that REALLY pumps it up
Like yeah if I get scarlet rot on Executor's katana and turn its skill into seppuku
Maybe I'll pump it to purple
Yeh
Like without my build most katanas are bettwr
Minus the uhh
Bone katana
Cause wtf that thing just kinda sucks
Only poison is passable on exec
Cause his base katana has bleed
Hmm…
Is there anything stopping iron eye from just going “fuck it” and just isn’t melee dex/arcane weapons?
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) Moreover, while you can use any weapon regardless, each character has strengths they lean into that …
Not really, no. But the Ironeye shines with Dex weapons, particularly ranged (obviously).
Ironeye can in fact be a mini executor in a pinch yes
And having a curved greatsword in the pocket is probably wise
Yeah, if you find a decent or even good dex melee weapon, take it.
Additional observation: Recluse is not good at reviving people. Or maybe it was just the spells we had
Huh, I think Ironeye’s mark does a burst of damage after you deal enough damage to a target
yeah I've noticed this too
Annoyingly hard to see, but 376 damage with a radahn bow r2 without mark and 831 with mark
So about ~455 at level 10 maybe?
Oh yeah- if you look at the mark icon, see when it 'bursts' and widens up considerably (and then disappears)?
The mark 'pops' for percent HP damage after enough damage is received
The mark popping also forces a small stagger
816 with mark after 7 shots of the normal bow with mark, 401 after 6 with mark
425 after 7 shots with mark, 364 after 6 shots without mark
Ooh, interesting 👀
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) The mark popping also forces a small stagger
And hot tip is that reapplying the mark actually resets the progress towards a pop
That's why the relics that extend mark duration are actually good- you can set it, and have longer to work towards the pop before it wears off and you need to reapply
Oh unrelated question
Does doing all of the remembrance quests before doing the final boss do anything special?
is it not just a percentage modifier?
It probably is tbh
i'd have assumed that the ~120% increase was the source
But we had nothing else to go off of so 🤷♀️
fair
depends on which character
all quests? for everyone? no
but some characters get new scenes, or even alternate endings
👀
not too many
afaik its ||Recluse, Wylder, and Ironeye|| that get the endings
so only ||three || in total
😭
dont worry at least two of them are morally fraught!
the regular ending was very pretty, even if I'm.... not entirely sure what happened
||You dissolve or offer the Night-Lord rune to the figure, and then it produces / allows captured grace to reach the Night? And convince it to leave?||
||And the figures on the Horizon, the Night-Lord, and the giant tree-thing are all in some sense the same being?||
If anyone wants to do some matches let me know ||I have shrouded city map event ||and I need to do Wylder's last quest step and matchmaking isn't helping 😭
It feels kinda like ||The night itself was a big black hole that just sucked everything into a nothingness soup until the end, considering the Lands Between end up more-or-less the same as Elden Ring after the credits||
||what the hell is Ironeye's ending? Isn't he just a merc? ||
I havent done his directly, I've been hearing it mostly from my friend
iirc he's ||one of Those Who Live in Death||
...huh
might be able to hop on with a buddy, one sec
you got a password?
No I can set one up and DM if needed
loading in lol
Getting pretty decent at this mf game
||from the thing you get from the primordial night lord, sounds like a tribe pulled some bullshit to basically cause the calamity thing to happen so might have convinced the night lord being to do everything so by beating him and giving it to the old dude he somehow convinces it to be chill again||
well for that part, ||isn't the most likely candidate for the group of people to cause something like this - if its something even connected to the main game at all - the Nox? Who have an association with the Night, are waiting for a Night Lord, and definitely seem like the type of people to create a fucked up lifeform?||
||Theres even the way some of the night 1 + 2 bosses tie into the Nightlord thematically, and how the Aspect of Night is who gives you the Nox Priestess + Dancer combo. And has a Moonlight Greatsword, and gothic silvery armor!||
||Caligo|| beaten, only the big kahuna left
God damn what a dogshit boss that ||dragon|| is
||I surprisingly cleared it first try lmao||
||only one I had trouble with was libra
||
I've only fought ||dragon twice, cleared it both, first try for the 5 people I was playing with + me||
its still kinda annoying imo
||libra gave my team the most trouble but I find them easier than Adel after learning the fight||
And I have now beaten ||The big kahuna||
||Maybe it was because I played Ironeye but that felt kind of wicked easy||
||I think it having two healthbars is massively in ironeyes favor||
||As your mark pops take half as much HP to pop since it's HP based||
||It was the only boss I was able to consistently break marks on||
I read now that if you reapply the Mark on Ironeye before it gets broken or expires, it retains the damage progress
so it's useful for bigger bosses where you might not be able to pop it in one mark
Ooooh that is good to know
Fought ||Caligo|| for the first time, oh my gods that was the coolest looking boss fight ever
We lost but like… wow. We want to fight her again
Guys help please, I started a new Elden ring save (haven’t finished my first game but wanted to do a different build but also liked my old one) should I go str and int so that I can go for frostbite (really like the visuals and themes) or should I go dex/str/faith for godslayer stuff?
Both seem really cool and I like both
Pick one first, you get options later on to completely respec your character if you want
That’s kinda the hard part I’m struggling with rn
Because I can get either one fully before renalla
I mean you can always respec when you get there fully right?
I mean, vig and str seems like a safe bet early either way
Also to me, both sound cool but I like the dex or str and faith idea a lot, but it makes it tricky later on with the later on stuff since like leyndell
I never really respec though so this is alien to me
Which is fine as far as I know
Black Flame is a very solid spell
Even in leyndell
To endgame
Ye I either want to go black flame or str int for frostbite
So like any greatsword
Except maybe the one from ranni
Paired with cold infusion and stuff
It was still one of my workhorses on my int/fth caster in Farum Azula
The ranni one is str/int scaling anyway
For str/int I liked Cold Clayman’s Harpoon with Chilling Mist a lot
cold nightrider glaive...
The animation for chilling mist has a hitbox so you can use it as a spear-sweep
And it does a giant spike of frost buildup, enough to oneshot proc it on lots of enemies
Ye
That’s why I’m not sure
Both are strong
Both are cool
Both look awesome
And both have weapons I like
Chilling Mist Dual Rapier carried hard
Frozen needle being locked to impaling thrust hurts my soul there
My trick to not being disappointed was to not know that thing existed until like months later
Lol
but yeah lotta weapons have odd choices
It’s such a cool weapon that does a cool unique thing! But you can only use its cool thing mainhand and it’s locked to a very just ok ash
i wish that more of the wacky funtimes unique weapons didn't have locked ashes
they loosened up some with SotE
but i'd love for from to like
turn back around, go "hmm, let's do an update"
and then just drop a fuckton of stuff like that (and a couple hybrid catalysts) and a dlc2
You can at least combo frozen needle with a buckler or something and not feel like you’re wasting space I guess
come on...another one eldellion dollars
Or a torch to reset frostbite, lmao.
I love frozen needle for not just being a statstick though. The fact that you can use the thrusting sword feints to shoot rules
ye
No clue at this point what I want, BUT this would be my first str/dex focused build
Either way
Like str/int or str/dex/faith
At any rate for godslayer’s note that you probably want to stop at 14 or 20 str depending on whether you plan on 2hing the sword or not
It’s mostly a dex/faith weapon
Not a single part of it seems bladed, dex weapon despite being as wieldly as a marble column, good stuff
Weapon Art is goddamn chaotic since the ol' buff though
Im going black flame :)
the skeleton appears....
Huh, apparently our bios has a setting to make things more performance focused. Wonder if that would help nightreign run better
Or maybe the pc will just explode, one or the other
Push the red button!
(Who’s the artist?)
Cute
This appears to be the source
https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/1l39tea/humbled_by_the_first_boss/
For future reference, artists need to be sourced- why did that proxy as Rose
Tricephalos seemed wicked easy to me 😭
Maybe we just got lucky
They’re the starter boss so them being easier makes sense
Rather than customizable characters, Nightreign chose to focus on a handful of unique champions, trading flexibility for deeper specialization. While they don't use the character creation facedata, there is still something if we peel back their helmets.
Song used: Korok Forest (Night) - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild OST
finally opened the artbook today, heres Rev's concept
some people here might like it
excellent
That would be so cool as an alternate skin 🥺
show WYLDER JOHN Night rain
sadly match making isn't doing well for me today so its probably good for me to take a break until larger stablization update this weekend.
We've found a relic that lets us play bonk Revenant
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Gsbm9fBboAARiUT?format=jpg&name=large 📎
We have also realized that we have no idea how to play guardian
Either that or the class just isn't fun for us
My first few runs were as the Guardian and there's a bit to be desired with it. Large HP and an amazing ult doesn't make up for the fact that there's no innate aggro function for a class that kiiiiiiiiiiinda needs it.
Two ways to make the Guardian work though is:
- The relic that draws aggro when holding up a shield
- Weapons that do poison/rot/frost/whatever; anything that has status and inflicts DOT since each tick draws aggro
I'd say 3. have a team that coordinates well but that's just a given regardless of class.
Also the shield focus seems like a liability, a lot of attacks just bypass shields entirely
A fair few, yeah. Most grab attacks. Like anything it's a "know when to do this" gameplan which is admittedly harder with Nightreign given how difficult it can be to face the same boss again.
I believe the special guard stance does help with some of that, though not grabs yes
The zeitgeist with Guardian seems to be leveraging his charged guard counters for poise breaking
He has charged guard counters? 👀
Yup!
With halberds specifically, part of his unique character moveset
Okay, that seems good
You can charge halberd guard counters just like a normal R2

It's every time. Rule one is don't talk about how tanky you are. The game is always listening
To be fair, the Revenant never cared how tanky you are
My honest gripe about Guardian is much in line with Slimnoids. I got lucky on relics and had the aggro from the start of playing him. But the relics that modified his skill are what I'm really after. Specifically the one that gives a damage boost for as long as it's active. That then coupled with a relic that prolongs the whirlwind and makes it recharge faster is game changing
Hundred Hand Slap has always been pure fucking death
Damage boost to you and allies*
It's great for camp clear because you can just put jobbers in air jail and stomp them all at once. But without the damage boost against bosses you might as well forget you have it
I think it needs to do slightly more poise damage
Maybe thats in a relic I've not gotten or have over looked
Anyway the Bird is fun. Clutching with the Ult is among the raddest dopest shit I've ever done in one of these games
The ult leaves you invulnerable as long as you’re holding down the buttons right?
it makes your allies invincible, don't know if it applies to you too
It makes your allies invincible!?
if you hold the ult, yeah
as long as you hold it and they are inside the area
it also always successfully revives I believe?
Does it have a time limit?
Probably, i don't know how long though
Huh, I guess there's a relic that can give the Guardian's ult a healing ability too?
Yep
Damn that's pretty baller.
(Big boy plot spoilers, me trying to piece together what I know after beating the final boss but not 100%ing the game)
I'm starting to think that the Night ||is some sort of stable time loop situation||
Though I haven't done all of the remembrances yet, so I expect to find more stuff that throws what I'm reading out of whack
||Suspecting strongly that Wylder is an alternate timeline version of Heolstor, and that the Primordial Night Lord's Rune is something his 'massacred tribe' made to prevent the Night which got their asses killed by Marika||
||Because in doing so/as part of doing so, they learned about Destined Death's separation from the elden ring, as the PNL rune has a strong resemblance too it and was part of a plot to 'cheat a god' by a 'cutting-gifted tribe' that revealed 'the sin of the Erdtree'||
||Anyhow, this caused him to fall to despair and call the Night into being with the rune, as described in Heolstor's relic||
There's definitely SOME ||time travel involved, as the post-Heolstor cutscene shows the root giant shaped like Heolstor departing from the Lands Between, while the night progressing is indicated by phantoms of that same giant approaching on the horizon- he leaves one timeline as he's banished, and arrives in another Night in another world||
And yourself, the time limit is for as long as you channel your "Aura Farming Pose" but during it I've tanked all kinds of crazy stuff. You can still get grabbed during it tho. So keep your eyes on Adel if you're using it against him.
the most notable thing about the ||PNL Rune is that its described as something like a Great Rune||
||which implicitly says that it isn't one||
||Given the tribe maybe-being Numen or Nox related, and the sin of the Erdtree maybe being in this case the mass human sacrifice that helped bring it about, I wonder if its not a 'Mimic Rune'||
||Yeeee, I figured it was something the tribe conjured up with power they took from the Elden Ring and/or the rune of destined death||
||Not an original component of the ring but an artifact of power derived from it||
I wouldn't ||say its like Destined Death specifically though, its much closer to Marika's Rune / The Crucible Shape||
mhm
||Heolstor's odd because he seems to have like three origins||
||The Night of the Lord seems to describe something like the Shattering, the Recluse's quest has her 'gnawling' that she birthed in the deep woods with cursed magic, and then its got some weird Nox connections / seems to be older? The 'Primordial' Night, and the weird prison-like seals on its first phase?||
and then ||theres the way it is ambigiously also all the other Nightlords, like they're aspects of it||
||Elden Ring base game does have a Lord Of Night mentioned often in Nox lore||
I can talk about the lore of the Night in basegame/dlc Elden Ring
the Nox in base game confuse me
I feel like I dont have a strong grasp on their motivations or general thrust at all, can't really get a solid narrative out of them
They like the stars, except when they try to kill them and get merc'd in turn.
They distrust the fingers, but their priestesses wear hats based on them and the swordhands of Night are covered in fingerprints.
They work with Ranni, except when they actually kill her friends (and she steals the fingerslayer blade from them)
They want the Night - is that the Night like the Swordhands of Night, a Lightless Dark, or the Night like the Sword of Night and Flame, a torrent of starlight?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
what the hell does Eternal Darkness' text mean when it says it's
brought about its ruin made manifest.```
I feel like they were pretty sus with the mind control drugs though
and its a very fromsoft story if they kinda brought their own ruin about? but idk
Is Eternal Darkness about them finding no readily available divine will, and falling to despair because of it? Is it about Astel literally stealing their sky and putting them in da dark?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I suppose overall they seem like they want to control fate
alright I gotchu
the Nox come from the slaves who were raised in darkness by the Hornsent in the Lands of Shadow
Their motivation is relatively clear in that they do not fuck w/ the Hornsent OR the people of the Erdtree, they distrust all gods and want to bring about a Lord of Night, who will use the Fingerslayer Blade to destroy the Fingers, and to create a signpost of stars, a Black Moon, that allows them to assert control over fate and stars in lieu of the Greater Will
Eternal Darkness isn't about finding no readily available divine will, it's that they saw that the will that dwells in the absolute darkness of night IS the Greater Will, which hails from the lightless void between the stars, and their ruin was in their attempt to usurp the Greater Will's dominance over stars and night they drew its attention, and in vengeance it set Astel upon them
Basically, their Night is like the lightless dark of the Greater Will's origin, but they wish to control the stars themselves instead of the Greater Will doing it
Night is symbolic of those who would commune with the stars (which are visible at night), the Astrologers and sorcerers; the Carian royal family, who were originally astrologers whose neighbors were the giants, are symbolized by a moon as well because unlike the Nox, the Carian agenda (that of Ranni) is to bring about an Elden Lord, not a Lord of Night, but to elevate their Order to the heavens and bring about a different kind of undivine Order that would still have gods, but gods that remain at a distance from the world on their 10,000 year journey through the heavens
basically a lot of the political factions in Elden Ring's worlds are people who have Opinions about Gods and what they should be doing on Earth (or if they should be on Earth at all) and the backstabbing between Ranni and the Nox's Black Knife Assassins is brought on by what amounts to Elden Ring world leftist infighting
Ranni got the Black Knives on-side because she said she would totally shank Godwyn the Golden and bring about the end of the Erdtree's power, which she very much intended to do, but then they caught on to the fact that she wasn't going to get rid of the Elden Ring and tell the Greater Will to fuck off, she was just going to steal the throne and run away with throne, Ring, consort, and godhead
and they (understandably) went "hey what the fuck"
...and also marika is ambiguously but imo plausibly backing ranni
Maybe. It’s not fully clear.
But yeah Ranni’s approach to winning the game of thrones is “declare yourself queen, marry a king, gather all the imperial regalia into a sack and then run as fast and as far away as possible”
In the belief that if you do this good enough everyone just has to quit the whole royalty business
gather the imperial regalia into a sack and then jump into the Infinite Pit Of Infinite Darkness
and so no one has access to the imperial regalia to go "i've got the crown, i have the Divine Right Of Kings"
Not infinite, she’s coming back in 10,000 years to check on the Lands Between and see if they’re getting on alright with no kings or queens or shit
In short, she’s doing what the Black Knives want but also keeping the crown and throne for herself ‘cuz she kinda suspects that if they get broken, some knob will just put them back together and declare himself king, and the Black Knives went “well that’s not on you said you’d get rid of it”
I'm just not entirely sure the Greater Will is around to even tell to fuck off anymore
the banishing of the Nox is basically the most direct thing its ever credited with in the text, right. Its standout, and its hard to tell if its even being given agency directly there or the Astel (as its child) is being treated as acting on its behalf.
The fingers at least seem to be mostly grasping in the dark
I think she was in the sense that she doesn't want to be God anymore
cut content has Radagon pretty explicitly backing Miquella, for what its worth
before Loretta got her current character, her type of knights was a gift from Radagon to Miquella to help him in getting the Elden Ring
but yeah this is a read I can roundaboutly get behind
especially when you have the Nightlord ||physically carving a wound into the current of the flow of stars in its bossfight, to bring about its night.||
||I mean the metaphor is that its cutting off the flow of things to force its own vision of the night, right? Especially when the cuts an eye, idk. The vibe I get is almost solipsistic.||
||It would rather look towards the empty battlefield and itself than to the skies, and its nightclouds cover the world and prevent anyone else from looking to the skies either, while it draws the world into itself.||
Honestly the Nox aren't particularly different from the Hornsent with this read
Mortal actors seeking to control the cycles of life and fate, often through lots of bloody, bloody murder
I hope there’s gonna be tutorials on how to recreate the nightrein characters in Elden ring
Sentient Pests are officially my BIG FAVORITE
my favorite track in the OST
I managed to help get another friend through all 8 Nightlords last night
at the end we had a 5 run winstreak 😌
shoutout Noklateo's secret 🙏 its a real one
Oh hey
Anyone figure out how to parry uhh
All the breath attacks yet?
I can parry like 75% of em but then I get hit
https://xbsky.app/profile/kabewski.bsky.social/post/3lqwz2iqpuk2j ah they do have a bsky
Poor child
It's ok they'll rez
They can't res when dead
Unrelated, Guardian remembrance:
||Raider is lovely 😌 ||
||Also they really did call the "flying begone" weapon Ictarus huh||
Skill issue, simply parry the death mechanic /s
It's a little on the nose
Lol
I do really like Guardians journey it's pretty cute.
Guardian spoilers

No jokes their dynamic is good and I'm happy it plays out that way
Had a question about getting two bosses in one night. I've had the Crucible knight/hippo combo before. But last night I had Ancient Dragon into Dragonkin Soldier. I was with randoms and have no idea what the cause was?
||Did the guardian just fucking kill that merchant||
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) Unrelated, Guardian remembrance:

||Also they really did call the "flying be||… 📎
Ye
Damn
afaik that's just how those fights are. Like those are specific pairs, just like the demi human queen with the swordsman or the 3 mounted dudes
I think its just random if you get
the extra boss
theres a pop up about how "the Night grants us no respite" or whatever when it triggers
Gooootcha
its an event, like the random night horde spawns, afaik
We no diffed him which was awesome, that was my first Adel W
honestly I tend to like the double boss
extra runes if the runs good
and no time limit to worry about, they refill your flasks between the two
Crucible Knight + Hippo is different because thats collectively 'one encounter'
||Is that what we’re calling her now||

I've only got the dragon once so far and I have no idea how I'm supposed to beat it
I heard you have to hit its head somehow?
ancient dragon?
yeah
it kept running outside the circle, which didn't help
the lightning is dangerous
You're right that was uncouth my bad
(I was solo bc matchmaking is borked atm)
I think its one of the harder night 2 bosses in the game
Especially to solo
(Callback boss) ||Dancer can be worse||, just because they do an insane amount of multiple-elemental damage, but they aren't too tanky
its just messing up against them can go bad really quickly
Also, we are learning how to actually play Guardian and it’s fun 😌
How to actually play guardian involves never using your skill
Oh? 👀
The whirlwind pulses and drags people into a small area so you can weapon art or big aoe stomp
We see
its pretty good for bringing downed people up again, too
esp if you get the longer lasting mod
Or at least stopping there timer
lets the guardian shield back up and still keep ticking, yeah
Also two handing shields
Hm?
Why is it so much damage, it insane how much better he is with shield instead of halberds
Wait what
holding a shield in two hands
you'll get more stability that way
bonking with shields has been a meme build since DS2 lol
Maybe it's just because halberd options leave me wanting
But holy moly you stance break whoever you want with a good shield in your hands and charged power attacks
Stance breaking? In our elden ring nightreign?
its like
actually viable in NR
it ups the Guard Boost by a lot
our Guardian was hitting 160+ pretty quickly, pretty consistently
…actually let us test something
gamers, my friend bought me nightreign so i guess it is time for me to play it
Revenant, here i come
You can guard counter and riposte with shields
not that I've played that much, mind you
now they just need to give casting tools ripostes and backstabs lol
Oh ya class specific move sets go nuts! Guardian sheild jitsus are very funny
Also that aura farming shit wylder does grappling into flaming blade auto tracking over head is absolute peak
Well thats more a mod for that skill than unique move set
But still it's peem
Is it just us or does bell bearing hunter seem a bit overtuned right now
ok ngl i tried out Recluse, she seems really fun
though it feels like you would want to like
spam her ability
to get fp back on every hit and build the uh, cocktail
Red floating swords guy is def one of the tougher high level field bosses
He's caused more party wipes for people Ive played with than anyone else
The fun part is that if your allies get hit by elemental attacks you can get fp from them too
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) spam her ability
And it refills a lot of fp so you don’t need to use it too often
It's not just you he's ruthless
me when i fucking get you Elemer of the Briar
i asume your fp increases with levels or items
so you can cast more stuff
Also different elements can make different molotovs, have fun memorizing them all
Yep!
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) i asume your fp increases with levels or items
neat
I think he gets big bullied by magic btw
But he stays on the avoid list. Rn he's alone there tho, I'm actually running back what I said about the bears if you can guarantee knockdownz the bears are manageable
Makes sense, though when he spawns in the castle it’s harder to abuse that
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) I think he gets big bullied by magic btw
I liked this one someone made
Lol holy moly
the visuals help me
I haven't had a ton of trouble with the BBH but also I've mostly fought him as Executor and Raider, who are probably the best fit for beating him down face to face
Definitely yeah
If my melee go-too was wylder or something I could see it being chancier
Cuz he does do A LOT of damage
It's just fairly predictable damage
afaik the Warming Stone also gives a DD health cut to enemies
its more like +% max hp for allies, -% max hp for enemies
and the non-lightning breath heals if you hit allies
Oh that reminds me-
Is it some relic that's making evergaol bosses sometimes have 50% HP
It sure seems to happen a lot but I've yet to get that effect on any relic I've found, maybe I'm unlucky
Oh no I mean
Half their bar is greyed out like a destined death effect
Not just them being wimpy
Gotta get that relic that gives me a key at the start
Both of my best runs where we were facing down the nightlord at level 13-14 were when we had a guaranteed key
Seem super useful
||You’re part of the flock now so you can live||
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) I do really like Guardians journey it's pretty cute.
Guardian spoilers
|| G: "ALLOWING A THREAT T||…
Ya 😌
They all seem to get along to a degree but I love that everyone is fond of the Bird for the most part
Wait a second...
I see you Gravity Blast.
I'm happy that hes both a bird and has an indian accent/played by an indian
Oh that sure is Invokering ain't it
and hes a supportive tank
it's so much easier to clear the castle when you get the knights
The general idea is, even if it's not the first time this has been executed, but whereas most of the spells are distinct it is very funny how Deafening/Gravity Blast occupy the same space in the triangle.
Flaming Skull on the same side, too, clearly there are only so many ways for magic to manifest
Now they just need to give 'em a style with 60 spells like Classic Invoker
Ya it suits him so well!
I love my big bird friend
I'm more successful with wylder but sometimes we suffer for the ones we love
The funniest thing to me is Ironeye having an American accent (more or less)
Tank support is one of my favorite playstyles in coop games so he's up my alley
Think it was only around 27 or so? Either way it's an example to my knowledge of how sometimes overly complex designs can lead to simple gameplay in practice, since by virtue of 27 spells being impossible to balance you could focus on the actual good ones and get away with ignoring the rest.
But that's dota and not Nightreign.
I'm deeply infatuated with the play style and health pool. And his Aura Farming Ultimate ability is just icing.
Also recluse is a fav of mine too
I should try her, I played duchess first time last night she's cool I just feel completely lost on how to build out her kit
I'm stuck, unsure of who to pick up as my third. It's a toss up between any of the proper casters or one of the status effect goobers
Are y'all soloing mostly?
If I'm playing a character I haven't played or taking a stab at new bosses
I'm not in the business of subjecting randoms to my buffoonery
I was only able to solo when I was playing the other day
Maintenance?
just couldn't find matches
Oh brutal
might have been since I only got it recently and no one is playing the earlier bosses or something
I know that apparently the queues for remembrences are brutal so I didn't even try for those
thats just how (remembrance spoilers) ||Undead people talk in ER|| #lorefact
||Godwyn had a thick creole accent and it just wasnt relevant to the Tarnished's journey so it didn't come up||
jump into first game of nightreign
both teammates afk at the start
are these bots or something
passed away in the 30 minute queuetime, rip
i feel like i've just been trolled
It's been getting worse tbh
My Raider was afk all of night one and we still won anyway because me and my duchess were on our jobs
I haven't had afk folks yet but only had competent players so far
Are you playing recluse?
yes
it's her ultimate art
Ok so her ult marks all targets
i tried using it and nothing happened
this is why I asked about solo, trusting the whims of internet fate seems woeful
And when you hit them with spells or attacks, you get health and fp back
It's also net positive if you use a spell
It also can revive downed players with at least one segment
it says it marks all nearby targets with blood sigils
Yup
You get health and mana back from hitting them with spells or attacks while marked
i assume it doesn't work on bosses since i tried it and unless i was using the wrong inputs entirely it didn't trigger
It works on bosses
It's not like a alignment or bleed build up, it's just a way for you to regen stuff
It does a bit of damage too on the actual ability use
It's also not a map wide, just the area around you so you have to be around medium range i think for it to mark them with a sigil
It's honestly really good on big bosses because it gives you a way to get mana and health back when you run out of flasks inevitably
Stockpiling starlight shards is also a good idea to keep things rolling
YEAHHHH MY MAN
I have only had positive experiences with randoms
uhhhh it shares at least a good part of its design with the Elden Ring, I guess?
its probably runic blood magic
The only time I was solo queue and having a bad time was entirely my fault because I couldn't lock in and was just throwing like a punk
ohhhh I was giving a lore explanation not a gameplay one mb
yeah just tried for my first expedition and the two players i matched with were afk for the beginning and then acted like bots after
lets me bonk 👍 thank you recluse
if those were real players i genuinely have no fucking idea what they were doing
the other recluse just ran at a golem boss and died instantly
Still figuring things out I imagine
so did the raider
Lol
they both rushed the boss without doing anything, died, one of them left, then i just quit out the lobby
Well it's a good time for you to familiarize yourself with pinging the map, thats the one problem I run into in randoms sometimes they're scared to take charge
Might be useful
ok these people seem to have skins on so they at least are unlikely to be bots or afk
I have faith. This is the run no doubt
we're going to kill the nightlord in one go
trust
it's gonna be a generational run
I sometimes haunt the first available boss lobbies because I like to help out the new folks
Also it's just super familiar to me now and sometimes you just need a W
(I like that all the passives are the characters faces and a lil' star)
I'll play with you if you're okay with a bad john sekiro
I'm also down to play with anyone
Ya I should stop solo queuing with randoms. I have no reason to be doing this
got funny flames of frenzy while walking and rain of stars while walking
time for dog
ngl i got carried but that was fun
Yippee
slop: eaten
i figured out that lingering attacks are really good for regenerating fp
Stiiiiiiiiiiill in a dreeeaaaam
SLOP EATERRRRRR
i had one of the fucking like
crystal shooting ones
and i just popped it and raked in the fp
lmao
Priestess
really didn't have any fight left in you huh
should i pass time?
Up to you. It changes up the map
Did you get a shifting Earth pop up?
said shifting earth settled?
Oh fuck! That's right, passing time makes shifting Earth events go away
oh...
My bad
welp
If you play the game enough, the shifting earth comes back
Its not gone forever
Though I think its one of the coolest features in the game tbh
i got a chalice for Recluse also
Yeah those are your relic loadouts
imo you should be able to spend murk to force a shifting earth
I've collected a big stash of it and it'd be nice to have a sink thats not
just rolling for relics
all of my relics rn are pretty awful for Recluse
You should have remembrances to do now
Those are a source of class specific relics that are really really good
how?
East Hall up on the little platform surrounded by books there's a journal
Ye
Woah nice
gonna have to try Ironeye at some point
gonna see if i can do the remembrance
i have no idea what i'm supposed to be doing here
the map seems to have something to say
ok so i need to kill enemies in an expedition
i guess i'll do that tommorow then
man these boss descriptions are so cool
The Pests description doesn't even begin to do them justice
horrendous
i'll be sure to take a pic of my scream of terror when i see them
ngl it was very funny as Recluse to just stand back and spam spells on Gladius in the fight
also ngl
i COMPLETELY biffed it at the beginning
did my ult right as Gladius fucked off into the triple threat and missed it entirely
It maybe more like
we shall see!
i might be going for the 100% on this game ngl
idk how hard it's going to be but Elden Ring was fun to do it in so we'll see
I know I'm tryin!
me when i reign all over that night
she night on my lord til i reign
i'll be winning is what i mean
generational run
Believe it
I gain energy whenever I see fanart that was clearly drawn after an unmasking video.
406
shaking my fist at Bonfirevn for releasing the Recluse model viewing video with the horny thumbnail before the final nightlord one
show me ||Heolstor|| coward
or at least like Sentient Pest.
I can see the Nightfarers anytime, I want to see the models I can't normally because they're trying to beat my ass 😠
…huh. Apparently there is a way to redo the tutorial fight against Margit and he drops a special relic
oh? how's it done?
Apparently it’s somewhere in the visual codex?
huh
The fox is dead, all it took was some competent randoms and locking the fuck in as mister bird man 😌
Visual Codex -> Guide -> Guide
We are not sure how people were expected to find this
Nightreign often has this problem I find
Ten years from now we discover nightreign actually has the entire lore book for elden ring hidden away in one of the tutorials
You just have to input the konami code on the menu information screen at 12:00am JP time
Also did the first bird remembrance and I see what this game is doing
People also weren't kidding about Revenant being short af
Chairs are taller than her lmao
what's the relic you get for it?
iirc, it boosts throwing weapon damage and gives you an attack power boost on weapon swap
I've been meaning to test if that works with Executor's skill katana
Cuz ||Heolstor's relic also gives an attack boost on swap, as well as a random elemental buff, and those two would be very good on the cursed katana if so||
||me farming gaping maw, trying to figure out why I'm being one-shot by it at lvl 13, realizing I have no damage negation
||
Me: "I'm tired of teammates being goobers, so I guess I'll carry myself then"
I think Nightreign might make me pickup Elden Ring at some point
just dont think you can jump off anything and survive and you'll be fine
anyone wanna do the gaping maw expedition?
Yes
When would you want to?
in an expedition rn so when it's done i should be down
gotcha lemme kno
time for boss
I'd be down, if you need a third
damn we lost 😔
i got absolutely shit staves that run ngl
mostly close range stuff or things that needed tons of windup
recluse is real dependent on drops from what I've heard
aaand the gem things i got are useless as well 😔
got a decent one for Wylder
need to do my personal objective too
as it turns out i'm alone in the house rn and gotta take care of the dog, i should have time for more expeditions later but rn i can't guarantee i have the time sadly
managed to kill tutorial morgott
imma do some matchmaking i guess
NICE, got placidusax ruin
aight
we're definitely losing this run so it shouldn't be too much longer
ok i'm ready for another run
cheese
actually Cheese153, that's less generic
nvm character limit
Sorc153 we'll do
gotcha and which boss?
Gaping Jaw
ok search started
i've set it to matchmaking now too
idk how this works
it does not seem to be working
Yeh Idk how it works either
do you have the number of password players set to two?
try changing that and see if it works
now it's set to two
cause we're not matchmaking as three people so it needs to be set to two
lol
are you on pc?
yus
hmm i googled it and i'm goiing to try turning off my remembrance objective real quick and see if that does anything
if you're in rememberance, you can't play with other people who aren't also doing the same rememberance I'm pretty sure
💀
But if you go to teh character book, you can pause a rememberance and come back to the regular game
Its like playing a flashback/forward
ok restarted matchmaking no longer in remembrance
if its on the map only one takes effect
Lemme know if you guys need a third btw
i'd be down for a third
lemme boot then
@arctic geyser change it to three player matchmaking
oh someone also said to reset the matchmaking every minute if it doesn't change from 1/3
kk
aight, three player matchmaking, Sorc153 for password, and then Gaping Jaw as the expedition
you put the password in matchmaking settings
Done
aight i commenced expedition
same
same
@arctic geyser you ready?
yeh I started it
Ive only done it through steam myself so this is new to me
I had to turn off my vpn lel
google was giving me captchas so it might have just been the proxy being flagged
fwiw we've had some of the worst enemy rng loool
genuinely atrocious
brought a poison axe with me for the big boss
did not get a single good staff unfortunately
i have poison duelist greataxe
i'm getting cooked ngl 😭
what the actual fuck are you supposed to do about that nuke move
run back or time dodge rolls very specifically
my game froze like 3 different times during the phase change nuke shit lmao
I was cookin
Recluse is kind of ass and idk if it's just how i'm playing
you can poison knock him out of it too I think but it's been fairly unreliable
but damage is just so low
well tbf we got really unlucky cause crater is one of the worse map rolls cause it tends to spawn you south side with flask spawns on east and west sides while the erd tree location is north side
- enemy rngs
On recluse I just spam the fuck out of the character art to get and toss magic and then pop blood rite off rip
But I'm also not great at teh game lol
but also tbf I could have fought the boss better cause I didn't dodge roll at the end there and we got unlucky with the double hit
i did not get a single good staff that entire run
i was running incantations and recluse starter staff
Recluse does have incant scaling almost as good as magic
my spells of choice were the bog standard lightning spell
which Adel is specifically resistant against
and flame of frenzy, which makes me a sitting duck
i tried stacking the deck a bit by getting passive health regen, making it so enemies were less likely to target me, and bringing a poison weapon
aight thanks for the run anyhow
was fun
yeh can try again if you'd like
for crater only thing we could have done different was run into crater or do center castle day 2 instead of that last flask but we still ended up at lvl 11 anyways so wasn't that bad, sounds like we just collectively did not get good RNG at any point lel
going to do some stuff with friends for now
Yeah im swapping to another game for now, but Ill hop on again later
That was fun though
We should mention that nightreign does not have crossplay, in case that was the issue
nah I think my vpn's proxy was getting flagged cause when I was google searching it gave me a captcha
also it's defaulting to colorado so it's prob also being a bit goofy rn
that match was surprisingly network stable all things considered
the worst match I got for network connectivity was like 3 second delay
ok unlocked Revenant
didn't realize i could already do that
bye bye Recluse, i hardly knew ye
Oh hey, the best Revenant gif ever is on tenor
Oh
Ah yis Revenant gremlin
got a wraith calling bell relic apparently and it's supposedly good for Revenant and recluse
not sure whips do anything for revenant but wraith calling bell is nice
No idea what the wraith calling bell does ngl
you get a funny little bell that does like 153 damage from the getgo for almost no fp
although
how do i regen fp as revenant
Yeah, it's actually kinda nuts at 6fp
you can spam 153 damage attacks at almost no cost at all
Item passives IIRC
oh
well
that's not good
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) how do i regen fp as revenant
Yeah with revenant you just get as many starlight shards as possible
Like what Emmu dropped right before the boss fight
Revenant is weird
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) so Revenant isn't a spellcasting class
i've had starlight shards on every single expedition i've done so far
I had one from earlier but I keep 1 just cause occasionally I'll run out of FP as executor mid boss fight
Basically if you're playing Revenant, coordinate with the rest of the party to store starlight shards to drop for your use.
Visual codex we think?
ic ic
(ngl we personally think Revenant could use a buff or two but we are also biased)
but i got pretty dogshit items every expedition and did no damage
so it was
not very fun to like, actually play her even if her abilities cooked
Damage is reliant on good staffs which actually
Yeh that would actually be my fault for our run I think
Cause there's specific staff spawns I don't normally go to that I know revenant players usually swing by in the more castle-y areas
They're next to the clue page at the tower top keep thing usually
how do passive effects work btw
for Rev and Recluse I always hit the cathedrals
is it only whatever is in the off-hand that gives me the passives
passives apply always, unless theres a red hand on the passive
If they have the hand symbol they need to be in your hand but you can two hand your other hand
and even then it just needs to be equipped, not actively held
nah
you get em all
I managed to stack 80% damage negation at full health the other day on raider
fun stuff
ok good to know
cause i had all of my good effects in my offhand and my casting implements in my main hand
having two seperate casting items isnt the worst in this one
with the changes to spellcasting they did
prob always want a fast melee weapon for if someone goes down though
i usually have a casting item and a melee weapon available
i had three last run lmao
i've had up to four at a time
Hitting up the castle is pretty good in general
Lots of great loot in a small area
If you get the trolls you just stick to the underground boss and then gtfo because they are NOT worth it
you can hit them up without being too much in LoS of each other though
I think they're the quickest unless it goes bad (it goes bad often)
Ehhhh, I find the trolls to be fine
The setup I really don't like is the banished knights just because they don't have as many boss drops
For trolls every troll does a drop, for the crucible knights the siluria's tree knights have drops, for the banished knights I think its like
The one in the overcoats??
you can rake in an absurd amount of upgrades from them but its so annoying
pretty much the same
knights has an Elder Lion too
right in the courtyard
do wish they would reduce the range on the trolls though
Mhm
How many of you have learned about the rooftop boss in the main encampment btw
There's a very easy to miss door in the central room that leads to a set of stairs leading to the roof of the central building, and it has a big loot boss like the underground does
oh?
central room?
You know uhhhh
The banquet room? Towards the center of the area, theres an indoor room with torches and a big table
Usually guarded by a siluria knight at both entrances on the crucible version
huh
interesting
I know the room, dont think Ive seen the door
I'll need to check that out next time
It's just in the corner, very easy to miss
I always wondered if there was anything in there, but must have missed it
We did!
[Reply to:](#1251763655578488872 message) Mhm
How many of you have learned about the rooftop boss in the main encampment btw
Yeeee
The main encampment feels really hard to pass up in night 2 to me but my rando groups often disagree!
I had maybe my most miserable run so far just an hour ago, the first time I actually went 'fucking randos 💀'
I like to dip into it Night 1
I find it a bit too hard night 1 usually
but it's definitely something I hit up night 2
scope it out, maybe clear a crucible knight or two, see if the basement boss is Leonine / Rev (takeable) or Elemer (get the fuck OUT)
oh you can get Bell Hunter in the basement?
unfortunately...
I've only seen Revenant and Grafted Scion so far
Yes, he’s evil and horrible
you gotta be a full squad to check it out that early for sure
They were two dudes name 'Ranni's Doormat' and 'Ranni's Tampon'
One was an ironeye who ignored a white torch with 'ranged damage %10' on it I dropped for him two times, assumedly because it was a white torch
And when we got some stonesword keys from a fort they ran to a evergaol half the map away instead of the one I pinged literally right next to the fort which I already had put my stonesword key into
And then we didn't have enough time to clear nokstaleo because of the runback from that evergaol
And then we fucking died to tricephalos because we barely had any levels and the ironeye died 3 times in a row
Truly miserable
is the talisman in the chest after the basement boss guaranteed btw?
Yeeeeee
^
yesterday I had someone do the Hate X slur where they replaced H in Hate with the starting letter of the slur and replaced the starting letter of the slur with H, I reported them so hopefully bamco can punt them
randos do be randos sometimes
yeh castle is gr8 day 2 cause usually I can clear it but in our run we had that and the crater so I pinged the crater but we were only at 6 flasks so we opted for another flask instead
we prob would have had goofy rng luck at the castle tho
Question, is there actually any relationship to difficulty and/or complexity as you go down the list of nightlords from top to bottom?
Maybe other than the dog as an exception
yes
they either get more difficult knowledge check or mechanic check wise
exception is ||dragon and night lord meme man himself||
||but dragon is dragon diff and night lord is night lord diff||
I feel like its tough to organize but I feel like the optimal play for a run is probably going for ruins that have elements your team likes, getting smithing stones, and getting flask charges night 1, then clearing main encampment and the shifting earth night 2
elements your team likes? or the one the boss is weak to?
or do you mean like going for casting tools if you have casters in the team?
also, do you think field bosses are ever worth it in that case? They seem way too tanky and kind of a waste of time
even Night 2
If you have an executor or ironeye and there's a poison/frost/etc symbol ruin, go to that one, if not then yeah elements the boss is weak to is probably wise
I think there's usually enough time in a night if you're all on the same page to take out a field boss or clear an evergaol if its on the way to where you ought to go
(There's often time to take out a LOT of evergaol bosses ime)
Arcane boosting all statuses now is honestly pretty wild
Frostbite/bleed weapons seem spooky as hell
Yeah starlight is where its at
That and having a reliable like spear or something to poke people with when you're out of fp
I carry one on recluse too when I run out so I can be useful
Dualwielding staffs is pretty funny too
Im a guardian main myself, but I dabble in the others
The raider headbutt is really funny to hit
Guardian recluse are my gotos
Now that I have a better grasp of how Raider works I like him a lot yeee
I think fundamentally I am an ironeye/executor fella
Even here I am an arcane main
I like shielding the little people around me
That and drawing aggro before airstriking the boss off rip
Raider is really funny
my second win was with him with dual anchors
I can't get my brain around how to play Guardian properly, mostly because of the dodge
I get that you're supposed to be blocking with him
its all about high poise and using guard counters
He has a special charged guard counter with halbreds too
So run halbreds, activate the heavy guard, run a draw aggro relic and keep taking hits
Real martial mains buy their caster friends shards at the final merchant every time
Oh ya you gottta ping em
any idea why the relic sell menu doesn't allow me to see any relics but red ones
oh
I'm a hoarder I don't sell em
i only keep the big ones
Thats a good idea because the little ones don't seem worth using
Im also a hoarder
bro
I might one day need some white branches or some shit
and ill be like that one dad who has the exact style of board needed to fix this project, since I kept it in the basement for 20 years
I'm crawling back into the ER:NR chat for motivation to play later tonight. Last night I had a good time, didn't win any. Had back to back to back Revs who left me wanting after the first one.
First Rev was incredible she cooked hard as fuck. But our third dropped out and I got nothing particularly good during our run so wasn't helpful.
i've been kinda dragging things down as revenant as well unfortunately 😔
i've died first to the boss every time or been repeatedly one-shot immediately as soon as i got revived by Gladius
It's ok it happens. Really I should have started taking charge after rev 2 and rev 3 were kinda lost on the map. We went nowhere fast.
Pathing is giga important. Know what you want and be fast about it.
I give a lot of praise to the randoms. But sometimes...
we got to the boss with almost no problems both times i did runs with my friends
which is cool cause it's my like fourth expedition and for them the first and second
we did pretty fucking good on both of them
got Gladius to the point where he had less than 1/3rd health left both times
would have won i think if i hadn't biffed it which feels bad
Rev is definitly one of the harder/hardest nightfarers to play
Their kit is so interesting
Compared to how silly wylder can be, throwing themselves directly into the bosses uber move, losing 85% of there health. Thwips away
You can get a lot of distance by launching into a half charged pilebunker
It's true
I find getting all churches isn't usually as helpful as an extra level
so I tend to stop after two
Dodge tank Wylder is on me funny little build flow chart
smithing stones are really good if you can path the mines on the way
thats also why I tend to swing a little by the mid-castle even on day one, its often just convienent pathing
If you play guardian, get the purple smithing stone from the mines and upgrade a nice great shield you find, its half of his kit
esp if you're already leapfroging spirit streams - they clear so much ground
If you have crater, upgrade your shit to legendary too for the funnies
