#Elden Ring (DLC hype room)
1 messages · Page 32 of 1
goodpoint, could all just be for Nidhogg reference anyway
Serpents seem like they’re their own kind of being, which carry their own power
i'm so glad we're getting omre serpents in starfield dlc
serpents are like a force, an element the serpent as metaphor and legend but like for real real
||We got the god-devouring serpent and the abyssal serpent||
If anything the godskins remind me of like salamanders and lizards
I feel like you could easily sell them on it at least
'You mean your god makes so much skin it just leaves it places?'
||They could be the same, but I personally think otherwise||
Is there like... A table of damage by fp cost for sorceries?

Verdigrass isnt magnetic, checkmate athiests? Belivers? i unno
I think there might be, but it gets Complicated TM because there's a bunch of factors
like Chargable (do you have Godfrey icon on, etc0
Ah, I see
pebble is peak
Compare AR and Damage for Sorceries and Incantations.
Appernetly this tool will let you figure it out by punching your stats in
but it may not be al lteh way up to date, though i think 1.07 was the Big Spell Buffing
while its probably copper or bronsze or sumn sadly it isnt actually magnets so it would be the same i fear
Also do rember that Damage/FP doesnt tell the whole story
there's shit like cast time, tracking etc
Like Carian slicer and Discus of light are by far THe Best generally
||affected by gravity tho, pussyyyy||
b ut Carian requires you to wade into close combat, while discus hits twice and is holy (which a: means it's smacking into holy resistance twice, you have to actually get the second hit to land, and holy reistance is common)
Aaaaaaa
I got her down to just a sliver of health
But a couple of early, flubbed dodges meant I had 0 HP pots and Josh got his ass beat, so I got chipped down
not Joshua!
Indeed, Joshuia McPhee got bonk.
Discus Hitting Twice can be an upside too though - it pierces targets (I frequently got multikills with it) and it ||hits golem smiths in their weakpoint on the backswing lolololol||
I'm rly happy I decided to start using ||Igon's|| Greatbow
It's so fucking cool for a 'mythical creature hunter' character
😌 yeah greatbows are fun for sniper nonsense
It let me beat Placi first try
they do the damage bows don't
though the moveset can be awkward for fighting when you need to dodge
Is there a specific spell or ash that people use to farm the albies?
you don't, it's just to do it faster
you can just start backstabbing
or even just shoot the bird with one (1) arrow for 11k runes and sit down
(I generally don't farm but have definitely done this on my archer for a quick pile of runes to restock arrows with after a boss fight went poorly)
I just needed some to grab a few gear levels
Oh, for sure. Just poiinting out it's not the full story
yeah there's definitely a lot more to spells than damage
of the new spells, knight's lightning spear is a banger, and not just because it does good damage for its fp cost
it also still fires the additional spears even if you get staggered out of the cast animation
... How hard is it gonna be to get more Somber Dragon Stones?
Do you mean the Ancient versions?
I've got 2, and I want to upgrade my Regal staff to 10, but that degree of commitment has me balking
Yeah I assume you mean Ancient Somber Dragon Smithing Stones
What level are you and do you have the dlc?
There are eight total in the basegame
125, yes
more in the DLC but I don't know the exact number
Ok, so a bit of a bugger, but probably worth it?
yeah if this is the first one you'd be spending, there's still plenty more
Cool
Yeah I have
but don't spend them recklessly if you can help it
cheat engine
It's on the Carian Regal Scepter
Which is just generically high scaling without any special effects to worry about
not my count but that's what the wiki says
eight actually
I guess it's worth noting that while there are eight in the base game, some of them ARE missable
well, one of them is. one is from Latenna's questline
Yeah I missed a fews
which can be botched if you clear castle sol before meeting her
Find the Albinauric woman, she lies in a cave to the west of the Layskar Ruins in the mist shrouded land of Liurnia.
Also @left willow it's very easy to add more via cheat engine
sxo like
don't stress too hard
Ok
It's abosloteuy dumb that htey're limited, but in practice there are ways around it
There's 8 in the base game and 8 in the dlc.
Oh, abosloteuy, it being limited, much like the respec items
is just one of those game design decisons i stare at
aand then i stare at the devs
ds3 had it right iwht respect being a thing you can get from invading and shit
and then i look back at the decision
DS3 actualyl had a hard limit
there was just a glitch, lol
realistically are you actually using all 8+ in a run
Yes
Depending on the style of player you are? Easily, yes.
THEY BUFFED THE CARIAN SORCERY SWORD
i dont think ive ever needed more than one of the max upgrades for any run
Yeahl, which is great for you
Does it have proper sorc scaling?
but various players like to have lots of experimetnign etc
It does!!
Oh rad
Ort just like to change things up
and the mental damage of "These are limited:" is a real thing
see poor @left willow freezing up.
To the pvp mines I go with it 😈
I mean I did but that's cuz I like build swapping
I think working within the bounds of the game's limitations is part of the game itself
At 40 int it ties for the best staff in the game but at higher int it loses out a bit to the regal scepter and lusats
Genuinley, what does this limiation add?
Like how does this meaninguflly enhance the game in any fashion
vs an ancient bell bearing from teh boss.
okay so how does the carian sorcery sword work
iirc, light attacks are normal rapier, heavy casts spellss?
Like if you strong attack it actually casts the sorcery you have equipped?
Encourages you to do more/additional runs if you want to experience everything, encourages you to be more prudent with +10/25 upgrades since +24 is just fine, etc
Oh wow, that's cool. I was probably only gonna go to 30 int anyway since I'll be using it on a goofy level 60 pvp build
Listen, that's mainly just the autism... I think
Except we just saw that it was causing someoen to freeze up, and it constnatlyy causes that issue for lots of people
that said i dont want to discuss this if youre just gunna try to prove me wrong here
like hands up anyone who used Marika's blessing.
You have fun with that
Weridly aggressive, but okay!
I forgot to put it in my inventory bar 😔
You wanna get extra cool Rhi? it's a rapier. So it gets the Main-Gauche moveset
I definitely used divine blessings a few times in dark souls, tho
See, i have 4 of them, i've used one on accdient, and it lives in my inventoryt bar so... my mimic tear can use it
Sometimes you're out of estus but this one is the fight you're gonna win so you whip out the bonus juice and power through
That's not how my brai nworks, lol
main-gauche moveset???
or just re-do it and get hit one or two times less so yu get one or two more flasks
You mean rapiers and the main-gauche have a powerstance moveset????
THEY DO!
YES
and the Main gauche has parry equiv to that of a buckler parry as well
Yes but that's less cool that using your secret bonus heal
Is there any point to powerstancing with the Main Gauche?
It's cool
Unique moveset taht lets you parry.
That makes sense then
i have a secret bonus hela called Erdtree Heal
It's like the wakizashi and katanas
`Mine is just "I cast blessing of the erdtree FIVE MINUTES AGO"
Not acutally fivbe minutes, but Lord's talisman erd tree blesisng does work
Cause my friend showed it to me and it looked like you would be better served just having two rapiers, but being able to parry sounds useful
To be fair there's also raw meat dumplings as a secret bonus heal item
they proc kindred of rot exultation, too :)
when i'm feeling esp spicy i like going "I equip primal spellblade, fire off all my buffs, unequip it for something actually useful, and my hp comes back anyway"
Mostly i dont bother because buff management is terrrible
but hey, sometiems it's worht pulling out the stops
esp for shenangins like 'Ah, yes, i see your major damage in this type. I have a barreir to that. Get fucked"
Boss: "=("
Could buff manage but i could also enact incredible violence instead
I definitely gotta run carian sorc sword with a magic infused main gauche
Yeah i'm mostly doing it on my beast claws
The faith elemental resist buffs are so cracked, it rocks
because well, it's funny to go full wolverine
I have patience for two buffs
Me when i use blackflame body for every boss and nothing else
Any more than that and i just wannafight
Like golden vow and a weapon buff, sure
Give radagon a taste of his own medicine
At 3+ buffs i sm bored
…why on earth am i not buying boiled prawn for my archer
i've been running a pure sorcery build lately btw (as in no weapons only staves) and its actually such a unique way to be playing the game
Because you're buying boiled crab instead
imagine carian sorc sword into carian piercer though
Yeah, the mixups with the thrusting sword moveset, slicer, greatsword and piercer sound so good
This loser moongrum actually swapping to a staff
Always relaxing when moongrum switches to the staff because it means they're not gonna whip out a parry and own my ass
please from
honestly
for an ng+ run
I may see if there are mods that do that lmao
swords that cast shit?
specifically for carian knight sword
Carian Knight's Sword: Capable of casting sorceries. Scales spells and melee attacks with dexterity and intelligence. Boosts carian sorceries.
Elden Ring Reforged changes some weapons into catalysts
like loretta's war sickle, lazuli glintstone sword
also adds 3 more
Very nice
Eyyyy
it also rebalances a lot of stuff
like removign 50% strength damage bost when 2 handing
replaced with universal 8% damage buff
||Metyr down|| on my Beast character, only took two tries
Bloodflame HEavy Beast Claws stay utterly terrifying
I fell for that shit an embarrassing number of times on my current playthrough lol
I’m thinking about going for the Star-Lined sword and a staff, but I’m not sure which one would work best, if at all
Depends what spells you're using, for an all rounder staff though, academy glintstone is generally the way to go
reminded of how sad star-lined is
Oh, what’s wrong with it?
do demi-human since you're gonna primarily level dex for star-lined, and demi-human is best below 40 int and is on-theme
D int 😭
It scales vastly better with dex
cause it's a "katana"
Though I have heard the actual AoW scales higher with INT, though that’s just hearsay
i had 72 int
R1 spam had more dps than AoW

i had less than 20 dex
it's fucking sad
and yeah, demi-human scepter is on brand. Though visually I think the staff of loss would look baller since it’s basically a cane
out here Yodamaxxing
night sorcery spells are also a lot of fun to use
in pve they don't trigger enemy dodges and they're nifty enough in pvp, too
I like pairing them with freezing mist to help hide the cast animation
also, has anyone tried Miriams Vanishing?
uchigatana acquired, now i just need souls
god I'm still so proud of my creature hunter fit
Igon is that good at shooting arrows
look
bow made of dragon bone and rope
wielded by dragon ahab
with unique greatarrows for killing dragons
How could I not???
This is just how tarnished hold greatbows apparently
Lion greatbow does that too
holy hell that is some serious grip strength if that’s their resting hand position
I know right
Does Millicent's Prosthesis work on bows?
thinking of adding the black bow to my dex build
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPREQwJU4/
More tips for newbies (these remain a joke)
The bonus to dex would, but I've gotten used to nothing working with bows unless it specifically says it works for bows
winged sword insignia doesn't though so I assume no
that said I'd still recommend equipping a bow on characters who don't otherwise have magic or whatever
it's a really handy utility tool
great for pulling enemies out of problematic rooms one at a time (it only ever seems to aggro people damaged by it directly), for harassing enemies from a ledge or across a gap, and even for disabling fire pillars at range (though you can also use the shackle for that)
depending on how willing you are to invest in status arrows it can be really nice to apply statuses too
(poison arrows can be purchased for runes instead of having to be crafted so they're the easiest to add to your kit - you can pretty easily gather bloodrose for bleed arrows too. Rot and Frost arrows are much more of a pain in the ass)
For rot you're going to be grinding lake of rot basilisks for Aeonian Butterflies, and for frost you have two bad options - you can gather Rimed Buds in Consecrated Snowfield (at least not a %drop, just a really sucky loop surrounded by direwolves and albinauric sharpshooters) or you can grind fallen hawks for Spiritflame Arrows
Oh, also the best direct damage (as opposed to status) crafted arrows are the lightning ones, because the lightning damage gets affected by your bow's dex scaling
I don't really use the lightning arrows because god I go through enough goddamn arrows and do enough crafting, but they're an option if I need them
Yeah it's nice
And like I said for trash mobs or field bosses
RIP, i hardly knew ye
yeah these were always getting hotfixed lmao
as funny as the meme build that melts the final boss was
wonder how this will affect the weapon
searching through patch notes now and. yeah I knew those lightning perfume bottles were a bug.
who knew dealing 30k damage in one weapon art and one shottinge verything was a bug
on some extremely goofy shit atm
on track to go fight ||Metyr|| with 2 scadu blessing
oh no.
got past ||Rellana||
need to get into ||Shadow Keep and go to the second ruins after i finish here in the first one||
think i'm probably going to ||take the side entrance||
what build
i'm on that ice grind
moon?
oh yeah nah, that's fucking easy lmao
||you can put on the better casting medallion even to get max casting dex and just chuck ranni moons at the boss and kill it in like 30 seconds flat 😭 ||
i'm not looking forward to doing any of hte dlc bosses with a katana
i just got the ||max casting medallion||
||yupyupyup, bye bye finger mommy||
also i think yu're the first person i ever saw to have whistle on items
and not just hold Y/Triangle menu
i always have whistle on items
I've been procrastinating ||Metyr|| bow-only but I'll probably do it soonish; right now my walls are ||Messmer and Gaius||
now i just need to figure out how to get to ||Gaius little pre-boss room|| so i can get to the ||second finger ruins||
At 30 dex I can't really tell the spell speed talismans apart, it might be a touuuch faster
But for most spells it seems not huge
I guess if you have zilch
I think the max spell speed is at ~70 dex and the Godfrey one gives ~30
So there isn’t much of a difference at 30 dex
Oh damn Starlight really doin it, okay
i have 19 dex
i feel like even 20 would be close
so starlight does make a big difference
Starlight autocaps you but also the extra damage is. oof
it's so much damage
unless your Dex is that bad, I don't think Starlight is worth
if you're going for no-hits it's free real estate, but yeah
i'm sitting at 2 scadu blessing so extra damage doesn't really matter
oh wow
that is a significant boost at a significant cost
might as well drop on both of the soreseals and ||Rakshasa armor||
Fromsoft has got you covered at -29 dexterity
Ok the ||armor||'s real good tho
||How much extra damage does the Rakshasa armor make you take anyway?||
apparently it doesn't actually do that at all
wat
nevermind
?
||it just has lower than average defensive stats for its weight||
just dodge, idk
but it does give you a Woe icon in debuffs
Okay so it's just amazing then
yeah but dataminers say it does nothing lol
blessed spaghetti
wah wah "defensive stats on average lower than should be for it's weight" wah wah
Fashion souls, besties, fashion
that's the naem of the game
yes
also insane poise for weight
it really does buff your damage though
i've been able to lifesteal fist so many nerds r1in' me
does that apply to all damage or just weapons?
I seriously considered how I could slap on some pieces for archery-only because damn it I need all the damage I can get
¯_(ツ)_/¯
unfortunately it doesn't really work with my look
what i need to do really
It is so red
if it works for spells, I might wear that
Red is okay, actually. if it had anything flowy I'd have loved to throw on the legs.
and then walking into the light like 'oh'
but it's just wearing armored legs lol
if i get those 18 more levels and get to 240 i should get as close to the max cast speed with radagons as it matters
like if it had a red waistcloth so it looked like a red version of this? That'd be amazing
but it looks kinda dumb with just armor
great look tho
Found the arcane drip
Now this is a person with trustworthy prophecy
Yeah I've thought about grinding for that
fire knights suck ass to fight though
?
I bet this fucks with the drake knight armor
probably
probably
boutta go farm it tbh
I got a chest piece by accident, but not the legs 😔
just gotta farm it out
Moments like this are why I'm glad my rules for bow-only allow a dagger to be used for crits exclusively
because killing them is so much less agony if I can open the fight with a backstab
and chunk off half their hp
as a sidenote: My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
past me was fucking stupid for having a 50/50 split on flasks
||the one in The Loft who tries to knock you off a ledge is in fact safe; if you knock him off his ledge with a greatbow, he will land somewhere else alive.||
I think I'm at 10/4 red/blue currently
Might put a few more into red still
9/5 and it's pushing it tbh
i want more blue juice
if i'm getting hit enough to drink this many health potions i'm dead
I was at 8/6 for most of my first run through the dlc but switched to 10/4 for the final boss
10/4 and Crimson Seed
sitting at 7/7 was NOT the play
I have Blessing of the Erdtree and often have a Lord's talisman and it's just real nice on budgeting all'at
I almost never run out of FP except for bosses
plus Blessed Blue Talisman, my cherished friend
So I rarely actually use more than one or two blue flasks
I went through a lot more FP before I realized I should be using discus of light for dungeon-clearing
( you get so many )
i could definitely be more efficient but also
it's fun to make guys explode
I mostly use multilayered, and Rock Sling
I should probably try multilayered, it looked pretty good
it's real good
It seems pretty good from my use so far
Especially if they stay in the residual damage
And less demanding a cast time than other ring stuff
jus' toss the pizza
Also weirdly doesn't need int? sure
Range, speed, damage, not huge fp cost, it's all around A+
and you get to think about Krillin, everyone's friend
Still need to grab Knight Lightning Spear as well
I never found that damn thing, gotta dig through eventually
I'm farming monks flameblade and the legs from the messmer knights
Is Midra's spell worth it against large enemies btw?
kls is fucking hilarious
pfff the greaves were my first drop
Spells’s stinky but it shits out a lot of damage in a wide area so I’d reckon it hits hard against large enemies/bosses
oh?
The command grab is hella good
It's weapon art is a command grab
this mf looks like thunder god cid from final fantasy tactics
pretty nice
Aaaalmost got Messmer bow-only, first try
niiiiiiice
I NEED IT
Fun fact, i kind of assumed he’d be immune to poison but serpent arrows worked fine
Clearly
DOG
Damn
I have been stricken by the curse of “good first attempt, suddenly forget how to dodge thereafter”
AUGH
He was poisoned too, I just slightly fucked up my timing on the grab dodge and got deleted
this is "golden vow would have saved me" close
shame I don't have golden vow 😛
have you not got the crafting book for the consumable version?
it's ||in a tent, in the camp next to Shadow Keep||
fuck ||Metyr||
fucking omnidirectional bullshit
love that this boss has so many ||undodgeable attacks, love that for me||
i know i'm underleveled for this but man this sucks absolute shit
throw moooooooons
also my mimic tear is actually completely devoid of intelligence
it fucking used the staff spin attack
on the boss
it loves to style
that is like, ascended levels of stupidity
that is unironically less useful than trying to use the staff as a melee weapon
you can always just take off the melee wep so it only has a staff, should be more cast focused
had to do that a couple times
dumbass wouldn't stop running at a boss and get constantly stunlocked
slow cast, or
just need to be able to dodge and shit
also ||Metyr's lasers can mutli hit if you are in the air||
yeah, i kidna killed it before it had a chance to do any other attacks than jumping atm y mimic
i lost 95% of my health bar during a single moon cast
why is the ||phase transition attack like that ugh||
fuck me sideways that was a fucking ending to a fight
holy SHIT
i got the remembrance the actual like, millisecond before i respawned after i died
Whew
defeated ||Metyr, Mother of fingers|| at 3 scadu anyway
fuck that shit sucked but i won
scarlet rot ftw
wait, shit, that's actually a good call
trying out the ||Metyr staff|| and it doesn't seem bad
not as good as Rennala's but like, ||it casts all magic so that's pretty fucking good||
unfortunately doesn't work with my aesthetic but i might use it
it's okay but ||doesn't keep up with the Golden Order Seal and Prince of Death's Staff, its competitors||
that makes sense
honestly i really should just stick to Rennala's staff and Golden Order Seal
I'd long since gotten used to swapping off on my split caster so it was like...eh
just would love ||to not have to switch between them constantly||
is ||Fleeting Microcosm|| good?
it looks super cool
idk i didn't use most of the new sorceries
My thought on ||Metyr's staff|| is that ||it is good enough to Work for PVE so I like it as a convenience thing||
||You will squeeze more spell buff out of two catalysts but swapping around is a gigantic pain in the dick that turned me off from int/faith in the past||
yeah that's fair
honeslty
my aesthetic is too important to me
and i don't really run many incants
yeah it's the kind of thing where I'd have gravitated to it if I hadn't played this character for 170 levels at the point I got it
just cause there isn't much in the way of cold incants
and had long since mastered mixing the staff and seal the hard way
honestly even slotting Borealis is kinda egh
Zamor ice storm can probably do its job well enough
I might feel differently if I'd respecced into it at level 150 for the dlc or something
actually you know what
just going to slot a fire incant so i can actually reset cold procs
a classic
kinda opposite of my build but i'm just going to chalk it up to my Carian Sorceress just
being smart
and not an idiot
zamor ice storm with godfrey icon is peak
or godrick
the charge one
godfrey icon
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS QUEEN MARIKA THE ETERNAL?????
Learning the secret deep lore
(Quasi nsfw)
At least the giant crabs make sense now
lmao
It’s pretty good yeah, very fun too
it looks incredibly cool i must say
also finally back to using my ps4 controller instead of my brothers ps5 controller 🙏
such an improvement
good to know that she also struggles with parkour
She’s so real for this the platforming in ER is nasty
also, kinda goals ngl
mad fuckin strong
Oh god I just realized
The divine warriors are gundyr with different weapons
No wonder their shoulders and kicks hurt so fucking much
lmao
i need to fight this chad again
Okay
Time
Fuck
Time to try and kill Malenia
Pray for me
Fucking
Pray for me
lmao
Feeling really garbage today apparently
I swear romina’s attacks are dodgeable by means of “whatever Jane isn’t doing”
currently doing a training arc powerleveling with the albinaurics
need that dex for my casting speed
I’m just getting clipped by them at whatever angle I try, or running out of stam at inconvenient times
Not to mention that she’s a constantly horizontally swaying small target
“Small” but the only targetable part is human-sized and half my attacks go through thin air
She does seem like one of the worst bow attempts
Also i keep on getting smacked mid-jump and then she combos me to death while I’m on the ground unable to react
I’m told deflecting hardtear is great vs her
I had luck with Redmane Knight Ogha
Ashes are iffy with Malenia though cuz she eats them for heals
I got around this with Shabriri’s woe on bow only
Ugh. I should go back to messmer
At least messmer is fun
something that's really funny to me is that whenever i need to just lock in to kill a boss
i always default to a greatsword
I’m replaying SOTE on a sorcery build and it is so much easier. Night comet cheese.
in all of DS3 and Elden Ring despite playing caster in both games constantly
i ALWAYS lock in by just not casting anything and two handing my greatsword
i feel like i was destined to be a str main but my vow of playing magical characters is holding me back
i literally beat every single hard boss in both games by just
not doing magic
which was the entire point of all of my builds in both games
Okay yeah i’m just bad today
Flub every single dodge challenge
This kills the crab
now i am become the speed caster, 39 dex + 30 virtual from radagon icon
Yoda ashes?
Fuck it
Summoning doesn't actually seem to be that much of a detriment
I feel no more impulse to be honorable
||little demihuman that uses Star-lined sword||
Oh ||from the belurat gaol?||
||i beat his ass first try so I assumed his ashes were lame maybe I was wrong||
Okay, unironically, did they buff Messmer’s grab? It’s like he just holds it and keeps walking until it connects
The only time I’ve seen it miss post patch is when he tries it on Ogha (who is probably ungrabbable)
Okay I am now like 5 tries away from beating Malenia
has ass poise itself but does good stagger on things without amazing poise. u can see how that'd combo well here. very attack spammy too sometimes
Makes sense yeah
I think the dude was just really vulnerable to my “distract with summon and use huge AoE dragon communion incants” strat
As a recurring field boss, the Furnace Golems distinguish themselves for their tremendous size and unmistakable presence. You can look at an area halfway across the map and still see them burning on the far horizons.
Song used: Goron Mines - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess OST
Huh
Seeing it next to the giant makes the comparison make much more sense
TIL you can ||remove Anna from Jolàn's ash as well as put her into it||
Yeye
||go to shaman village, go behind it, there's a pathh to yeet into the tower, doll is right there||
i just did it
already found it on my own while doing my blind playthrough
i just didn't have ||Jolàn's ash cause when i graced Queelign i got his ash so i killed her immediately to not get that cause i had Dung Eater on that character so i did not need any more ashes||
||got her ash on this character to check it out||
Bow-only Messmer!!!
big move
😓 this one was rough
BIG fuckin moves
also, apparently you can ||Tell Jolan about having fought Anna as long as you do it before killing Metyr???||
this is news to me, I missed that dialogue my first time
||It gives her noticeable pause but then she awkwardly insists she trusts Ymir and will hear no more of this||
huh, wack
yeah i got this on my first try actually
I was like that seemed important, back track time!
||i kinda hopped around doing other shit so i got as lot of pauses with dialouge instead of just mainlining that quest, and thus i kept talking to Jolan in hopes of her having new dialogue, which she did||
||i mean meeting someone who was the same as her having never seen anyone close to her, well i had to go have a chat with her about that||
I mean sure, I just didn't know that ||i'd be unable to have a conversation with her after walking down the path, and beat Metyr first try||
I wish Malenia a very Fucking Die Please
Okay ||Metyr|| is doable i just need to suck less
Almost did it second try even with a bunch of flubbed dodges
malded my brains out earlier doing that fight at scadu blessing 3
i won by a hairs breadth
and i REALLY mean that
had to remove the sound cause it was just me saying the word hate over and over but this is how close it was
What's your build? There's a bunch of WA that will absoloteuy mulch her
STormcaller for instance
actually just like, i got the remembrance by i think a second or less
milady dex
It doesn’t help that ogha is dumb
Stormcaller should do plenty of work then
He keeps focusing on the fingercreeper adds for some reason
Oh nooo
I have to keep rembeirng to change my weapon so my tear doesnt waste as much time spell casting
better than my fucking mimic doing the godsdamned spin attack on the carian regal scepter
but she can be surpsingly nasty with when she slips in spells, so it's all good
Mimic Tear AI Management: a special hell
"Remove as many items from your quick use bar, least your mimic try and use them at the worst time"
it literally two handed the fucking regal scepter to use its ash attack instead of using the Dark Moon it had in the other hand or the specially cultivated boss killing spell assortment
could be worse
could be my friends mimic spamming Terra Magica mid boss battle with ||Messmer i think it was||
literally just
standing in a corner spamming Terra magica
Mimic Tears are ASTOUNDING in their complete inability to do anything of use sometimes
I watched my mimic tear recently just contuiinally rebuff with grease?
like it was bizzare, it KEPT using grease
Or when you magic Max and give your mimic a weapon with a really cool AoW you want it to you only for it to actually swing the damn sword instead of actually casting anything
mimic tear actually doing something useful when needed challenge (impossible)
Or a mimic deciding "yeah how about I just... Don't heal"
this is why i swapped that moron out with Dung Eater puppet
which is insanely cracked
Mimic I have specifically given you raw meat dumplings, please actually use them for godsake
Mimi the Mimic has done some good work for me before
Dung Eater puppet constantly screams doing great damage, which draws aggro like no other summon in the entire game
and does fucking bleed
Dung Eater was such an unfathomable shithead as a person that it's wild that he becomes the strongest summon
Okay got it attempt 5
gj!
It's the fate he deserves tbh
Turns out ||Metyr|| is very weak to bleed
stripped him of his will and made him into a productive force
Infinite suffering as a puppet slave
he does literally want to curse everyone forever so
He is such a shit for brains asshole that he magnetizes the hatred of all living beings
yeah i'd say it's fair comeuppance
Leaving you free to whoop they ass while he gets beat
Oh, i made healing illegal for my mimic tear XD
See, here's an extra dumb thing: the mimic tear c an only use items in your main hotbar
so if your'e like me and bind your flasks to Y + direction, for easy use?
It cannot use them.
fool
I mean very weak, btw
Instead, i have a genius soloution
I think it procced in like 5 arrows
me when i give the mimic the marika blessing and it does not use it at all
i leave a Blessing of Marika on my hotbar
and i never use it myself, but the Mimic tear sure will
Anyway here's attempt 2 and attempt 5
mine does not
it doesn't even use flasks
just kinda rushes to its death
Yeah, the mimic is very bizzare in it's useage of stuff
it tends to excel when you limit it's choices as much as possible
I suspect it's because the ai is not very complicated and is using a roulette system
I do like leaving it able to use Hefty rock pots
go figure
yeah
because this is deeply, deeply funny to watch
that sounds about right for a Mimic Tear
when you're having an OH NO- and then a bunch of rocks clobbers something off you
mine keep teaching me how to play
Giving it greases if you have a weapon that can use them is a good idea
it keeps fucking styling on bosses
Except for the times it just sits there re-greasing it's weapon.
greater potentate energy
dodge, hone hone hone, dodge, hone hone hone
like bro, you won't have a weapon soon 😭
nah i'd hone
Never had that happen so far!
mine killed a wyrm by getting double moon offl ike twice
This is why my int char uses the No Skill having Academy Glintstone Staff 🧠
by walking around it's attacks
It's absoloutey happened repeadly to me with the holy grease and things
i'm pretty sure it's a glitch because normally it's decently sensible about buffs
(though mine will try and rebuff with golden vow mid battle XD)
Carian Regal Scepter is somber
I appreciate golden vow ran out!
so no AoW change
Yeah, hence why I specified specifically using a staff with No Skill rather than doing ash of war stuff
and i have 72 int and no reason to use any other staff
plus Carian Regal Scepter is perfect for my character lore and drip
I mean, in that case, you just gotta deal with mimic tear being it's werid self
unfortunately yeah
the biggest misfortune of my main character is that it does not have dung man
A bit late since this is long after Zullie's video on the subject, but I just realized you can clearly see human Arms and Legs on this remembrance talisman
yeah
honestly aesthetically i think the ||Divine Beast Dancing Lion|| is my favourite
it's just so impressive, too
it's such a cool idea and the visual representation is so baller
you can see the clambering as it 'stands up'
Just saw a "tip" for new Elden Ring players: choose Shabriri's Woe for your keepsake, it'll help you find any hidden enemies 😂
Tbf it might
Also, apparently this talisman buffs Stormwing Arrows?!?!?!?!!?! WHAT?!
like that mod that increased aggro radius 2000%
||the idea of taking inspiration from real dancing lion puppets and focusing on the ritual aspect of them and making them actual channels for true divinity is genius||
i'm in awe, i'm used to bows getting absolute jack shit XD
||the idea of dancers becoming one with their costume through their dance and actually becoming real divine beasts is so fucking rad||
Okay but memes aside Shabriri's Woe is super good and I've got a lot of value out of it
time for daedicars woe
Use it with a support/dps spirit summon like Latenna and it'll drastically increase their life expectancy
This one I can't defend 😛
Daedicars woe is in fact completely useless in all scenarios
i wouldn't even consider it useful for challenge runs
i legitimately think there are no usecases for it
I don’t think it actually does anything unless you have summons or spirit ashes
Good old Calamity Ring
yup yup
Very dumb, innit
wait, what?
Fighting Malenia, mostly for completion, somewhat to test the fashion
want some help?
i can chuck a moon at her
fought my way all the way through the lake of rot to realize that you can't get tishe without marrying the blue e-girl
lmao

should have married best girl
she even supports you slaughtering your way through her family tree
welp, broke up with tishe, shield soldier ashes are my new girlfriend
NEVER
only because I've already done the moon ending lol
go marry her anyways to get the tiems and just
i do moon ending every time
only reason i didn't do moon at any point was for achievement purposes
Ranni is the best option for endings and i get wife
Well you can’t do it without doing her quest, but you can just ignore the cathedral she’s in and not marry her
it's a win win
I'm already like 90% of the way to the DLC I' not gonna go back and simp now
i'm gonna do frenzy ending on my Motivated Incel character probably
that or fixed golden order with burning myself to save Melatonin
Melatonin my beloved
the funniest thing happened on my DLC character
where i was going to burn myself to death to save her
but i was playing seamless
and my friend did it first
so mine played the normal cutscene where she dies
so i just had to sit there and watch them both burn themselves to death and throw themselves into the crucible
third wheeled destroying the erdtree
cucked at the olympic bowl, sucks to suck
absolute girlfailure moment
That's a very ironic name considering her complexion and fate
i was meant to say Melanin ngl
also
MELATONIN IS HTE SLEEPY THING
MELANIN IS THE SKIN THING
Fuck melatonin is the eeby chemical
GOOBER
pain
confirming what I always suspected: Radagon is the Hard Part
I did die to EB here but only because I was completely out of red flasks and went into the fight at half hp\
and it turns out I could not no-hit it first try
Radagon be like
"In the Lands Between and the Land of Shadows, i alone am the parrying one"
So painfully true
oh can raddie parry?
Yeah he slaps aside ranged weapons and spells
I swear more enemies in DS could Actually Parry but it's rather rare in Elden Ring.
malenia has better openings to tap with a bow between moves though
if you try to hit radagon's you're going to get holy bolt'd or slapped by a followup melee zoom
also malenia isn't immune to bleed, so you have a way to make up for lackluster bow damage if you can land enough consecutive shots
radagon is just seriously hard
he's not harder to dance with than he is on any other character, really, it's just that you have to do it way longer and that opens up more chances to make mistakes
yeah
any fight is a race against time
can you hurt your enemy sufficiently before they hurt you sufficiently
the longer it goes on, the more chances you have to make mistakes
LEGALIZE NUCLEAR BOMBS - ranni moon
Carian Royal family a whole bloodline of baddies tbh
so true
a lot of the damage in the radagon fight is just rolling his holy spears too early, getting chipped by the shotgun of holy shards, getting greedy and smacked with a hammer, jumping too early on the ground pounds...
actually maybe I should swap out dragoncrest greatshield for haligdrake
that would be smart
if i wasn't already down bad for Ranni and Rennala was doing better
that's all that needs to be said tbh, she got it
finally...
What do you suppose is gonna be the new common pvp level now
Probably still 150.
200
i'd assume 200 cause dlc is fucking rough without 60 vigor
unless you skill check everything
Did it eventually climb to 150? I got into really intense arguments with people who were insisting like ~75 back in 2022
It is because that was the dark souls pvp level
Incidentally that is a really awesome level to be Rivers of Blood invader #3758348
Absolute sweatlords
I had the most fun at 150 at the time honestly
imagine using rivers of blood
So I am glad people eventually moved to that
okay this is totally winnable if I sucked less
I got the backhand blades when I was playing the other night
Which is what I want to use until I get the night katana
I didn't realize the ash of war has i frames
What are some infusible weapons that get good int scaling
Like if you infuse them as magic or naturally
not directly related to the game but the elden ring composer is doing the ost for witch hat atelier anime ive heard
a fun one: Clayman's Harpoon
it has native int scaling which means you can leave it standard and buff with scholar's weapon, and get int scaling on the buff's base damage too
if you want a nonstandard infusion, it also does well with cold or magic
I have it occult infused on my int/arc caster for C int scaling and A Arcane scaling
YEAAAAAH DIE ALREADY
fan shot is good, I had an opening and was very tired of dancing with this jerk
Can someone help me with Malenia, blease <XD
It is literally just the aeonia at phase 2 start, fuck
You just have to run from that one really
I know
Also switching to Tiche helped
Now we are both annoying gadflies she has to chase
Thinking about Elden Ring fanfic writers and the fact that SOTE broke into their houses and defenestrated them with the lore it adds
Miyazaki doing the New Vegas "it was rigged from the start" to all of the Elden Ring fic writers with SOTE lore
||Mohg do be out here beating the allegations||
||The Marika lore recontextualizing all of Elden Rings lore entirely does not have me envying the fanfic writers rn||
||How does it recontextualise everything, exactly?||
Anyone wanna be summoned to help me beat Malenia?
||Well it changes the entire context of Marika, Queen Eternal, what her reign means, the Golden Orders hostility towards a lot of different thing, a lot of the war situations, the depth behind the Shattering, the situation with her kids, heck even grafting is hit by this new lore.||
or just beat her if me staying out of the way is easier
||Now we know she has 1000x more aura than the next schmuck to become god||
||i'm exaggerating a big but like, it does extremely recontextualize some of the most important shit that happens in elden ring, including the entire Golden Order, Marikas children and her relationship with them and the Shattering War||
||But like, how, exactly? Marika's origins make her more sympathetic, but in no way more justifiable||
||The DLC also in general just completely changes a LOT of shit about like, so many major characters by giving us a bunch of information and context about them that we didn't have prior which also contributes to fanfic writers bwing extremely cooked post-SOTE||
||Becayse it changes our understanding of Marika and gives new context for like, basically everything she did||
Uh, i’m down, i just beat ||Romina|| so i could swap characters and ride the high
||I mean, I honestly think she comes off in an even worse light now||
||Why was she running around subjugating the shit out of everyone, why was she wiping out other cultures, why did she do that to the Omen, what was up with the Shattering of the Elden Ring, why did she summon the tarnished back to fuck with her godhood and her/his position as lord||
||Yeah, the Greater Will having been gone from the start makes everything she did even more on her.||
||That's perfectly fair but i also never said it paints her in a better light||
||Just a different one||
||I'm not gonna pretend i don't have sympathy for her even with all the awful shit she did||
||No I get what you're saying it changes from this unknowable prophet ruler to a woman motivated by revenge||
||Just like i have sympathy for Hornsent even though his people genocided Marika's||
||Most of her motivation seemed to just be, the outer will is an asshole. Now it's oh she's also an asshole||
Lemme know i guess
||This is no longer some mad god shit, we are now perpetuating the cycle of generational trauma and violence, and NOBODY is escaping it||
Summon password?
LANCER
||I feel like people do forget the Will is gone but the Elden Beast and the Fingers are very here||
Left a summon sign for Lady Aurelia
||like the whole thing with radagon trying to fix the ring, they're still very much moving things too||
||Oh yeah I did forget that. That's wild honestly||
What kind of build?
||probably the biggest lore blurb from the dlc and it's from the weird finger guy||
Dex melee, straight + curved sword
cool
||This is no longer a story of a callous unknowable god and the outer god which puppets it, this is a story of revenge and the perpetuation of sufffering through the never ending cycle of violence that has become so vast it becomes inescapable||
||That the world is an actual planet and not a weird fantasy land?||
||That's fair||
||The context of Marikas home and the genocide of her people in my eyes at least completely changes the story and makss me see the shole thing in a new light||
||No the fact that the fingers are just making everything up because the outer will hasn't spoken since like forever||
||the outer will doesn't just take a long time, it's silent. The entire golden order is built on nothing||
||But we can't forget that SOTE also adds a lot of shit about established characters that changes things about them too or completely recontextualizes certain events||
||Really, it's the remembrance flavour text that clinches it for me, since Ymir is just A Dude and fallible to his own interpretations||
Oops
||The fingers and Metyr are iconic for starting a take-over-the-world plot for No Damn Reason||
||Still not sure how Empyreans come about tbh||
Dodged the wrong way and died bigly, sorry
I mean ur fine lmao
(Massive DLC spoilers)||Anyone who wrote fanfic that had anything to do with like, Radahn, Malenia or Miquella is deeply cooked with the information we got about them in SOTE||
||or how Marika Radagon have kids in general really but hey godliness||
||yeah I'm kinda surprised there wasn't any empyrean stuff in the dlc||
I did not fare much better, trust
||The empyrean grandam...||
You wanna keep trying or nah? I understand either way lmao
I put down another sign if you wanna keep going lol
cool lol
Huh
do you wanna join a vc or should we keep communicating in pms, I don't wanna clog the chat
But yeah just
ur not showing up lol
RIP Elden Ring fic writers, SOTE did not sugarcoat it
Lemme try replacing it
We can vc if you want too
You know crucible knights are even weirder post dlc
Like they don't even have their roots with the hornsent
They just think the crucible was cool and followed Godfrey around
||And Marika was cool with her Husband having a posse of knights dedicated to her greatest hatred||
Oh absolutely
He's got the swag and aura
Cool lion
The baddest bitch in the Lands Between
Like the lion is supposed to contain his ferocity or whatever but I bet it's still a chill big cat
Bro pulled up to the most important fight of his life with the training weights on
Unmatched energy
Serosh seems to act as a channel for his emotions
I still maintain that Serosh roaring when Godfrey holds Morgotts body was an expression of how much emotion Godfrey was feeling during that scene
Nothing about it really changed my view of things honestly
Really?
Same for me because I do not see it
yeah
Glanced to the side for that section
Specific details are weirder, like the Crucible Knights as mentioned
I remember hearing the first speculation that ||Mohg was under Miquella's spell as far back as a Zullie video like a year and a half ago -- we were all operating on the understanding he just couldn't turn that off at that point||
Like ||Mohg is still a freak. Just less a one||
(Post final boss spoilers)||I think Miquella causing the War of Aeonia and ruining both his siblings lives, killing their armies for the most part and completely ruining Caelid was pretty fucking significant to how i view that whole situation and them as characters||
||Idk it makes Mohg as much of a freak as the other demigods. Not the ultra menace||
||I maintain that I do not see how interpreting it that way either makes sense or really adds anything to the story of the game||
||He's just bad now like the rest of them instead of the Mohglester||
hang on summoned as hunter
||his whole thing is ritual blood sacrifice, no one that comes up with Reduvia is working on good terms||
never mind they died instantly
||i really don't get what's interpretation about it, the game basically spells out that Miquella had a hand in it||
||what changes because of that though||
||Malenia and Radahn for one thing||
||Huh, why did Miquella decide to go "if I can't have him" mode instead of just charming Radahn like he did everyone else||
||Are people assuming that because of the line from the Young Lion's armor?||
||it makes us know nothing about Malenia, huzzah||
This?
||Perhaps it couldn't be done on him while he was still alive||
I need to know if I've missed something
