So far my path on this replay has been

1. Spawn, dink around limgrave until I can kill the tree sentinel, bout level 20

2. After killing the goat morgott and the scum godrick I ignore liurnia and go to caelid

3. At this point I ignore any actual quests and start stalking elden ring trading discords begging for dryleaf martial arts because I was unaware that the DLC was essentially end game content and I wasn't having fun making a beeline to mogh, I like to play at my own pace.

4. While looking for a trade I use the wiki to travel all over limgrave, caelid, and liurnia Level up my weapons as much as possible, incidentally this also is a lot of pve especially in the mines.

5. By the time I finally get dryleaf arts and Danes footwork I'm like level 50 and I have enough smithing stones to get them to +12

As for the black blade kindred: the dryleaf palm strike ash of war does so much poise damage fully charged that two solid hits will stagger the kindred, so at that point it just becomes a question of not dying.

I am now somewhere in the realm of level 75. My highest Stat is vigor lol, at 50. My highest combat Stat is dex at 20 and somehow I'm doing fine. I think I'm being carried solely by the level of my weapons. Dryleaf and Danes footwork are both around level 18 now.

I'm probably going to do the same whenever I get to the DLC lol.
