#Elden Ring (DLC hype room)
1 messages · Page 22 of 1
The Age of Stars is in my opinion far and away the best
although as always, the endings leave it ambiguous because the point is that it is up to you to decide whether it is worth it or not
I think ridding the world of silly trees and flames is the best option
Age of Order is probably not optimal but still better than most of the alternatives
Let the jellyfish inherit the land
no fucking clue about the Age of Duskborn
we know what happens when we have Flames
Mostly fine
Hm, I'm finding this hard to phrase, but
||If the idea is that the frenzied flames end goal is to melt the entire universe together into one thing, none of that is actually 'destroyed', its transformed into another, unified state||
||Its a total transformation, rather than a total obliteration (which again, I think SUCKS)||
quite frankly the Age of Duskborn is the one i don't really wrap my head around
It's just the Golden Order again, but undead are legal
age of order vs age of stars is the most akin to Age of Light vs Age of Dark endings for dark souls I think
that's just "undead cna live with the nondead" no?
Area only accessable by the hinterland: ||wait what||
for Dark Souls 1 specifically
yeah the age of dark is spooky, unknown, and inevitable
||again i find the distinction to be unnecessary because everything that did exist no longer exists as it did, even if theoretically the stuff it was made of did||
but you know life will be good in the age of light, even if it will perpetuate certain injustices
Very minor spoiler: ||come back here when you finish Jolan's quest, if you got her spirit ash||
so in dark souls 1 the choice is whether you believe the promise of a golden age, at least for a short while, is enough to delay the dark just a little longer
||a fire turns the things it burns into ash, and the ash is all the same. Doesn't mean that's a desirable state to be in||
poor mohg btw
yeah

in comparison DS3 has imo the least ambiguous ending
"everything is fucking dead reegardless"
because we get to see the result of prolonging things in the Ringed City
Huh. Has anyone else tried out ||Heal from Afar||?
and it's simply limitless suffering and death
It might be the best healing spell, flat out
until everything is ash
you can point it at the ground to use it on yourself
if you've kept up with these lore conversations here, the new Vaati has nothing new
DS3 is whether you are going to go out kicking, screaming, writhing in the dirt
You see this is why you fight for the power of love and the human spirit
or accept your fate
thought so
and it has an extremely fast cast speed and heals comparable to Erdtree Heal
yeah
oh, what are Naruto spells
LMAO
i accepted my fate and brought forth the age of darkness personally
Something about Vaati not having any new theories is funny
Jutsu
it's not really a theory video, I think
i'm aware but what spells in eldie fit it
it's about the big new lore revelations and we already know them
bring about the liberation of the night
Indeed
Why do people die without fire and heat?
Because the light said so
WITHOUT LIGHT THERE ARE NO LAWS
RASENSHURIKEN
I did not even entertain the idea of linking the flame honestly
Genuimely just a fate worse than death
Destructo disk lookin ass
It do be a destructo disc
Ludleth dragged himself without his legs across miles to burn himself in the fire all over again
there's at least something admirable about htat
Oh thank you for this reminder
Ludleth was at least hardcore
I'm glad theres finally a ring incant that doesn't horribly suck
Is Ludleth the tiny guy?
I don’t know that he was right but his conviction was admirable
yeah the tiny lord of cinder
yes, Ludleth of Courland
I may be but small, but I will die a colossus.

People had to TELL ME it didnt suck
I didn't even test that shit because its just the from standard
'oh a ring incantation, this is going to do 0 damage, I will never slot it'
Triple Ring is strong though?
multilayered is fucking goated
finally, ranged holy damage that isn't complete ass
Hell, singular ring is strong as a basic enemy clearing spell
Forget triple Ring, Discus of Light is one of the best spells in the game
I will die on this hill
I used it extensively in this dlc
I can understand Yhorm's reluctance as well, personally
honestly i still haven't learned much about Yhorm
Various sorceries: ||I’ve respeced into an int build to try out some of the need spells and I have to say most of the ones I’ve come across aren’t very good. The glintstone nail stuff seems pretty bad outside of good tracking (and stars of ruin already exists for that), blades of stone is cool but its range is way too short, and Rellanna’s twin moons is cool but literally anything can knock you out of it ||
I'm really excited to be finally building faith
I used it to clear trash mobs effortlessly throughout, it's super effective against the ||Golem Smiths|| because it boomerangs and pierces, and I first-tried PK effortlessly with it
He became Lord to prove a point basically
that his fire linking let off so much power that it burned away his people
I dread the late game, but currently I can summon a dragon as stand and also tail whip peoples brains out and that feels very good
oh damn
at least I think that's what happened
the only reason light ring spells were "bad" in ER lategame is so much of the lategame is hyper-resistant to holy
And tried to save a people who didn't love him, for he was a Giant king of humans
the sole reason
||the moons will still hit if you get to summoning them in the spell||
Nails are cracked
Don’t give up on them
And that is where my dread lies
It is implied he had a human lover, as he used to have a shield with which he protected them, but then they died and he added a longer haft to his machete to two-hand it instead
What’s that?
spell from ||Ymir's|| quest
You literally mentioned them?
Shattering Nail is very strong, it’s an extraordinarily cheap sorcery for the damage it does, especially if you use equipment that buffs it
5 Nails goes nuts frankly
Apparently ||the scadutree thorn ground wave spell whips ass, but is also one of those weird faith only sorceries||
It’s INT Pest Threads
Wait I missed this
where is this
I'm an int/faith build, I want that 😛
||Its hard to cast but it’s also mad good||
Ooh, I’ll have to get that one when I can then
funny thing about that spell
fuck, I thought I combed that place
Will say, I’m loving ||glintblade trio||
I found ||Mantle of Thorns|| there but it's traaaash
||godwyn staying dead is actually something I like about the lore||
||Impenetrable Thorns is what it's called which also happens to be what Radagon used to seal the Erdtree||
so the various empyreans are supposed to represent like
I fucked up
end state of a crumbling empire right
It’s in the Shadow Keep
I might just have to look up the wiki for directions
I thought I was very thorough combing that whole dungeon
you probably were
multiple times over for secrets
it's in a stupid fucking place
my friend was playing a thorn sorcerer and combed the entire keep for it
and didn't find it
mood
It’s in a really stupid spot
||Impenetrable thorns or something else?||
Huge spoilers
Maybe—Ranni and Miquella are the weird exceptions
miquella seem pretty straightforward to me actually
Ranni is about breaking the cycle of imperial legacy and Miquella also
They’re “new” kinda
(final boss spoilers, don't click)||HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA||
Everlong by the Foo Fighters would go so hard with this picture
||Glintblade trio?||
||I don’t know about Miquella breaking the cycle||
Looked it up, grabbing immediately
(More spoilers)||Miquella is said to want to break the cycle and escape from the suffering caused by the Golden Lineage but massively ironically literally ends up doing the exact thing that Marika did||
I gotta do my full caster playthrough of the DLC
Ranni I think is a representation of how an empire may at the end face a rebellion that doesn't care about the potential damage and consequences to topple its order
Miquella is ||kind of about how rebellion can come from the right place and end up perpetuating the mistakes of the original state anyways||
||it was the fact that Miquella discarded his love tbh, that is what doomed his plan||
||The twisted part is that may have been a requirement||
||honestly i disagree, Miquella was fucked from the start due to what their plan was||
||Looking at it from the allegorical perspective, discarding his love was the moment Miquella committed to Winning over Doing The Right Thing||
||the age of compassion he would create would be nothing but an age of control. all would love Miquella, Miquella would love none||
Persnaps
||The whole casting off St. Trina as a separate entity thing, I think, adds some important context to Radagon||
idk if that was the only doomed part but it certainly did not help
Yes!
It was an inevitable consequence of the end he pursued, IMO
||Bottom line, Miquella was kind of always a manipulative little bastard, not that his abilities helped him not be that||
Eventually you have to decide between doing the right thing, or TAKING the power
||If Marika followed a similar path to Miquella, casting off her flesh piece by piece to pursue godhood, seeding Radagon may have been part of that||
||Once again, Ansbach is the realest mfer in any souls game||
Ranni literally killed herself to avoid becoming Empyrean
||It's Ansbach and Igon tbh||
she lost her body but kept her soul
||I think Igon is too obsessive to really be 'real' about anything lol||
||Igon is so fucking real for immediately locking the FUCK in when summoned against Bayle||
||"It was you that slew Lord Mogh, wasn't it? Ah. Well, at least it was in an honorable duel. He accepted that risk with his ambitions."||
If anything I feel incredibly justified in becoming Elden lord. If anyone can unfuck this, it's me
||Singlehandedly rehabilitating the image of Mohg by being so based||
||sometimes some fucker just needs to die||
||I mean to be 'real' about that kind of thing requires some level of dispassion imo||
is it real that if you summon patches to some fights he just dips out immediately upon seeing what he's being told to fight?
Yes
To be fair, I have been thinking since early in the dlc that ||we may owe mogh an apology for all the Chris Hansen jokes. Given how much of his actions were Miquella's plan, he may not have had all that much agency.||
||Igon does not have a single dispassionate subatomic particle in his body||
lmao
yes it is
the truest Patches moment
it's great
He’s following in the footsteps of Patch the Good Luck
If you summon him in Radahn he immediately sprints in the opposite direction
#1 smartest NEXT pilot
you summon him against Starscourge Radahn and upon seeing Radahn he immediately turns around and runs away
||Igon is based cause I relate so hard to being so mad at somebody you make your entire being a counter to that someone||
||He's the realest, he's so locked in about killing Bayle he literally stops being a sobbing broken mess on the floor as soon as he sees Bayle and immediately starts doing ultraviolence at full power||
||He does admit that he's been broken by his lifepath though||
||He introduces YOU as the 'true drake warrior', not himself||
||Cuz he knows he couldn't handle it||
||Igon is the realest mfer and the coolest DLC ncp imo||
||tbf we do summon the Spirit, no? cause he is a bit crumbly when we see him||
||BEHOLD A TRUE DRAKE WARRIOR! AND I, IGON||
what exactly is a frenzied flame anyways
||flame but out of control and mad||
||An outer god that MAY be a haywire, cancerous aspect of the Greater Will||
||The Order and the Fingers of the Greater Will are described several times as malfunctioning and abberant, and the Three Fingers may be the endpoint of that||
||1 finger? that's fine. 2? perfection. 3? now you've pushed it too far||
||No, 2 is wrong too||
well if the fingers ares upposed to be part of a hand
||The Two Fingers are also defective||
that means that the Order is 60% corrupted yeah?
Insert your own dirty joke here.
Oh I’ll insert it-
Try fing-
Need help with my pyromancer builds
❌

Depends what you’re fighting
can you beat elden ring as a wizzard who blasts bosses with magic
Yes
This is actual spoilers from the DLC but ||it seems like 2 is in fact the Intended Number||
||Metyr has two tailfingers it uses to communicate with the greater will- it is malfunctioning also but that seems to be a product of time as much as anything||
some NPC claims ||that the three fingers/frenzied flame, if they can be said to have an ideology, believe the the Greater Will splitting creation into being "several things" instead of "one thing" was a mistake, so they should burn everything to reduce it back to a single thing||
ah, so it might be a ||fascism allegory?||
||Ymir makes it pretty clear that the fingers that guided Marika - the Two Fingers - are deranged and mistaken||
I... don't think so?
Chat how do I tell ||Igon|| that I'm more of a Kendrick fan
fwiw both Hyetta and Shabriri independently say this, though it's not inconceivable that Hyetta is also just Shabriri wearing Irina's skin
You don’t, Drake Warriors kill Drakes
in the sense that it's hallucinating an imagined past to return to by cleansing modern society of its 'corruptions'
there's no indication that it's an imagined past, afaict pretty much everyone believes that same creation myth
it's not really a retvrn thing
I see
there's no cleansing corruption either
it's everything
there's not really any omnicidal real life ideologies
It’s less RETVRN and more “fuck it hit the undo button on everything”
honestly I suppose if Markia didn't want her order to be burnable she should've chosen something other than a tree
Posadism
well not many popular ones anyway
You could read it that way (and indeed there's a certain strongman element to the focus on a lord of frenzied flame that burns it all down), but I really think it's more cosmic and nihilistic than that. Nothing vs. Something.
Just in general
||Ymir isn’t the most reliable source on that. It may be that Metyr merely served her purpose as the first probe the Greater Will sent to the Lands Between and was discarded once the Elden Beast descended ||
There’s an aspect to it which demands an impossibly strong Lord of Frenzied Flame to burn everything but it’s less Fascist strongman-ism and more like wishing for the death drive embodied
The followers of the Frenzied Flame aren’t seeking an ubermensch, they’re seeking total annihilation as an alternative to suffering, and desire an annihilator that embodies their drive to perish rather than live in suffering
generally agreed
nuke everyone equally
the buffs are hard to go wrong with, Giantsflame Take Thee is real strong, and I'm a Black Flame Believer. People say Fire Serpent is good, but honestly I don't see it?
You can use any spells and weapons when it's not time to fight superbosses tbh
It's probably good in PvP because it has great tracking, but for pve I mostly notice its shockingly terrible range in PC hands
I’m fighting ||Meytr|| rn
unless you're PvPing or doing a really hard boss fight, equip whatever you want
Lightning.
as opposed to its sniper rifle/homing missile range when NPCs use it
My specific spell rec for ||Metyr|| is Pest Threads, or ||Pest Thread Spears||
I melted ||Metyr|| first try.
😛
charge it
wait, is it fucking chargeable? That changes everything if so lol
sure is
I'm also a Godfrey Icon believer
tap flame serpent is a tricky mixup, charged flame serpent is a heatseeking missile
Neat! I've been using Spectral Disks of Light as my missile barrage
its damage isn't great but the tracking and range is incredible
imo Messmer's Orb is the opposite, tab orb is cracked but charged orb is stinky
tap orb is a Chaos Dunk, you zip into the air and then immediately crash back down
very dangerous
very fast
charged orb is really only useful as the hardest callout of all time
you need to know with 100% certainty that your opponent is asleep at the wheel or in the longest animation known to man
my main experience with charged orb was trying to use it and then getting staggered out of it after a full charge and spending all the fp
the tracking is pretty good, yeah
also has frost buildup
spectral rings seems strange
Crucible Wings are so based
I have never seen it proc frostbite
Insanely fun
even spamming it
ghostflame spells scarcely actually proc frost ime
Also when I fought a Gravebird using it against me, it didn't cause any frost buildup 😛
so I assumed that was misinformation/willful thinking
are there any INT-inherent non-somber weapons
watched a youtube video and realized that Elden Ring has a strange theme of 2s, often relating to identity. Mind that I haven't played through the DLC to any significant plot details, so everything I'm about to say is based on just the base game.
||The obvious dual-identity in the world of Elden Ring is Marika and Radagon, two godly beings sharing a single body. This truth is of immense importance to the Brilliant Goldmask, who spends a great deal of time trying to parse the connection between the two. Beyond that, however, Morgott takes on the false identity of Margit the Fell, and is known as a veiled lord of illusion. There's Ranni, who introduces herself as Renna, a character who otherwise is only alluded to by the presence of Renna's Rise at the Three Sisters. Godfrey readopts the identity of Hoarah Loux when his true nature as a barbarian is revealed in his fight. Seluvis is implied to have some connection to Pidia, and some people have spectulated that Seluvis is Pidia, that Pidia is a puppetmaster and hides his frail self behind the haughty and arrogant persona of his puppet Seluvis. Rykard allows himself to be eaten by a serpent to shed his body and become something different. Ranni doffs her body in a similar way, literally provoking the events of the game through her desire to abandon her lineage and shed the chains of fate...||
Clayman Harpoon and Carian Thrusting Shield, off the top of my head
hmm
Not even mentioning||Miquella/Trina||
Yeah!
all I can say without spoilers is that theme persists
you should play the DLC now
THE CARIAN THRUSTING SHIELD WHIPS ASS BTW
Admittedly, better as a quality weapon with standard infusion than a magic infused weapon
To preserve the kickass block stats
it's a very good DLC
||2 is an important number in general. Twins are a common thing in the Lands Between, especially among the Demigods and their ilk. The interpreters of the Greater Will are Two Fingers, and their perversion comes in the form of the Three Fingers, seemingly breaking the pattern to signify unholiness...||
Clayman Harpoon is the only one outside the DLC
there are several new ones in the DLC though, including every smithscript weapon
other than the smithscripts and the carian thrusting shield what else
||D, who is a devout follower of the Golden Order, is a twin who kinda shares a soul with his other half. His armor depicts two people in one body. Gurranq is Maliketh, but the connection between the two beastmen isn't super strictly-defined...||
Hmm
||Meytr|| is kinda hard
Movement is confusing and higher damage than I thought
||Perhaps 2 is just an important number in the Golden Order? Goldmask seems to perform his calculations by pointing with his two fingers...||
||The arena is in water, rip face with Knight's Lightning Spear||
uh...||the chilling and frenzyflame perfume bottles?||
||Other faiths don't seem to care as much about twos. Hoarax Loux was a powerful figure under the Crucible, and only adopted his more refined Godfrey persona when he became a part of the Golden Order. Again, the Frenzied Flame communicates through the Three Fingers...||
||Metyr|| has a laser attack you need to watch out for, you can dodge it with careful positioning
Man, INTblades have it hard
dlc item spoilers ||I really love long mantles that are long enough to hide your hands, and it looks so good with the scaled boots and helmet||
But then, ||There are two great Glintstone masters with two powerful spells to learn, between Lustat and Azure...||
We really don't lmao
yeah lmfao
I wanna be clear, I'm shitposting, INT is doing great I'm just curious if you can do the FAIblade thing of getting INT base + INT infusion
Clayman Harpoon does it
Is the guardian halberd faith base and infusable?
but I think that's basically it for hyperscalers
I know it's the latter is it the former?
guardian halberd?
oh god! ||Gold and Silver are another duality! There are Gold and Silver Fireflies, found near bodies of water bathed in sun or devoid of it respectively! The two halves of D's armor are Gold and Silver!||
I was gonna mention smithscript, but you covered that
||The full, dark, and twin moons as well|| (dlc spoilers)
Ymir quest: ||did I just get a black hole as a spell||
Yes you did
Queelign's GS, the Black Steel Greathammer, smithscripts, AND the Fire Knight GS all have the hyper scaler property
that last one is a spoiler
||Not a black hole. A micro-universe.||
||Hopefully this one is better than gravitational missile||
Yes
Smithscript Weapons are where it's at for this
they have base int scaling on their physical damage
so if you infuse them the int scaling both improves and applies to both phys and magic damage
yeah. This used to be Erdsteel Dagger specific though!
clayman's harpoon has int scaling but it also has base magic damage
which is what's getting scaled by the int
Okay this thing is good
though this is funny too because you can cast scholar's weapon on it and the scaling will scale that too
yeah that spell is cracked
can't tell if I wanna do INT/FAI or ARC for my next DLC playthrough
I'm doing Int/Fai now
I have only in the back half begun to incorporate anything I found from the DLC into my build
mostly upgrades to the talismans I was already using and a few spells
good work
I've been absolutely killing shit with Knight's Lightning Spear
it might be my fav new spell lol
great damage, good tracking, and the immediate + delayed cast frequently staggers twice and sometimes the delayed cast will still fire and end a target's combo if I screw up and get staggered out of the initial
Yeah
I do like it
And the homing fire missiles
Maybe it’s because I’m not used to melee
But I staggered a ton with wing stance it was great
Yes
lord almighty the anvil hammer is tempting me away from the BB
I poise broke ||Black Knight Edredd|| in about 2-3 hits
I’m not quite sure what the point of that was
Also
Am I supposed to have more summon signs available for ||Leda|| than just two
Did I do a quest wrong
Temple Town: ||I'm sorry what||
yup
This seems insane
dlc item spoilers ||Is Sword of Light better than Miquellan Knight's Sword?||
In my heart ||Jolan|| is still alive
I’m really not sure why I had to do that
I thought she could be a fren but I guess not
In your heart?
In other news I’m gonna level up the Impaler Spear
||Jolan is still alive in the game too lmao||
Hey wait what
She invaded me I am confused
||Reload the area, go back to where Jolan used to be||
Oh
||Invaders are just a spirit sending||
If they're red and glowy, they're not the real person but a spirit-sending
If an invader isn't a glowy red shade, that's the real person
ohh
That said ||Jolan is one of two npcs you can give an Iris of Grace or Occultation to. The latter absolutely kills her dead. The former arguably does too but it's rather kinder and she's still a force ghost||
I genuinely didn’t know that
Wait
it has begun
Where the fuck does ||Dane|| come into this
Don't worry about him
Ash of War: ||...am I about to witness true horror?||
Nah
that's probably my fav new ash though
I can't really use it on my current char but I want it for my snake poison invader
as an alternative to poison moth flight
||I am so happy that with all the Celtic Mythology stuff, we finally got both weapons from the Four Treasures of the Tuatha De Danann||
Poison Moth Flight is pretty hard to land on a thinking human
Oh god it’s so cool
||Which weapon are you interpreting as the Spear of Lugh||
||Flame Spear Ash Of War||
Makes sense
Could also be ||Messmer’s Spear||
Considering it literally can be thrown and recalled
||Also possible yeah. We got the Literal Sword of Light and a few flaming spear options||
I've been trying Scarlet Aeonia on the final boss
effective, when I can land it without getting rekt 😛
||I really like it with the thrusting shields, or stuff like the capital g greatsword you can still decently block with||
||Do a two handed guard counter and send someone to heaven||
it has hyperarmor these days which is really nice, but unfortunately raw damage can still kill you dead
I am having fun with it but it’s a little slow
…oh yeah I still need to do the haligtree
Loretta’s mastery would be pretty useful
||Yes||
Eyup.
The music for that fight is so good
God I
I need to finish this
I still don’t understand why..
Leda is a zealot yes but the others..
Why would anyone agree with her?
Well Dryleaf is implied to be a bit of a fanatic too
Oh
I like her armor but it feels.. wrong to wear it.
I feel like I won’t be happy with how this ends
Should I do ||Grace||
This feels so heavy
Dane's an incomparable nutter, quite frankly
||they believe in miquella||
||Miquella|| better have a damn good plan to fix things to justify all of this
I swear
Now scrble, when has a golden godling ever had a justifiable plan?
ha ha ha
Marika thought she was justified too
I don't really know what Dane's deal is but ||Moore has nothing else in his life, and Redmane Freyja is excited for what she has learned about Miquella's plan
and if the Hornsent makes it that far I guess he thinks Miquella will give him a better deal than anyone planning on shacking up with Marika||
Why don't you hear ||Miquella's argument|| and decide for yourself
||Dane is a member of a sect of Erdtree faithful who lost their religion when they realized how horrible the Golden Order is and cast their lot in with Miquella, hoping to find some kind of salvation after they decided Marika had basically abandoned them||
DLC spoilers all, lore stuff:
||Anyone notice that the Gate of Divinity is depicted in the Godslayer's Seal, and that the Godslayer's Greatsword is the Rune of Destined Death entwined with the Spiral?||
Curiouser and curiouser
||i would have thought the DLC would reveal more on Death, Destined Death, and the Godslayer, but there’s precious little hints||
||a little bit of stuff on the deathbirds but not much||
||To go a little deeper: the Godskin adepts are noted to have assimilated inhuman physiology in a Crucible-like fashion: “Nobles are the most ancient apostles who are said to have assimilated inhuman physiology. Not unlike the crucible, the Erdtree in its primordial form." ||
||The Godskins were led by the Gloam-Eyed Queen, an Empyrean who Marika defeated in the age before. Until now we didn't have a motive, but now it seems like the Gloam-Eyed Queen was aligned ideologically with the Hornsent on some level, and the way that the Godslayer Greatsword is put together it seems to signify that Death must be delivered to the undying in order for the Crucible's cycle of life, death, and rebirth to continue||
God im excited (major spoilers)
It
good luck, I genuinely hope you're better than I am
Hehe. Good luck
I got really frustrated with summoning ||Thioller|| because half the time he just doesn't walk through the fog gate
and sometimes randomly dies without having done so
He(?)'s scared
Need to either get aid from Let Me Tank Him, or become the Let Me Tank Him
at this point I've just started trying to solo it instead of relying on summons because they seem to make the situation actively worse a lot of the time 😛
I read that as "get laid" the first time and was like ???? before I realized that was wrong
||Funnily enough on my winning run he kind of clutched it by taking a lean break during the whole first phase||
||So he came in fresh and full on flasks for the Actual Hard Part and got deadly poison on while drawing aggro like a champ||
OH FUCK
the summons do be giving the boss +100% EHP
yeah...
Our boy really proved himself
which is horrible on a boss that already has a cool ||50k hp||
I genuinely can’t think of any other garmet to fit Sacred Crown than the Haligtree armor
So much fucking HP...
So.. that’s how I’ll finish things I suppose
I'm also still wearing my basegame fashion, you're not alone
As it should
I don’t even know what’s going to happen but I am afraid
||Time to fight milord… and win I don’t know what comes after.||
send it
Final boss phase two spoiler, pretty vague: ||Radahn goes Super Saiyan||
Also that fight terrifies me lol
||Base your strategy around your allies' attacks||
||You'll note they're using strategies that work||
he's weak to ||stuff which ignores how big his health bar is||
also ||the fight is substantially easier without the summoned allies in my experience, they add way more HP to him than they aided me||
Black Knife my beloved
Iki ||is Gae Bulg one of the treasures?||
||Cuz if not I direct you toward looking at Midra||
Final boss strategy||He's weak to Scarlet Rot I think, and a strategy I've heard repeatedly is that going full tank is a good way to go. So, probably go full Verdigris and defense buffs, with an Antspur Rapier to poke||
Yeah || Midra got gae bulged||
||a surprising number of his attacks can be blocked well with a greatshield including some which look like they shouldn't be||
Oh god ||thioller|| is so cute just god I wish I were them
||Gae Bulg is not one of the treasures||
Maybe ||Messmer|| needs a hug
Kinda wishing the final boss took more than one attack from ||Mogh||
mood
as someone who has gotten pretty good at fighting Malenia, uh, yeah this is dire
Seamless Co-op mod is launching for DLC in 16 hours:
Malenia is like the Oprhan of Kos where she's tough but fair. The final boss I'm hearing is uh...borderline not that.
A classic
Fort
,Night
If he fails.. we have no hope
I like how all the comments are like this
Quoting Let me solo her (@TsuboiKlein)
The Final boss is kicking my butt rn
He's just a little boy
mein mama is ein good humor und iz takin' me to zee ze boatz
Someone needs to mod that fucker to wear a Supreme hoodie and track pants.
I'm deadass right now, I need Drip Mohg
He'll keep you from taking Miquella BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY
||(fittingly) necro but i totally get that, im pretty much fine with godwyn being the god of dead fish and the ending of the dlc i just wish there was a definite wrap up/ fight with him ,and a little more setup for radahn, I expected it to be him, and never expected a successful godwyn ressurection..... However a failed godwyn resurrection with subsequent eldritch horror would have been cool, anyways||
I think they've explicitly ruled out more DLC, but haven't ruled out a sequel
The final boss is very tough, but outside of a single move, I think they're still fair
They're mostly difficult due to bad communication on tells.
There's stuff you can just outrun , and stuff you can jump
But it's really not obvious
Clearly we need a red kanji to appear above their head :v
And a lot of attacks are setup such that a failed roll is hugely punative
See, I hated that mechanic because it just said do one of three things, with little actual info to memory.
How screwed over would I be by using an upgrade Demi-Human Queen staff for making a spellsword build?
Cuz I wanna use the demi-human sword for it
nvm gonna use Azur's staff and just go for a 'primal glintstone spellblade' look
Just had a pretty anime-ass duel with ||Ancient Dragon-Man||. Tagging hits, trading sword beams, both of us entirely out of healing. We both get down to the last drop of HP, rush each other, and I land my swing first.
(I was only out of healing because I burnt the last of my flask uses on the ||Magma Wyrm|| up above)
It's one of the best staffs for scaling when you're below 50 int, iirc
Hmm... I wasn't intent on being below 50
,,, i must have missed this guy. theres another one
as an aside (dlc item spoilers) ||The Heirodas mask looks really good with Gloried Attire||
Oh, that's sick
I just need to find the appropriate build for it lol
It feels more like a Str/Int fit tbh
Doing some further research on staffs:
Lusat's is the strongest if you can handle the FP cost.
Demi human below 50 int. Carian Regal above 68. Academy glintstone between 60-68 INT
But if you're fit is optimal
I mean
Then you're actually optimal because fashion souls
This set annoys me for one very stupid reason and that's that it doesn't come with the Brave's Leather Helm
Which I've wanted for a while for fashion reasons lol
but has been unobtainable
The helmet comes on the other highland set lmao
iirc it's nearby the first one
But yeah I have the Leather Crown
I thought it only came with a headband? 😮
Nope, there's a less impressive looking highland set that comes with the crown
Str/Int fans, eat your heart out
Could someone help me move an item btw lol
day before yesterday I lost 600k to falling through the world
I gave one of my new saves an armor piece for the fit, but now I wanna test the piece for a build on my current save lmao
... I should've made sure that I wasn't replying to a post from yesterday, didn't look at the timestamp. sorry.
l o l
post shadowkeep ||is the gaea mentioned in gaius's loreset his pig?||
||I believe so lmao||
||https://youtu.be/U9u0kbZrNSY?si=42wYWpYT8L8T2cmg|| final boss spoilers
If you enjoyed the video please leave a like and Subscribe
So
Okay nvm the whole thing gets spoilered cool
I was about to be like 'idk if the spoiler is effective given the title'
XD
RIPPPPPPPPPPPPP
Holy SHIT that is unfortunate
At least we can rely on the Moghwyn bird for easy runes
was ridin' through the gravesite plains, shit was loading slow
when I crested a hill all ground collision was just gone lmao
Indeed, as it turns out the response to genocide is not countergenocide
Anybody?
Finally fought ||Metyr||
That was some || seriously bloodborne shit, what the fuck? ||
Huh
I had an interesting realization
I wonder if (dlc location spoilers) ||the woods around Midra's Manse are the Helphen||
RIGHT?
I deadass thought I'd walked off-set
...what in the goddamn
||WHAT IN THE BLOODBORNE||
LOL
||OH DEAR FUCKING GOD SHE LEVELED INTO THE PEGASUS LICENSE||
God this boss is fucking cool
If I wanted to shoot maximum possible lasers, what would be the best way to do that?
Yeah it was a fun one
I want to be the Sherman of Elden Ring
does pest threads count
😛
Probably not lol
That one Three Fingers incantation
Frenzied Burst is a pretty good laser
The madness sniper thingy?
as is Comet Azur yes
Comet Azur is
Eh
It's good on paper but there's often factors that just render it kinda not very good
Like movement beyond walking towards you
Hell yeah, might need to do that. Leaning towards Faith though mostly, due to the Sword Of Light
Sword of light?
though ironically I kind of like the idea of ||just keeping it as the Stone Sword||
||Strike Damage!||
If you can find the ||Abyss|| you can get yourself the Ultimate Laser Move at the end
I will not explain beyond that
||the madness incant from Midra?||
||Yup||
Ok but Laser Cool
Frenzyflsme is functional
Alright, so Frenzy Burst, Placidusax's Ruin, and the Sword Of Light
They're a targeted micromissile swarm
Good start on the Laser Mage
Should also probably pick up those light pillar incants from the DLC
Crucible Flower too
Huh, no idea what that does. Lemme go check it out
Oh it's the flower laser thing
Yeah I'll have to grab that
Now to get the drip ready
Nox Mirrorhelm is a given
I didnt get much use for Frenzied Burst on bosses but it was probably by far my most used spell outside of them
||If you're an Int/Fth build aye||
||It seems like it will have worse scaling than the most powerful seal or staff, but the convenience of only needing one for an int/faith full caster is pretty good||
||Right, right, been wanting to go for an INT/FAI build anyway so this'll give me good incentive to go for that||
(Non boss) enemy spoilers: ||WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY FLY NOW!?||
Fun fact: my game crashed the first time I looked at these
You need to update your drivers to patch the arachnophobia issue
Graphics card got spooked
(Nearby boss) ||What about the Arkoudaphobia issue?||
||Finally, I have obtained bear communion||
I truly hate the worms that shoot that pink ball.
Why no I don't like doing anything for like 10 seconds while getting vomited on.
Lampreys, and those fuckheads are annoying, yeah
That area is so empty too 😭
God, yeah, there's TWO things there and one of them is necessary for a boss.
Having TWO of them with overlapping fire paths is pain.
You can summon tho which is nice ig
So is there any lore for the weird blue worm guys?
Why do they have feet?
These fellers
They do the same shit as the jellyfish, however I didnt find any lore they're just lil things
Theres gotta be lore somewhere
They do sea cucumber stuff with the vomit attack
I dont even think they drop a crafting material for scraps of info
The only idea I have is that they're the scadutree version of the jellyfish
Which is obvious
But it's just like, why?
Hmm they’re also sort of sea-themed
Jellyfish and sea cucumbers
The ocean in ER is usually associated with undeath
Scorpion river catacombs: So there’s just… a wall in here that marks you with inappropriate activity?
…actually I’m not sure if I should spoiler that one
Huh?
Like it kicks you from the server?
There’s a wall that doesn’t have collision so you can walk through it and fall to your death
I immediately quit to menu and reloaded to not lose all of my runes, then I got an inappropriate activity warning and was sent to menu
So I guess this catacombs sucks for multiple reasons
Ah yea that wall, I think you've essentially lost your runes when you phase through it
||God the sound the basilisk statues make is giving me a headache||
Do they even have a name?
||Is there a way to shut those statues off? Or do I just have to deal with deathblight build up when I’m exploring this place ||
god
idk who else knows this
Let Me Solo Her has updated his fashion to look like one of those requisite 'old badass who's returned out of retirement' characters from tv shows by putting on Morgott's cloak
Based
And of course
Bet he does Greatjar
||But aye, he does||
||You can briefly disable them with destined death effects and they won’t hurt you if you’re invisible or under mimic veil but there’s no permanent removal||
I have no idea
||The one time I don’t grab mimic veil 😩 At least I have unseen form though||
Don’t forget the trip to the mohg bird
i sincerely preferred to farm runes in the dlc zones lol
You can also use law of regression or order healing to clear deathblight lol
Makes crossing some of those rooms easier
I respeced into sorcerer
I’ve got a few boluses at least
The one time i’d ever consider slotting order healing
Faith/Arcane means I just spent a lot of time in between lying on the floor
||Of course I do this right before going into the dungeon with knight’s lightning spear
||
It’s def doable with pure stealth/hustle tho
I didn’t bring any spell aid and did it no deaths
I did equip prince of death pustule though
Beat the boss and ooooooh 👀
||...wait shit the ash probably scales with dex doesn't it||
||...my opinion of Metyr is quickly dwindling||
||Can you stop attacking a goddamn moment so I can do something besides dodge||
Helping folks with bosses for Rune Farming ( and because the bosses are cool ) and god, ||Messmer|| phase 2 OST goes wild
Hard to focus on the actual runs
||Oh my god the damage of the ash of war of a weapon with e scaling in dex scales with dex||
Yes.
Yes it does.
...I can't connect to the online at all anymore
Hopefully fromsoft fixes that
||Oh boy I really fucking hate Metyr now||
||I thought the dual wielding enemies were bad but at least they stop attacking eventually||
||And she just WILL NOT focus on whatever help I summon, always hyperfocuses on me so I can't do shit because she is constantly fucking attacking me||
dabs in Int/Fth
Go to your steam, click on the game, go to manage, go to files, and verify your files
Usually takes a bit of time, but it fixes the Inappropriate Activities thingy
That same thing has happened twice to me before with this DLC
I tried that but then I noticed I was never using my sorceries because of the poor scaling
Very backloaded
70/50 is the point at which it firmly beats everything but Lusat's staff though
I guess it was just bad at the level I was at then
It also beats every other staff at 50/50 but 70 int gives much more fair treatment to other top tier staves
It was definitely like ~50 behind the golden order seal
Oh yeah golden order seal kicks ass at much lower stats
you want the Gelmir Glintstone Staff for a direct Golden Order Seal comparison
though that one's more of a pain in the ass since you have to farm it and there's one enemy who drops it. And that enemy sucks to farm
(it's an 11% drop from the Man-Serpent Sorcerer at the end of Volcano Manor)
Does anyone have advice for ||Metyr||
Honestly I destroyed it first try with Pest Threads
||She NEVER FUCKING STOPS ATTACKING PLEASE GOD JUST FUCKING QUIT FOR A MOMENT||
if you're more into sorceries, shard spiral is probably similarly effective
if you're into melee...I have no useful advice
That worked, thank you!
I'm doing something else
Fuck this shit
...god, all the enemies in this DLC feel stupidly aggressive for some reason
Weapon spoilers: ||found the scriptsmith hammer, I love this thing it’s very silly||
||The scriptsmith weapons are so delightful||
Honestly the new weapons are the main thing that makes me sad about the DLC, in that I love them but there's no practical early-entry for them
With most weapons in the game if you know what you're doing you can zoom and pick up an item within an hour of starting a save and build around it
but the DLC and all DLC content is very lategame and as big as the DLC is, the game is at least like 75% over by the time you can get anything in it
Yeah I think if you've got a thing you really want to play around with, no shame in getting it dropped over or just cheating it in
so none of these cool new weapons can really be built around in the same way, though you can always respec
yeah that's also fair
dropping is real
dlc item spoilers; I made a Lord Yupa cosplay
!!!! the greatest swordsman in all the periphery !!!
That's some solid drip
i wish you could do a ng+ keeping all the items but having them not be upgraded already i think that would be perfect in my book, just right
eg. If I really want to make a Perfurmer build I'm not gonna wait until the DLC to get me a Firespark Bottle or something
Yeah!
though honestly I've planned out potential perfumer runs before the dlc even dropped
the main thing that's stopped me is farming Miranda Powder sucks ass
😛
lol yeah
twinking ig would help but i shouldnt have to do like networking for cosplay
...what do you mean by twinking here? because I associate that term with what I frequently do for runs, which is using foreknowledge to go to high level areas at low levels for specific items to make a build work
I think that's what holiday means
They're lamenting both available options to them being ass XD
im referring someone else online dropping a high level item to you as a possible solution
Like when I started a run as a black knife user by skipping to altus plateau and killing the black knife there at like level 20
ah
no, no it would not
The main way I'm gonna go about doing all the builds I wanna do for the dlc weapons is just
NG+
And splitting my saves
ng+ is almost good but i worry itll be too easy at early levels with everything upgraded, but ive never actually done it b4
As close as we can get to the Burial Blade v-v
Aye
Not my video but
God I wish Crossbows were better
Having an offhand crossbow looks ridiculously cool, but does absolutely nothing for me strategically
How were the new repeating and shotgun ones, still ass?
Shotgun is inaccurate as hell
Repeater might be good, but it's an absolute pain to use
The fashion I wanna try and bet fucks tremendously is the Ronin chest with (dlc item spoilers) ||star-lined blade||
perfect trash goblin spellsword vibes
The repeat shot is the Ash of War, so you can't off hand it, and have to hold the AoW button down as you fire, and if your target moves at all the whole thing misses
And of course it's very FP hungry
Pretty much the only usecase is to speedrun your status application at the beginning of a fight and never using it again
Overall, other than that one use, Pulley Crossbow is Just Better
Pulley crossbow is cool but that area is so weird
Mt. Gelmir?
Yup, backside of gelmir
The repeater crossbow is good for applying statuses on large bosses and thats basically it
The best crossbow is probably still pulley crossbow as a status tool
bleed bolts (burred bolts) can be bought infinitely from a merchant
If you have the equip load, I definitely recommend using the Repeater Crossbow as a one time use fight starter, but if you value consistency and ease of use at all, Pulley Crossbow is the way to go
Updated my gear, losing the dancing blades. They're cool but now I have the perfume talisman
perfumes look sick
also dancer outfit is sweet
I actually really like the altered version
it's just a little black dress
Yeah it’s just a weird and kinda neat lore area
Bunch of marginalized groups chilling in a remote valley
the pulley crossbow specifically is right next to the Demihuman Village with a group of Raya Lucarian Scholars teaching the queen magic
Yeah it’s neat
they're all hostile to you, of course, but they seem to be cohabitating harmoniously
I think one of the super stone wizards has a body there as well
you can spot a sorcerer positioned atop a rock with a bunch of demihumans sitting down and seemingly listening to a lecture or speech.
and yeah, Azur lives nearby too
They're paired weapons by default
lol
So two handing them just pulls out another
okay cool but can you power stance two different perfumes
||This seems... somewhat good||
||Does it apply to ANY weapon being wielded in two hands?||
Yeah, two handed weapons of any sort work but not paired weapons
With me losing the dancing blades it's not really optimal but it looks too stylish to take off. XD
Oh, bows and the other ranged weapons dont work either alas
hot take: there should be more neutral NPCs just hanging out
Makes sense
DAMN IT
I dared hope I might get anything for my bow-only run out of the DLC
😛
Would be cool yeah
||I think it’s like a 15% increase too||
There is a talisman that does just this but for bows though
Okay there's ||The sharpshooter talisman|| but that does not help with Radagon. 😛
yeah I already permaslotted that
DLC has the Arrow's Soaring Sting talisman
Does it stack with the existing ones?
(Didn’t mean to @ , sorry)
iunno, I don't use bows
arrow's reach isn't that useful but if it's free it's free I guess
I know where the place is, though I don't remember finding it when I went there
I mean, when you're invading Arrow's Reach is pretty good
but at least it's a location I could reasonably reach with my archer!
oh god I don't invade with my bow user
It's enough of a challenge run against enemies without a brain
😛
+18%
more of it!
pretty fuggin good
Yeah but +18% is like. 50 damage per arrow? Definitely not nothing, but not a game changer
not compared to real weapons that do real damage
😛
I do wonder why they made bows so terrible
Okay so
Rabbath's Cannon seems like a real option for ranged only
as someone who has actually done almost all of the game bow-only, including beating Malenia and Mohg...they're pretty godawful but they do have their advantages
the light bow moveset is one of the most flexible and fun in the game, unironically
the jumping and rolling shot come out very fast and legolas-ing about is a joy
I had an invasion moment against a host and two phantoms all named Proctologists who did nothing but jump and shoot poison arrows with the Black Bow
all wearing full Night's Cavalry gear
sure you do like 300 damage per shot even optimized at high level, but it's fun
tarnished-type enemies are the worst because they have i-frame dodges and input read your shots, so you're just wasting arrows unless you can bait something and catch them in the animation.
I wouldn't even say bows are terrible. I've also done most of a bow only playthrough (killed mohg with it) but even with my DLC character I got good mileage out of my serpent bow
maybe the most upsetting coordinated gank I've ever invaded into
You can use it to break up groups of enemies before engaging them, and knock out casters that are harassing you
I still haven't beaten radagon but that's a much more complex problem
Most caster enemies have godawful poise, so dumping arrows into them means they ususally can't hit back
yeah bow utility is actually fantastic
oh btw Jane have you tried Ansbach's bow
Bone Bow?
Ranged weapons being terrible has been a constant of Souls game from the very beginning - I'm fairly sure it has to do with them being low to zero commitment options with plentiful resources, so they're relegated specifically to being utility or poke
I did see bone bow but I'm not playing the dlc with my archer currently
so haven't seriously used it
Is it the projectile parry, it’s the projectile parry isn’t it?
Yes, partly
I'll probably end up using bows of some kind on all my subsequent characters to be honest, they're just so handy
he also just has endboss hp and is immune to statuses, which I've been using as my "make up the difference" on damage.
Okay radagon is only immune to bleed, not all statuses
Just casually parrying an entire comet azur
but he resists poison and frost arrows are horrible to farm for
Elden Beast also has that dummythicc hp and blanket immunity no
Also, man the phrase || 'Maybe they were made to be better than their contents' about the jars || gets fucking dark in the DLC.
and Elden Beast has blanket immunity, yeah.
The other thing that makes bows a bit iffy is a lot of later bosses dodge ranged attacks
||to be fair, the maingame jars are a completely different species||
Actually my concept strat for Elden Beast (if I could get there, I have yet to beat Radagon) is hardswapping to the Lion Greatbow and using that.

not so sure they are
||Where is this stated?||
Yeah, Malenia was a serious challenge
||They are! We know what goes into maingame jars and it's different, their purpose is to ferry the dead back to Minor Erdtrees and be shattered by a Tree Avatar when they're full, to recover the dead and bring them back for Erdtree Burial||
the strat here btw is to bait attacks and catch them in an animation. The rolling shot is really helpful for this, you can frequently punish and roll an attack in the same move.
Oh! incidentally, secret tech for bow builds: Spear Talisman. It applies to all pierce damage when animation-catching, which is the best time to fire a bow anyway
Yeah, spear talisman is so good
||Stop peepin me with them peepers||
my favorite dumb tech for this dungeon: ||Mimic Veil||
||if it thinks you're a candlestick, it doesn't see you enough to apply deathblight||
eyyy
Unseen Form also works
||...also, found the wall that sends you plummeting to your death||
oh no
0/10, terrible secret
