#Elden Ring (DLC hype room)
1 messages · Page 20 of 1
where are the small lightning axes
||she killed messmer with them too||
You're mom
yeah she borrowed them from yours
So, answer
har har xD
||I don't think so, but we know very little about snakes in Elden Ring. There was an immortal serpent that people were sacrificed to (probably the same as Rykards) and the Gladiator set mentions that the serpent is an enemy of the Erdtree, no idea what that means.||
It seems that all of ||Marika's Children|| have been touched by distinct ||Outer Gods||, but Rykard went and made the choice himself
||the Snakes Messmer has are not really mentioned that much, the most we know about them is that Marika replaced one of his eyes by a seal to keep them within his body, and that she abandoned him out of fear iirc||
And ||Is it even an Outer God? It was here first. Is it a Regular God? Is there a difference.||
||this is clearly related to the new Starfield DLC Shattered Space where we deal with House Va'ruun and their fanatical ways of worshipping The Great Serpent||
I think it's only the children of ||her and Radagon that were touched by outer gods||
||The what||
What about the twins? :o
||we do know about some new gods in relation to the dlc, specifically the Tutelary deities mentioned in one of the spirit ashes||
||Also, did FromSoft/GRR really just split the Nameless King into Godwyn and Messmer?||
All I know is gods seem territorial as hell
||the starfield is getting a dlc and house Va'ruun is a key player, they're said to worship The Great Serpent. IDK what that is in terms of sci-fi game but hey, snake stuff||
||Children on Marika and Radagon||
Marika and Godfrey!
Donkey!
||Ah I thought you were refering to the Multiverse stuff in SF||
||The Crucible is also technically a deity of worship, though it seems to be more passive? We never get any hints of sapience in anything describing it||
||Cause to my very sparse knowledge the DLC also includes that||
( we can't, he was murdered v-v )
||none of them were touched by outer gods though, at least not directly, Mohg did find one later in life, but most of Marika's children did so except Miquella and Malenia||
I think we're getting confused cuz iirc there are two sets of twins
Are those scorpion spider ashes any good?
||it's the same case for Ranni||
Having a bigass bug on my side seems fun
There's also Miquella and Malenia
Morgott has ||Bloodflame|| all up in his stuff though
||Malenia was touched by the Scarlet Rot from the beginning iirc||
||The Crucible is notably NOT an outer god, and is in fact native to the Lands Between/Land of Shadows||
||like I said, it seems like only children of Marika and Radagon were touched by gods||
||Isn't the Crucible the the primevil form of the Erdtree?||
||yeah but so did Morgott, that's something to do with their Omen blood technically||
||The Formless Mother just capitalized on that and gave Mohg more blood magic shit||
it can apply poison
||it is said to be yes||
Miquella and Malenia are Godfrey's kids tho...
||either way, the Crucible is not an outer god as it is native to the world of Elden Ring||
Shadow keep: ||I've thrown about a dozen hefty fire pots at this thing and nothing has happened, I feel like I'm missing something||
this is, not true
they are the children of Radagon and Marika
||Hefty Furnace Pot||
Wait what?
nope
||Did you land them in the "pot"?||
Radagon and Marika
||Then wtf is Miquella going on about with Radahn being his||
I forgot the other disaster couple
That is what happened
spoilers
Marika only had three children with Godfrey
||It has to be a furnace pot||
his half brother
spoiler that
Poison sucks though, that's not very promising
A fact from the base game lol
yuppers
i've been using a knight ash
This is `100% dlc spoilers
every one of the demigod children are kids of Marika/Radagon
Miquella doesn't 'go on' about anything in the base game lmao
therefore they are all half siblings or full siblings
Welp, guess I need to find the recipe for that
Marika is Radagon and Radagon is Marika
thus any children of Radagon are half siblings with any children of Marika
||Do the Furnace item things even do anything||
||The items you get from dead golems||
needed for furnace pots
I do think ||Messmer and Melina were children of Marika and Radagon, but they predate most of the others||
ah
||I forgot Melina was one of Marika's kids ngl||
location, if you need it
||Is that confirmed or nah?||
||Messmer was definitely Marikas firstborn and Melina is the only reasonable option to have been his sister||
||and predate Radagon as Elden Lord||
||it's not confirmed no||
||but she's the only reasonable option||
||Yeah, the only question is if Radagon's the father. I think he is though, and I think they were born after (or during) the war with the fire giants||
||It is never afaik made clear who messmer's dad is, it's probably Radgon but some people speculated it's a third person (the Fell God of Fire)||
||it simply wouldn't make sense for her to exist in the state she does, have Messmer have a sister who was burned, and instead make Messmer's sister be some random unknown child of Marika||
His rememberance references one
||personally I think Radagon is the easiest explanation||
||I agree, it just predates his time as Elden Lord||
||Radagon is the easiest cuz of the red hair, which is admittedly strong evidence||
||The kindling that burned inside Messmer the Impaler. A dark thing, eaten away at by a wicked serpent. Burns the sealing tree said to be found at the old Rauh ruins. Messmer, much like his younger sister, bore a vision of fire||
They're from a really toxic relationship with the Gloam Eyed Queen
||"Messmer, much like his younger sister, bore a vision of fire" This particular line, bearing a vision of fire, is the reason i think it has to be Melina||
ooooooooooo, that's a juicy one
oh, here's a big lore question ||What creature is Marika pulling the gold rune from in the Shadow of the Erdtree story trailer?||
||maybe she fucked the snake who knows||
||He only has two other sisters, and like, it can't be Ranni or Malenia||
||it's at the gate of divinity and everything is soaked in blood||
||unknown i think||
really worth giving the Shadow of the Erdtree story trailer a rewatch
but yeah
Also, of all the characters, I hope there's some sort of afterlife for ||Midra||, dude did not deserve what he got. Renalla turned into a husk from a rocky divorce and Sage tanked this for so long
||I think she is pulling grace out of the people used to make the gate||
||Messmer is mentioned as having a sister who bore a vision of fire and that fits Melina like a glove||
||I will also point out it does appear Melina has very dark auburn hair, which I thought was just brown||
||She's standing in the flesh of a dead creature, and it's very large||
||unfortunately he very likely immolated his own spirit||
||the only other option is that it's an unnamed unknown child of marika that is still hidden which makes no sense at all, and it cannot be Malenia or Ranni since they do distinctly not bear visions of fire||
ahh right that ol' chestnut
||i just think the gate was probably a bit fresher back then but who knows||
||Yeah we kinda pushed Midra over the edge into basically having a psychotic break at being disturbed again||
Also did they expect him to die? Or was this around the time Death Broke
ohhhh
||So his boss is I'm pretty sure him just 'peacing out' and self-annihilating and leaving you to deal with it||
i didn't realize that ||the Hornsent actually put that sword in Midra to execute him||
||it clearly didn't owrk||
||Ye it was his punishment||
also ngl
||i'm a bit mad it's a greatsword||
Punishment for.. setting up shop in a cursed valley, I guess
||why the fuck does Nanaya have his spine?||
||was really hoping for like a light greatsword pokey move set||
There's theory that ||their son|| was another almost-lord
||I don't think it was an execution, I think they probably reckoned they couldn't kill him in a way that mattered, so making him suffer was their punishment for him||
||well, the sword is specifically mentioned as being used for executions, but he didn't die from it so who knows||
||Huh.||
||it does also mention that it's a "small spinal column" which i guess could fit? who knows||
||Well what the fuck.||
||'Endure.' 'The word was a curse.'||
||Golden greatsword that once pierced the body of Midra, master of the manse. Used by the hornsent in the execution of a damnation like no other. The barbs that pierce the victim from within wind gently around the blade.||
idk ||whose spine it is|| but I do know that it makes a really sick torch
||Well then.||
it's feeble for a reason c:
||You really fucked that up, didn't ya hornsent?||
||Man the Hornsent really were going around doing all sorts of shit huh||
idk it worked for a pretty long time
Albinaurics seemingly the only peoples in all the lands between without heinous intent of -some- variety
And of course, this means they are hunted
||Didn't feckin' kill 'im tho, did it XD||
||it got him contained||
||everyone struggling with Gaius would disagree|| but yeah you're mostly right
although it may just be that they haven't had the chance or time yet
||They were never saints, they just happened to be on the losing side of the war||
Elden Ring shockingly anti-authoritarian for game about becoming Lord
i mean
||Okay Leda has gone mad and wants to cull the non believers, that’s nice||
the DLC goes incredibly fucking hard on the concept of ||perpetuating the cycle of suffering||
||Are the weird frogfaced fuckers and the decrepit old dudes without working legs and the silver archers all albinaurics?||
||Bit of a stupid question, just wanna confirm||
A classic, lol
like genuinely every fucked up thing that happens is someone just, ||perpetuating the cycle of suffering that someone else started||
yes
this is correct
||Oh god I can give her suggestions. There is no way in hell I’m doing that though||
Who hurt you, Shabriri, why you gotta be like that
Yeah. First gen albins are the guys with no legs, second gen are frogs
||wonders if this plus the Tibetan/Chinese influences in Hornsent architecture and bosses is meant to evoke buddhism stuff||
||the reason the old dudes and silver archers do not walk is because uh, they have bloodclots in their legs which stop them working||
||the second gen albinaurics seem to not have that problem but they look goofy as shit and iirc are kinda dumb||
Second Gen can't speak ( on purpose by creation, because, Sorcerors also Not Nice )
Good luck
chuck a moon
What if Shabriri is ||Midra's child, like I've seen some people suggest Midra having||
pog
The Albinaurics don't have time to be awful
everyone is torturing them or trying to do genocide
so they are eminently busy trying not to go extinct or be tortured to death
I like this but the talisman makes it sound like guy's ancient
||Like he got punished while the Hornsent were still running the show, which if I had to hazard a guess gives us at least a good few centuries||
Also not clear what Shabriri did outside slander
||She’s going after the hornsent because he might betray Miquella, how did she go off the deep end this quickly||
timelines are loose in From games
Do like the 'he got the Traveling Merchants doomed'
||Leda is unambiguously a Zealot||
well consider ||she is the only one of them who was a follower of miquella before she was charmed, so why would miquella need to charm her?||
||Keep talking to her after you progress her quest, she has some utterly fascinating r/woosh moments about herself||
His snakes are so fuckin cute
||While I get the point, she literally acknowledges that he did||
||I am so tempted to just attack her right now but I want to see what happens||
Rose in particular don't click this ||The dialogue I was saying Rose could look forward to was Leda literally going 'Huh while I'm not charmed by Miquella I am really distrustful, aren't I?||
||she might have been charmed willingly but the point remains that there needed to be some problem with her non-charmed "I'm your loyal servant" behaviour which required correcting 😅 ||z
||there is also an explanation of why she's like that in a set of armor you can find||
||Her being so insanely distrustful and prone to purging the 'disloyal' is probably why lmao||
||that's not what i mean||
Do it
I am the devil on your shoulder. Do it
Oh I was responding to Jacq, sorry lol
ah i see
||I believe execution is used here in the way of 'to enact something'||
||It was used to perform 'a damnation like no other'- Midra's torture upon the barbs||
||it is very funny though you get a command grab||
Shadow keep: ||through the very skillful tactic of throwing rocks at it, I’ve killed the furnace golem that was blocking the way into the ruins. My reward is apparently an incantation and a mediocre sword that can’t be removed from its sheath. Neat. ||
||Keep the sword||
||What's the incant?||
||it is a strike damage sword with square off which isnt bad||
||Giant golden arc, which is apparently a tool of torture||
NO
do not
It's actually cool, trust
||Rose are you perhaps familiar with the legend of the sword in the stone||
I’m not actually getting rid of it
||divine beast warriors are so annoying||
||Yeah, it’s the one where you can’t get the sword out of the stone so you just use it as a club with the stone attached right?||
||I mean how else would you use it as a weapon until it's unsheathed||
genuinely i always defeat them by just spamming ashes of war, they dont stagger 😭, had to farm a certain version later on
those bastards are tough as hell and their poise/posture is off the charts
Better. You'll see when oyu explore :D
||Elden Ring had no durability so I presumably can’t just santier’s spear it to get a new weapon||
||There's a way to unsheathe it||
||So it’s gotta be something else||
||Look at the description, that gives you most of what you need||
also i said it earlier but
(final boss spoilers)||Shield and poke bleed build is DISGUSTINGLY effective against Radahn||
||grabbing a heavy shield build and a bleed poke weapon took it from being the hardest boss in any souls game i've played to one of the easiest||
||literally just slow walked at him the entire fight with my shield up, and with some stamina management he literally could not hurt me at all||
||...well that narrows it down a bit||
lmao
||That was quick lol||
faith?
I've got it at Cold and it's currently sitting at B scaling in INT, C in DEX, and D in STR and FAI
The fact that it has B scaling at all when infused is really good
so you will always get more out of the flame arts
I'm an INT built though
Guessing I shouldn't use this then
it's a fire knight sword,i don't make the rules 😔
nah you can
but it will always be much better with fire
...granted
alkso when was anyone going to tell me that ||the divine beast head and divine beast helm|| are different things
Wait, does that mean it resets its own frostbite?
||divine beast helm|| is exactly what i've been wanting
if it's a cold infusion, no
unless it does fire damage on normal hits
...
which it does not seem to do
It does
What even is this sword holy shit
it does fire damage on normal hits while cold infused?
This thing is ridiculous
Yeah it does a bit of fire naturally
It has 44 fire damage by default and is infusable yes
The fire knight greatsword… doesn’t do fire damage?
Oh okay good
huh
It deals a very small amount of innate fire damage
i thought it wouldn't
FKGS is just that good
well i guess it's just that good
how much fire damage is needed to reset frostbite?
i don't have an enemy to test out the cold reset on but i guess it could reset it theoretically then?
Is it 'literally any'?
Infuseable weapons with elemental damage keep their base element when they’re infused
I think so?
i'll give it a try
...also, how the fuck do I deal with Gaius
Summon
it does not seem to reset its own cold proc
i got it to proc cold and hitting the enemy did not reset it
Why does he get high mobility, high tankiness, AND high damage, this is just fucking stupid
Unironically, it's way easier when he has to split his focus and not be able to get his charge off due to the pressure
I'll help out of needed
Wish you could knock him off the boar like you can do with night's cavalry
But having three would be even better
||imagine a player's surprise when they do that and realise he's an albinauric||
ok yeah i proc'd cold again
and threw a fireball which reset it
so the sword does not reset its own cold proc immediately
idk if it could do so in a few hits but one or two is not enough
ok hit the enemy around 3-4 times with it and it did not reset the proc
i have to assume it simply can't
...I would appreciate the help, yes
I'm getting sick of beating my head against this wall
Fuckin
i love his weapon art!!!! PSYCHO CRUSHAAAAAAAA
WHY can this dude just fly around in several hundred pounds of metal
...wait he know gravity magic
yes
Nevermind, makes sense now
that's what the purple is
Gimme a second to hop on
||interestingly, Rykard’s serpents seem to colubrids(cobra relatives) while Messmer’s actually seem to be pythons||
Code LANCER
Lmao nice
let me hop on my dlc character
on a different one that i'm making into a storm sorcerer
On the bright side, all this has taught me that this greatsword is fucking nuts
I love this thing
then i will have all of the elements
Oh wait we all have FKGS don't we
no spoilers but the final boss of this DLC might be my new favorite souls boss ever
Oh oop I was offline
Cold Night Freya(Water), Flameseer Freja(Fire), Stonemover Freya(earth) and Windwalker Freja(air)
Sign down, we ready
Not seeing it, where'd you place it?
Become da Avatar
Right behind the gracepoint
I am blind
my sign should be up by the grace
truly, i am the elemental mistress
Stonemover Freya is the funniest cause she is a shield poke
...I hate this goddamn boss
We were going pretty fast though
Absolutely no reason it should have this much mobility
want me to pull out Stonemover Freya and just do shield and poke?
We'll get it eventually
If you want, I'm ambivalent
Gonna try my dual LGS, maybe that'll do it
Cause they deal STUPID damage
i'll try another time with this
oughta use my magic more
since this is a caster build
I'm kind of let down by ||poleblade of the bud, looks real neat but weapon art is just so impractical and prone to missing||
Sign down again
Finally got his ass

...what a terrible boss, I kinda wish I'd cheesed him
Shame, too, cause he's cool as fuck thematically
if you need help on any other boss i'm super down
Of course
Lmao ABANDONED
||Its decent for applying rot to large bosses but yeahhh||
i don't have much to do now that i've beat the absolute tar out of everytihng
Thanks again, couldn't have done it without you
😭
Good that you got it though
||such a long windup for such a wild swing that misses a lot T_T ||
i'm going to help people fight the final boss i think
But I was sitting on my sign for the past 10 minutes lmao
OOOO I NEED THAT INT WEAPON FROM CERULEAN COAST
...man
I wish we knew more about the Alabaster Lords
They seem incredibly cool lore-wise
yeah, all we see of them is hostile enemies but they're clearly more than that
they taught Radahn magic
and that host of fingers summoned two perfect co-operators to win too
ONZE'S LINE OF STARS RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
died 😔
damn we didn't make it
they summoned extra, if it were just me it'd be light work
I just realized something
Is (mid game side quest spoilers) ||St Trinas nectar the first time you respawning is presented as a canon thing||
||how do you mean?||
Claws Of Night are interesting
Like uhhhhhhhhh
||There is an implication from the starting crawl that those who are guided by grace did come back from death at least once, from all the big names being dead there||
||But whenever you kill someone they die permanently so it sort of seems like in-fiction thats a one time deal||
||But you need to kill yourself multiple times with St Trinas Nectar to progress her quest, and thiollier says that drinking the nectar WILL kill you, so those deaths are 'real' in the world||
||i'm unsure, cause Tarnished can canonically revive i'm pretty sure, unless they lose the grace of gold||
||i'd personally say they are though||
||Tarnished of no renown too graceful to die||
||having it writ upon my meagre grave that i was a bad bitch and nobody could truly kill me||
...oh god and ||the harp part from the title theme|| is playing
;3
entirely unrelated to the actual content of the picture but I just realized I should try to get your helmet and see how it looks with my drip
So this is ||Marika's home|| then
aye
||Must've been afflicted with a pandemic or something||
mmmm not so sure about that one wamly
worse.
Murdered?
worse.
what do you know about ||shamans|| wamly
did you ever go to Bonny Village
ah
Right
but yeah uh
||Marika bathed the village of her home in gold, knowing full well that there was no one to heal.||
||Whip bestrewn with rotting, misshapen teeth. Filthy and seething with disease, the teeth are embedded in the whip and dose the victim with deadly poison upon each strike. As the wounds ripen they grow inflamed and ooze pus. The flesh of shamans was said to meld harmoniously with others.||
from the Tooth Whip weapon description
|| What was her prayer? Her wish, her confession? There is no one left to answer, and Marika never returned home again.||
As an aside, we know who/what ||Grandmother|| is
yeah?
||It's the tree that Marika's Braid was left in, and the skeleton inside of it. Grandmother was a shaman who grafted herself into the tree-hollow.||
yeah backhand blades are fun
...finding a lot of messages of "teacher ahead" near a ||tree sentinel|| I just killed, did I fuck up
not to my knowledge
Nope
hey so this dlc is kicking my ass and im so in love with it
Probably just a reference to the first guy
this? (story spoilers)
climbed up some sort of tower town and the boss at the top was insane-looking and beat the shit out of me and it's so nice to get back to what elden ring is all about
cause i get to run around the world and look for a solution to that problem :)
aye, but to be fair I did apparently ||hallucinate the skeleton? I might be crazy||
||Marika has scars in the first trailer. Little, misshapen circles. teethlike|| - Marika spoilies.
||no yeah I done think I've lost my mind, I remembered there being a skellybob or something in there||
||i've seen this mentioned before yeah, that is probably a result of a tooth whip||
Time to ||beat the game with that weapon as a gigantic middle finger||
alright just speedran millicents quest for the insignia
now the run can begin
:(
let me hug her fromsoft
Bonny Village: ||oh hey another Jarburg, this should be fu- oh no||
||So this entire village and the shamans within were all slaughtered to make jar innards then||
||THE JARS WERE PEOPLE||
i have a meme for this
"oh god there is nothing bon magnifique about this place"
||Bonny village is the slaughterers, I think||
||Shaman Village is elsewhere||
I do wonder if light greatsword is a mistranslation from English to Japanese and back to English of longsword
Michael Zaki strikes again
||I mean we already knew that, I just kinda assumed they were using already available corpses||
Also on that note ||Are Shamans and Numens the same thing? Cause Marika is a Numen||
CURSE YOU ZAKI!!!
||the assumption is yes but the shamans could also be a culture||
True
Also explains ||Why the Golden Children do the grafting thing||
||…I have a gesture called “o mother” now. And according to the messages nearby it opens a secret path somewhere||
||since Shamans are specifically noted to have meldable flesh and Grafting came from the Golden Lineage, i have to assume the Numen and Shamans are one and the same||
||They are, yes, Marika is of Numen stock and she is a Shaman||
Its a surprise tool to help us later
CURSE YOU BAYLE
Note, I did not make this comic -- It's taken from:
https://www.reddit.com/r/shittydarksouls/comments/1dpq9gq/cuuuuuurssssssseeeeeeeeee/
THAT'S MY GOAT
THE KING OF SHIT
knife crime
||CURSE YOU BAYLE!||
||Keep an eye out||
||yeah no i cba with final boss||
||WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING||
||god forbid i do anything past walking into the arena||
||shield||
||the Black Knives are Numen relatives of Marika who I'm not entirely clear on their motives, either they were following Marika's bidding to assist Ranni and then turned on her associates for reasons? or Ranni somehow convinced them to kill Godwyn and then they went "wait what" and realized she was playing them? or something else||
||chug a physick? jump at me. summon an ash, jump at me. cast terra magica? cancel anything he does, jump at me||
||he literally does the exact same move every single time you start pretty much||
||god forbid it's 2nd phase and i step away for 2 seconds whiel doing 0 damage netire fight, i'm now the prime target and he does not give a fuck about anything||
||just chug physick outside the boss fog and dodge the drill man move, it has extremely generous dodge timing||
||He did not do drill when i chugged physick outside and went in||
||also you'll want to grab some kind of status effect ie. Bleed, Cold, Rot||
||and that's not my issue||
||Sometimes he opts for Lion Claw instead||
Bestie
I have al the status effects i need
I cannot do anything
Because i cannot press anything but left stick
||yeah i've seen that too, he mostly does the drill||
and dodge
Bayle is the true Griffith of Elden Ring
No he's Mobey Dick
i'll just come back later with 20 blessign and throw moons at him
sounds like a plan i suppose
still rec a ||shield||
||i used the Haligtree Crest Greatshield, if you put holy infusion on it you can literally face tank any of his attacks||
ngl
||blocking hte entire fight instead of running aroudn and learning dodge timings sounds even more boring||
fair
i mostly had it for the ||big ass t-pose explosion he does to start phase 2 usually||
||you can jump it||
||you can literally just eat the hit with a shield and take zero damage||
fair enough
i just cba to do anything but overlevel and just chuck 5k damage moons at things
cause my adhd ass will never learn anythign
¯_(ツ)_/¯
can't say much to help them
i did some Jolly Co-operation for my first win
then i tried some wacky builds and managed to defeat it easily
I'm gonna go beat up Bayle, he's gonna be EZ (coping)
Sigh
||Bayle is a very fun fight, remember to summon Igon :)||
Ok ||Gaius||
Also
If my twin axes aren’t optimized
What should I do
Given that knights spear deals much more damage
could focus on spellcasting
will be hard tho
you need good aggro summon for that i've found
Give up the axes to get heavier armor, spellcast more?
see, i find fun sneaking in stupid lengthy cast times in between boss nonsense
||The lion warriors in the last area are such a crazy pain in the dick its nuts||
||I actively stealthed by the last two||
there is a ||new talisman that increases cast speed even further|| which i have been using
There's always that one move that can be Aeonia'd with only a massive chance to get countersmacked
||i literally just ran past them||
i could NOT be bothered
Place is full of dual-wielding Gundyrs
Bayle kicking my ass, I can hardly get a few hits off
You should start a lifelong quest of vengeance toward him, it's worked out a couple times
That’s not working
While the spells do more damage..
It’s snake twink.
BWUH
Hmmm
Yup
How could I optimize the twin axe damages
Banished to the void
Have fun getting
Bonny Gaol
Messages for the rest of your life
lightning charm and more scaling with its stats
Got him to half!
Somehow. I was barely surviving lmao
Igon and Mimic were the true power, I was just a punching bag
i truly HATE ||the divine beast dudes||
gods they fucking suck
fucking refuse to drop the item i want
What are you tryna get
||Divine Beast Helm||
doing a storm sorceror type build
I’ll trade you one late tonight, I have a spare
the little white beetle and the +arcane charm helped me get their stuff but yeah they are a little annoying to farm
Currently heading to a SF tournament tho
Now enjoy getting the chestpiece
||There are no leggings or gauntlets btw found that out the hard way||
well this is horrifying (quest spoilers)
It was even worse when ||it was actively being used|| tbh
true
Glad to see at least one other person is as fed up with "try rump/try finger" messages as I am (technically cathedral of manus metyr spoilers I guess?)
going for a fai dex build
||so dlc just abruptly ends after that fight?||
You get a cutscene
Oh boy here I go killin' ||magic plants|| again
Same shit, different day, the more things change in the Lands of Shadow the more they’re exactly the same as the Lands Between
Windwalker Freya, divine storm dancer
Cathedral of Manus: ||oh so that’s what the weird finger place completely devoid of anything useful was for, it was so I could help this creepy old man||
Lol
||
||
||ngl I was expecting it to summon a boss given you can summon spirits there||
||you can summon spirits for small camps as well, it's not always boss stuff||
Shadow Keep church district: ||I mean I know which one he wants but I'm not sure which one I want||
spoilers, ||one gives his weapon the other him as a spirit summon||
||occulation and grace respectively||
||That is quite the sword||
Welcome
honestly i don't actually think the dex is helping at all but i'm going for it
Cathedral of Manus: ||this is the edgiest character in the game||
i'm going for a ||Divine Beast Dancing Lion|| build
to be completely fair
That is a very cool set and it passes the cool test
now this npc
||Also, Multilayered Rings of Light.... That spell got you standing like||
new character is now Dripped Out for their punching times
ok i've got it
got the setup
i really need to invest more points into mind huh
ok there we go
...how do I get down here?
Have you tried Rellana's trousers with the warrior set?
i like shoes
fair
oh wait rellana, this is a new game character LOL
Go through the Dragon Pit dungeon
gravel catalyst?
gravel catalyst is best for lightning
50 Fai dex but Messmer is tearing me apart
And the death knight axes
Shouldn’t they scale with lighting
60 vigor.. maybe I need better armor?
Or maybe go back to black knife?
Aren’t they more of a str/fai weapon?
Or does the dex scaling on them boost both the physical and lightning damage?
I did actually mean Rennala lmao
Unsure
They're more Strength scaling than Dex, ending on C Str, D Dex, C Fai
Golden halberd is also strength
I was a huge fan of the golden halberd... as a strength character yeah 😅
there was like, a follow up post that showed that Azula blocked the boomerang first before everything else because it was the closest to her and would have hit her first before everything else, meaning that she would have taken all four elements to the face if she didn't, but i digress
I think one of the elden beast weapons is dex/fai
||Rakshasa|| continues to be one of the bosses of all time
Love insanely long reach in a tiny ass room and high poise
Fucking hell
Honestly if you're at Messmer already, I'd encourage you to try and look for ||The coffin in Shadow Keep, which, while it'll take a bit, eventually leads to a really good Great Spear that has A Faith scaling and D Dex||
Is it the ||Inquisitor Greatspear||
Ooh ok
Ngl
I used a great katana on him and he kept folding
i threw some lightning
unironically just chucking some ||Knights lightning spear|| and moving out of reach
Also got the int sword
Kinda depressing damage
You can do safer hits for the same damage by just using R1
I didnt actually find ||Rakshasa's|| hyper armor all that crazy
I was using Bloody Helice and just clowned him with Dynast's Finesse
I just hit them with Moonveil repeatedly
||Rakshasa's Ash of War thing, they always use that three times then there's a huge opening at the end, I mostly abused that timing||
...man, why did FromSoft have to ||put Senessax in a giant pool of water||
||Senessax only drops two max level stones and nothing else||
i mena thats not bad
||and you can 1000% just run past and skip Senessax entirely||
||Somber Anceint Dragon stones are pretty nice ngl||
||i shouldn't have written lvl 10, you get one somber and one normal||
Oh I know, why I'm fighting him
I need that somber ancient stone
aight
using the dragon hunter blade?\
So fun fact
||I'm like 90% certain Senessax just has special properties on his slams||
||I lure him to the shore every time and he still does the lightning wave on all his attacks||
that's some bullshit
i think its just all coded as water
honestly my friend killed ||Senessax and only managed it with Scarlet rot and waiting, shit sucks||
||He's an Ancient Dragon+ like how the Jagged Peak Drakes are Lesser Dragon+||
But I want my Lusat staff to get to +10
...I feel kinda silly for using Azur's for so long now
the fifth element
min that max
God DAMN the (late game spoilers) ||Leda fight is sick as hell. I was a summon along with another player, Thollier, and Ansbach, vs Freyja, Moore, Hornsent, Dane, and Leda. It was WAR, and also went ridiculously hard||
yeah that does go hard asf
Got him
||Are there ever any more characters in the same space, throughout all of souls? Seemed ridiculous to get that many in one spot when normally the limit is like 4||
...god
Loretta's Mastery FUCKS
Great spell
...tbh I should really be casting more, even just my basic Comet is doing a shitton of damage
smoking that scadu pack
...should probably get the Carian sceptre actually...
Should I?
Or is Lusat's better?
how much int do you have
Prolly worth getting the Carian Regal Scepter then
Lusats is ok but it's 10% damage for 1.5x the spell cost which is generally not worth it imo
It does seem to have higher scaling than the Carian scepter at +10
Your total damage output will not increase with Lusats, only burst
Good 30 points of difference
Because you pay so much extra fp you don't really get as much out of it
Go with what you want
I can just go kill that other death dragon later for one last somber stone
ooh just had an idea, endgame npc item spoiler|| ledas sword, with offhand frost or bleed sounds goood if im understanding how it works right ||
Not my build, not my problem, but i don't think Lusats is worth it personally
I'll go for Carian then
See if I like it, and if not, oh well, there's still one more somber ancient I can get
My int caster was sitting at 70 int 50 fai so i was using Carian Regal Scepter
Fog rift catacombs: ||I think I found where I need to bring the sword||
Perhaps
||WHAT||
:)
||There is another altar by the way||
||I'm sure you can imagine what it does||
||At the Jagged Peak rn||
||More of a str/fai weapon than pure faith one I guess||
||What the FUCK kind of dragon is living here, holy shit dude||
||Motherfucker's gotta be enormous||
:)
:)
You'll see
I love how Tiche does a whole acrobatics routine while I'm getting ||Horseback Orphan's|| cleaver shoved up my ass
SHANK HIM!
XD
Looking forward to it, this is gonna be a SPECTACLE
...oh my god
||THEY ADDED THE OLD DRAGON STONES BACK||
FUCK YEAH
||Thiollier|| is such a pathetic little ass in combat, fuck lol
GNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH
Environmental storytelling at its finest
That video never fails to get me laughing
Gods it's so good
To be entirely fair, ||Thiollier tells you the first time you meet him that he is soggy and pathetic||
||He explicitly mentions that he is physically weak and not that smart||
GNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
God I love Pruld
||oi'm weak as a kitten... and thick as two planks too...||
It's perfect
He’s kinda cute
You're not wrong
fair lol
||now summon Igon||
Thiollier is my little (side quest and final boss spoilers) ||lean addict, he saved the Radahn fight for me||
He's cute in the pathetic wet puppy that would surely die if you didn't feed it way
||Igons summoning sign is to the left of the entrance to the fight||
||summoning Igon is obligatory||
||Also btw what's the sign Thiollier's quest is done? rn he's just writhing on the ground going "A-Ah..."||
||I was able to pass on Trina's words a second time tho||
||He's too cool not to summon and he doesn't make the boss harder||
||You are pretty much good to proceed now||
||Later||
||Finish the DLC 😭||
||You must construct additional pylons(progress)||
||Fugg||
||Thiollier is cool but Igon the Drake Warrior is my scrunkly for the DLC||
||He has the best voice acting in the whole thing imo, genuinely made the Bayle fight 10x cooler||
||He's literally Trashcan Dragon Ahab, what's not to like?||
True
The Corpse Imp Head
Haligtree Soldier and Knight Helms both boost faith
My opinion of Bayle is very quickly waning
Also, the Sacred Crown helm and Greathood
||Yeah, sure, let's make the crippled dragon the size of a house move fast as shit, makes total sense||
The knight helm and greathood give a whole +2 bonus, but the hood comes with a detriment to HP
but also boost intelligence too
Still cool, just not very fun
Oh yeah
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Faith scrolling down on this page will give a list of all equipables that boost faith, but watch out for spoilers.
Elden Ring Faith Stat Guide: Effects, Uses, Related Equipment, Leveling and Tips and Tricks.
||Take a look at Bayles neck if you have the opportunity||
||What, is it a weak spot?||
||Not particularly, that would be his head, but there is something interesting to see||
||If you want an edge up on Bayle and have the build for it, i rec Ancient Dragon-Man's Dragon Hunter Katana||
||It do be hunting dragons||
||ARE THOSE FUCKING PLACIDUSAX'S HEADS||
||WHAT THE FUCK WAS THIS DRAGON ON HOLY SHIT||
||There ya go||
||I did tell you that there was something interesting on Bayles neck :)||
I think I've moidered every remembrance boss in the dlc save for ||Radahn, Midra, Gaius, and Bayle||
I've got ||Radahn, Bayle, Metyr, and Scathutree Avatar||
The count is 10, and I've killed ||Rellana, Metyr, Messmer, Dancing Lion, Putrescent Knight, and the Scadutree Avatar||
||Holy shit, Bayle is one of my favorite boss fights ever||
||Such a cinematic fight||
||Scadutree is easy as fuck, just blast it in the face with Flame Fall Upon Them||
theres one i dont see here with a rememberance ||romina? ||
have you found any notes on how to defeat the golems with certain items?
||Oh she's been sprayed with Raid.||
I have killed every boss and all of them fuck
Which should I go for?
What the fuck ||surprise wickermen??||
Well, except ||technically Senessax but Senessas drops nothing except smithing stones and can fuck off to hell||
||Flame lightning is decent for getting the drop on peeps, its basically a stronger dragonclaw||
||But tbh neither is GREAT||
||please dont tell me I have to kill that thing, I have no idea how||
||Bayle's Tyranny is a giant explosion||
I went for the former but didn't use it lol
because i'm not on an arcane build this time
Well I know what I want
and alternately if you just want the answer, ||throwing a hefty furnace pot into the bowl of the wickerman in front of the door||
Nope
No clue on how to kill em
but also from what I've heard ||Flame Lightning doesn't have yes hyperarmor and is therefore worse dragonmaw :P||
well to kill them in general you have to just ||hit the feet until they get stance broken 3 times sort of leaning then they fall over and you can critical them|| its tedious and obnoxious
||You need 50 arcane to cast the blasted things so my faith build was cursed to never use them||
Yeah I figured out you could do it a lot faster with Pest Threads lmao
however regarding the unte ruin puzzle|| theres a note elsewhere in the game that details a connection between them and hefty furnace pots and thats how you wake that one blocking the ruins up ||
Yeah I tried ||throwing fire pots in there to no avail. I've gathered you need something bigger but hell if I know where to find the recipe||
I was just wandering around and a random one spawned on me. Is killing it part of the puzzle?
Earlier I ||threw a fire pot in, nothing happened. But that was hours ago||
this isnt much of a spoiler, the crafting recipe is in the first ruins you go into in the dlc if i remember correctly. scorched ruins
And now ||I got killed by it, and it's just gone. Disappeared apparently||
||only the one lying in front of the church door is part of the puzzle ||
The scadu of the erdtree
Watching Max fight ||Messmer|| gives me more appreciation for the boss, now that I'm not the one getting tilted.
They're a really cool fight, very stylish
Yeah, and the moves are honestly a lot more rollable than it felt like.
The grab is still horseshit.
God I hate the equip load system
Not its existence, mind, but its implementation
Can't equip shit unless you dump into vigor
Oh dangit you shoulda kept it as quip I was gonna do a funny
It's endurance which governs equip load
It also gives stamina, so it's rarely a bad stat to invest in
Do a funny anyway
Endurance is what I meant, sorry
It's badly imoplemented, yes.
I don;t really mind it in most cases, I tend to lean into end a fair bit in my builds, though
"Quip load? That's how I got kids!"
It should bea static value of you have 100 equip load
WIth clear breakpoints
and light/medium/heavy rolls should all have reasons you'd pick them
Eh, I think the difference between light and medium rolling is already pretty good, I've used both to a decent degree. Never heavy rolled, though
Ayyyyyyyyyyyy
I'd do it so light roll is a short bloodborn dash - good iframes, but doesnt move you very far. And ofc, you have to have low res to use it.
Medium roll would stay the same, maybe get a bit more distance.
HEavy would loose fat roll, become a dash with no iframes at all - b ut with massive damage resistance (possibly based on your armor). I'd go as far as incorpating your shield if you have one and having the character literally lean into it
Agreed, that's my biggest gripe with the system as a whole
I'd still elt stuffl ike Great Jar/Erd Tree faovr incrfease equip load, i'd just make them give flat values and it be a bit more clear
because build options are good, and those would make stuff more complicated
B ut i am also the crazy person who would absoloteuy yeet vigor as a stat from the game, because it's bad.
(I'd just tie max hp to your level, and have it have a reasonble curve and evneutal tialing off)
Because right now all vigor is is "Do you have 60, y/n?"
You absolutely don't need 60 vigour
It's not an interesting choice is the thing
DO you need it? No. Does it massively smooth the game out for 99% of players? Yes.
...oh that's not promising at all
Found the ||Laser Light Sword||
The WHAT
That said the vigour scaling is a bit wack
Like, i think you can argue that the stat system in genral in elden ring is a bit iffy, but it does actually work out pretty decently to mprovide a lot of interesting choices and a very good leveling experience
where you feel progressively more and more powerful, which fits with the storytelling the games are doing
OH FUCK OFF EA
but Vigor is just a boring, boring stat where for 90% of players, the correct choice is "Get your weapon miniums, then level to 60 vigor"
Fuckin minimized my Elden Ring window to ask me to sign in
Wish I hadn't downloaded Titanfall 2, can't get this software off my bloody PC
If it was evened out a bit I think that'd be better, the fact early levels end up giving 20 or so health and the 25-40 point can go up to 47 per level is a bit silly
Just remove vigor entirely, everyone can get hit twice and then they die
the trick is to just get hit the once
this will be good and people will like it especially heavy armor folks
I do like the fantasy of devoting a fair bit to vigour/endurance, getting really beefy through health and armour and then topping that off with some defensive miracles. You do get really tough through that
Twice? What is this, a game for CASUALS? You get hit once and you're out.
See, I like the flavor of 40 vigor in the DLC
Forget that, you just die rightaway upon spawning in! No handholding here!
if a dragon the size of a castle hit me i'd probably also die
This is true
If 90% of the shit in this game hit me I'd be dead
Like a regular soldier with a sword
Or a dragon the size of a building summoning arcane lightning
Even with 40 vigour, some good armour and talismans means very few things will twoshot you (obviously depends on your scadu level)
Well yeah, but if Messmer grabs me it should be felt
Oh yeah, definitely
Maybe one of the least respectful animations in the game
I actually never got grabbed by messmer, I feel like I'm missing out
Only cuz he got those yaoi hands
he truly is a Shaped being
Wow yeah I'm definitely missing out
You're not missing out on probably dying in one attack because that grab is some horseshit.
it truly feels like he waits for you to dodge
He's actually giving you the opportunity to get a hit in before dodging
I've gotten grabbed offscreen while I thought he was focusing on the mimic tear.
I should go try and fight him now that my scadutree level is 11
...unless that's not high enough
What on earth is this Bloodborne lookin headass doing in Elden Ring
I beat him at 8 scadus, really depends how locked in you are to his moveset
his 'waterfowl dance' type flurry deal at least has the decency of a windup and obvious hitboxes
I did also summon hornsent, to be fair
His combo move definitely isn't as bad as waterfowl. That move requires some very careful dodging to avoid
I still didn't have it 100% down when I beat her
I oine shot messmer was just like "huh, that was neat!" >.>
lol
Zombie you're playing some sort of different game with your Messmer/Gaius experiences
Malenia has the bonus of "you can stagger her" whereas that is...a lot harder with Messsmer.
I am also convicne that a chunk of iti s probably ocmputer perfomance related
it seems like you're 800% more durable than most people
and i have a really grunty computer
Only took me 5 attempts on messmer, gaius was a nasty roadblock though
i haven't had performance issues in fights!
the only time i get anything is when Rauh tries to load horizons real fast
or Nearing the Keep
that sudden 'OH GOD, LOADING THE CASTLE'
I have 55 vigor and gleefully equip lots of defence talismans and dont equip stuff like soreseal
And i'm wearing very heavy armor while medium rolling
It really helps you eat hits
Yeah, soreseals and the scorpion charm talismans do a lot to make you more fragile
technically only my armor makes me take more damage now
and that might just be poorly translated
If it's Rakasha? It does
but it's like 10% if you wear the entire set.
And the armor itself is good medium armor
i'm at 6% thens
Same here, lol
They need to give ||Midra|| more poise, it's sad what bonks can do to him
That said, claw weapons probably have some of the lowest poise damage in the game
I'm loving how much poise clocking someone with the Dryleaf R2 seems to do
might just be you can get a charge attack in rq
I'm glad peeps are likin the 'unarmed' options in this
I'm still having trouble with them but the Beast Claws feel pretty nice with Raging Beast
I can't believe it's more shadow keep spoilers! ||Oh that is evil, upside-down bat statues in the same area where bats are hanging from the rafters||
That part was funny in how trollish they were
Oh yeah that area's fun for that
Really channeled their inner gremlins for that
That place really made me appreciate Disc of Light
few too many faith spells make you take the Big Steppy
...channeled it a little too hard with that fire knight that Fus Roh Dah-s you, but aside from that
they were doing this shit the ENTIRE game
my new dlc run i'm doing beast claws... and chicken wing
my character contiunes multidues.
tfw I used vanilla weapons almost the entire dlc :v
Disc of Light is unironically one of the best spells in the game, it does good damage for basically no fp and it pretty frequently hits twice
Both occult, though i'm pretty sure that Beast Claws are better with like str or quality and then just using bloodflame blade on them
Personally I have trouble with really short ranged weapons, as well as ones with low stagger, so the fist/claw/martial arts/beast claw super complex is troublesome
Though the latter two have Arts that make up for that
And it's got relaly fast range
and the erdtree shield WA
three hit them hoes
Part of the problem they have is they want to huits lots, and this is not a game that encoruages hit lots
What is "chicken wing"
||...speaking of evil||
Yeah, thats another issue, particularly with the beast claws
They LOOK like really fast weapons but they PLAY like greatswords
Because you are locked into a full ass three hit combo once you hit R1
Eh, they're so fast that between boss attack combos, I could often get 2-3 light hits in. Paired with the double hitting nature of them, that stacks up rotten winged sword really fast
They even swing fast enough to hit bosses between hits with certain moves. They also build up status really quickly
Also the backstep attack is so good
I managed to poison the final boss 5 times with venemous fang where I struggled to do so even once with my serpentbone blade
They have tons of mobility
the big blood fiends can drop the giant arm clubs they have which look like sauced wings an arc strenght weapon with an AOE heavy attack
Oh those things
