walls and gates are basically the only thing in the 40 tier of demo outside of factories(gets oneshot by both the c4 and hammer through damage alone) and bile titan holes(which is a whole other problem for c4)

I absolutely would run around with the sledgehammer as my primary just to bonk the shit out of everything that comes my way
so, a bit more than the recoilless in exchange for having to get in melee range and breaking your arm
Sledge replacing primary seems in line with the other heavy primary the Eruptor which has many trade offs for what it does. And being melee and breaking arms is a big trade off
and it doesn't use up your backpack slot
300 melee damage is enough to headshot an alpha commander

7 charges of anti-tank is a lot, depending on how the reload is

I typically don't like micro transactions on principle- but the value proposition for this game is so good and the business model isn't predatory. So I only feel a little bad for splurging.

Grand Errant SC grinding isn't bad at all - IF you have something else to occupy your attention. Talking about stuff with a friend, listening to a video or audiobook, etc. It's just easy time-passing.
I think it's nice for those without income, they have an option even if it's trading time for currency. Warframe was great for plat trading and how there was quite a lot of things you grind to earn plat
But yea when you have money but less free time buying a war bond is usually the way to go

But also buying warbonds doesn't put you on a level that SC grinders can't reach
Unlike many games with real bad mtx where a paying player just has access to things that a f2p player can't get it all no much how much they play
I'm privileged with having played since launch, so I've got everything and it's only 1000 SC at any given time. 700 SC if I haven't bought anything from the store rotation since each warbond refunds 300 SC.
I haven't played consistently since launch but I definitely spread out my warbonds early on
If you have a lot of warbonds you want to get, try to only go warbond -> warbond with your SC since the 300 refund makes it easier to keep returning to 1000

It's technically ultimatum with supply pack but it doesn't synergize well with eruptor.

It will let you know if a small guy is close to you. And if they really close it has a neat warning system called friendly fire
There's definitely some predatory aspects (namely the rotating Super Store), and the fact that pretty much all the most powerful weapons are locked behind premium war bonds isn't great, but it's definitely not as bad as a lot of microtransaction-based business models

The biggest barrier to getting my last 3 upgrades, and I definitely don't look for them. I usually stop by minor PoI to get supplies and pop lockers and crashed pods for SC/medals
I am out of medals for the stealth warbonds and need to unlock entirety of 2nd and 3rd tier and will be absolutely medal broke for siege breakers
I never feel FOMO on the superstore because I know everything will either rotate back in soon or go to the permanently available tabs. I agree there's some warbond power creep, but it's been decently contained. Probably the worst is sidearms and grenades IMO.

Dynamite is kinda neat but has now been surpassed by the C4 pack in most use cases
it is pretty much a handheld, precise cluster in terms of effectivenesss
C4 pack is a stratagem
I'd hope a stratagem that uses a backpack and support weapon slot is stronger than grenade
I think dynamite has more demo force but when it comes to
- blowing up fabricators
- blowing up enemies
C4 is more usable and plentiful. You pay for that with it taking both weapon + backpack slot.
What advantages does it have over dynamite now
Dynamite I like for it's ability to clear a very wide area of most med and smaller enemies
Actually going off when you want it to since it's triggered by you instead of hoping enemies are in the right area as the timer goes off

Also the area wide enough even if I'm off they'll be caught in it
Interesting what makes it good for commando mission
7x c4 bricks to start, gets resupplied with weapon ammo instead of grenade boxes. Easier to put one on every fabricator without alerting anything and then fully leaving the area before detonation
No bouncing, sticks where it lands so you can precision throw it 50m

I don't think comparing c4 to dynamite is apt, different slots and you can run both so it's not a competition
Whereas pineapple and dynamite is mutually exclusive cause both throwable
Heavy pen and demo 40 is why I like dynamite quite a bit
The comparison to make is opportunity cost cuz while dynamite is neat, c4 does what i use it for better which allows me to use grenades that do other things (gas is my favorites)
Talking about gas vs dynamite seems more apt

And if I have another gas in my loadout like gas strike or gas dog
I also do lean towards using grenades to clear objectives easily and delete patrols. Dynamite kills most spawner from the outside without needing to land it in a vent or hole.
Anyway long story short c4 is good and you can get a lot of explosions cuz a resupply fully refills the pack each time. 31 bricks out of 4 resupplies

But it's nice if I need to kill a fab I don't have LoS
You'd have to be goated to hit the vent from outside a bot camp that's behind a wall
for that I've got the GOAT
Dynamite vague area is good enough for the fab kill
You can slap a brick onto a hulk and it goes THUNK and the hulk turns around like "what was that" and then BOOM
Strafe is in my loadout on every front on nearly every loadout
C4 seems great, at I don't need to reload and can throw back to back? Peak

Kills like every heavy in one run except like war striders
Kills illuminate ships or breaks their shields ez, deals with most bugs and safe to throw super close when you're surrounded

Throw 7 bricks, go get weapon ammo from somewhere, throw more bricks. Eventually you switch to detonate mode and click, then every fabricator on the map explodes at once

I'm becoming very fond of stealth loadouts for bots tbh
Getting into fights with them can turn into a serious prolonged slugfest, I like being able to get in and out + being rewarded for good precision
Stealth is the opposite of what I enjoy I am someone who likes danger
I skirmish through enemy backlines while being fired upon at all angles while everyone is cautiously engaging the enemy and pushing forward a Frontline. By the time they get to the objective entrance I might have already done it and moving to the next one
I usually am top in movement by like 2km with light medic and warp pack
Even on defense missions where there's not much places to run
Speaking of "c4 allows me to use other grenades", I've been running throwing knives lol

I'm methodical and fast
Knives rock once you nail the aiming quirk and know how alertness works
If you don't carefully consider and be aware with light armor surrounded by enemies you're going to die instantly
Eruptor I find hard to quit cause the bolt action between shots gives me time to get a get a glance of my surroundings in every direction
And that short time between shots I got to assess my surroundings and pick my next shot carefully, it's a fun fast mental exercise for my ADHD brain
Blitzer I enjoy a lot for similar reasons
It gets silly how quiet they can be
You can pelt something with knives and they won't notice
Eg guy who killed factory strider with knives a long ways back
They make zero noise if you miss and basically nothing if they hit, and they do so much damage. Two knives to the body kills a berserker
Maybe this has changed with the stealth updates but even if you do hit they take a very long time to actually find you, more than enough to kill with more knives
The problem being an RR has 6, a quasar has infinite, and you need to go into melee to use it. If it wasn't a stratagem weapon I'd fuck with it but it's a hard miss for me in its current version

Melee range is a huge downside, but the RR takes a backpack and has stationary reload and Quasar can't handle multiple targets at all - every repeatable AT has huge downsides.
Won't know how usable it is until it's out, of course, and the whole breaking arms thing might well push me away from it, but I don't think it's worth dismissing so early
I forget the system but there's a whole bot planet that is only commando missions
It's just the most populated bot area usually or 2nd most
I'll make a mild notation that if it breaks arms like the variable's total mode as stated, it's very inconsistent and can be relieved via limb health passives or just going prone
(though depending on swing angles prone may not be an option, won't know for now though)

Big variable fan here, so i know a lot of Funky Bits
it was my go-to primary if i wanted to use a not-shotgun since it was, at the time, a great stand-in for a minigun
but yeah reinforced epaulettes and servo assisted limbs should alleviate the problem, epaulettes being the more "desirable" as it'll still increase melee damage at the cost of being chance based

honestly the only thing it has against it for me is that it's competing with the maxigun since i'm pactbound to using it

I am a melee person but also melee has to feel good which for me often includes something more complex than light attack and heavy attack.
Yes which is why I don't do melee in HD2, a lot of the focus was put on the guns
I wouldn't mind if it became more prevelant though
I'm not particularly holding my breath, melee diving is more for fun than a legitimate playstyle

Hammer with supply pack to have infinite blast swings and to stim up your shattered limbs.

PEAK physique is more damage but 300 is already quite a bit for most enemies.
And it also doesn't help against the limb damage
I'm assuming the explosive damage doesn't get modified
But yeah, least for me, the way i'm approaching the hammer is "standard melee most of the time, sometimes a warhead on a stick"
Would be insane if it was, but no unlikely as it is its own damage type

Hate long charge up, I don't use eats cause of that animation to prepare it when you bring it out takes time
Commando can be quick drawn hip fired if needed
Laser designation stays on where it was last even if you unequip it so in a pinch swap to other weapons to deal with a threat then quick draw hip fire the commando and rockets will track towards that location
i know there are gonna be some people who are gonna be very Unpleasant about the fact you can move and shoot the GMG but not the maxigun
I would have preferred if maxi gun you could move while firing but just do so slowly

Launch weeks with throw armor made me understand gravity and throwing something really far really accurately
Nothing felt better than dive throwing a grenade across the man into a fab vent
I think i'd enjoy the C4 but i wanna stock medals up for the next warbond
I also want to try lure mines to see how well it distracts enemies already aggro'd on you

I used to but the solo silo basically did exactly what i used it for outside of easy OBJ popping
so now i bring my silo everywhere
I center my builds around taking out objectives fast and more importantly with as few reinforcements as possible
Enemies respawn, objectives don't is my mindset
Don't need to kill all the enemies I face, just what I need to blow something up
I take mostly stuff for easy objective popping
I'm very big on being a loud, lumbering, tank of mass destruction since the friends i play with tend to play lighter
Eruptor, Dynamite (soon to be either lure or shield nade), warp pack to teleport past walls and through hills onto the encampment backlknes, strafing run just goated and can kill many fabs/nests, gas strike with demo force 50 is as good as 500kg but super short CD and useful against every patrol

My friends are always great distractions as they struggle with concepts like "walking 20 meters to the right around the bug breach" which makes it very easy to flank heavy concentrations of enemies and clear out the base behind them
Same with smoke strike, both it and gas use the same projectile as ops basically

well i still murder the most, i have some screenshots of post mission screens where i'm at 800+ kills while everyone else sits around 300
i just so happen to shoot people in the back a lot
I almost Stims used cause light medic gang, distance moved cause again light medic gang but also stim booster, stratagems used cause I love spamming low CD stratagems, and not always lowest deaths but often 2nd place
If there was a stat for like spawners destroyed, objectives destroyed, and terminals hacked I would be certain I'd be top in that

My loadout for most defense missions is like ultimatum, strafing run, gas strike, orbital gatling, laser
I am seeing red and it's beautiful
The machinegun turret might as well be hard locked in my stratagems
Or for bots AT encampment and entries
AT encampment, shield gen, mortar sentry, rocket sentry
I love the mortar sentry for reasons that most people don't pick it for
much like the machinegun turret, it's an amazing distraction

Flame sentry I like a lot on city maps
Throw them in an alleyway and they got you back
Enemy has to turn the corner to a flaming distance
The fact they explode when destroyed is really nice when you just toss them out to distract instead of as a defensive position
And you can be a lot more lassez-faire with positioning them since they're a lot less of a friendly fire hazard

Portable hellbomb doesn't care about if you're ragdolled once it's prime it goes off

Get democratic and win the coin flip for both
25% of the time it works every time
It works 100% of the time it works

My favorite rapid fire primary is probably the double edged sickle with a full build for it.
Especially if you run supply pack for plentiful Stims, it goes pretty ham if you put heal it during a stim.

depends on my engagements - i usually do, yeah, but i turn it to max RPM for large or dangerous targets like fleshmobs or harvesters

It's definitely usable without if you go prone and/or use it more as a precision weapon

yeah you just need to make sure you're prone or tap fire it
The fact that the cloud is very visible and takes quite a while to kill makes them a lot safer to be around
The mines themselves also stand out way more

Standard mines only have small red spokes sticking out, gas mines have a large green core
Combined with Orbital, that's some near constant cloud uptime
I'd actually consider the Gas Dog if you have it

I use the wasp launcher so that doesn't work for you here but otherwise I use the bltizer to keep em still for a sec as I switch n dump into them with the talon
It only takes 7 seconds of exposure to kill the heaviest voteless, and the gas keeps them well confused
Wasp was my go-to for illuminate but at some point I started getting really inconsistent lock-ons

There's a lot of really good QoL stuff in this update, the fire mode regularization in particular feels like it's been a long time coming. I don't really know why they would nerf vehicle strats in the same patch they introduced the tank though, with the enemy durable damage increases. Were mechs and FRVs really over performing?
It might be specifically to differentiate the old and new GLs more, but it yeah it might also just be that both got absolutely juiced

So tank has Driver, Gunner and two hatch slots that people can pop up and use weapons from freely
quick trip report on initial warbond stuff
hammer - surprisingly effective, they seem to have gone back on the recoil damage from hitting stuff or it's super minor, i didn't notice it
trident - 360 damage, light pen, very quick rate of fire; you can piss out DPS very quickly, overheats in about ~9 shots of continuous fire on a standard planet
tank - 120mm has 1 shell loaded, 30 reserve, also has a co-axial HMG with 2000 rounds of ammo and no reload; 120mm has a reload of around 4.5 seconds but is extremely powerful at least from what the small demo shows, it one shots a tank from the front
