its basically engine dependent, as different engines structure the game resources differently
Steam can only download whole files for an update and unpack, change and insert changes. So if the engine packages a lot of files into a single bundle, thats a lot of unpacking necessary for any changes.
I know payday 2 had a really fucked up way of updating but iunno how much that compares to this

The payday 2 method decreases download size because you're only sending diffs instead of full files
It has other problems but there are legitimate reasons to do it that way
the upside: works better on slow internet
the downside: takes a shit ton of time
it needs to modify specific offsets of preexisting files rather than replacing the entire thing
which is performance intensive
as it has to check itself a lot to not write to the wrong place
Payday 2 also compresses a lot of data which reduces disk usage but does mean that updates require decompression, patching, then recompressing
iirc steam does mostly differential updates now as well since it reduces server load
also theoretically there's increased data writing which could be an issue for SSDs but nowadays SSD write endurance is like...150 GB/day for 10 years or something for a 1 TB SSD
Yeah my 980 is specced for 600 TB write endurance so 600000 GB/3650 days = 164 GB/day

heads up, eagle airstrikes have a tendency to be unpredictable as Eagle 1 tries to fly between the buildings. This may (often) cause the strike to be angled in dangerous ways (e.g. you thought the cluster strike was going to be perpendicular but it was 40 degrees rotated)

Bunkers are more common, but they seem to only have samples in em.
Otherwise you can find the usual seaf crash pods that have sc in them.
There's a lot of pois that just have ammo, weapons & supplies
I have seen Autocannons, eats and mgs all in the city so far
The pods seem to very frequently be clustered with objectives and side objectives too
yhea city maps have that problem, barely any caches, caches being what you can get medals and SC

2 more levels till i can full choke my spray and pray

it was exhilarating

Turns out that Super Earth Armed Forces saved a lot of money purchasing a lot of grenades instead of ammo.
They took āmore bang for your buckā too literally.
I personally hope we get to have a stratagem and customize a SEAF Squad on the Super Destroyer.
Like the area where we select the patterns for our mechs and FRVs, we can use that space as a place to customize our personal SEAF trooper squad.
After this Major Order of course.
For as stupid as Super Earth is as a regime and how funny the satire is, I do get the feeling of being a cool elite soldier when I run into SEAF squads and Iām using a machine gun like itās a primary weapon ripping apart a horse of voteless.
And I think that balancing act is something Helldivers has always done well, but itās way more apparent now. This has been fantastic.

The SEAF soldiers seeing my friends and I roll up were probably having a similar experience as guardsmen seeing the Astartes on the scene for the first time right up until my friend got ragdolled and landed in an exposed sewer trench and then I fell in too because I didnāt know it was an instant death pit and tried to retrieve her samples.
Then again, a lot of guardsmen had the experience of seeing an Astartes in the flesh for the first time be me stopping to stare at a parked Leman Russ and talking to my friends about how cool it was when I was playing Space Marine 2.

its just good overall because it's an infinite ammo med pen senator
Only things it can't do anything against are tanks/turrets (unless you shoot the vents at the back) and hulks unless you feel like aiming for the eyelet

and then it tends to routinely spike past 100k just on weekends
So, Orbital Gattling Barragei s just real good in the cities. Short cooldown means you can spam it constalty, which means your shop is basically always at a good angle

(can even fuck up Levithans which is v. funny)
The Wasp is so good into Illuminate.
Very, especially in these long open streets and parks. 1 missile kills any overseers (flying ones are evasive sometimes), 4 missiles kill a fleshmob (3 + some bullets does it too), 3 missiles kill a stingray.
If you have nothing better to do, you can volley missiles at a Leviathan and chip away at it (the single-shot missiles have AP 6)

They're a single hit box that's 70% durable
and only have 800 hp.
Railgun at 99.99% charge is doing 1500 normal, 562.5 durable damage damage
So a perfect charge shot is doing 450 + 393.75 damage = 843.75 damage
so if you can hold your shot till about 95% or more charge, you should be able to one hit kill it!

sc farming you want diff 1: smaller maps about the same number of poi. Go for grand errant atm, which is here, has full maps with minimal terrain interrupts other than on brood commander missions but thats just how that mission works
eagleopolis has fallen
super earth just sucks for any kind of farming
half the time it seems to spawn <10 rare samples even on higher difficulties
and I've seen mid-difficulty maps with a SINGLE PoI (after lidar revealed all of them)
there's a ton of common sample spawn points but seemingly not enough rare sample spawn points, so the majority of the time all the rare samples on the map are on the cognitive disruptor (which is the only map tactical objective and thus guaranteed to spawn)
the PoI's themselves usually also don't have loot
the only saving grace is that a fair few of the objectives have drop caches built into their tiles, but the overall amount is usually still lower than other maps

from what I've been told (and seen), the moon tile set is one of the best for sc/medal farming due to not having much blocking terrain and no trees so high visibility
bring someone else who's desperate for super credits and you can clear the maps in <8m and still extract (teaming up to open bunkers)
there will overall be less PoI's but the travel time reduction should make up for it, and less nest map obstacles to block them
and as consolation, remember it's rng
some maps you'll get a ton of bunkers with multiple sc in them each, some maps you'll just get containers and drop caches that have slips
Seems there's an exploit to bring multiple of the same stratagem at once, since I just saw someone with 3x Orbital Gas

okay I know the last two times I was in here I was complaining about the Leviathan and I'm sorry to say that I'm gonna be doing it again, really hope this isn't getting too annoying but I wanna get this off my chest
I've gotten better at dodging these things, my teams aren't getting wiped by them as much, I know their weakspots...a little bit better, I still absolutely despise fighting them and I don't like how they're designed from a gameplay standpoint (and I also want to throw my hat into the ring on how I'd like them to be changed)
My big problem with the Leviathan is that in it's current state it's fundamentally an enemy you are discouraged from engaging with, and to me that makes it extremely annoying and unfun to deal with. You need to spend a lot of antitank resources to kill it (something I really really was hoping they'd never change about the Illuminate front and I'm still getting over the shock of that), they can just keep spawning after you kill them, and the devs have even said they want this thing to be something you treat more like an environmental problem than an enemy. I don't really like this approach for an enemy that looks this good both when it's shooting you and when you're shooting it down. I don't like that the only "counterplay" I have to it is just hitting the deck because this fucking thing decides it wants to exist in the airspace. I hate, hate hate that I feel like I have to be couched into bringing antitank on a front again just to deal with this one, singular, annoying flying fuck. I think there's a solution that can address this problem without defanging the enemy entirely, and it's tying it to an objective like Stalker Nests. Maybe some kind of heavy SAM site that has a bunch of nasty illuminate fortifications near it, or an illuminate equivalent of a Gunship Fabricator or Air Control Tower that could stop them from spawning so damn much. I just want better counterplay to them, I want to be able to feel like I'm struggling against it and not just being helplessly tossed around by this thing's existence. Maybe it is just a skill issue and I'm a big dumb idiot but idk, I hope someone here can sympathize because I really liked fighting squids before these things were around and now I'm just kinda tired of them.

Orbital gattling will also rip them up if you can get the barrage to hit them
Perfectly is basically having eagle 1 lay all her shots into it. So you need it low and coming at you (like how you shoot down stingrays with it)
But even clipping one tends to rip a wing off, revealing the AP4 zone
If an Eagle Strafe runs down the entire back of a Leviathan it can get a kill. Orbital Gatling similar but hard to use since it's delayed and stationary.
The best-case counter-Leviathan tactic I've been using is team loading a Recoilless Rifle so the shooter can quickly dump the entire backpack into it. Aim for the circles on the belly (destroy all 3 with five rockets and then hit a sixth rocket). Realistically the best practice is to just duck into an alleyway where it can't see you and pretend it doesn't exist (because it's not a threat to you). If not that, hugging close to a building can make it harder to be hit by its chin guns.
Team-loading a Spear also works but I think needs extra ammo. In either case the solution is to not fight them solo and have a buddy help you dump 5-8 rounds into it in five seconds, then you both go about your day.

Also the Emancipator's autocannons and Patriot's rockets can shoot it down. The problem with that though is the Leviathan's cannons are like the Automaton turrets, they one shot the mechs.

Yeah, if you have a buddy. Have them bring a good weapon you both like and want to use, get Eruptor in your loadout. Kill your ally take their weapon and you'll still get the Eruptor EXP since that is your loadout.

30k in one run sounds high but i think is possible depending on difficulty, i wouldnt worry about it it caps out at 50k and most of the time you'll probably be at or near cap

the armor sets have good passives (increased ammo cap across the board + faster primary reload) and the anti-tank emplacement is pretty strong if you have a lot of heavy enemies and long sightlines

the stun spear is neat but of marginal usefulness imo. and the directional shield backpack i've never used and never seen anyone else use but could be useful in bot cities
I didn't put a lot of thought into this so handful of salt, etc etc
- get all the stuff from Helldivers Mobilize (the free one), particularly weapons, armors, and boosters
- Democratic Detonation: weapons are all very powerful tools in any kit (crossbow my beloved)
- Cutting Edge: Sickle, Plasma Punisher, Blitzer are excellent primaries, Dagger is excellent secondary, STUN GRENADES
- Urban Legends: Siege Ready armor is excellent passive, stun lance is fun, also gets AT Emplacement (dunks on bots)
- Borderline Justice: Deadeye and Talon are amazing weapons, dynamite is pretty good but I don't use it
- Chemical Agents: GAS GRENADES (AMAZING), dogbreath is kinda neat but honestly gas grenades are hard carrying here
- Truth Enforcers: Halt shotgun is very flexible tool (stun is amazing), Reprimand has gotten a lot better with attachments
- Polar Patriots: Three excellent primaries (Purifier dunks on all bots and squids) and a desert eagle secondary, IMPACT INCENDIARY for if the regular incendiary's fuze is too long for you
- Steeled Veterans: An assortment of okay stuff but kinda whelming these days IMO, Senator pistol has HEAVY PENETRATION
- Freedom's Flame: Assortment of fire-based guns, cookout does crazy work vs bugs, armor is extremely comfy if you're regularly playing around fire (or fighting the fire bots)
- Viper Commandos: Liberator Carbine is supposedly very good with the new attachments, includes the EXPERIMENTAL STIM booster which is one of the 4 core "good boosters"
- Servants of Freedom: Double Edge Sickle is kinda neat but sort of a gimmick, Ultimatum is a cool secondary tool, nuke backpack is entertaining if nothing else
- Masters of Ceremony: some people enjoy the R2 Amendment, IMO the only reason to take this warbond is for the cool sword (a gimmick itself) and the drip

ultimately, everything can work in the right circumstances (some weapons just fundamentally don't work great vs certain enemies, like plasma rifles vs bugs) but it comes down to what you enjoy using
at the end of the day you can fall back on the trusty Liberator and realize that it never stops being one of the best does-everything-well guns in the game, it's like the Everest of Helldivers
I will preach the amazing value of having either Stun Grenades or Gas Grenades (Cutting Edge, Chemical Agents) because both of them buy you time to deal with the situation. Stuns even work on bigger enemies like chargers/hulks/fleshmobs, while gas trivializes dealing with masses of lighter enemies and confuses medium ones
Just have to come to terms with stuns not being able to kill spawners so gotta have a backup option or a friend
I'd put Urban Legends as high as Detonation tbh, the armor is just so fucking good and versatile
Yeah, there's lots of options for destroying outposts these days though (Orbital Precision/Gatling/120/380/Gas, Eagle Strafe/Airstrike/500kg, assorted explosive weapons)
Siege Ready IS really good as a passive, I put it below DD since DD's weapons are so ridiculously impactful since 4/5 of the unlockable weapons are "destroy heavy enemies/outposts" which frees you up to do other things
even if you just bring a grenade pistol that means you don't need to use stratagems to destroy bug nests

and I just focus on fighting everything that isn't Harvester or Leviathan. The current free Stalwart replaced sterilizer with gas dog, and HMG Emplacement is for when I expect to carry more on clearing *lots* of stuff actively and quickly
