What are the strongest primaries vs berserkers?
Right now I have:
Punisher / Breaker / Breaker Incendiary / Punisher Plasma / Dominator / Eruptor
I feel like those are all actually very good vs them
i'm kind of on the fence about the scorcher

I think the scorcher lacks the raw damage to be strongest

the ammo issues are bad too

I was kind of surprised when I sat down and wrote it out how many guns are excellent vs devastators and heavy devs
mostly just because of how easy it is to learn to headshot them, since almost every gun aims sort of the same
Dealing with heavy devs poorly is a case where (most of) the guns are not the limiting factor I think
I only have scythe, diligence, breaker incendiary, and lib conc as "Moderate" or "Poor" vs devastators
and i'm honestly not sure if those ARE all bad. besides lib conc

Diligence can work too for head shots
It takes a relatively long time to kill but the weird roman candle pellets can overpen and hit multiple zerkers in a line

The hard 30 meter range cap bites though
But it sufficiently stagger locks stuff until it dies for me
I can see it working well with a team mate
someone who can take advantage of the stagger
alone, it's rough
it tends to 1 shot little bots and staggers groups of bigger ones
and has such little "firing slowdown" that I can just keep moving
I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it shooting faster ofc
But I feel fine using it on maps with shorter engagement ranges
I prefer it vs bugs
Though its annoying habit of not shooting hunters at melee range kind of sucks
the arc thrower has the same issue too

Regarding the CE-27 Ground Breaker armor, there was a slight mixup that resulted in it going live with the Servo-Assisted instead of the Engineering Kit passive. This should be changed back in an upcoming hotfix.

Explosive Crossbow into bots is pretty decent.
Naturally it's not very good vs devastator armor or any vehicles, but it does well at clearing Raiders, Striders, and even Berserkers.

once saw a gunship base with two towers, but one of them wasn't actually real. it never spawned gunships and any rounds shot at it would phase through instead of bouncing off

Continued experimentation, explosive crossbow is super good and quite easy to get value from it. Naturally does not handle any degree of armor particularly well (though in some cases you can play angles for it) but it's an extremely easy to use chaff clearer. Raiders, Striders, Scavengers, Hunters. If you're accurate and prepared, two direct hits will kill a Stalker even.
I tried the crossbow and it just felt like a harder to use eruptor
Does it really have a wider area? It felt like it wasn't exploding much at all. Maybe I just hit armor?
Theyâre both fairly large so itâs hard for me to be sure but I think so
Just based on the number of unexpected moments when I shot once and got 5-7 skulls
its a tribes ascend weapon
and it does 420 damage on direct hit so can be used to squarsh the fat sacks of bugs

Specially hurts when the team either doesn't engage on them or didn't bring anything to help with them

The fourth upgrade is a 50% increase to the burning damage from eagle napalm, flamethrower and incendiary mines.

Like FT dot damage is already very high when it's working, now chargers just liquify
Yeah back when it was reliable I'd use it to make firebreaks to good effect
But I don't like rolling the dice on if a weapon works properly this network so I'm mostly just avoiding fire stuff until they fix it

that's happened to me a good bunch too, hulk flamers just instakilling me
my experience with hulk flamers is also that like 90% of the time touching any part of the flame is instant death
But if I'm too close it whacks me good and I instantly die
Maybe hulks sometimes kill me faster than pre nerf spewers
very rarely I get clipped and set on fire and can jump away or take a half second to die
but it's usually just insta delete
I still want a tradeoff passive armor thats like -1 stim but "autoinjects" stims without animation so you can stim while shooting or ragdolled
I've found that it kills if I'm prone, too far away, in the process of diving, or in any animation that delays my ability to stim. However, if I'm close to the edge of the fire (but NOT near the end of its range), very close to the hulk, or just ending a dive, it does very little damage (but the fire DoT does a hell of a lot and kills in about half a second anyway) and I can stim and live.

The big ones for me have been being prone or diving, though. Diving on reflex is very bad with flame hulks. I don't know if it's because they're more likely to hit more hurtboxes when you're lying down or if I'm imagining the instant death since diving stops me from stimming immediately and leads to split-second death anyway, but I've noticed those two are killers.

yeah i think it's the trajectory of the bounce that carries the grenade to its butt to be boomed
Anyone got tips for dealing with hulks, especially bruisers? I hate flame hulks but at least a lot of the time I can run away from them long enough for a teammate to notice I'm in trouble and railcannon them. Bruisers though, they always manage to just ragdoll me every time I try and take a stance to fire them. Also, tips/suggestions for hulk killing weapons would be helpful, as nothing I've tried feels consistent or flexible enough for them. Railcannon helps, but the cooldown and only being able to hit one at a time is less helpful on higher diffs (or when it decides to pick a random strider instead).
you either have to be quick about it or have someone else run around while you shoot its weakpoints. autocannon and anti-materiel rifle both twoshot it to the eye, any of the dedicated anti-tank weapons (expendable, recoilless, quasar) can do it in one
stun grenades are a very good option for them, gives them pause long enough to double tap them and the new explosive weapons make this a more viable option since you preserve building destruction capability
i run stun grenades regularly to bots since they help deal with the two biggest problems on that front for me, hulks and special devastators
my current favorite anti-tank weapon is the spear, from a mix of building kill convenience (when it works) and fire and forget vs. heavies
the downside is it's inconsistent vs. hulks, sometimes it impacts onto the armor and needs 2 shots
then you're just kinda screwed
I've tried the AC but I think I'm skill issue filtered by it
Can't seem to land on the eyeslit consistently
I prefer eats, recoiless, or quasar cannon personally
i find shooting their arms off easier with AC, tho it does take significantly more shots
you gotta either use the electric weapons to stun them so you can lock them down, hit them in the eye or the back with either an explosive or heavy armour penatrating weapon (also mini stuns them to buy time to aim again) or run/be far away then when safe target their arms with medium armour penetrating weapons
blowing of the flame hulks flame arm is so much better
grenade between the legs will hit both arms and their back weakspot
four of the extra damage grenades can kill a hulk with a little luck
How many? I feel like getting rid of the missile launcher/the flamethrower will help me a lot
oh the laser cannon 98 (NOT the quasar) is real good at stripping arms too
just aim and hold at the arm and its off in a couple seconds
quasar is a pain with having to charge and aim
oh shit, THAT'S where you gotta hit them??? i've been chucking my impacts at their faces for too long
impacts at faces will work! but gotta still hit around the eye area to do max damage
and impacts are lower damage smaller aoe as downside for the explode on impact upside
its not JUST the red slit either, the small "Lip" around it is close enough
about half the size of the bot factory roof vent
maybe smaller but that feels about right for whatever thats worth
the big aoe high explosive grenades will hit from like, anywhere around the feet
what is stettler blade anyway? i see people yelling about it but never gameplay or a trailer or even the people who like it reccomending people play it

There is a bug RN of some explosives sucking you towards the blast instead of sending you away
i had already been blasting it with grenades
I posted that after my grenade pistol pulled me off a rock I was standing on
i find hitting a hulk in the eye with a quasar is unreliable. sometimes it'll down them in one shot if you get the perfect shot, sometimes it feels like it can miss by an inch and the hulk won't die. very finnicky
i've had the most success aiming slightly above the eye, though
exosuit kinda raggedy for bots đ

If you are insane, you can use my technique
I think it can but you should plan for 2
Jump pack at them, sprint behind them and circle strafe while blasting them with a Punisher

sometimes bot missions are the easiest shit imaginable and sometimes it's just like
constant death
It would be less funny if it didn't consistently work
I have killed loads of Hulks this way on 7 diff
Scorchers and Bruisers
Scorchers are a bit trickier because you need to bait out the flame before you charge them
The key is to run as close to them as possible, their turn speed isn't fast enough if you're close enough
If you try to stay at arms reach they will turn faster than you
I would definitely die.
Most of the time when I die from this it's because someone else shot at the Hulk and ragdolled me with an explosion

You cannot respect their personal space
Yes you will take a little damage when their back vent explodes but it's worth it
funnily enough i've gotten into a good rhythm for hulk eye shots but i'm very bad at devastator face shots
i usually need to play with a teammate to bait out their back and unload the dominator into them, or just use some heavy AT
Quasar does indeed one shot hulks to the eyes it's just a very small slit and a large margin of error due to sway and flinch
my biggest opp remains heavy devastators but i'll accept that being an armor issue, i could stand up to them better with the shield backpack or heavier armor but that's not my common playstyle
For vent shots I find sickle can kill a hulk in half a "mag"

- the armor you start with
- the armor from page 1 of the basic warbond
I'm engineer kit pilled myself
It's the only real offense boost armour and it's quite good at it
engineer kit is great against bugs
I run it into bots these days as well
i run padded or medic into bots
Bots I don't need the explosive resist now that the bug has been fixed
I like the democracy protects armor first because oneshot resistance was really important but then because shiny
yeah I think Padded is kinda mid
Particularly with the buff to medium/heavy
on an ultralight armor it is good
light gunner having max speed and stam with the same armor as medium armor
Proper medium armour is slightly higher survivability now
After the balance pass

You'd need a secondary which works up close but it seems ok
Eruptor can engage most of what AMR can so it might wind up redundant
I tried AMR/explosive crossbow and it felt real good though

AMR for long range, Xbow at mid, dagger for the survivors

I really like the Scorcher, great for dealing straight out with Walkers
And I usually run 500+airstrike for reds
Only rough spot is when I'm getting rushed by tons of berserkers
Also yeah the Scorcher does disgusting damage against vents, so hulks and tanks and turrets
Arc Thrower can stunlock smaller packs at least
And Eruptor 1-2 shots them
But yeah its scary
But that can be addressed by sticking with your team
Hulks can die in less than one clip
Just a lot of "if I miss this shot I'll have to run another 120 meters"
oh yeah that would make it a lot harder
I was running that green scout armor so I was actually faster than the denjis

@EnigmaAMC @HelldiversAlert We are not doing transmog. It doesn't make sense - equipment looks different because it has different effects. Swapping one for the other is like having an apple that tastes like bacon or the other way around.
Yeah I'm not completely happy with the choice but it means I can avoid thinking on it much

All soldiers have to carry stuff and march around but most have actual jobs to do

No job at home station so all you do is march and drill and train

Artillery can't move much and losing it means you lose, Infantry have the power of maneuver and versatility, but can be lost and replaced by any pawn.

What's the niche of rocket sentries? I don't think I've ever seen anyone really use them much compared to the AC one

I assume according to description heavy enemies but it doesn't seem good against say chargers, tanks, or hulks
they have loads and loads of ammo
And well against AC who deals with medium enemies just fine with faster rate of fire
I think they have different targetting parameters too
Sentry stuff is my last on the ship modules hopefully it makes them good with the HP upgrade, more ammo, and faster turn rate and such
They're a long range attacker, lots of ammo, safer to put down at the back and let do some support damage than holding a closer front line
yeah I just don't find sentries engaging so I rarely use them

Thermite kills most med enemies in 2 sticks, devastator 1 stick even on the shield. They need to buff it more since it's just weaker than impact

The most important components you don't want to cheap out on is graphics card, CPU, and power supply rest are flexible really if you want longevity

honestly ive found the best use for turrets is "offensive defence"
Not defence against something attacking you, but laying an ambush for a patrol round a corner, or throwing one down a bit away as soon as breach or drop happens
i don't think i have like, the best CPU ever which is probably why it's getting owned without custom settings
It's likely cause I have my orbitals and eagle modules to 3 and no upgrades in turrets yet so of course my upgraded stuff is better than turrets rn
