At the same time, Darktide is also always online and has no problem with mods.
Including fairly major ones like the weapon customisation, which makes some weapons much much better by way of giving them better sights.
Darktide had the benefit of being built from an existing engine fork with mod support, making implementation relatively straightforward

I'm told it's a hit-marking issue, where it tries to send all the information from the arc user to everyone else

I find this unlikely since it affects the stratagem too

I was trying to do the traditional 'drop your leftover 500kg on extract for cool effect' thing when one of my rando teammates punched me, ragdolling me and causing me to drop the stratagem and almost not make it to the shuttle
I did make it and it looked epic but come on man

Well considering there's probably hundreds of Helldivers frozen and each are unfrozen when the previous die with a life expectancy of 2 minutes

And I assume relatively cheap since the ordnance we use in a single op is worth more than a super destroyer
I figure Super Destroyers are pretty cheap and/or launched half-baked, and that's why you need to upgrade it extensively for such luxuries as breech-loading cannons

I feel like its on the wrong side of a lot of breakpoints for bots with the low fire rate

The sickle makes me wanna revisit the stock liberator, but then I think "but what if I just use the sickle instead" lol
a nerf to the sickle's uptime wouldn't be out of line
it's pretty brutal going back to the liberator afterwards

I'm hoping they maybe give some love to the Railgun - i do think at this poiint they over nerfed it, and it's gone from The Meta Weapon to who runs this.
Ideally, i'd like to see it's AP changed up again (Probably put more in the unsafe state - if it can get back to "punch through heavy dev shields", it gets a lot better), and reduce it's ammo down in return (20 in the pack is a ton, and it'd be a lot more reasonable at 15 or even 10, which would push the sniper fantasty with it too. A better scope could also help it a lot)
I'd like them to take a look at the basic Frag and HE grenades - the latter especially needs a tune on it's fuse time. Shifting it's fuse down and increasing it's base damage a small amount would give the HE a role vs Impacts. Frags could probably just use a bigger aoe, so they have the role as the "Fuck this group" aoe grenade. Impacts getting an aoe reduction wouldnt be the worst.

That's a good call yeah its kind of just a Liberator but with quasi-infinite ammo
These are small but it has a longer reload and a spin up
But you get more shots per burst and infinite ammo with careful heat management out of it
And I think no bullet drop?
Sickle mainly jhust needs to loose a few heat sinks
And minuscule recoil
6 is very silly and lets you bake them all day every day
if you had 3 or even 2, heat management is actually a consideration
Yeah the Scythe needs 6 but the sickle can probably get away with 3-4
Actually a small scythe buff would be nice
And considering sickle gets like 2 sinks per ammo I believe
All I really want is for the movement lockout for like .3 seconds after firing to go
But a little more damage would make it a more reliable pick

It's very weird
the scythe doesn't have recoil but it does wander if you're moving
It's similar to the sickle with a windup
But it fires a continuous beam which has very high damage vs unarmored and ablates heavier armor
I really wish I knew how laser damage mechanics worked becaues there's some kind of secret sauce to its damage output but tldr hold the beam on weakpoints
So it works pretty well on bugs by snipping legs off and such
And can eyepoke bots pretty well
But it sucks vs armored targets
If you can't avoid the armor
It's extremely accurate but has a shitty scope
actually I wish they made the scythe dot smaller
that's pretty much the only thing I"d change about it besides telling me how the hell it functions

I go out of my way to deny the enemy resources (most of the time)
Every EAT gets fired, every time.
Sometimes I just use eats on medium enemies cause no one else uses them
And I never remember where I put them if the pod is gone
Really though, calling EATs preemptively is important. One friend only ever called them down after we needed them, when a Charger was already on top of us.
NO. If there's not one on your back at ALL TIMES, you need to call more down.
If your only heavy weapon is an EATs you might as well always have one
Although I do know folks that run a heavy alongside EATs and just call it in when needed
Or just scatter them on CD
I've done that. Though really, "drop your MG for two seconds to nab this RR/EAT and kill an enemy, then trade back" should be encouraged. Especially if it's someone else's EAT/RR.

I mean a lot of other support weapons function that way
its just that those support weapons have a lot more value in that one round/resupply
I dunno, I felt the MG worked pretty well for me against bugs.
Of course it would love more ammo, but I feel like that's much less restricting than the Spear's lock-on being crap, fex.
The MG is a good weapon for sure, but it's hamstrung by the lack of ammo
For comparsion, the FT with easier reloads gets all 4 mags back from a single ammo pop
The FT is also the highest risk/reward support weapon atm, i think
nothing else says "Puit yourself in the danger zone while also setting your own face on fire"

running up to stunned chargers to try and point blank burn them before they recover
it's fun
I think my wishlist would go something like this:
- Spear lockon improvement (+ maybe ammo)
- it's just not consistent enough
- AMR sight fix
- genuine bug that makes a good gun unnecessarily harder to use
- Diligence + Counter-Sniper buff (probably big AP on one, big damage on the other?)
- Scythe and Dagger damage or armor-melt buff or something
- the scythe is nearly okay. Pre-Sickle, I already liked it, but now it's clear that it just isn't quite there.
- the dagger doesn't kill chaff fast enough. It should deal about as much damage as the scythe, but overheat much faster, then it'll be good, imo
- Blitzer slight firerate improvement
- it just gets overwhelmed a bit too easily atm, I think
- Sickle slight nerf to make it not the perfect all-rounder
- maybe overheat a tad faster and only have 4 spares or so?
- Pistol gains a suppressor or something to give it a benefit vs the machine pistol
- right now, the MP just does its job better, and the MP feels like it's in a great spot - so buff the pistol
- Railgun QoL on the sight
- I'm sure it would love regaining some AP or damage, but I'm not convinced it needs anything.

Yeah, I'm mostly okay with it not being a guaranteed kill, since it does quite a bit of damage and removes armor on a hit.
But perhaps once the targeting is fixed, it turns out that it does also need a slight damage buff.

The point would be to use it with one of the others.
A loadout I tried was Punisher Plasma, Dagger, and various supports.
I'm talking sub shotgun range
the tanto in hd1 covered about five helldiver lengths but absolutely murdered things
And like, in such a loadout, you'd want something to take out whatever manages to come too close.
The machine pistol can do it, but it runs out of ammo too fast for a whole mission, unless you absolutely hog the resupply.
If the dagger were even just "pocket scythe" at the same damage but quicker overheat, it would've worked.
It would also, I think, give it a niche in the secondaries:
- MP is the "oh shit" gun - pull it out, hose down anything nearby that's lightly or un armored
- Senator is the big singleshot secondary
- Dagger is the unlimited ammo but kinda slow TTK basic sidearm
- Pistol gets a silencer and becomes the sneak-gun
Because right now, you have Senator and Redeemer, and then you have worse redeemer and tickle beam
tried out the fairly wacky loadout of eagle airstrike, jump pack, stalwart, EATs this morning
I think it could do with taking a cluster or strafing run over the airstrike and swapping the stuns for impacts, but overall it works pretty nicely with a punisher/slugger primary

If none of that works or it turns up in other games, it's likely a graphics card issue
If it's just this game it might be a hard drive issue
Pink textures like that are what the game uses as a fallback "I don't have a texture" texture
The flashing between would indicate some sort of file corruption somewhere

I install latest graphics drivers as soon as I see them, but I don't know if I've installed any fresh recently
last update was 4 days ago and added Forbidden West support, which I was just bought by a friend, so I guess I'll fresh install those
That does imply it might be a hardware issue then, but it's certainly possible a file got weirdly corrupted somehow

I'm a fan of medium armor right now, but I'm 90% sure that's just because I've barely unlocked anything and the +2 grenade medium armor is both early and fun

Also because it seems like when I die from robots it's from an unseen turret tower which heavier armor probably wouldn't have saved me from, and when I die from bugs it's from getting flanked and dragged down by the medium-light bugs which maybe more speed would have saved me from but idk (I just need to get better with the jetpack there probably)

Once I notice them it's EAT time, but I've only fought towers in Malevelon and they'll just donk you from behind tree cover if you allies activate the base.
But also that sounds like a compelling case for heavy armor

Scorcher into bots is so fucking good
yeah, it's great- works as a sort of impromptu stealth weapon as well, since the register where you hit is louder than the firing sound, so potentially you can kill isolated troopers/raiders without alerting the rest of the bots
You can do similar with the autocannon, it's very funny
the autocannon is a stealth weapon, clearly

What would you say do the scorcher and the punisher plasma do differently?
I'm aware that the punisher arcs, very very strongly, which makes it a bit awkward to use, but I haven't gotten to play with the scorcher yet and I'm curious.
(also, just ~100 medals to the scorcher, wheeee)
the scorcher is like a short range DMR
works very well against bots, mediocre against bugs

its basically a mini grenade launcher as a primary, and it's ability to just shove medium bugs is hilarious (brood commanders, hive guards ect)
also with a stun grenade and 1 battery/magazine you can kill a charger if you land all the shots below it

Ever so slightly longer uptime vs groups of small stuff. But effectively no.
Ok, cause it certainly felt like the gatling is strictly better
MG does not keep firing when it is changing targets
this is very important for safety
Any time Iād see someone bring an MG sentry to a high-level mission Iād be like āwhat do you know that I donātā
and also not wasting ammo
The MG turret is also quicker to turn.
If you wanna just drop it down in the middle of bugs to create space it can do it.
Safety is only an issue if youāre not a real one
Rocket Sentry is actually really nice
It has a LOT of ammo
And better target priority than other sentries
I find it supplements Autocannon Sentry very well
Slap them both down in good vantage points and they are a veritable firebase
I really like AC sentry with the improved turn rate upgrade
their ragdoll must have a super high weight value or something
I hope they fix or address it cause I avoid being close stalker nests

yeah I do think it needs to be addressed
It might convert me to autocannons on bugs between stalkers and biles
or its velocity based or the calculation involves a gravity number in unassumed increments or something

I feel like stalkers just need a nerf in general
Either nerf how fast they move or attack, or nerf their health, because once one is close you're essentially fucked and not in the good way

MG turret enjoyer here, faster turn rate, doesn't keep firing when turning so doesn't rinse your entire team of idiots, effectively more ammo due to that
And the most important part: you can run it alongside gattling turrets
running both vs bugs makes pouncers way less of a problem
mg turret seems like it would be very useful for shriekers
I saw 2 sentries against shrikers in the distant and it was like seeing beautiful AA firing wildly into the air
Likely gatling cause they didnt stop firing in between shriekers
The gatling doing sweeps seems good at first but then you realize those bullets are just going into corpses/terrain
or helldivers
Use the mortar turret instead, then all of your ammunition will go into something. It will be me most of the time but it won't be laying on the ground at least

Another reason I like bringing both is that it basically guarantees that at least one of them is off cooldown when you need it
so you can basically drop one every engagement

defence missions are hell in a not fun way, the will of the community has come to accept its better to lose the planet and retake it
also i think they are trying to lock supply lines to the major order for bugs
What's the difference? I solo'd a few low-diff missions on Mantes and they were nothing I wouldn't see on the offense either.
And hell, the high-diff mission we did earlier was fine, too.
They used to be "spawn multiple tanks at once on difficulty 2" hellish
My like, first mission out of the tutorial was a defense mission and I had 3+ hulks and a tank drop in that mission
Initially every op on defensive had a extract personal mission exclusive to defence that had endless hordes attacking you while you tried to get NPCs to a shuttle bay
To my knowledge it is no longer present in every op
This mission type Retrieve Essential Personnel
whenever I've done the civilian missions the hordes have not been particularly endless
they're pretty uneventful

Defense missions are fun because you just all defend the doorway while forcing the NPCs to be unable to leave their spot and repeatedly push the button
Then send everyone at the same time in one convoluted blob and hope your turret is out of ammo
Everyone bring a deployable shield and multiple turrets for added comedy

Not only is that mission not always there anymore, it was really only on high diffs where it was a problem. I solo'd that type of mission back then, but only on 1-2 diffs... (edit, because word order matters a lot xD)

Yeah, but I doubt that 1-2 were fine, and then 3+ were utterly broken.
And especially at the time, there were a lot of posts about how farming 1s was the most efficient way to play.

People were theorizing that Omicron would be kicking the bees nest at the start of the last major order

Many people are saying this. We pushed Omicron and now the Bugs are hitting us with a surge.

It's definitely a key planet for the bugs based on it's supply lines

make EVERY lesser enemy able to either jump as a pack OR have a ranged option with the mini spit

A psychic brain bug that has the same spawn rate as a charger would be interesting
