I picked up the ultralight throwing distance armour and have been surprisingly loving it
Oh yeah I love that onen
you can sprint around everywhere and take out bases from really far away by just yeeting airstrikes at them
works well with stun grenades too
Yeah I like that armor plus the engineer helmet from the last rotation
I need one more super sample (and a bunch of rares but they're fine to get) to max out my hangar and get that wonderful extra eagle strategem use

I was considering that helmet, since it's in the store atm, but I like the first cutting edge helmet
yeah that one looks neat but I haven't got there yet

I have been pairing it with TR-117 Alpha Commander and just being an unstoppable future warrior
I've always liked that armor but not the helmet that goes with it
So having a nice neutral helmet with green in the back to match the armor is really nice

Steeled Veterans has cool fashion and the Senator revolver but the other guns ain't very good

It has a great booster and great primary weapon
people have probably let you know already but if you need some extra super credits you can drop into a difficulty 1 mission and run around looting all the POIs for it

What strategems should I be taking onto lvl 7 difficulties?
I don't think I'm taking the right ones as I'm getting stuck in looping bug breaches
Best tip is stop being detected
Against bugs I find you're always fighting, you just got to keep moving when you're not in critical danger
Considering every little bug can summon a breach it's nearly impossible to stop fighting
I can sometimes do that, although I'm having to re-adjust cause I think they adjusted explosion radius of strategems
Or rather, the amount of time and effort you put into killing every bug is a lot of time wasted you're not doing the objective
also I was not aware bile titans are the fastest bug in the game

but uhh, I'm only lvl 14 and only have the uhh, base orbital cannon and normal eagle run strategems

I still use it after unlocking everything for bugs
yeah, that's what I was using, but I was also trying to do the flamethrower personal order
although now I'm thinking maybe I should do the personal order separate from normal missions
I don't remember what anti-bile options are at level 15, but you could run flamethrower and EATs since you just swap them out as needed when you see a bile then pickup the flamethrower after

oh I thought you were gonna say there was like, anti bile shields to help deal with being one-shot by all the spits
I found the only "reliable" method to survive is to heavy armor and stim immediately after being hit by bile and by the time the stim takes effect you'll be nearly dead but recover
I also don't know if bile ignores armor it feels like it
i'm a big fan of EMS strike, allows you to slap it down on a patrol or bug breach and kill them comfortably
EMS strike seems nice on a team, it has super low cooldown
You can even slap it down on yourself when you are overrun, bcause it can't kill you, but it does prevent the bugs from attacking you, so you can dive out of it
I do like EMS mortar on bugs for that reason unless there's spewers
The advantage of ranged weaponry
yeah, aslong as you can keep it safe it has amazing uptime
for bugs I would recommend guard dog and flamethrower with an orbital laser and your choice of 4th thing
since at level 15 you don't have access to the shield backpack
the stun grenade is also really nice if you have cutting edge unlocked
I’ve been converted to bringing the arc thrower for bugs
and my advice is to focus hunters first because they're always the thing that kills you
You can even use it against Biles if you have nothing else
that or bile spewers since the two are usually kinda mutually exclusive, at least in large numbers

If you overheat in the game your steamdeck overheats in real life

honestly bile artillery should be a mission effect like longer stratagem callins
rather than just being a random thing ontop
Bile artillery doesn’t really bother me I just really want something explosive to kill spewers with if they’re spawning in large numbers
But bile artillery is super easy to track and avoid ime
I wish strategems would kill spawning enemies but apparently they don't exist until they're ontop of the map

I didn't much care for the 44 in the first game, it was too unspecialized to be helpful, compared to the Obsidian for Illuminate and Lumberer for Cyborgs/Bugs.

it would also turn the reinforce budget into a kind of currency you could spend, creating a tradeoff where you can risk mission success for some potent offensive options

Subjectively I think so, I actually don't remember getting chest bleeds at all in that armor
But I don't get them that often anyway
Some interesting notes so far is that white hitmarkers seem to represent like 60% damage loss and the breaker has more AP than the basic liberator
Oh huh, the sides of nursing spewers have worse armor than the top
Still a very poor choice for a lot of weapons since its explosive weak or something
grenade (including GL) to the side of the abdomen is the best way to kill bile spewers, you can usually arc it past their legs
good intel that the white markers are reduced damage tho
Yeah explosives dispatch spewers really well
I've been thinking about the liberator penetrator for bugs recently
since it pens bile spewer heads
with the bonus of the hive guards too

Tell me how it is, if you do. I normally bring the arc thrower versus Terminids, which tends to kill spewers really fast since it's a 2-3 shot depending on angle
I think someone in the squad having a penetrator seems useful
it would open you up to take a recoilless or something to kill chargers
since you don't need a support weapon for the chunkier guys

Though I think the slugger often outshines it around bugs
Since you don't really need its good optic and excellent ballistics for enemies which don't shoot back
it at least occupies the niche of being unlocked quite a bit earlier than the slugger
Honestly I say the pen may be better against bugs than the slugger. I love my slugger but it struggles against large groups
The liberator penetrator may be better for that
it's really neat being able to have these kind of discussions about a game

it's always reading as empty in the sense that the game is always telling me to switch off it as if there's no ammo rather than reload
I like the penetrator but large groups with it are just constant sprint and reload fest because the mag size is so small
and the damage is too low compared to it's standard iteration ( I don't see what niche it fills)

so instead of taking a stratagem wepaon that can easily dispach them I'll replace my safety blanket (your primary that you use to keep yourself safe from chaff) with something that can?

it frees you up to take something else as your stratagem weapon
I think it makes more sense in the context of a team
right- but most stratagem weapons can deal with them tho
you can always pistol the chaff too
too much of a limited ammo supply
the machine pistol on semi auto does good work
the senator seems handy but also you won't catch me getting the steel veterans pass any time soon

The libpen is also helped by overpen being a thing

Mostly because I find the Slugger's reload a bit too clunky and they kill roughly the same things.

The slugger is the ultimate breathing room weapon. It gets anything big out of my face, and snipes things surprisingly well.
It seems to kill hunters even if it just clips them, which is also really nice

the crowd clear is nice and I've only killed myself a couple times
plus it tears scout striders to shreds
yeah anything that explodes just knocks them right off their stupid high chairs
my favourite thing about scout striders is tasing them with the arc thrower and seeing them jump out of their chairs like a looney tunes cartoon

If you ever want to feel like a god, run bug 5s with slugger / GL / jetpack / orbital rail / your choice of armor killer
You can solo breaches all day, kill entire patrols for no alert, just find a high spot and start nuking
is the power of the jetpack just being able to stand on tall rocks

Generally its best use is making fall damage not exist
You can jetpack off of any height and the pack will still slow you down for a 0 damage landing

the water crossing strat we had this morning was one of us running into the lake and me yeeting their respawn beacon to the other side with servo assist
And leap small buildings in a single bound. And fly really far from high ground. And assault Automaton bunkers directly. Bypass choke points. Escape dead ends.

after it showed up in the super store rotation today I picked up the super light servo assist armour and really enjoyed it
I cannot play any other way. This shit makes me feel like a lightning bolt.

perhaps I will become a jump pack maniac in due course
Legionnaire and Light Gunner are my go to
one problem I had specifically today is a -1 strategem mission
that shit was awful
Both provide ubiquitous booosts to survival in all scenarios
we kept getting tanks and dreadnoughts
Though I prefer light gunner for bots cuz armor
Bugs limb you a lot, Bots tend to just shoot you dead
I have also been really enjoying the shield pack
it saves you from having to stop and retreat and stuff when you're getting got by bugs
I tried out the shield pack earlier since I'm playing on my steam deck and I can thoroughly say it is easy mode
I don't like it
Oh boy will they shoot you dead, rocket devastators, bruiser hulks, cannon towers can one shot one you. It's why I love heavy armor and shield against bots
It is WAY too forgiving and it makes my brain angry

I tried legionnaire today and really like servo assist
And living near the center
And being on ground
servo assist is way better than I was expecting
Makes me wanna get the heavy servo assist armor for bots
Legionnaire + the new grenadier helmet is fashion as hell for me rn
the ability to snipe bases with an eagle airstrike is wonderful
I started off playing with heavy servo assist and it was great
Missions go by like at least 5 minutes faster on average with a good servo clear nests and fabs
First thing I did was yeet an impact into a bug hole from the other side of a heavy nest
Cause of a lot of little things you save time on running to the base, teammates can focus on objectives while you clear, you can yeet spawns closer to deathpoints while being further
And that 30% is just enough to be able to avoid detection and run for it, I do miss it sometimes
switching to ultralight yeet armour and a shield pack feels like playing a different game
I never got light armor cause I do like standing out in the open and playing aggressively
Aggressive but not smart aggressive
I play that way with light
I've got the padded light armor so I'm fast and a dumbass
@quick plinth @modest fiber @graceful bluff just saw me put the jukes on a entire horde of bugs including 2 bile titans and chargers
I only really like the shield on light because I fucking despise getting oneshot by rockets
I like being the one running towards a rocket devastators without cover to attract it's attention from my teammates that'd get one shot, taking a rocket or 2 and standing back up ready for more

it has to take a really high amount of damage right
Man I am still pumped at juking the entire termanid swarm, grabbing the samples, and getting out with everyone else dead
I've lost the pelican to a bile titan once
And to something in bots, Amko was there for that one
I dropped a cluster strike right on the pelican once and it was fine
It looked fine except in both cases the engines were on fire
can it die after takeoff
And you can freely move inside the back but it won't trigger any animation, the mission still went on as normal
doubtful
I don't think stratagems, pcs, or npcs can harm it, I think it's usually due to physic glitches
I once had the pelican glitch into the ground
On my friends first mission, no less
So like a bile titan can mess up it's animation and push it slightly into the ground and cause it wild physics glitch it just breaks
But not lke a bile titan can spew acid on it to harm it
I'm sick but I feel like doing my democratic duty
I also saw you run into a Gatling barrage seconds after it started right in front of u
They really need to fix drop pod killing
They need to make it so I can actually use the power steering I paid for
So annoying when it just doesn't let me do anything

Yes if you like ultralight armor and the ability to be a stratagem mortar
I quite liked it, at least for the one mission I managed to play today

like you equip the weapon (maybe a secondary or something), input the stratagem, then you have to load it into the weapon

damn I wasn't expecting to like Helldivers at all, but then a few friends were playing it so I picked it up, and I ended up playing for 8 hours straight

The more I use it the more I think the punisher is the best stun tool for bots in the game
Genuinely I need nothing else to handle berserkers and demolishers

should try it on bots more though
It seems to at least handle the small bots pretty well
I think it's much more of a bot weapon than bugs.

"oneshots raiders" isn't a very high bar I feel, but it's still a very useful one
not spending 4-6 shots on chaff enemies is a good time saver

i'm probably just overbiased from all my time using a scorcher on them
It’s pretty good for breakpoints, one shots raiders and troopers and commissars even with the splash

1 shots scout walkers
Needs 4-6 for devastators or chainsawmen but stun locks them
I haven’t really tried it on tank hulk weak points
I suspect it’s not great though

But the dominator's penetration is similar to the slugger's

I'm considering practicing bug 9s with one as a backstop to keep deaths from cascading out of control
They're pretty solid
For example, too many heavies and all AT is on cooldown? Drop in one mech, which has 14 EATs
Because of the high cooldown and limited uses you need to be strategic with using them
Idk if anything else gives you as many dead heavies at once as a mech
But they arrive very quickly
and fight very hard while moving
I think they're generally worth bringing once you know their idiosyncrasies
Like how to face their armor and not blow yourself up and such
The other nifty thing about mechs is the dropship kicks ass while its in the air, the cannon on it is really nasty
Makes me wish there was just a loitering gunship stratagem

It's also helpful in holding actions to throw in the general direction of bots since they don't seem to like shooting through it

I think throwing arm armor is pretty solid
Especially in conjunction with a jump pack or dive you can throw strat balls so far enemies don't aggro
Yeah, throwing arm is super useful. Yoinking airstrikes at bot bases or bug holes from a safe distance is really handy
Injuries seem like one of the more arcane mechanics to me, hard to get like, a solid read on the extra limb health
I think it basically does 2 things, makes it less likely that you'll get a limb break, and I think reduces the "crit rate" from hitting multiple hitboxes
Also makes "chest breaks" less common I think

Grenade pistol sounds like it’ll be very very good purely because it blows up fabricators and bug holes.
Which means you might not need as much additional stuff to do that with depending on reload speed
Yup, exactly. I think that'll massively up the value of smoke and stun grenades, because you won't need them as much.
i think it'll be more effective in that regard for bots than bugs
bot bases only have a few fabricators anyway
but bugnests have so many bugholes, if the grenade pistol is your only way to close them you'll likely run out
so there it will be a nice supplemet
Notably, from the leaks, the 'nade pistol only resupplies 2 ammo per box out of the 8 it has in reserve

Basically the physics is strong enough to keep you on the mech just fine
But the issue is if there a bit of desync your client will see it is no longer on top, so it'll fall down which will tell the server you are falling down
I know one person can stay on decently
But two people for assisted reloads is not tested
But imagine the power
A mobile recoilless rifle platform

New mech: no guns just a large platform on top for three people to stand and operate a team weapon with a supply pack

With bugs there’s only so many ranged enemies and most of them are big enough that it’s easy to point them out from a crowd and fire rockets at them
But with bots there’s just to many rockets
And it’s impossible to dodge them in the mech
Yeah it's just too tall a profile for such a well rounded faction like the bots

tbh the blinking yellow beams are the least interesting ones
the containers are more fruitful
You gotta optimize your search pattern
Also make sure to avoid a planet like estanu that loves to make causeways/mountains. Try Draupnir or someplace that prefers larger flatter maps

Yea it's really nice since I learned you can 4 shot kill a charger with a stun and Gl launcher which isn't efficient but you can deal with every situation with bugs except bile titans with just GL launcher and primary
And bots the GL launcher is basically a backpack less autocannon but less accurate
No booping little red weak points

i run slugger/punisher, some pistol, stuns, rr
i need to grab stuns just to easily get the kill a charger with a resupply pod achievo

and its also a you can use stuns near them thing to get to minimum safe
I feel like in most cases nobody even shoots the hellbomb. You call an air strike and suddenly boom “guess there was a hellbomb over there”
or the bots miss you and hit a bomb you hadn't seen
They didn't miss, they weren't trying to hit you they were aiming for the hellbomb

Alleged Illuminate sightings seem to be increasing in frequency
One report I saw on the subreddit was a diver claiming to have seen an Illuminate Sniper take a shot at a distant target and then cloak/disappear

I wish ballistic shield had like say a bit of a energy barrier thag extends outsides so you're completely covered from the front
As is enemies can get lucky shot st exposed parts from the front and there's not much you can do about that
