I like the heavy yeet armor for bots if you don't need the extra survivability of explosive heavy. That 30% throw is kind of huge and let's you do stratagem hit and runs without being noticed until the fabs are destroyed and by then you're like 100m away and running
Combine it with the jumppack to throw strategems insane distances
And you can take care of nearby fabs without wandering too far away from the team, especially at extraction when fabs tend to be within 100m of extract
The long yeet is really nice
I've got some really good strat throws off against bot and bug bases with it
Though I prefer the armors in the steeled veterans warbond because robo limbs are rad
really weird that that pack doesn't have a light set
But yes the drip has a thing that I LOVE in heavy armor
That's a hidden benefit is being able to throw from a distance means less time running that short distance adds up and I've noticed being able to shave a good 3-5 minutes off of a 40 min mission just dealing with fabs yourself
So you can just say you got this light or med base and your team does more important objectives

It's honestly a pretty good choice, especially on certain mission types or if you've got a good team.
I have a video here somewhere from earlier on of feeding ammo to someone with the autocannon backpack, while they are doing co-op reload with the autocannon user
Side bonus of that backpack basically being a free extra resupply, even without doing the whole 'pass around the backpack to double a resupply drop'
I haven't been that good about using it but I welcome it on my team

Supply drops become like a big potion I feel like where everyone tries to save it for a vital moment but it's never used ever
It is map dependent cause some maps throw nothing but supplies at you for POI and some maps give you nothing
that's one of the best parts of the supply backpack, you can call down resupplies just to refill it
don't have to save it for when everyone needs stuff, can just distribute over time again

yeah the first time I saw the backpack fill up from a resupply drop I was like
oh, this is all I'm ever taking then
it gets supplies back for every supply you take
even being totally selfish it's a ton of ammunition, stims, grenades for myself
for maximum value you want to have Spear or Recoilless Rifle user(s) on the team
I tried supply pack and railgun pre nerf and that was fun
also basically acts as a second resupply drop? you can drop a new backpack mid mission for another four resupplies
Didn't know how to give others supplies
I'm a grenade launcher enjoyer and the backpack definitely supports how hungry it is
I'd say probably half my resupplies go to myself, other half to my friends
also turns out accidentally dropping directly between two stalker nests is kind of difficult to pull out of
I love the grenade launcher and jumpjets
Against bugs you're basically untouchable if you play right
I wear 50% reduced explosive damage entirely because I know how unpredictably grenades can ping off things and back into my face
had one accidentally ricochet off a friend's shield and go straight up into the air earlier
I do that for bots, no longer fear rocket devastators except for ragdoll physics deaths

To make mechs not suck against bots, you must have prime situational awareness and control over the engagement

It's still kinda >:T since scout striders seem to be totally immune to the machine gun, but it's solid vs devastators and the rockets are great.
Eventually we'll get the EXO-48 Obsidian and it'll probably dunk on bots though.
If it's medium armour penetrating (which it seems to be) you want to focus on the legs of the scout walkers, since I think the front is heavier, armour wise
EXO-44 - Minigun + Rockets
EXO-48 - 2x Twin 20mm Autocannons
EXO-51 - Flamethrower + 90mm Battle Cannon
Perhaps, I think it's jank that it's significantly more protected against medium-pen bullet hail than devastators are.

However high level you need to be to have:
- an anti-armor option (EAT, RR, Railcannon, getting gud with Precision Orbital, etc)
- a support weapon you like to bring (default MG is unironically just really good)
- a booster to equip (ideally at least one person brings the ammo booster every mission)
after that it's just finding things you like and what synergizes well, and skill

I am getting very good at the mech
Consistently getting the most kills when I'm using them
My most common deaths are consistently from Chargers basically glitching forward at ridiculous speeds and one hitting me
Which is fair, and balanced

took like 6 consecutive shots from rocket devestators and was slamming stims, taking cover, and waiting for my 180mm orbital to make impact
one them hit me almost square and did like 70% my hp and sent me flying back
that marksman rifle aint half bad in the early going, wish it had like a couple more shots but it is still p cool and good
I feel like elim missions have become too overwhelming. The maps feel too small for the amount of enemies that spawn

unless youre undercutting the difficulty
im level 10 and doing medium difficulty elim feels insane
by myself
the rest of the mission types i can do with somewhat relative ease

I dont actually know wha'ts different about them mechanically, but they're very visibly different. tehy show up on the civilian defence missions (the one where you have to do a mini civi extract) and on the hunt-the-x missions at low tiers, after brood commanders but before bile titans

Bugs in general seem to have funky spawn rates. Automaton enemy rates feel consistent to me, but Terminid missions have some sort of randomization factor. Some missions have spewers, some don't, some missions seem to spawn a ton biles, some have none except for the occasional wandering one. Sometimes you get a wave of 'oops all brood commander' or big hunter patrols.
Ottos be like "do you want twenty berserkers today or another flamer hulk? Too late have both"

Precision has been really hit or miss for me, either does really well or nothing at all

The charger charge will get stopped by the mech, unless it does that ‘big stomp’ move
Impact killing biles and chargers with the 500kg never stops feeling great
Which will oneshot the mech
I'd argue you get more bang for your buck on Hard, sure the enemies are a pain in the butt but the bonus is higher
I think it also depends on what you're trying to grab. Difficulties with rare samples will replace some item drops with rares, which therefore lessens your chances for each pod/bunker to have medals/reqs/super coins

As someone said during that discussion, maps are smaller while usually not really skimping on the number. And you can handle the enemies really easy
trivial is optimal farm for a lot of things
For liberation percentage speedrunning trivial ops are the best way to min max it

Been doing a bit of arc thrower in preparation for the new one and I'm always surprised how well it deals with chargers
if it arcs to one of its legs it opens up a small hole you can just shoot normally

It’s very accurate and strong at long range
yeah the high zoom level is really nice
And pretty good at killing devastators at long range
that all sounds really appealing for me since rn im using the diligence
for most of those purposes
can shoot right through the faceplate of hive guards
it's slowish but it works
fair enough
but yeah good accuracy at range and zoom, burst fire keeps up at close range, armor pen is enough to be relevant, it's a good all rounder
It doesn't do the most damage, but if you're not using it against proper Heavies it will always be doing that damage
Yeah the anemic damage stat is kind of a lie because it gets red hitmarkers way more
And if you can hit weakspots with it, it doesn't even do that little
solid ammo capacity too at 10 mags
10 mags with 30 each, yeah
I don't think I've ever taken it off burst fire so it's more functionally 10 shots but yeah
takes more firing discipline than the regular liberator because your burst can go wide if you don't aim decent. but if you aim even slightly okay you're nailing shit pretty reliably. i can take down devs and hive guards with some ease.

I love the speed of light armor but I need passives that compensate for what a hazard I am to myself with my chosen secondaries so it's always medic or 50% explosive damage
and I don't think I've seen a light armor with those yet?

I have noticed that if I wear a personal shield while in the mech, the shield sticks out of the front of the mech and catches a few bullets

I have a question about automaton tanks
Can I just shoot them with EATs and expect them to die, or do I have to hit a weakspot on the tank somewhere?
There is a glowing vent on the back of the turret
You can shoot them in the front of the turret for more damage but it takes more hits
you can shoot the weakspot with any weapon and do respectable damage, but your best bet for wiping tanks fast is the eagle 500 or rocket pod, which both one shot, or the airstrike, which seems to do most of its health or one shot probably depending on whether any of the explosions are considered to hit the weakspot
orbitals work too but most of them have pretty long cooldowns and the bots often send tanks in packs past level 7
airstrike + similar gems are pretty solid counterplay
2 impact grenades to the turret bustle also seems to kill them
hard to go wrong
Maybe 3 if you don’t hit the heat sink dead on

Course I am totally not used to playing a shooter on controller so

I'd argue this is one of the premiere games to learn how to
(I haven't used a controller for shooters till about a couple of months ago when I injuired my tendons due to poor ergonomics, and in helldivers I haven't really felt that limited due to a lack of precision which is usually a given with a mouse)
It's less about precision and more about reaction time

helldivers 2 is really close to the PvE-only extraction shooter i want
like the main change would be the goodies and stuff you can loot in mission mattering more in terms of your progression
obviously helldivers 2 is a completely different game from an extraction shooter
but like, the idea of a semi-randomized open world-ish map with various POI that you can explore while also helping random players with their own stuff for rewards and goodies you extract with
sounds so fun to me
the autocannon is so hype
using it versus bugs is such a good time
i will still take recoiless vs bots but autocannon goes so hard for bugs
As for extraction shooters Helldivers is creeping up on Payday 2 for me
It's more my game of power fantasy and explosives

Autocannon is really good vs bots.
it goes onto your back while you're wielding a two-handed weapon
and does protect you from back.......... fire while that's the case
smg primary is one handed, otherwise it's just secondaries which is more limited

I think there's another one-handed primary but the defender is a+++
great gun all-round thhat happens to also synergise very well with the ballistic shield
since you don't have the better energy shield version it'll do you well as far as stopping you from being one-shot by rockets, just remember that it falls off whenever you get ragdolled

I've been super in love with the slugger but I admit I am just chaperone-pilled
I do really miss the crowd control of the defender/lib a lot
yeah slugger was already good and the extra ammo makes it great
i take a nade boost armor usually so my crowd control is pressing g
that or im running breaker or spray and pray so crowd control is free
I love my crutches so I'm basically welded inside my light medic armor
more impacts is super tempting though
when light grenade armor rolls back around I'll probably pick it up
i never take the medic armor because my deaths usually arent from running out of stims, theyre from instakill or stunlock mechanics where more stims would never have saved me
Ok so I’ve run a few missions today
I’m level 4 and I’m really liking the disposable anti tank
the EAT is fuckin goated at low levels
and the pump shotgun is so nice against automatons
the draw of medic armors is less quantity more quality in my experience
the EAT is your best friend
It staggers them so well
I don’t think the defender is better than the liberator
I think it’s just better at short range
2 seconds more of effective invincibility can save you against hunters
I think it's a little weird that the defender is the more accurate slow-firing weapon than the AR
The liberator lowkey has a great optic and great ballistics at range
but the lib also doesn't have apex drop like the defender does
EAT honestly stays pretty goated
im Aiming Georg and simply unaffected by bad optics/irons so idk ymmv ig
i pop flawless noscopes with the AMR too
that and getting dropped into a pub where no one picked space optimization for some reason
my secret is having enough hours in post void that i stopped looking at reticles/irons and started just centering heads in my screen
It’s also got weird dispersion and drop at long range - but that only really matters vs bots
you may not notice 4 to 6 stims but you'll notice 2 to 4
in fairness vs bots is where it really matters
i play almost exclusively with the homies, sparing me from this hellish existence 🐱
i mostly use extra grenades or the light gunner armor myself but explaining the reasoning for medkit. for bots i'll never switch off the explosive resistant light armor though, been hit with one too many rockets

rocket devies got me using the amr on bot missions
the sheer tilt factor of robot backshots is unmatched

I think it was hugely slept up during the Railgun Era
it can like three shot hulks if you're good at face plate shots

and the AMR has way harsher recoil and worse ergo due to the sens cap

play tennis with the rocket dev
then a heavy dev dives in front and parrys it back

make it work like lethal league where it increases damage and speed each time you hit it
use a heavy dev as your stationary wall, then flick it into a tank and instantly crash the game with the explosion size

I'm also deciding whether if I want to just be a big game hunter type and be a tank and hull killing monster or balance things out and swap rocket or railcannon for something else
Rockets x3 makes tanks a cakewalk but iffy on hulks, railcannon can actually take out hulks and tank
For bots I like to use airstrike or gas strike and rockets
Rockets are "good enough" and have a lot more uptime
When I played earlier I was dropping tanks as soon as they came in with rockets and on a 240s rearm there was hardly any tanks in play
At diff 7
Hulks I had to wait on railcannon or teammates
Hulks I usually just try for an eyeshot
Does gas kill bots quick?

struggles to kill devastators some but that's it
And they have a habit of marching into it, yielding really huge killcounts if you place it well
I want to give up shield for a 3rd orbital but having a chance to negate a rocket devastators knockback has grown on me
It's less so a shield to stop damage but to stop being thrown into a rock and being one shot in heavy armor by physics
Unsafe is pretty... Safe lol, you just gotta shoot it before about five and a half seconds
It also charges faster so there's no real reason not to use it in unsafe
Maybe I'll do a niche balanced team build. Shield, railgun, rocket, gas
slightly higher than a minute with the cd upgrade
Shield to survive cause with bots and heavy explosive armor I consistently have half the deaths despite being worse than my teammates thanks to tanking devastators and other one shots
Railgun - kill hulks and devastators to protect my squishy teammates
Rocket- kill tanks like crazy so teammates can focus on hulks
Gas- ad clear and dropships
I think thays going to be my next bot loadout
75s cooldown sounds amazing
It might become my new EATs
I assume it's also good against bugs
Yeah Gas rules vs bugs
Throw one on a bug breach and it solves 75% of your isssues
wombo combo with EMS and/or eagle strats for even more killitude
My typical loadout for bugs these days is Clusters, 500kg, Autocannon, Gas
Though I'm thinking about replacing Clusters with Airstrike for extra Bile killing
airstrike also a bit less fickle when deciding to tk

and you have random ricochets expanding the area
I have been straight up robbed at the end of a mission before by calling in a danger close cluster I'd normally be perfectly safe from because I had plenty of clearance
And then had an errant cluster charge ricochet off a nearby rock face and directly into me

I've been a fan of napalm or tesla for bugs lately
I like how well the tesla covers a retreat
Though crushers tend to kill them pretty fast

my bug loadout is Flamethrower, Slugger, Impact, EAT, 500kg, Shield.
Sentries in general are something I've been sleeping on though
Crushers give extremely high priority to killing sentries
That's fairly similar to mine
Its annoying
and then i just sit on the frontlines or covering the retreat turning everything into a bbq.
AC sentry beats their asses at least
1 burst=1 dead crusher in most cases
Now that I have a lot of their upgrades I've been using sentries a lot
Since I find they can kill way most bugs than pretty much any red and draw aggro
Just need to be careful with placing them because their lead faucet is rated E for everything
I've been running gatling+AC+mechs+rockets lately
Yeah sentries really whip ass
While we have no Strat launcher for the mech, sentries pair really well with it
Since they're pure fire and forget
Yeah and if I'm meching I can usually get by without a backpack or support weapon for a while
Its funny to think we have the weakest version of the mech and it's still pretty fire
What primary do you all usually go with for bots?
Yeah after the first time I popped a leg on a charger and instantly killed it with the minigun I was sold
I generally use the liberator penetrator
Or the breaker if I am Mad About Berserkers
I can see them nerfing rocket capacity on it tbh
level still low, tend to just rock the diligence
I don't think they will until the patch reducing heavy numbers happens, if at all
Its a 2x mission call down, it should be powerful proportional to that (very)
one "problem" I have with mechs is that I keep running out of machinegun ammo before rockets 
The other mission limited stratagem is autonomous death on a grand scale
Theyd have to change the model to nerf the rocket count lol
I usually have the opposite problem but I treat them as disposable and fire off the ordinance asap

Battlemechs are very much tanks on legs (with arms), control like it too

I can break down chargers with relative ease
autocannon is apeshit
It's my favourite thing against bots
So bloody useful
I just find it has a nice balance of "scoped enough for snipin armor" and enough firepower that it's like "yeah tanks and armor should fear this and the eagle + orbital strikes that may come with"
Fire rate is good, reload isn't terrible (i cannot tell if it is actually diff than recoiless), and has all the bells and whistles of a meaty AT weap
it uses 5 round stripper clips, so if you reload between 5 and 1 rounds left you only top it off which is super fast even solo compared to the full reload
Yeah i noticed that it was filling part the mag and i didnt want to break the animation just because 1.) Had no reason to 2.) I figured it wouldnt need to go through a racking animation of some sort if i only half loaded it but i wouldnt want to hamstring myself potentially (the bots are in the trees) and be caught lackin
I still wany to try the spear when i unlock it but for now the autocannon really is one stallion of a workhorse
the tac reload on the autocannon is so nuts
keeps it handily above recoilless for me in 99% of situations

It kills things good but the reload time without a friend is atrocious
Whereas you get like 5x the shots with an autocannon and it'll handily beat anything you can hit in the right spot
its better to constantly call in EATs than use RR
The big draw is that you can actually use the reload on the AC too

The secret with loading is that you don't need to continuously be loading unless it's like, a Bile Titan
Just load the gunner at some point after firing
Have a friend to pop in and load when you need it, not be attached to you like a symbiotic organism
I remember watching friends in a duo do RR and AC and loading each other and when things went smooth it was fucking amazing
I would rather have a GL or railgun to round things out personally
in part because one of the coolest things you can do in this game is run RR and an ammo backpack
anything that keeps the back free which is why I'm a little hesitant to say flamer
Preach the GL word. I got addicted to GL + jetpack over the course of the afternoon today
I was doing level 7 bugs for the first time, just yolo swagging into heavy nests and blasting all the holes closed in seconds before jumping out

I think you can make it work well sans shield as long as you're careful and swap off to a primary when you have flaming hunters going at you
Breaker or Spray & Prey will mince everything that gets that close in shockingly short order
