I have tried my best to recreate this truly epic theme with a Metal twist!

EATs is really good against bugs
Each EATs can effectively kill 1 charger and with 2 in each drop that's should keep up with chargers up to a certain point
Eagle airstrike is simply goated
Rover is great against bugs
That's pretty much the loadout I bring but I use orbital railcannon unless I get a 2nd 500kg
Good to know. What would you put as the fourth choice for the second person’s loadout? I’m leaning towards another set of rocket pods tbh
Could also do another turret like an autocannon turret
That way p1 is good at clearing heavies and p2 clears hordes
I would not bring mortars to bugs because mortar will shoot any bugs no matter how close to a teammate it is and bigs love being close to teammates
(Last night was nonstop nailbiter challenging runs so I’m trying to figure out how to make them marginally less stressful)
This makes sense to me, but I think my wife has named her turret at this point.
Napalm is a good early game eagle for destroying bug swarms
So asking her not to bring it probably won’t work, lol.
If you were to swap it out, napalm sounds like a good choice tho
Cluster also works well against bugs just triple check for friendlies before throwing
It has the opposite of 500kg problem where it's deceptively bigger radius than it's visual
An alternative is to replace mortar turret with autocannon turret, and get a flamethrower if player 2 wants a turret

I also dipped briefly into the subreddit looking to see if anyone mentioned it and that was a fucking mistake
they are having a collective Gamer Moment over the devs getting snarky over nerf feedback

Good for the discord mod, that fellow just seemed like a bad apple that loved to power trip and aggravate people for no reason
The dev I sort of get cause the game is likely very personal to them but it wasn't good behavior regardless

a single dev getting very confrontational over the changes and handing out "skill issue" to everyone saying 8 and 9 is simply not that doable anymore
especially terminind extractions
That dev also started riling up people for fun a bit in their own words
since extracting turns out, ruins any cohesion a squad might've had as everyone is running circles around the exfil point trying not to get stopmed by the 5-10 chargers, at least 3 or 4 bile titans and swarms of smaller bugs

I dunno if I was a dev working on this game and I saw how people were behaving I'd feel the urge to take shots back

like, not two weeks ago people were praising "based devs" for banning a transphobe from the discord. this is the flipside of that
like. it was a hit then, it should be a hit now

This is a level of exposure to gamers they genuinely weren't expecting
Its like a small team needing to handle a game's community that's growing incredibly fast in a way none of them predicted
and I think the antagonism of the community, especially on the reddit, probably didn't help
Considering arrowhead is probably too small for a full time PR person, they're like around 100 people total right?
I def feel like if they're talking to this dev, they should also look into having a harsher moderation policy especially when it comes to the subreddit

Once you hit a popularity vortex it’s probably best to have a more stern and harsher moderation is probably necessary just in terms of traffic alone not to mention cry babies

Yes I use it to great effect against bots
I enjoy throwing a 500kg as a dropship comes in, timed to explode when the last bot touches the ground
Game I'd love if you counted 'A Strategem Jammer Base' as 'Enemy Activity' for the drop pod screen, this was the roughest start to a mission
Flamer+shield is as good as it sounds
For bugs
Flamer is just kind of cranked period and the shield stops you from self-igniting or getting surrounded
EMS grenades next warbond.

The EMS Mortars make bug civilian extracts a breeze
I wouldn't call the Flamer cranked, its not an S++ weapon like the old Railgun was into bugs, but it's very good

This is probably a console thing but it honestly feels better into bugs than the OG rail to me

Oh cyan I didn't get the bile titan order done earlier btw 
The Railgun was good to the point of completely trivialising Chargers and Biles if you used it properly
It could one shot Biles with the right tech and functionally two shot Chargers on top of staggering them every shot
The Flamer rinses Chargers now, but the range, lack of stagger and the need to pour fire on for a period of time are all actual caveats/downsides

It's easier for me to use continuous fire weapons with the thumbsticks on console and handling chargers+swarms+mediums is better than handing chargers+titans+some mediums

Its why I think the flamer has landed in a place where its a very good anti bug weapon, maybe even taking one of the top support slots, but it's not busted
flamer disagrees with me because I always get bowled over while trying to get an actual finish with it
but then again I am number 1 GL enthusiast
so I have a good general-purpose gun anyway

really my only beef with the GL is that it feels like shit against chargers but I also suck at the bellytech
Flamer is good for what it obviously is intended to do: cook things at close range and even lay ground DOT to clear incoming enemies which naturally counters bug swarms
They're fine but the game has pretty mild aim assist on console so I can't match mouse aim precision
I'm terminally thumbstick-brained so I play PC with a niche keypad, and it makes typing stratagems a real pain so I might try controller
I have largely stopped trying to kill chargers with it, I just use impacts, railcannon and teammates

This. The dev’s stated balance idea is that ‘everything should be great for it’s intended purpose/fantasy’
Which is fine overall but there's a few weapons like the railgun which are somewhat weaker
although I do think the optimal force comp is something like three anti-heavy specialists and John Grenademan for base clearing and anti-medium armour support on objectives

some weapons are just a lot easier to point and shoot in first person on occasion

Almost all the rifles also have really good scopes in first person
The nerf gun and the dominator don’t which is kind of a bummer

I love it against bots
It may take overlong to kill if you hit only torso

So instead they had the bots blitz us and now we're retaking it

I think the armour looks alright but I hate the helmets for the most part
Armor design is honestly hit or miss with Helldiver
I hope they eventually add a way to ‘blend’ armor and helmets. Make them match better

@stone bridge The one that caught my eye was the Plasma Punisher, which appears to be a flatout primary grenade launcher
well, I already have everything with stats, so it would literally be fully unlocked

I have some drip tendency left over from my time in Destiny so i tend to stick to a look while wanting to improve the stats
I'm missing a few armor sets but that's it.

I immediately flagged the medic armor as being shadered with Silver Tactical and immediately got so fucking disappointed in myself
there is absolutely no fucking reason I should still remember shader names
I have been a completionist already, it is basically completed, I only need another 29 supersamples to be literally capped
it's a not-insubstantial part of why I run it
although I think engineer armor is maybe better for my headass playstyle where I try to solo nests
I dislike the light medic armour power ranger suit, which is a shame because it's top tier
blast plating light armour is my go-to

see if you're not getting oneshot you're probably able to take even more damage than other armors

kiting is nuts in this game especially vs bugs
getting into a protracted fight, regenning half your stamina, and then turning on the burners and vamoosing out of a fight is a hell of a drug
I was trying light medic armor, but the lack of protection is a bit killer when it comes to hunters.
Yeah I find that if Hunters get to you in light you crumble fast
if you get cc'd then it's a bit ggs but I'm broadly fine with accepting that as part of the risk
it is an unfortunate cost but one that I am happy to pay
If you commit to the bit and run a Defender you have really good kiting ability
love me a Defender
as much as I love the slugger it has really notable crowd control weaknesses when one kill / second isn't good enough
Who needs protection when I have extra drugs

Yeah folks have been really liking the Slugger but thats a huge weakness that keeps it in check, imo

and yeah, slugger really wants something like flamer to back it up
I had a very funny death with briar yesterday where i flung myself out of the way of a charger

If you need multiple things dead very quickly the Slugger's fire rate kneecaps and probably gets you killed
Yeah, I love the slugger but usually take a good crowd control strat to back it up
and looked up to be surronded by hunters

Woke up this morning to the great news of Armor Rating finally working, I didn't have time to properly test it out but here's a quick comparison in a similar fashion to my first video on the matter
I will be getting my friends to help make proper testing some other time soon

In the first game EAT would pop just about anything in one shot
When aimed well, of course
i want a buff to all weapons with magazines in that the firing sounds get progressively more clicky in the last 5-10% of the mag
Even weapons without magazines, I want the EATs to make a nuclear click noise every time
EAT was a main AT option in HD1
I’m glad the next patch is toning down heavy armor some

It’s very hard to handle bot drops with like 4-6 hulks in them haha
No no enemy heavy armor
I love the EATs
There’s no specifics but they’re apparently tuning the enemy mix to have fewer heavies and elites and making them more consistent to kill
But they said it's likely gonna be a hotfix
So we don't have to wait until 2nd whatever of next month

Kind of a shame, I enjoyed the walls of armour somewhat, but at least I can get my "I soloed prenerf bug Helldive" sticker and then get to enjoy, presumably, 200 hunters

I found the rocket eagles are really nice for taking out bot heavies
Making a little fire base again and again and again
The idea of having 3 rocket eagles every 240 seconds is very appealing
Rockets are great for tanks and literally hit or miss for hulks ime
I’m considering swapping my rockets for 500kg
But 500kg isn’t consistent for hulks either
How do rockets do against bugs can it take out chargers and bile titans in 1 hit
This sounds like a real bastard if you have the +50% strat cooldown modifier, though

And the shield gen was awesome for meteor showers

Devs say stratagems are key to taking down big enemies
Also devs: Makes stratagem cooldown longer
Shield+turrets was really impressive though
I kind of want like a mother of all extraction or boy defense where it's 4 EMS and 4 mortars
Just kills everything can can actually (combined with player attacks and red call ins) completely destroy mass bot drops on 8+
But the cds are long and it’s inflexible
We had a really hilarious strat where we hot dropped onto the main objective and immediately dropped the shield+turrets
they are quite similar, i find the dominator has better handling and is better for burst situations, but if you play it right the slugger has better sustain
I think it's kind of amazing how helldivers straddles parody while at the same time making me feel genuinely cool.
slugger has pretty bad crowd control but its ability to oneshot even heavy targets is astonishing

it has a pretty deep mag but the issue is that it just has a firerate of 1
the punisher has hella stagger, one shot pushes a brood commander back like 10 feet
even though you will probably kill whatever you shoot with that 1 bullet

I did love that about the darktide shotgun
causing people to just bowl the fuck over
honestly the punisher didnt need a buff, just fixing the ammo pickup made it top tier
You can stunlock brood commanders and Devastators, and oneshotting everything means it's far easier to just work through a horde
just gotta backpedal a loooooot
I should maybe try the Punisher again for bugs
I think scatter is probably better overall for bugs and staggering them to expose legs seems like it would make life easier
Slugger seems pretty much the Bot weapon unless you want the Scorcher rapid fire and strider elimination
Punisher works similarly enough to the slugger that I honestly picked up a slugger instead once and didn’t realize for about 5 minutes
Recommend, though also recommend a guard dog since I feel punisher’s more a team tool
slugger reaaaally wants a guard dog so you don't feel like you're just wasting half your ammo on little dipshits

My current goto for bugs has been Dominator/Senator, Flamer+shield+ napalm strike+500kilo
i think i would carry around the defender more if i bought the ballistic shield
honestly a rover feels super good on bugs no matter what you're running

The kiting ability it has is nuts
Defender also deals insanely high damage at short and medium range
ballistic shield is pretty handily just outclassed by the energy shield
It’s like 2-3 place in terms of raw DPS in the tank iirc

in part because you don't fuckin have to pick up the energy shield again if you get ragdolled
Though this is not much of a stat
I am still all in on AC for bots and GL for bugs
The big thing about it being one handed is that you can fire backwards while walking without being slowed down

But it’s really solid and flexible because the direct application of the fire has incredibly high DPS and you can ignite the ground to make impromptu firebreaks/napalm strikes to kill smalls
There armor has some kid of damage/health score at which it breaks. You can see this with the laser too, where it starts with the deflect animation and then punches an actual hole into the armor with sustained fire

you have a choice between third person which doesnt' have enough zoom or first person where half the sight picture is obscured by the giant yellow laser and weapon

The main trick vs chargers is you've gotta focus fire a limb
spreading it around just wastes ammo, you can kill in 30 rounds or less if your aim is good

I've found it takes between half and 2 thirds

hulks seem to take like 2 to 3 Javelins, which is just absurd when Javelins oneshot tanks
and also considering just how ammo hungry Javelins are

it's somehow still not super likely to splash bases
but a high volume of sustained fire takes care of most incoming giant waves of idiots

I heard some recommendations about the 120 and 380, mainly maybe a little bit of guidance so they hit targets more often
120 got tightened up significantly and it does absolutely fucktons of damage

380 I think is only reliable vs large targets but it’s good for them

so the risk of blue falcons is still pretty high and hitting a specific point is still a gamble
Though it’s really funny when it doesn’t finish the base off for 18 seconds
My thing with 120/380 is “but bigger number = bigger boom?” clarification this is my thought process lol
I prefer the 120 now which is very very good as a dedicated "Fuck this location" button
TZP will attest that I dive-threw a 380 like 100 meters out from the perimeter of our extraction and it was still routinely killing people inside the base, yet further from the throw point
Though both EATS and Railgun rely on a good aim.
Impacts to the vents do good damage, and the vents are very vulernable to a lot of priamry weapons - i know the Scorcher and Slugger rip them up

I've used the 380 a little with the update, but not the 120 yet. At the very least I don't feel like I'm taking my life into my hands everytime I throw it out now

380 is basically a mildly more intentional meteor in terms of size it feels like
But the bangs are a lot bigger
Also I have a hate/love relationship with the new meteor/eruption storms. On the one hand, good incentive to do things quicker and can help out with hordes (turns out meteors can take out bot drop ships!) on the other hand

because I can just sweep at them and they get melted, while I find it harder to aim at them with AMR

I find it works best on the middle setting
so if you're under that range your shots can just go over their heads
the AMR is unusable on 50m setting

I pretty much only use the middle setting or third if I'm trying to sneak around
I might try and keep hammering away at learning the AMR, because it does seem really good into bots overall
One thing to note: it can fire surprisingly quickly. Don't be afraid to fan the hammer if you're panicking
Can the AMR kill the illegal broadcast towers?
I think it can because you just need to do damage it's just not the most damage compared to explosion
One grenade will do it
There's also a panel at the bottom of the tower that lets you turn it off
But that's less fun to watch :)
plus then nobody has to deal with the enemies grouped around it
the bugs know how to guard 5G towers

because they have such range and power they're not really fun to play around

I dunno I saw a 500 drop right beside it and it didn't even seem to reach, and most of those don't hit the SECOND cannon turret

They have the same animations and everything, down to the beam glinting in the barrel as they're charging a shot to warn you they're about to fire
that's also because 500kg are really really really wonky. The AOE is smaller than the effect might make you think, and I think it can be stopped by some weird terrain that it really shouldn't be.
500kg is more like an orbital precision strike with a second charge

It's a very good gun (The laser cannon) it just doesnt fit my flow
Generally aim at the same weakpoints you would with a normal weapon, but it can burrow through enemy armor if need be
Hiveguards, scout walkers, etc can be hotgunned down regardless where you hit them at
they've both been stealth buffed aiui
in terms of dealing more consistent damage
but yeah neither more than the other
Also preferred to use it at range and if you have a buddy have them run distraction so you can gun em with the beam
Oh and remember to crouch/prone for reduced sway!
Scoping in can really help to hit those weakspots
If you’re having a hard time shooting walkers with the lazer canon hit than when it falls down you can kill the bot quickly

The tip for this is to aim for the ground because sometimes the projectile bounces off armor
Grenade launcher is also definitely great, especially for quickly filling bug holes/factories and popping targets at range

I can confirm that we're currently looking at changes to the spawn rates and health pools of heavy enemies, and will be attempting to spread them out more to prevent large spikes of tougher mobs appearing at the same time, as well as making them a bit easier to bring down. This change should go out in a future hotfix - no date as of yet.
