#So what's the point of Personal Kinetic shielding?

From the latest SotW playtest, Personal Kinetic Shielding is a new, non exotic pilot armor that gives the pilot +0 hp, 0 armor, 10 evasion and E-Defense, and 4 speed... the exact same stats you would get for wearing no armor at all. And unlike other armors like the mobility suit, the Shielding gives you no additional abilities, and in fact explicitly lacks abilities like environmental sealing or an interface. The only advantage this has over other armors is that it discrete, so it doesn't look like you're wearing armor, but not wearing armor has the same effect. The only difference between not wearing any armor and wearing PKS is that the PKS has the shield tag, which is probably useful in some niche scenarios, but I can't remember the last time another characters equipment having the shield tag mattered.

Note that Comp/Con does not display this correctly at present due to limitations on its pilot gear formatting but a text version of the mechanics for this armour will appear in the upcoming module draft

It's not a huge deal as its just pilot armor, but that should probably be in #new-content-resources

I'm not sure it needs playtesting, but if people are going to playtest it, then many who don't see that one thread will playtest the wrong version

There's an upcoming draft at some point that will have that mechanic be clearer

Yea, but it feels weird for it to be hidden in a thread for weeks/months until that comes out

#

If its coming out in days, then thats fine

It's currently pointed out in the post itself compcon doesn't really show it correctly, you'll have to wait and see

I don’t think it’s “hidden.” It’s right there.
