The "or wet" condition is really easy to fulfill
Yup!
Stand in a puddle? Wet. Rained on? Wet. I think even Waterblight fulfills the condition.
Unrelated, what do we think of this fit, yay or nay
Aye, gives a really rugged vibe
Soulseer is packaged as part of base Mizu
For... some reason
Also, there's apparently an Ancient Wyvern Coin at this spot in the hub
temepered mizu got hands, still no carts to it but damage is insanely high
Mizu has it's normal rage, but also a second enrage now where one eye bursts into flame soulseer style and it gains the flaming bubbles. This seems to be permanent? Or not linked to it's normal rage, I'm fuzzy on details
To be fair wounding it's head makes it look soulseer-y
It may actually be connected to the head wound, it seems very easy to break this game
My notes from having fought a few so far
Not connected to the head wounding, it was able to trigger it just fine without, dunno if its that easy to break i know the first break is easy but that second break can take some effort sometimes
It doesnt seem to need its intial enrage, ive noticed it go from exhausted to normal to instant soulseer so it cant seem to IMMEDIATELY go from exhausted to soul seer but, close enough frankly
i think its almost more akin to damage dealt to it that seems to trigger it?
atleast against tempered i notice it going into soulseer often.
...I thought that looked funky, then I realized it was two folks standing atop each others' model and not a guy that inexplicably had an HBG and an SnS shield lmfao
Also wanna note for damage, i was rocking fully upgraded arkveld armour, and a minor defense boost due to my dragon res, and its full body slam was giving me the "this hit WILL kill you" warning each time
Im so glad it got the fuckass body slam
(dragon res the skill, not the stat)
I've found those tend to not actually be "This WILL kill you" and more often are just "This WILL hit like a fucking truck"
Shrug, iver only ever had it kill if it hits me raw (no blocking, no divine intervention like blessing/defender)
course i usually just
block it
what warning is that?
But yeah, outside of maybe missing certain things, namely like the drifting waterbeam (seriously, it was one of the only ways water beam felt like a threat) new mizu is perfect beyond my usual issues with the armour
If a monster's attack is capable of killing you in my experience, you'll get red scoutflies to guide your attention to the attack+some warning from your cat or alma to get the fuck outta there
well technically they guide you to the monster who usually is the originator of the attack
your health bar will go crazy
yeah the vibe check moment
I've had some people in the zoh fight who are very professional, and some people who got bodied by that insta-kill attack
Usually it's just "hey, big damage and your health isn't looking great" warning
So I just turned off my computer but uh... is the black marrow or whatever it's called from zoh just a very rare drop? Or do I need to smash something in particular?
Also I need one of those damn orbs for my weapon
Good to see the arena quest gear is still garbage lmao
Has it always been that way, actually? Arena quest loadouts being weirdly terrible to subpar? Or is that a newer thing?
I cant really think of a game where arena gear was explictly top tier
World had that one Zinogre arena quest that inexplicably gave you full Velkhana kit and a Velk longsword
Max level too, it was the GOOD shit
Jeez, fair
thats definetly the outlier then, no offense
the majority of arena quests ive done which
is more than i'd like to admit
tend to just give you vaguely acceptable weapons
Yeah it ranges from "Subpar" to "Actively bad"
So did they add a Misu variant with the update?
Ah.
which i guess is a variant? but also not
I thought I saw ||him do the Soulseer fire eye.||
He gets to Soulseer as part of his base kit
For some reason
It's weird yeah
As the prior said, yeah
...tbh I hope they add Violet Mizu
i dont mind it but it does make me a little sad cause it does mean soulseer's armour is truly gone
If they do i hope the armour gets another pass cause it being just a recolour of the base was
dissapointing
I will say, violet mizu with soulseer mode would be SO FUCKED
He phase transitions into the Soulseer form and you just hear fucking Megalovania start playing
I will say though
wilds ABSOLUTELY has my favorite version of the mizu theme
Orchestral Megalovania
With choral backing

Wait oh my god
imagine if they add zinogre and it gets a thunderlord enrage
i'm just hoping they put grimclaw tigrex in so i can go back to the comfortable numbness of suffering through 15 hunts for the grimclaw gong
With the way they did mizu, i dont think we're gonna get any of the deviants sadly just deviant aspects added to the monster
Kinda like how dreadking's meteor attack and some other bits were added to rathalos
they should just port over zenith monsters from frontier
"you thought the game was too easy? alright, fuck you."
Would be funny
But yeah, iunno
im EXTREMELY happy deviants are being acknowledged in some manner, im just sad it means we wont ever get their gear back
Seemingly atleast
we do still have a good few TUs and a whole expansion to go
Danny I didn't know
I miss Rise's surge slash combo so goddamn hard
oh i should give it a try
Sounds like some Unga Bunga was had
whats new about hammer
It's infinitely more fun than the standard charge slash combo
im interested in the new zoshia hammer its very funny
I like how all the other Zoh Shia weapons are these grandiose fancy pants transforming works of art and then the hammer is just
"Steve Mined Craft is going to beat the everloving shit out of you"
3d printed default blender cube on a stick
What's it's name?
blazing yuria
Jinny's just a great fight
Also, what's the difference between Rise, World, and Wilds?
they're extremely different games in every way
Weapon loadouts?
the monster rosters differ
Rathalos
the speed differs
the weapons' movesets differ
the methodology of hunting differs
rise and wilds have mounts
If you could give a one paragraph sellsheet for each, I would be much obliged
rise is arcadey
it's the fast, simple, and easy one
world is the slowest and most demanding of the three, although much faster and smoother than older games
it's the bigger of the two finished games, and demands competent positioning
Demanding in what sense?
all of them
you have less leeway
with your own moves and with enemies'
overextensions are punished harder
your actions are slower and you don't have get-out-of-jail-free cards or nearly as many powerful counter-moves or ways to skip through your weapon's rotation
So it's more a "learn the game, noob" experience?
and it's a larger game, so it's also more demanding on your hardware
(larger and with a more graphically intensive visual design)
they also have entirely different core mechanics available
as supplements for standard weapon mechanics
world has a slingshot, which also turns into a grappling hook if you have the DLC
Wilds has that too, right?
only the first half
rise has wirebugs, which act as a resource for super moves and super dodge rolls
as well as palamutes
and much smaller, more condensed maps
I see
wilds is between the two in most respects
world's visual design, world's map design, rise's very generous defensive and movement options
no wirebugs
slinger, no clutch claw (grappling hook)
extra moves on every weapon
most of them new to the series
Rey Dau ( 💛)
wilds is also incomplete
because of how monster hunter games are designed
they're released with most of their content, but content updates bring new difficult monsters and difficult versions of monsters
and then ultimate version/dlc hits with G/master-rank
i would suggest rise if you're new to the series entirely
master rank is hard mode
there are two parts of each game
low rank and high rank
low is almost always tutorial
or at least most of it is tutorial
it introduces you to easy monsters
lets you get comfortable with mechanics while doing early story
and then high rank makes the monsters tougher and adds more complex/difficult monsters
G-rank, known as master rank in world, is this but again
adds more monsters, the existing monsters get more dangerous with new attacks, higher speed, new mechanics, and better gear
I see, I see
base Rise is the easiest, and also the fastest to get into/learn
although base wilds isn't very difficult either
I like slower paced games though, lol
in rise it's more that you're faster
you're more mobile and have easier/more generous ways to react
against monsters that are about as fast as normal
sunbreak, its master rank DLC, pushes that to higher difficulty levels
but world vs rise depends more on how loose you want to be able to play
although rise is also faster and less dense in other respects too, so if you do want the game to be slower, base World probably would be the place to start
Cool, twas my thoughts, but wanted to make an informed decision
Now, to wait for a sale
wilds is also very easy, but in ways that are mostly made apparent if you're already comfortable with the game's systems
although it's also very good
but so are the other two
So playing with just base, and then buying DLC, it wouldn't break the save?
correct, it would just be like playing through the dlc of any dark souls game
Of the three, Worlds is the oldest. It is the first game in the 5th generation of monster hunter games.
It focuseso n a big, belivable ecosystem and exploring that, and expasnion pack Iceborne, builds on that. it features many, many quality of life changes from the prior generations.
Rise the second game in the fifth generation. It's by a diferent team. while it builds on what World did, it has it's own roster, and is a lot more arcadey - less focus on the ecosystem, more focus on FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. a common complaint is that rise is too fast, it's also probably the most complicated.
Wilds is the latest game, and the first in Gen six. it's by the same team who did World/Iceborne. It's very harsh on your pc to run, but actually has a story, and a lot of mechanicnal depth and lessons learned from both rise and world
I Would personally recommend Wilds or World first
Rise is great, but it's much more series veteran aimed
and is liable to be overwhelming if you're new
Excellent. I haven't actually played any Soulsbornes, either...
Also, lol at the totally different advice re Rise
Topple and i dont see eye to eye often
Hoenstly, i'd look for a sale
and grab worlds/iceborne on that
sicne they tend to go on sale cheap and often
then yo ucan figure out if you wanna invest in Wilds (it's expensive)
OR if you think the more arcadey combat of Rise might be your thing
both have stupidhuge amounts of content
Wilds is of course the new hotness, and it's very good
rise was very much designed to grab a new audience (the switch audience)
and i think that the faster arcadey style lends itself to that
but given it's demands on pc perfomance and it's pricepoint ,i dont think it's as good an entry point to reocmmend
I have base Worlds and Wilds on Steam Family, so...
Well, there you go then
steam family solves that pretty easily
I'd leap into Wilds at that point then
and if you have perofamcne isuses, just boot up World
might as well play the ones you've already got
Was more thinking should I start with Rise, wait for a sale for Iceborne, or get going on World
Cause if IB broke saves....
and it's for people who have finished world
and want it to be harder
i also can't think of any dlc for games in the last like
10, 15 years that "break" basegame saves
it's really not something you have to worry about much anymore
Literally every Paradox one, lol
oh
Though that's more every DLC comes with a major content patch
paradox games don't really register as anything other than paycheck shredders to me
considering how much dlc they have, and how expensive it is
but fair, if that's your starting framework
Good to know
Also a few smaller games I've played, that wipe your saves on an update
Soon™️, then
Soon™️
Just need to finish my course, so the PC is free
Trying to put together a Shogun 2 Naginata Warrior Monk type beat, but I can't really find a fitting chest piece (armor & coat), any suggestions?
for reference:
Hope comes to mind but I don't know how it dyes
Hmm, I fear it has to much of a "jacket" vibe where "robe" would be more desirable
coming back to rise LS after playing world for a while
is so crazy
the training weights are off
everything is so fast
cats plundered tigrex and shagaru mantles

finished up my shagaru GS because of it
Been beating up that Doshaguma in the arena quest with a greatsword lately
I think I'm starting to understand why people like this thing
the greatsword, or Doshaguma 😛
getting the should I frames right is just such an amazing feeling
What's even better is getting the offset right
Still trying to figure that out
I know it's "Connect your sword blade with the monster's attack" but it's weirdly finnicky
the window is pretty generous
but you need to actually "set" and start charging to do the offset (even lv 0 charge)
if you just do the normal uppercut, it can't offset
Right
Least until endgame. Sunbreak endgame is intense apparently
Oh if you're starting Greatsword I can link some really good advanced tutorials if you want
all of sunbreak is definitely harder
i'd say sunbreak starts like
So I think high elemental resists confers blight immunity of that element.
I'd appreciate it, thank you
mid-level difficulty, but ramps relatively continuously
it does, yes
20+ yep
you can tell bc the color of the number will change

afaik it's been that way since tri
This video concludes my coverage for Greatsword! I don't think there's much else to cover in terms of its movesets at least for wilds. Will be doing more runs on this channel until an inspiration hits or something that I found worth covering. Might be thinking of doing Matchup breakdown videos but not promises yet. That's all thanks for watching...
but i could be wrong
gotta play neutral
These literally map out a flowchart for you for you to follow in hunts. Theyre incredibly well done
We should get a poison Mizu.
This Ganondorf looks cool
...boy I wish Zoh Shia wasn't 80% Massive Damage AoE Spam
Be nice to not suffer from getting blown the fuck up and chunking my entire health bar every three seconds
Still a cool fight at least
Most cinematic one in Wilds
I'd say it's the most cinematic of the new gens but Gaismagorm having artillery dropped directly into your location will always be absolute peak shit to me
And all the shit going on with Narwa & Ibushi
ESPECIALLY when you Wyvernride an Elder Dragon and kick her ass
Use slinger ammo to break the crystals. It makes the fight much simpler
Aaaand Amatsu exists
It's not the crystals, it's just
FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL BREATH ATTACK GROUND SLAM FIREBALL FIREBALL
Just constantly
And idk why but it always just hyperfocuses on me, I don't get it
Does CB have some like, hidden mechanic of the monsters aggroing on you more often?
do you fell its hard or do you fell its repetitive ?
there is a armor skill that gives you agro
its on arkveld
Only Arkveld set I'm wearing is the layered one
I noticed it with a tempered Nu Udra too, it was weird
Just kept hyperfocusing on me
Maybe it's because I kept dealing a lot of instances of damage?
I don't think I have any Diversion pieces is the thing
might just be bad luck then
I haven't had that issue with CB vs Zoh Shia
honestly might have been a bonus actually, to get SA mode easier
Like I said, I might've kept drawing aggro because I kept dealing a bunch of instances of damage
other ppl kept eating all the wounds
With the whole "Sword strike + phial damage + sometimes an extra hit from the Zoh Shia weapon skill"
And Savage Axe of course
I had the Xoh Shia Aggression factor in my group but I was dual blades with stamina surge so I can at least just scuttle like a scared bug
It's like when he starts a Fireballin' Cycle it just picks one person and sticks with it
but it was made with the Hater Dragon DNA so this tracks honestly
zoh shia gear has no right looking as cool as it does
Real
That masc helmet especially
Can't go wrong with an edgy skull
And the HOOD
Oh that hood has such fashion potential
i'm in it for the angelic vibes
...I won't lie though
i gotta figure out savage axe in rise, I'm reading it's good for element?
I do question why they gave the Fem set's leggings underwear but worn on the outside of the pants
but a bit annoying having to rev it up every time I switch out of axe, so I might slap on some evade window/extender
It looks silly as hell
what in the
Element and status, yeah
i see
hell if i know
maxing those as a swaxe has been very nice for me
You don't need armor if they miss
Oh, hey, it's the Handler's old outfit, that's fun
Quite enjoyed the new bossfight
New armor, new build
Won't take the new weapon tho
I've only made the dual blade so far
Oh have you got it working now Barclay?
Anyone playing at the moment?
I have a tempered Mizu in my pocket
I'd be playing if my power wasn't out
Ya pc is running perfectly. I've been moving up the ladder. But took a break this past week for the yearly "You guys wanna play Minecraft?"
I'll have a ton of free time next week. I'd hunt monsters with y'all
Woo!
What do you do with the coins?
What coins?
the wyvern coins? they're trading material for one of trhe wudwuds i think
The coins you get from the arena thing
arena quests, you smacka something in the face (had to try a hammer, I sucked at it) and you get some coins or something
I think it's new armor
New armor, possibly also new weapon designs at some point
I have found the armour, thank you!
Also! In the area where the arena quests are given, if you got something crafted, the animation is different
I thought it might be with the Legend being right there
How do you unlock Archtempered? Hr100? Or is that a later dealie
They're not out yet
They'll be like an event quest sorta deal
AT rey dau is later this month but I don't remember when
Gotcha gotcha
wonder what sorta extra stuff they'll give it
team aqua lieutenant fit
Oh, I may be dumb, but I see people running around with like... a fairy following them around? How do you get that?
This thing
premium purchase dlc pendant i think
finally got around to trying everything in rise! there's a lot to dig into, but between rise and world, I think I've gotten a decent grasp on at least half of the cast
the lances are definitely my weakest, but I managed to poke a lagombi to death in only 20 mins so I'll take it
Ah. money.
That's some good poking!
How'd you find horn?
29! that's some good horning!
really fun! it was my first blunt weapon and I found it super fun to bonk monsties on the head and get KOs
I also love using the ironsilk application to armor through roars, the egg/earthshaker are real fun to see some big numbers with, and the normal strings feel very weighty in a good way

i also enjoy supporting in the rare occasion where I play multiplayer
I do enjoy multiplayer, and honestly the roar immunity is so darn useful
I need to start using the earplugs on my weapon again Zoh loves to scream
Also, look ma I'm a healer!
We know the armor from data mines, it's not suepr amaizng but has some nice bits
heck yeah 😌
i mean in terms of new moves i heard they were gonne remix it sorta for a fresh fight
could be wrong
Saved a handy investigation of anyone needs Jin
We saw at least an aerial railgun shot
But yes, ATs tend to get new/remixed moves
I love that these are two different styles of the same late game armour that has been put together. I'm on the left and they're on the right and there's such a massive difference.
one is demonic with a white accent and the other is angelic with a black accent and both make my neurons fire in special little ways THEY'RE BOTH SO COOL
they're both a mix of the different forms too, cause I'm wearing the fem waist and bottom and they're wearing the opposite
absolutely incredible designs for both
i love how the fem set has angel wings that extend when you draw your weapon
after playing both world and rise for a while I have concluded that they are in fact both bangers
which one? 😛
I'm the one on the left. Walked up beside the guy and did a cutsie pose and we started to cycle through them together
then yes, absolutely
Wonderful
...god I wish you got more end of quest rewards
Mostly so you don't end up spending a bunch of time just farming claws or some such
I think u don’t get as many as world because of the wound breaks
Yeah, true, you're definitely meant to supplement your rewards with wounds, but wounds only give you the most basic stuff
Tbh it'd be nice if the end of quest rewards were the more uncommon drops almost exclusively since wounds already give you bucketloads of common materials
are rubbery hides basic drops on nerscylla? cause if not then i have to disagree with this statement.
Wounds have seperate drop chances, they're admittedly far from just basic stuff but that does make the majority of chance
Im indifferent to the new system since i run a set with flayer and healing off of wound destroying so the loot is secondary but it does feel a bit blegh at times how little drops you have on the end quest screen
I think that it would be nice if they showed you all of the monster parts you received throughout your entire hunt, that way you can really see just how much you get from wounds/ part breaks.
I will say they seem pretty free with lucky tickets this time around, and there are certain meals that give you a chance of gathering more stuff from carves, and another that gives more stuff from captures.
You need to use a meal ticket for it but it's good if you're real desperate to farm out something fast
One thing I did get annoyed at however was Guardian Scales+
Because you can only get them from like two monsters and they HAVE to be a reward from wound breaking
Yea and there's kind of easy ways to get meal tickets as well
Becuase you can get them from both Arenas and Bowling
finally got the DLC
You finally got Absolute Peak
^^
Hit HR 100 today
I really love the clutch claw
It's like a weird mix of the Whiplash and Knuckleblaster in ultrakill
I wish it was balanced better
It's a cool idea but it just
Ended up being THE thing you have to do
i really like it with hammer
Holy FUCK I look cool
Oh that's a great fit
Guardian Arkveld armor is the best looking set in the game
The Arkvulcan gauntlets go great with it imo, the chains really add a lot
...god sleep feels terrible to run
Not even because it's bad, it's just nobody stops wailing on the monster and they just immediately wake it up so all that effort to put it to bed feels wasted
At least it makes a big opening when it's falling asleep
it's also kind of just worse than para
same thing but the damage extension it gives you is more limited
Yeah
I also already run Para on CB, and there's nothing else I'd have a reason to use sleep with, so I figure why not go with something different.
I like Sleep on a bowgun because it's not like The Main Event, just a lil bonus for Mega Barrel Bomb Time
also nice to get that 'breather' instead of EVERYONE MAXIMUM DPS that paralyze makes y'wanna do
I have it on my Artian HBG bc the other HBG I use has Para already, so basically the same reason
the other day i put a Rathalos to sleep with a single rapid-fire volley from the Gravios LBG
i don't know if somebody else in the group was running sleep or if it's just that good but it was kind of fun
The first proc is really easy to get, yeah
i'm having awful trouble with GS wakeups on sleeping monsters, though. i keep landing the first hit of the TCS, not the second
You can change the direction mid TCS using focus mode in case you didn't know
i did
i should probably work on that tbh
i've gotten so used to the careful wakeup spacing from World so it's just kind of my default
it's pretty easy imo, easier than measuring the proper spacing
you can just be right next to the monster but facing away
God I love the Gravios LBG
Third coolest one after the max level Artian one and the max level Rey Dau one
That mf is just straight up an LMG with wood furniture, and I adore that
...goddamn quests fill up fast
I'll see an investigation with some juicy rewards, not even started yet, 1/4 players, I go to enter, "Sorry the quest is full"
It's mildly annoying but it's also funny so I'm not pressed about it
I've spent the entire Guild scrip, I didn't know that was possible
...it does get more annoying when EVERY quest you try to join is full though
Full Price?
They are being massproduced!
Oh, I need those
I hate it when Zoh whips around and just massively fireballs you,it's basically an insta-kill
Is it? I've ate those fireballs before with no issues
giggles in guard frame
Okay not on topic but IS THAT EDGEWORTH OVER THERE???
it's all capcom
the little ones can be okay, but the BIG one is enough to kill after the big flame breath right next to them
so I'm in a corner because Zoh is magnetically attached to my forehead even if I try to leave, they breathe down on me and knock me away, then spin and charge a fireball that kills me instantly the moment I stand up
and because one of my teammates stood in the fire twice on the insta kill attacks and runs away from us when we're setting off the crystals, I use the last cart and we fail
Hehehehehehehe I have made an abomination
Perfect
we need palico coloring
on the costumes? huh i missed this
started MHGU today, and had some fun (after getting exploded by a hub quest for a bit)
feels very different from the 5th gen games, but hammer is similar enough
I joined WHO'S quest???
Diabolos
DIABLOS??? WHERE????
ground
Running quests, apparently
Guild's so short-staffed they had to resort to hiring monsters
If only there were not one but two whole games whose gimmicks were training monsters, who despite having a very small audience were nonetheless beloved by many
Shame that, Capcom should really consider the idea
Oh?
Yeah, they could've called them some really distinctive name to set them apart too
Maybe something like Monster Hunter Stories, make them more narrative based than other MonHuns
That'd make for a great collab honestly
Pokemon collab wherein we get a hammer that's just the world's biggest Pokeball on a stick
Huh, where?
Also, question
I know World's MP can be.... interesting at times
Does one player just having base, and the other Iceborne, affect anything?
IB unlocks stuff, but can play with Base World up to High Rank fine.
Gotcha
But I would be able to load into, say, a Bazelgeuse hunt with Rajang gear just fine?
And still be able to grapple around and stuff?
Probably yea
https://gg.deals/deals/?onlyHistoricalLow=1&store=4 i just went on here and searched for iceborne
Huh
Gotcha
got the new weapon!
the zoh one
cool white guitar
it got a white sworl on the back
Zoh Shia weapons kick ass
zoh shia longsword has a weirdo freak sheathe
it gets wrapped in weird white threads whenever sheathed
apparently you get a buff if you're nearby when she finishes her performance
So I saw Zoh was kinda weak to blast stuff as well? I'm tempted to use my blast horn against them
that would make sense given you're blasting bits of its shell off
gonna give it a go
Speaking of Blast, how good is it in Wilds?
I know it was the de facto king of statuses back in World
overshadowed by paralysis but i think for many weapons highest damage if you want to fight monsters that can fight back?
if you're comparing blast and poison in terms of damage then without many poison support skills available in the game blast certainly wins out
but paralysis is definitely better
hard to calculate how much damage it actually gets you but it procs pretty reliably and is a great opening
Yeah I've noticed that Paralysis seems a LOT stronger
i believe their DPS is actually pretty comparable
It is its own sheath
for some weapons like longsword where you want the monster to be attacking you, Blast is arguably better
I'd say that one thing for tempered apex monsters is that paralysis can get you a ton of safety on attacks but you can stack that resistance really quickly. So having your second weapon being something like poison or blast or something you can switch to when you need a harder hitter isn't a bad idea.
I managed to offset melody zoh in the face when they were doing the charge attack
catapulted them backwards into the wall. Very fun.
fuuuuuudge you
Yea Wild has pso2 concerts now it's great
I hate how tight the A-rank time is
"Get a sub-3' 30" on this monster with subpar kit"
And I got so close ;-;
Keep in mind that arena monsters are specifically tuned with 2 player health
Huh. Can you do it with two people? I was just doing the fights alone
OH my god
I just learned something insane
About the Mizu fight
He only goes soulseer if you break his head
You turn him into a variant MID FIGHT
You can, and you can bring a support hunter along too
because soulseers are Mizu’s that have been blinded in combat
...oh my fucking god you're right
That's a fucking awesome detail
Issue: Head is made of glass and paper mache
It's really easy to break it for some reason
So interesting that opens up organic multichoice variant combats influenced by prerequisites during the fight
Oh, that's cooooooool

Archtempered Gore Magala turning into chaotic gore or molting into Shagaru
Or smth like that
ALSO man there’s a really cool version of uhhh
Mizu
That’s mobile game only
That I want to show up in the real games
There’s a thunder Mizu whose lightning arcs towards you if you have bubbleblight

I just thought. What if there was a monhun nemesis system like theres a chance that when I fight ends it escapes you still get rewards but it comes back later its tempered on the wounds you inflicted and has some extra sshit and it remembers you. And its pissed
Might be cooking but I think the concept is broadly copyrighted
Maybe you get to name it too
Oh that's the that mizu ol' no eyes
Gore molting into Shaggy mid-fight would be such a peak "OH FUCK OH GOD OH SHIT FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK" moment
Do it so it molts during a run away phase
so you're chasing after it and you turn the corner and the molt is just on the floor and it's like "ohhhh no... that's not good"
Have them mounted on a wall waiting for you. There's a lot of cool walls in this game, and so far the only thing that's jumped at me from a wall has been a bug
Batman me from the shadows with a horrible beast
but give it major knockback if you offset that attack
Also I ran out of money then I remembered you can sell stuff and realized I like sixty ray dau scales just sitting in my inventory
And after I was done I got the get a million moneys achievement
Should go and sell off some of my clabber to get it
yeah honestly, when doing the gem hunting attempts I just wound up with around 60 of the basic scale things for the apexes
and they sell for a lot
arkveld items itself, just for the gem, sell for a lot, and all I did was reduce the amount I had down to 30
Anything I had over 30 of I sold down to 30 because if I need over 30 of something then more fool me
You can also convert stuff to gems/Artian weapons
i didi the same shitttt
...Christ, you know what annoys me the most about Wilds so far
The fact that like half of its mods are just NSFW mods
Fair
me looking for cool clothes in elden ring and getting slammed with the night's cavalry bikini armor mod

Tbf, there hasn't really been time for mods with thought out into them
sigh it's tradition
I guess, but it's still annoying to like
Go and look for weapon mods or armor mods and you have to just sift through a shitload of "HAWT AMINE WAYFOOOOOOOOOOO" mods
nearly none of the people making them have good taste
One of the few good mods I've seen is changing the perfect block noise to the SF2 Perfect sound
LOL
its nexus, good taste is a rarity
It gave me this good clip
idk if its me i find arkveld to be my worst monster just the chains with the visual effects fuck me up, i pretty much didnt cart until the rematch
found out there's "eye bag" makeup
This goes unreasonably hard
Oh hey, there's an ancient wyvern coin up here
I had a really cool actual idea for a 15th weapon
Javelins
General idea is you have a limited quantity, can retrieve them, and gain increased damage against parts with stuck javelins
Whoops. I forgot i'd updated my drivers and now i have to recompuile my shaders
RIP ME
Riiiip
Noice
I tried a new weapon cause the Rath arena fight doesn't have a horn option. Turns out the gun lance is pretty fun, but damn having a block on demand button feels easy mode after getting hit by every stray attack with the horn
Woooo, Zoh Shia down solo again
woo!
So much fucking easier solo
because i dont have temates who see the big slam into fireball and go
OH GUESS ILL DIE
If you wanna spawn your own Zoh shia - go to Wyveria, rest for "Inclemency/Daytime"
This is prettyy reliable, i got ine first try, heard osmeone else get second try
I love The Lore on the new monsters
And anotehr zoh down
I need to make a para greatsword for him
Just so once sleep stops being effective, i can switch over
"True Fear? I won't even know your attack pattern"
Imagine you're a huge dragon minding your own business when four miniature hairless congas appear dressed like those guys who went missing last week and stunlock you for half an hour
It amuses me that i named my two main armor sets "Great Violence" and "Great(er) Violence"
(Great(er) violence drops the earplugs for more maximum might)
That is disgusting, but aweosme - you can find arkveld in one of the areas of Wyveria, eating an unhached cocoon
Also tempered Mizu can just do his Blueflame mode without any head wounds
Ah, I'm actually disappointed
Unless tempered is yet another difficulty hike?
Terminology still goes over my head a little... 😅
But only Tempered goes soulseer?
No, normal does too
Oooh, ok, I likey
It's also cool that he specifically does the Soulseer mode after you break his head, which is traditionally where you want to focus fighting Mizu
Has it been confirmed for normal one it's only after headbreak?
Tempered can do it w/e
I didnt break Mizu's ehad and he went into Soulseer mode
I havent confirmed forn ormal mizu
I've only fought the tempered one after doing normal mizu once
both as practice and cause i wanna fight one that doesn't die immediately to end game gear
Won't be peak until we hit PSO1 and get a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDWsZh9qXsQ

I replied to wrong message

Is that the artian charge blade? I've never actually seen what the artian looks like
Yes
Also this is my first monsie hunter game and I gotta say it's super fun so far. I definitely notice tho how people have been saying it's easy but I don't mind I suppose.
I like heavy bowgun and charge blade the most but lance has been fun and admittedly I haven't tried much else other than during the beta.
I heard that switch axe had a bunch of bugs n thought I'd wait for that to get resolved before I try it
Also hope they'll add layered weapons soon enough
The new mizu horn has earplugsL as a song
And the melody of life for healing
It's actually the perfect horn to use against zoh
man i was in a zoh group with a HH user the other day and my health was just at max all the time i didn't know what was going on
sometimes i'd get a little clipped by a small swipe or whatever and i blink and later i have health again
The mizu horn also has a song that increases how much a healing heals you
It's honestly a great horn for "get in there and fight because I will not let you fall"
The soap fox music is incredible, it seems
Heal buff, mass high end heal, smaller heal songs, earplugs that make even zoh sound like asmr, and still decent damage
If you have the horn as a backup secondary I'd say get mizu horn instead of zoh
Zoh is fine, mizu is STRONK
Who would win
Artificial god capable of wiping out an entire ecosystem singlehandedly
Soapy instrument
I'm a big fan of the Zoh horn for the healing bubble and good songs + good stats
Combined with the Zoh 4pc set bonus and Recovery Up 3 you can passively heal your entire health bar in a little over 20 seconds
the zoh horn is pretty good, it's got a great range of buffs, and I like combining it with the horn that extends already existing songs
play all the buffs on the zoh horn then switch and keep all the songs going with a big plays
I just kinda love the mizu horn
I've heard it's really good for water element so I get to farm for that now
Yeah! It's a really strong water element horn, and has a tone of great stuff
Honestly I find it very useful for Apex/Zoh fights because of earplugs L

this channel is excellent
has english subtitles, and follows varios things around and sees what they do
and makes ecology/sociology comments and speculation
Crikey, it's Nigel Thornberry!
does anyone have any tips on how to farm high tier armor spheres
i just feel the exchange rate is crazy on all these
melting down 7 arkvelds for plus 4 defense on my hat
my bad nata
Nah, seems fair
So far I've gotten by with just upgrading my rarity 6 and 7 pieces until they have the same defense as base rarity 8
more efficient in terms of spheres per point of defense
...man do I miss World's quest system
Half the time when I try to join a hunt in Wilds it just gives me a "Quest's full, sorry" error
It had more of an indicator of if a quest was full though, since it gave a list of everyone in the quest
Admittedly I did play World long, long after its heyday, so there were a lot less people watching like vultures to instantly snap up any quests
It's definitely more of a population issue than a system issue, since if you try to join a quest around the same time as another 10 people will mean most get rejected
Aye
I just wish it was easier to tell if the quest has filled up
On a brighter note
I think I may be turning into a Hammerbro
Oh?
This thing is significantly more fun than I gave it credit for
Especially with how easily you can just go
"Durhurhur, you don't get to play, actually" to the monsters
YAY FOR BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA AND CONCUSSIONS
play with a paralysis hammer for double the "no you stop moving now"
Regrettably, my favorite hammer is the Arkveld one
Did TU1 have layered weapons or is that still down the pipeline?
Still down the line
I mean, Wilds does tell you how many people are already in the quest tho, just not their names.
Doesn't feel like it matters 95% of the time, I'll try to join a quest with 1/4 members posted 0 minutes ago and not get in due to the quest being full
Yeah that's been my issue
Especially with anything that has a gem reward
You try to join it, 1/4 players, 0 minutes, oops, all full
I'm just saying that that's not a change from World
As other have said, it doesn't have anything to do with the quest system itself, it's just because there are vastly more players in Wilds atm
I know, doesn't make it not annoying
I agree with you there lol
Going back to "you don't get to play", that's why Paralysis is my go to for CB
constant para, stun, and knock down goes hard
That's what I do on my artian hunting horn also lol. Slugger 3 + Paralysis Attack 3
The thing is, I feel like for CB at least, you don't even need those skills, so you can just run more damage instead
I absolutely don't need them for horn, but it's funny as fuck
And no amount of DPS can buy good comedy
I would use paralysis but I like having a challenge
That and all the CBs I like don't have paralysis
about to try and farm for the uraagan armor in world
looks at its requirements
Yeah im not grinding out a 3% drop rate gem in high rank
thing for horn is that it feels kinda fair for para and slugger because you don't have block and have such long animations for stuff that personally I get vindictive
Pain
Suffering even
On the bright side, you can rest in the solace of knowing that armor would've just immediately gotten outclassed by MR kit, so ultimately you saved yourself some time
well, not necessarily immdiately, im taking my time
Remember it's 3% per each thing that can drop it
So head break, tail carve, 3 body carve chances, and all the rewards
Functionally that 3% is a lot higher than it looks
I carved two faux stones out from one zoh
Just now
one from the tail one from the main body
okay thats a little better
you can also swap a wyverian print for it at the melder
there's usually a gold print available in the limited bounties every week unless a seasonal event is on
gold prints legitimately saved my sanity when i was working my way up through HR and MR in World
What do you guys do for armor spheres? I find myself running out of them ever since I started playing multiple builds.
You can smelt em up at Azuz
arkveld hunts
craft them
save hunts with gems
zoh shia now as well
highest value per part
😔 my least fav fight in the whole game is tempered arkveld,
its a good fight im just a scrub for this in particular
I feel ya. I tend to run harder fights on SnS because it's so defensively busted.
i do too i just find the timing on the whips with the visual effects hard to perfect block
i just got the max level jin dahaad sns i liked how it flips around
Flail is so cool. I hope we get more unique sns models soon
ive loved the unique models in this game hammers that are axes longswords that are bonesaws, so good
Gimme that Gun Hammer
Yes?
Neat
Teostra weak to ice, Lunastra weak to water
You'd think they'd both be weak to Water and resist Ice
lotta fire monsters are weak to ice
lot of stuff in general is weak to ice tbh
it comes with a lot of the megafauna being reptilian
Shit you're right
No wonder Ice is such an effective element, we mostly fight big ol lizards
EXCEPT FOR THIS FUCKER
don't talk shit about Legiana
I will talk all the shit about Legiana
I don't have Iceborne so I don't know about Shrieking, but Legiana is maybe my favorite monster up there with Odogaron. If you get hit, it's because you didn't dodge an attack, not because of a random hip check.
plus it just looks extremely cool.
Legiana always kind of looked oddly plastic-y to me
I will agree it is very cool
I hate ||the fact shrieking is a tag team with another legiana||
it's supposed to be like a ray.
So it's very rubbery
Matching the theme of above-ground underwater-yness that the Coral Highlands has
tru tru, maybe it's just somethin' about how skinny it is.. i'unno. nifty armor though
I do quite enjoy Legiana armor
...but utlimately I prefer my beloved Alatreon set
Tight as FUCK
That or good ole Frostfang
(Can you tell what my favorite longsword is)
Stygian Zinogre LS
It's the coolest shit I have seen in my LIFE
When you get any level of Spirit Gauge active the entire blade gets wreathed in that red lightning
The regular Zinogre LS does that too, but with regular blue lightning
Welcome to the Kushala experience
Hope you brought your Rocksteady and some poison bombs with you
MR Tempered Kushala somehow manages to be worse
Don't fight him unless you reeeeeeeeeeeeally want that layered MR kushala armor
was olivia always wearing gore magala gauntlets or i wonder did fabius give them to her?
She made em herself
i guess she coulda fought one offscreen but its interstng to see the outfit evolve
She knows the meta is "Give yourself Super Bubonic COVID to get a big crit boost for just playing the game"
im trying out a latent power based build rn based on getting hit and free meal
Latent Power is really good
I'm debating if I should unslot my Antivirus charm for a Latent Power one
...though making it easier to cure Frenzy and bumping the +15 affinity to +25 is really fucking good
Underpowered? Nah, these skills are just off-meta. Latent Power and Speed Eating makes a great combination though. モンスターハンターワイルズ

im running this
i honestly like getting lost in the sauce so a build that is predicated on getting hit for extra crit and free heals really feels good i definitly feel the damage
That seems stupid fun, good lord
i felt like hunts were taking a bit too long like i would not cart but start tuning out near the end but its cut it down a good bit, i also have a few top tier weapons now
i couldnt decide which weapon to main so collecting all my favs is gonna take forever
but im not gonna complain about having to hunt more monsters in a game with this name
Yeah idk if I’m gonna go for the archtempered version of him lol
There's little reason to tbh
Beyond just getting layered Guild Cross armor if you happen to really like it for whatever reason
Might try eventually just to say I did
Which is fair, and tbh I do recommend at least getting the Guild Cross pants, they're a really versatile piece of fashion
And the Guild Cross circlet just looks nice in general
I need more thicc bois in Wilds
Gravios is great
I love Gravios
but I NEED more thicc bois
I want em chunky
Chatacabra is pretty thicc
no that's the thing, first monster, then a high rank monster
I need more
look I just need dodo
What's that one from Worlds that is a giant tar monster that rolls around covering itself in bones?
That seems PERFECT for the tar, rock and bones area
Radobaan?
YES
was genuinely flabbergasted not to find radobaan in oilwell basin
That's not 'baan
my man's evolved entirely to live in an environment that just has a lot of bones lying around and nowhere else
You mean Q'ronar?
I have no idea who that is
nah, it's uragaan
an explosives one
older then radobaan, although they're explicitly related
(art by Aeflus on deviant art)
gen 3 I think?
and good ol shovel face Ukanlos (second art also by Aeflus)
My beloved "flying" wyverns
would love ukanlos yeah
I think he could come ye
I have given up hope for zamtrios
Also I love that both Akantor and Ukanlos are basically only opposed by elders (also calling them black/white god is just cool as heck)
I would still love Radobaan I just posted the wrong picture
Rado def was neat
my biggest wish for an expansion monster is (as stated some other times as well tihi) Agnaktor
Cool leviathan burying in lava and rock (including corkscrew drilling into the ceilling), after swimming his skin is v vulnerable and hardens over time when it doesnt use hits lava beam and stays unborrowed. Good move variety, good rythm
its such a stellar and magnificent monster
Agnaktor's a fun one. I miss the clak clak clak
Its just such a fun and well designed monster (I will never fucking forgive lavasioth for existing and taking its world spots disregarding the fact they didnt do leviathians in world. Agnaktor is superior to lavasioth in literally ever regard)
Fun fact in GU high rank you can get every part you need to craft Akantor gear by completing the subquest and ending via it.
So people could just spam that if they needed Akantor stuff
I CONCUR, FRIEND
WE MUST BRING BACK DRILL LASER CROC
When I played Gen (before Ult was in the West) I realized I could kill a Deviljho early by exploiting it spawning in a standard small monster quest when it invaded and got the LS that way.
Oh mbmb
lolol
Monster Hunter Wilds set builder and calculator.
We're doin mushrooms and fighting lizards in the woods
I'm coupling it with the war conga that has slugger and duration decos. And the sns is paralysis with para decos. And paired up with the atk/affinity bubbles the whole thing feels absolutely diabolical.
nice
I love this big dumb idiot. That one spot in the Recess where it's a long shallow slope and he goes pinballing around was so much fun. My group called him Jay Leno because of that gigantic chin. Fond memories of accidentally triggering the sleeptoads and watching death careen down toward you
Had a MEATY tail cut too
Ah S+ tail cut, can't deny
i want a mizu arkveld turf war where arkveld tries the same squeeze he does on everyone and mizu just pops out like a bar of soap foimp
I simply want a rotten vale in every monhun game
I love spooky skeleton poison swamp
Those hermit crabs that use monster skulls for armor would have been perfect
Critical element
Critical damage means 1.25 from affinity not "critical strikes" on wounds right
Correct
Sick
no
not on critical element
it doesn't make your elemental damage capable of critting
instead, it applies an entirely separate damage bonus when you crit
which in wilds is 1.15x
not 1.25x like a standard crit
(if you weren't actually asking about critical element, i apologize)
Oh dang I forgot the modifier
No I am it's why I said crit element thankyiu
its just on my gore sword inherently and i have a latent power build rn so i wanted to figure out what it was giving me
rathian gear is just all bangers to me they havent missed
watching a vid about rompopolo its cool that it has crustacean crushing back teeth in the mouth modeled even though nobody would ever see it during gameplay
Here's a funky question:
If you had to introduce a new element to Monster Hunter, what would it be? Element, status, whatever. You and the monsters get it of course.
Give me black holes
Maybe an infection style debuff. Like it can hop from monster to monster and the more affected by it the more the DOT is
Turf wars would help propagate it across the map
Kinda incentives you to kite what you're fighting to the doshuguma minding its own business
maybe bleed, with the new wound system iti would like do more per wound you left open,? to have the tradeoff of not hitting them for the extra damage and stun
and like be a short lasting fast tick poison you have to reapply more
Ooh the more they bleed the quicker any rage ends because they go anemic
theres already some monsters who could give bleed stuff, odo, that one elder from rise
And we have bleed pods
Going back to black holes gravity would be cool I'm struggling to think of how they'd implement it
But specifically being able to knock monsters around or pull them exactly where you want them without kiting or mounting
Peak🙏
i think that would work better as a put down thing liike a trap maybe i find it hard to understan how thaat would work as a weapon proc
like you set iti down and they ar dragged towards it and then it lets them go a sort of anti trap
i can think of lots of usecases
Ye the dragging them back to where you want them would be siiick
A black hole opens up and rips you toward the precarious crystal spire
Big uhoh
maybe a gravity thing for status would be it builds up to proc and then sets their animations at like 0.95 speed as they are weighed down
still damaging the same but easier to dodge or parry
Mmhm a slow down was my other thought, that'd be cool for lock downs
I promised my time to Minecrafters and thats a shame cause I've been geeked to play monster hunter all day
or yeah on that infection thing maybe a neopteron swarm thing like an bug swarm infestation status seems very monster hunter
Yeeees! That rules
I was thinking about Saryn from Warframes kit (because I'm always thinking about Saryn)
im not familiar
