We also don't really see anything in terms of big civs in monhun games as they tend to take place in small villages so i don't really think of monhun civs in terms of being particularly big

It's not any one thing. But... i find in general, Elden Ring and the rest of the sous likes are very janky. there is... ap rofusion of stuff. Which results in a lot of very shallow movepools. For every really good, legendary fight, there's a bunch folks always hate - and it's almost always that the You vs Slightly Bigger Person fights are really good, while the You Vs Cinematic monster turnsi nto "Ankle hacking simulator" (Fire Giant, the various dragons)

Elden Ring notably needed an Editor, in the liteary sense - someone to smack them over the head and go "no, stop that, you need to polish this ocntent, not keep adding more"

Mechincally, i find the skill system of Mosnter Hunter notably more elegant than the very boring stat system of the Sousgames. the ui for casting spells is just flat out indefenisably bad - it was bad in Dark souls, and it's only fgotten worse as you've gotten more and more choices

I find a lot of the diffucltyo f hte souls games comes form the fact you're fighting the UI, fighting the games being janky, fighting the fact that because it throws so many otpiopns at you any given expeirnece can be wildly differnet on diffuclt level to an abusrd degree

andc often you're also fighting flatout unfair things - see the hitboxes on the final fight of the DLC, or Gaius.

Hell, Monster hunter has always had less iframes on it's roll than dark souls, just as a very baisc thing

Had like 50fps at lowest graphics but my pc is also like, barely above lowest system recs so that's kinda not a valid complaint

i5-9600kf cpu and a 2060 gpu so i already knew my pc would not be up to par

the answer is still "this is low rank, they are still trying to get the new players to develop good habits and the long windup is to make sure the new players see them"

too easy for you? good, blitz through and eventually it gets hard

Also not a bad idea to redo a couple fights in case you need to relearn some muscle memory cause they changed a button on you

Because monster atacks are always slow as molasses in low rank

with silly long windups

They get faster and faster as you go up ion ranks

Till you get the infamous "That great jaggi has eaten way too many drugs" levels of master rank speed

But it's like, a thing. Most of the counter moves you had in Rise were useless in low rank because the mosnters werent aggressive enough to make it work

Like for the swaxe offset, in the beta I was missing because I kept starting it too late

Whereas last night against Chatacabra I was missing because I kept starting it too early

I'm glad it got sped up, but it's a timing adjustment 😛
