in the older maps the desert section had more land
but ive split it up more
the only elder scrolls game i've even played is Skyrim-
but uh
in other news...
ouhh evil character in the works for my campaign
@proud osprey old map here before i split stuff up
it is NOT morrowind ;-;
oooo
we must know how this goes
We will know tomorrow!
Next Time on: Odyssey of the Dragonlords! (Spoilers for the module ahead)
||Helios has revealed himself to be an Ancient Gold Dragon, the one who slaughtered our brave hero's village after his death was prophesized at the hands of Anthromaxes! And yet, he survived. Now that he has broken the oaths of guest hospitality, and has invited the wrath of the furies, can our heroes endure until they arrive? Or will they wind up being Helios' final meal?||
this was praise, for you see, your honour, the elder scrolls iii: morrowind

cool map all round
ack-
i get very defensive over things like that, lmao
i like the features
this map is solid
very this kind of map
like big SPLAT landmass with loads of room to roam
promise of a sweeping campaign but bottomless enough to support perpetual low level adventures instead
thats the goal! its got a Monster Hunter setting so i need a diverse ecosystem for the different beasties
my players are level 7 currently
I leveled them up a little too fast at the start, haha
Could also be where the Nail used to be in Glorantha.
Nope, it doesn't
It has generic suggestions for short/long term effects from mental stress
Screencap plz
my group are figuring out alternative crit options and man the perkins crit is a nightmare because players don't realize that enemies can crit
we have agreed on "halfling" crits, where any 1s or 2s may be rerolled once. this ensures a lack of PC souping and a healthily boosted but still varied damage pool
fascinating
i think at all times the dmg should basically be a 95% random tables and 5% concise and actionable advice
maybe 90-10
anyway whatta hell do i run
the party, at level 7, just murk'd a cr 21
granted it was nerfed but YEESH
however
one player got some new armor and the other realized their weapon was useless
and they just reunited with a Gnoll they met called Fresh Pine Needles
they gave him their armor and weapon
Pine Needles' old token vs his new one
YEEN
also working on one of the BBEGs
make him a Sidekick
that's basically the point of the mechanic, to give players meaningful rewards for getting attached to glup shitto NPCs
Pine Needles is a Sidekick :]
a level 7 Warrior sidekick
Nice
made this in like 30 minutes
ran a session for two of my players since one may not be available for Friday
it went well
ya know
i just really like the idea of a beholder who's just really nice but akward
lad would be lonely cause ya know
he's a beholder
he would also raise cows
Never heard of it before admittedly. Is it good?
you're looking for a well adjusted spectator (next to impossible) or a free mindwitness (tragic existence without monastic flumphs)
[Reply to:](#1161699276234178560 message) i just really like the idea of a beholder who's just really nice but akward
people laugh at flumphs for being the skunk pancake of the underdark but they're actually vital to the underdark maintaining even a semblance of a thriving ecosystem

I remember going through a cycle of devaluing D&D dungeons over time until eventually I just skipped them. But then I tried tracking time while crawling with Dungeon Turns, like OSR games do, and it changed everything. Suddenly I was no longer bored crawling through dungeons, I was having a great time!

I'll be fr with you all, chat
one of my players is a Murderhobo
but
he does it so fucking well
Like, he isnt always just killing everything, but he's an evil servant of Bhaal
He murdered a beloved NPC in secret and one of my players just had an emotional moment because of it. Now Elora [the character] is PISSED and wants to confront Alothorn
I am so blessed to have a Murderhobo that actually roleplays
you can make anything a bhaalspawn because that's what bhaal would fuck
my new players are a neutral evil paladin and chaotic “good” cleric
shits poppin
you're in luck
it seems
yo i had an idea for a magical item
necklace of identity theft
you first put it on a different person to "imprint" an identity
the original loses their identity transforming into another creature
when you then put on the necklace yourself then you become that person but are mentally still yourself
could be useful for a green dragon
I’m digging that new pugilist class
what?
They added the Sterling Vermin Pugilist homebrew to DnD Beyond recently I believe
dunno what that means
cool
chat i want to fuckign play some solo d&d
I got an oldass ADnD solo adventure my uncle gave me
You are a Dwarf who must retake a dwarven enclave from a Fire Breathing Serpent
Just you
dwarf rambo
dwarf rambo would be more like a dwarf who came back from fighting a war against goblins and being harassed by other dwarves but still
Dwambo
OSE?
oldschool essentials
Yep go ahead
Im pretty sure it has rules for that
i wanna build a world
I wish there was a way to get Unarmored Defense without having to dip into Monk or Barbarian
Three levels of Paladin for the Genie subclass
Three levels of Sorcerer for the Draconic Subclass
lizardfolk?
Tortuga
Bard 3 for dance
There's more in third party supplements
First one that comes to mind is the bulwark fighter from grim hollow
we buildin up the HISTORY of my world gang
figured my new campaign i started last week must take place in the past of my other existing campaign
someone gimme a year between 600 and 800 AG
wait
between
600 and 760
this has to be before the birth of King Carles II
i want there to be some kind of conflict brewing for the imperial throne of the cadric empire
649 was the first number that came to mind
epic
someone said
that a jokey homebrew item i made is "great fridge horror"
and i was like ?????
fridge mimic
The magical potion of reanimation
Potion,legendary
This black and white vial contain a viscous, golden liquid.
When this potion is ingested by a dead creature, they will immediately return to life.
A creature returned to life like this will suffer various effects. They gain regeneration, regaining 30 hit points at the start of their turn. If they are at zero hit points, they regain no hit points and instantly stabilize. The regeneration resumes after the creature is stable for 3 turns.
If the creature is slain, they will return to life in 1d10+5 hours as long as at least 1/10th of their body remains intact.
If the creature loses any limbs, they will be regrown by the next dawn. They will also instantly reattach any lost limbs they touch.
If the creature's charisma Is higher than 8,it becomes 8. every time the creature returns to life, they will permanently lose one of their ideals, bonds,or personality traits.
Additionally, the creature cannot cast divine magic, nor benefit from any positive effect from it,including healing or ressurection.
what like forever
are you informed of what fridge horror means because i only just learnt it a few weeks ago
[Reply to:](#1161699276234178560 message) someone said
that a jokey homebrew item i made is "great fridge horror"
and i was like ?????
No
ah! so there's this thing called "fridge logic" which is named after part of a hitchcock interview. it's basically when the audience is comfortable with a premise when they're viewing media, but then question the logic much later after viewing.
there's variations on it. fridge horror in particular occurs when the logical implications are particularly messed up
[Reply to:](#1161699276234178560 message) No
Oh
I dunno how the joke potion is that but I understand now
Thank you
the same as any healing magic in d&d: its applications for torture. this potion's particular downsides give it an extra edge in that department. it can also be used for the production of animal (or i suppose creature) products
[Reply to:](#1161699276234178560 message) Oh
I dunno how the joke potion is that but I understand now
Thank you
i made some illustration for my game

Also dont tell my party, but in my campaign i'm planning on killing off the DMPC they've got
just for the record, Pine Needles is a Sidekick Gnoll [hence the "DMPC" term] that the party chose to keep around. Pine Needles can be asked to leave at any time
Yet here we are, with a chainmail wearing gnoll with a gunlance
How will you explain the action to ur party members
I’m curious on how I can do smth similar if I ever need to
explain the action? elaborate
Ye like will you just kill the dmpc
As in like randomly attack
Or how will you do it
Not just outright, no
I'm planning on the group fighting one of the big bad evil guys, who will have an artifact like the Hand of Vecna or something. During this fight, Pine Needles [the DMPC] will do his usual thing in the fight, but on the vampire's turn he'll just, yk, cast a spell that'd most likely kill him
things like power word kill or the hand's ability to turn your bones into jelly
Oh wait so you’re the dm?
I am the dm, yes
I thought you were a player
no no, lmao
That’s why I asked like how you would do it
Yeah no i'm not a player, lmao
I wish
What if you make pine needles sacrifice themselves so that the party survives or smth
it's either gonna be that or a show of power, yea
i'm looking at giving him a feat at level 8 [next level] that'll let him create total-cover against AOE abilities
since from the looks of it Pine Needles is becoming a party tank
pine needles is dead
the bbeg threatened them not to do something, they did it, he cast timestop then finger of death'd the gnoll
now they just have an empty shell of a gnoll zombified by the spell
d&d went so well today
as a level 2 druid
is there a wikdshape to help my friends fall 90 feet
witouth everybody dying
Giant wolf spider
Make webs
Mechanically speaking, that's not supported by the rules, though you might be able to persuade the DM
if you are a moon druid then a giant spider
also dnd went well yesterday
hell yea
What’s ur guys’s opinion on switching the main stat for a class (mostly regarding casters) for example a sorcerer that uses int or wisdom or something similar
misses the point of that class imo
[Reply to:](#1161699276234178560 message) What’s ur guys’s opinion on switching the main stat for a class (mostly regarding casters) for examp…
a sorcerer channels their magic through sheer willpower
clerics and druids channel it through their worldly connections
wizards do it through the accumulation of a doctorate level of bookish learning
the three brain stats are a reflection of the contexts of those roles
the thing about those restrictions is they encourage a player to fit into the role
for a good player they can even think creatively with those restrictions, similar to a school student who has to paint with only two colors, or write a song without prepositions
this is my opinion only, i don't speak for anyone else here and would love to hear other perspectives
had an idea for a beholder dungeon that i got from an old batman cartoon
the idea is the beholder in question split its mind into different pieces
and one of these pieces is the beholder's voice of reason who well had no voice at all for many years and doesnt wanna be whole again for that reason
each split would have a different form which doesnt necesserily have to be the beholder's shape
how's that idea?
so im playing Gunpowder as an armorer in yet another server [i love him okay he is skrungly] and, whilst he's starting with Scale Mail, im gonna give him Plate armor later since this server has him as an Armorer
he looks pretty fucking good
Gnolls are among the most horrifying and evil D&D monsters! Wield their savagery and horror to thrill and frighten your 5e players!

I'm thinking about how 3.5 had a psionic power called control body. What it was intended for was psychically puppeteering an enemy. But what people instead used it for was manifesting it on themselves and getting +Int to AC, attack, and damage. Then they'd use solicit psicrystal to have their little buddy concentrate on it, letting them manifest powers as well as moving and full attacking.
I don't think it was anything like dominant, but the Dreamscarred Press folks, when they ported psionics to PF1e, decided to close that loophole sadly.

@frozen hound try here
I didn't know this thread existed
Thx for bringing this to my attention
But my problem still remains
Anybody lend a hand with something?
I made a homebrew bard subclass and id like professional opinions to make sure its balanced and not overpowered
Send its deets
Ill weigh stuff in
Idea needing your evaluation
College of Thundersong
A bard the shirks the ideas of rules and traditions such as elequently speaking, smooth talking, grace or finesse. Instead they strive to have their songs and voices be heard as loudly and as violently as possible.
3rd level
- Bonus proficiencies: upon taking this subclass you gain proficiency the Intimidation skill as well as martial melee weapons
- Bonus Spell: You learn the Thaumaturgy cantrip
- Thunderous Onslaught: at 3rd level you can amplify your music and voice into a powerful and empowering solo that rattles the battlefield. As a bonus action you can spend one of your bardic inspiration dice to add the number rolled to the weapons damage as thunder damage so when you successfully hit a creature with a melee weapon attack durring the one minute, you may also choose to hit every creature of your choise within a 10ft radius centered on you with thunder damage, the damage is equal to your bardic inspiration dice, this feature may only be used once per turn. The radius increases as you increase your bard level, 15ft at 6th level, 30ft at 14th
6th level
- Mosh pit: Violence is just a part of the performance, and you are the maestro. At 6th level you can spend an action to make a Charisma (Preformance) check contested by a Wisdom (Insight) from creatures of your choice within 60ft of you, only a failure they are under a charmed compulsion to target you instead of anything else, attacks against any creature other than you have disadvantage. Creatures may make a wisdom saving throw to end the charm or if they leave the charm range. You can spend a bonus action to maintain the Preformance for up to a minute or end it early (no action required by you). This Preformance can be heard from 300 ft to a 1 mile away, your choice
- Rock on Dudes: While Mosh Pit is active, you may spend a bardic dice to give you and allied creatures within a 15ft radius of you temporary HP equal to the number rolled plus your charisma modifier. Additionally if you are damaged in any way you may spend a reaction to gain resistance to the type od damage taken until the start of your bext turn, if more than one source of damage is taken you may only resist one
level 14
- Thunderstruck: your song is so loud the gods themselves have turned their attention. You gain the following benefits to Thunderous Onslaught
you can add lightning damage to your melee weapon attack equal to your bard level
- You also gain the improvements to your Mosh Pit ability
Hostile that successfully hit you with a melee attack must make a strength saving throw taking lighting damage equal to your charisma modifier and being launched backwards 10 ft in a straight line, on a success they take half as much damage and aren't launched back
- You also gain the ability to cast the spells "Chain lighting" and "Call lighting" without expending a spell slot, this doesn't count to your spells known. After you cast a spell in this way you can not do so again until you finish a long rest
@dapper fulcrum
I see some promise but also its a bit all over the place formatting wise
3rd level feature, i assume that the extra damage done with each weapon hit is different from the aoe thunder damage on everyone else?
6th level feature, when do the targets of the taunt ability make the saving throw, end of their turn? Also as a charm effect it balances itself
The temp hp gain doesnt have a stated action cost, and the reaction damage resistance is too much (not in the imbalance sense but more in the making it too frontloaded effect wise sense
14th level, extra damage is fine ig because you have no extra attack, the improvement to mosh pit doesnt have any cost to it so i would veto it. Same with the extra slot for the lightning spells. For the 14th level feature you can just add those two spells to the subclass spell list for free
"YOU'VE BEEN THUNDERSTRUCK"

working on a map muehehe
nice place
i had a fun idea for a character team up
druid who turns into a big creature
preferably a dinosaur
and an artificer cannoneer
the artificer summons the gun on the druids back whilst he is turned into a dinosaur
ive run out of location ideas
bleh
the night isles
make it an island formed from volcanic activity with a singular big ass volcano, a petrified forest and a contaminated lake
mmm big bads
Was doing some poking around into Yuan-Ti lore. Apparently they retire at a certain age?
Like, work hard to have enough of a nest egg to just make themselves a walled estate and some slaves, which feels weird
damn
that is fun
eventually they just get tired of the "ohh i want power thing"
that is very fun
Starting up a new campaign for my group, going to run them through a fond childhood adventure: dragon quest 8
a dnd character
finds a noita wand
we making it out of the Elder's Recess with this one frfr
we reaching the Dragontorch with this one
[One of my mini baddies if my players continue the Helix questline]
Hell yeah
<3
what the hell is a mega dungeon?
looks nice enough
This is going to sound like an oversimplification
But it's a very big dungeon
Usually
It's intended to be the main focus of a campaign, like with multiple forays into it and trips out to regroup, sell and buy gear, etc
Often GMs of my old days would have a dungeon they run for multiple groups and it would be represented as different trips into the same giant dungeon over time
I have gotten very rare magic items before i found a +1 Shortsword
funny you lead with sorc which should be a CON class yes it's me the PEDANT
Honestly I’d do sorcerer with con as well
i don’t hate it
you know whats especially funny in dnd?
the fact that you can prep for almost anything and the players will still do something you didn't expect
working on a Nargacuga-folk NPC's token for my campaign
this is a player
somehow i have a feeling this one is the friendliest of your party
oh he really isn't
oh fuck
Evil Bhaal paladin :[
looks like a warhammer chaos champion
fuck that’s good
5e knowers
is there any cool or interesting writing on the game design of Backgrounds before the 2024 playtests?
Darn
If there is i wanna know too
Back when the social media team cared about such things, they held regular interviews with the devs about the design process. Don't remember any about backgrounds though.
Anything on the community reception/analysis end?

let's build a dungeon
LEVEL 1 ROOM ONE
MEASUREMENTS
hmmm
long corridor
6m wide
and 15m long
with columns going the lenght of it
every column is fashioned to look like a woman in a toga
it is designed in an ancient greek fashion
one 3 m wide door at the back
two 3m wide doors opposite of each other
in the middle of the long walls
(extra points if the statues are made to appear as different goddesses
and have bowls beneath them filled with different objects of value as offerings)
(if one steals from the bowls then a trap specifically a fire trap gets activated
next one
also square
9m long
no
9m wide
and 18m long
covered in cobwebs
aswell as wine barrels and cubboards with stuff on them
used to hide
within the room there are two atterkops
they are asleep
if you trigger a web
then they awaken
but the many coverage things in the room can be used to hide
or looted
I now have a difficult decision in my hexploration game. My players have failed their negotiations with Yuan-Ti, and kidnapped one after attacking the negotiation group.
They're concerned that their basecamp is going to be attacked now.
I made a lot and I mean a LOOOOOT of dumb items over the years but
My fave so far is
Awesome shades
Wondrous item,very rare
These dark-lensed glasses inspire unearned confidence. While wearing then, you gain a +4 in charisma,up to a maximun of 24,or if your charisma is below 13,it sets your charisma at 17
While wearing then, you become extremely confident, extroverted, and borderline suicidally reckless.
All effects fade as soon as you take off the spectacles
damn
reminds me of that scp
which is just some shades that cause explosions behind the warer
wearer
session recap pt. 1
so edwin and remi completed the transfer of the trollskull mansion deed and upon visiting the place immediately had a copper mug thrown at remi who walked in. it was the ghost pallas extorted volo into admitting to us was there. anía tipped the bartender haunting the place and he immediately calmed down. remi pulled an entire fucking classroom chalkboard out of their toolbelt and instead of exorcising lif we agreed to hire him back on for the novelty of being an incorporeal bartender
queef and pallas went to the great bookwyrm and pallas left with a bunch of information about astronomy, starmaps, and the history of waterdeep, plus a speculative arcane fiction anthology book full of pulp mag-fi short stories, including one of queef's favorites about a man who dreams of being the captain of a spelljammer waystation positioned next to a wormhole
anía and queef were called to blackstaff tower to speak with vajra safahr, who tasked them with speaking to a diviner about the rancid vibes she dreamed of the night previous. queef brought pallas along and they met hallam who commiserated with queef over the snobbery at the arcane university and offered his divination services in exchange for a bottle of vintage chultan brandy queef had brought from home. lotta scary shit revealed, and it potentially had something to do with the exploitation of a bronze dragon in deepwater harbor
meanwhile, edwin and remi were met by a halfling in charge of the guild of inns, public houses, and taverns, and remi went full asshole businessman in order to make edwin seem like a palatable person to negotiate dues with. remi was later approached by the bbeg who had an absolutely insane recruitment scheme involving five tiefling girls who spend two day shifts just sitting in a barrel all day. remi turned the man down and he gave remi a gun
session recap pt. 2
anía, pallas and queef reported back to vajra, who asked them to investigate the dragon. queef and pallas returned to the arcane university to study. remi continued to assess the manor and formulate a list of refurbishments
on the walk to the dock, anía had a talk with edwin about him transforming into a bear in a non-druid way, and he admitted he had been bitten by a guy he had a fling in the woods with, and they discussed their options after anía made it clear that if this was a problem, she'd have to arrest him, nothing personal. they sailed out to the harbor and anía took a waterbreathing potion and plunged into the harbor, then met zelifarn, a dragon no older in maturity than the dragon equivalent of a 12–13 year old girl. she discussed wanting to walk among the citizens of waterdeep, and anía explained why that wouldn't work, and also gained zelifarn's trust by regaling her with a firsthand experience of the dracorage. anía agreed to have zelifarn advocated for, and promised to find a way to integrate her into waterdhavian society. zelifarn also revealed that there were sharks deep in the harbor with horns on them, which edwin confirmed was a demonic beast thought only to be myth, and that a woman had been traveling down into the depths of the harbor in a large metal box with crablike legs to avoid them
with all of this reported to vajra, she tasked the adventurers with investigating the excommunicated wizard in possession of the Big Crab, thanked the adventurers for their work and also advised anía that she could get anía transferred from the city watch to the newly reestablished griffon cavalry. anía suggested that the dragon ward curse could be lifted and vajra pointed out that the staff responsible was part of the famed dragon's hoard, so anía pledged to work her way up towards finding it. anía and edwin then caught up with pallas and queef, and session ended
A fun little thing I did in our Odyssey of the Dragonlords game
The PCs are on Indigo Island, and have agreed to help the tribes figure out the situation with this evil copper dragon, Ventis
I had them make a group survival roll to try and navigate the dense jungles and such to get where they were going
My plan was to fudge the numbers on a d100 table based on their successes, to see which tribe they met, or if they ran into the dragon's lair
1-30: First tribe
31-60: Second tribe
61-90: Third tribe
91-95: Fake lair
96-100: Real Lair
They rolled a 93
So they find this cave with acid marks all around the entrance, bones and armor scattered around. They got excited and walked right in, finding a bunch of coins in a small hoard near the end.
After a few rolls because they were getting suspicious, they heard the grinding of stone behind them as the dragon moved a large boulder over the entrance to trap them in
The dragon then mocked them for being dumbasses and falling for such a simple trap, greedy little piggies that they are. She'll come back when they've been weakened by starvation.
Also the coins were an illusion, not real money
i have a feeling the group will somehow build a trap for the dragon
They elected to simply use their Teleportation Circle to get back to their boat
After realizing that they had no means of moving said boulder, as it was very large and heavy
And now they're eager to try and trap the dragon yes, but they gotta figure out what's going on with the tribesfolk first
the hardest thing for them right now
Is wrangling the brass dragon wyrmling who's recently gotten his growth spurt into a young brass dragon
and so he's in his rebellious teenage phase
"Don't tell a dragon what to do"
"I'll fly if I want to!"
"I'll just put them to sleep!"
"I'll only eat them a little bit..."
the wyrmling's egg was given to a tribe of lizardfolk from a god who's been trying to corrupt metallic dragons to be evil, they beat up the evil lizardfolk and rescued the wyrmling. Since he was so young, still, they were able to get him to be a good lad
and now he's a young lad
They also have a silver dragon egg that's soon to hatch
damn
the module is pretty dragon-heavy
securing dragon eggs both to help them and also to un-evil them is part of the plot
they fought an ancient gold dragon who violated the laws of the land to avoid death and engage in a loophole to his own benefit
was pretty funky
a green dragon is central to one of the epic path backstories
dragons all around
i see
the paladin subclass for odyssey basically makes you a dragonrider
Oath of the Dragonlord
One of my faovrite bits is that there's the leader of an antagonist faction who has a silver dragon gifted to him by his god
He is DEEPLY in love with this dragon
This dragon does not reciprocate.
I've been portraying it as the most doomed of romantic endeavors
They found his poetry for her and it's REALLY GOOD but she's just genuinely like "What a loser lmao"
"I entertain his advances because he brings me gifts." is basically how she handles it
damm
poor guy
hope he does find someone who loves him back though
also could you send me a link so i can see the book?

That's the player's guide with stuff about the setting and the class options
i recently had an idea for an aberrant mind sorcerer
the full book with the full adventure path is obviously paid
one who is in truth an eldritch horror but unknowing of it
makes sense
the idea is that he is a bit weird butg ood at heart
good
thing is
as said before he's an eldritch horror of sorts in the form of a human
perhaps he's a fragment of an eldritch being trying to understand humanity
oh yeah i fucking forgot
in order to get business stuff sorted the party had to get some of their legitimate salvage converted to gold, and anía introduced the party to the gold dragon bank, and in typical alex fashion they gave anía's regular banker a boyfriend for the two of them to smalltalk about, because waterdeep is incredibly queer and there's not a single cishet player nor pc in the group
murias convinced remi and edwin to open a business account with the bank, and when pallas asked "what's a cheque" queef replied "a piece of paper that says "trust me, i'm rich". never trust a bank, pally"
the whole session was packed full of players having their own little moments together that showed off who the pcs are and what their dynamics are with each other
oh! pallas now has clothes that aren't stitched together hand-me-downs, and unfortunately the look is heavily inspired by anía, much to queef's dismay. anía hasn't seen the new fit yet but chances are she's going to have a stroke when she does
edwin also bought replacement clothes for the ones he shredded when he first transformed and remi has offered to make them magical so when he does turn it's sort of a feral paddington situation
Mals tried telling one of the people in voice chat about session at its request tonight, and every time Anía came up, the person started talking over Mals to lambast Anía for being a bad creation because I made her a cop show cop to stand out from how useless the City Watch largely is in Waterdeep. It wasn't a nice feeling having a random person shit on my choices as if I, a victim of police brutality, don't know how shitty real life police are.
Mals and I have both independently suffered greatly at the hands of the New Zealand Police, and I shouldn't have to pre-emptively clarify our anti-cop stance nor traumadump about their inaction resulting in my homelessness nor the times they've beaten us and in one case tortured Mals just to tell someone about a Dungeons and Dragons PC. Absolute clown behaviour.
it wasn't really a big deal to me, though if you're uncomfortable it's pretty easy in pnet to simply not interact with people you find unpleasant
Fair enough.
You’ll be right at home, then
Belt of dwarvenmean
No-purpose tool
Bit of an odd question, but what like... class would Kai'sa League of Legends be? My heart is saying either Fighter or Warlock
My party now has two dragons accompanying them
A Young Brass Dragon and a Silver Dragon Hatchling
very nice
that can only end well
and very bad for anyone with negative intent towards the little ones
what gets me about young dragons is that they're the size of a horse and have been pushed out of the nest by their parent at the mental maturity of a 12 year old

Funny alignment of the discord vc interface with a reference image during session tonight resulting in a few funny pictures
yo chat, i got some ruins of a city in my world. wondering what kinda fight would cause the city to fall this way.
im thinking either two elder dragons or just a whole army
Secret third option, magical calamity
Dragons fighting for prospective territory would be cool too
in my world's lore there was a major war between demons, devils and other evils against humanity and dragons :>
though some were corrupted over time :>
Hey folks, running a game for a small shop's ticketed event. Honestly just DM'ing for the love of the game, so when they asked if I had a fee I just said 'let's talk about that if you want me running games for you on the regular.'
But I realized I have no sense of scope for that. What would you ask to run 3 hour sessions?
a living wage, simple as that
my old gm (also my first gm) ran games at ten bucks a head despite never having dm'd in his life. our games ran about three hours and it took a few months for a dedicated to group to solidify when he was just running his games as oneshots
he wasn't even working for the lgs when he started. they took him on as a full time employee later, though
im not even quoting avantris, i actually always thought of that question
probably the same as the kenku
are they a mammal
then i think they wont be affected by capsaicin specifically
probably
I'm gonna take a guess and say that this is not a mammal.

Tbf they’re not even birds either. They’re elemental related
Air elemental, yeah.
i guess
is magic missile a good spell to get for the bard at lvl 10 from magical mysteries?
its a level 1 spell
anyways im taking suggestions!
definitely not magic missile I think
assuming this is 2014 and not 2024, in which case I don't know but wouldn't think it's a good call
it's also contextual to what you need
if you need damage I think I'd just take Eldritch Blast or Spiritual Weapon
They are, as of 5.5E
Aarakocra hail from the elemental plane of air and are classified as elementals
Unless it's for a player, in which case it's a humanoid
i meant kenku with they're not elemental
magic missile is good depending on the circumstances
Not the best in terms of damage output, but it's reliable
If you're fighting lots of enemy casters, it's amazing for breaking concentration
Sometimes you just need some guaranteed damage
its what i was thinking
ok ok
here is my spell list
i understand im lacking on dmg
considering the party has it covered(the dmg)
do you think this would be ok?
accepting suggestions on what to change/switch around
i was considering getting gylph of warding as well
also still considering getting something else instead of magic missle
Yo buddy how can I help?
Hey skully always happy to help
Control bard is good, do you have a subclass yet?
Honestly the spells look good what do you need advice on?
i have college of eloquence
i wanted to also make like a linguist character
you get universal speech in this subclass
which is why i didnt get the language spell
faaair
this is what i wanted to know actually! if the spells seemed good
i got Find greater steed and magic missile from magical secrets
and i wasnt so sure about magic missiles
i figured guaranteed damage would come in really handy
you think its a good choice for the perk?
Magic missile is a great one because you can up cast it for even more damage that you can also choose to spread around
I don't know if it's still as good as it used to be but Sleep is always a good spell to look into
specially as a control bard
in 5e it would knock people asleep from the lowest health first in an area. While this means it doesn't do damage, it does tend to knock out people who are squishy first. These tend to be the ones fighting your allies, or the wizards
So honestly, you're great, but look at Sleep as well because that's my tip for something you might want to grab
Sleep got changed unless this is a 2014 spell list
What's it like now?
@dapper fulcrum is this the current version or the 2014 version?
2014
yeah seems we are using 2014 version
just not really sure what to remove for it if i were to get it for myself
With the old version of sleep, it's better at earlier levels
Later on, it just doesn't keep up with enemy hp, even with upcasting
I'm actually a big fan of slow for control
Doesn't have friendly fire, has a large aoe, and doesn't care about charm immunity
i looked it up, i like it actually, what would you replace for it? dissonant whispers?
That's the one I would've considered, so that works out :P
nice
My City Watch PC was just promoted to Senior Civilar and assigned to the Griffon Cavalry. She's a fucking horse cop. Her Griffon's name is Taffeta.
fun
https://www.heroforge.com/load_config%3D58360688 The updated fit on HF. I'll probably get a better fit and griffon designed later.

So it's a cape that allows you to shout in a deep, loud voice?
It's a cape that stokes a fire for forging
What Dnd class would you suggest for a Lumberjack type of PC?
Like your warmhearted nature loving, Flannel shirt, timberland boots Lumberjack
I know barbarian is an obvious pick but I dont intend for this guy to be a raging hulk, more gentle giant
Rage can be reflavored as intense focus, it doesn't have to be mindless anger
If barbarian doesn't fit the vibe you want, consider ranger, ancients paladin, or even just fighter
What subclass ranger or fighter?
Oath of the anchients sounds pretty Chill AF for a paladin
Without multiclassing
- drakewarden ranger is my favorite (you get a little dragon buddy)
- can't go wrong with battle master or even champion (5.5 version is best). Honorable mentions to the third party Hero (from cthulhu by torchlight; pdk but actually good, great support for allies) and Bulwark (from grim hollow; be a tank, soaking up hits for allies)
With multiclassing, things become more complex
Reflavored Oath of the Genie can work bc of their elemental resistance aura
Fey Wanderer ranger for a lumberjack that negotiates with the fairies of the wood on where they can and cannot cut trees
"if y'all don't shut up,I am going to start flipping through second edition spells for the enemies"
Solipsism was my absolute favorite stupid 2E spell. You could cast an illusion, and if someone believed in it (which was automatic for you), they could treat it as real. You could walk across a chasm by believing hard enough in a bridge.
Flesh to air
"Flesh to air" implies the existence of "air to flesh".
It exists
the only use i can find for it it
to return the flesh of someone that has been turned to air to their bones
hey there! i was wondering if anyone in here could speak for the legitimacy of Aurora Legacy? I'm unsure if its safe to use the index files and everything from it, while i may be being paranoid i figure better safe than sorry lol
for anyone unfamiliar with Aurora character builder its a 5e character builder software that got its updates discontinued a while back
and Legacy claims to be a fan continuation project
i can't find much online speaking on whether or not its legitimate though, hence the concern
(Alex likes to get freaky, so Taffeta is a cross between a Harris' hawk and a ferret, two smart and fucking terrifying animals that in captivity are sometimes trained to hunt together!)

NGL i may wana keep an eye on this
Yeah I’m excited for this. Wondering if they’ll be able to get this onto DnDBeyond given how much content is coming with this
Is there a robot species? Cant look at the above
You got three species, demon robots, your typical sentient robots, and digital Hardlight sentient beings
The demon robots are one of the four discordant species. Which is the demon robots, killer space clowns basically, energy vampire space corsairs, and fiendish bug humanoids. They’re all people who have been corrupted by the Cacophony.
A discordant pc can eventually take another demonic trait, or a more humanoid one that can provide benefits to your party
