Ngl from the VO I briefly thought this was gonna be a chaos guardsman and got excited lol
I mean we have Chaos Guard through blooded
but that's a KT
and building up an army through that would be expensive.
Dow4 should basically start like
But instead of sleeping the Necron was deeply focused on a multi-century itemization of all the ancient artifacts it had "collected"
Silent King: OK this is getting ridiculous I got to break out the war in heaven cache of super weapons. Wait where is everything
Younger races: Uhhhhhhhhhhh. HE DID IT! NO IT WAS HIM!
Orks: Oi! Metal Boi tek!
Eldar: Necron...
Observe!’ cast Demicar. ‘The photonic deflectors are in position.’
He pointed into space. Bright lights marked the firing of plasma engines bringing the obelisks to a halt.
‘And if they’ve moved out of alignment by some chance in the interim?’ said Qvo. He sounded nervous.
‘Then the fleet will be obliterated by plasmic-photonic eruption from the accretion ring, and we shall all die in the service of the Machine God,’ said Vrange. ‘Such is the price of experimentation.’
‘I dislike it when they experiment,’ said Qvo glumly.
Archmagos has some good mad science techpriests actually getting things done for once
man Sigismund was the fucking man huh
he wasn't much good at anything other than sword autism, but that is basically the criterion by which space marines are judged
he was the most sword autism per space marine you could get
so he was just kind of the GOAT
apparently Abaddon even sent his body back basically untouched to the imperium
Depends on what you want to play
Elaborate
Depends if you wanna play marines or guardsmen or eldar or orks or etc etc etc
Oh nevermind my friend has all of them LMAO
Eyyyyyyyyy

IMPORTANT
Hey, that’s the attitude we’re looking for here
So my Christmas self purchases are 40k themed thusfar
I got Inquisitor: Martyr cuz it was wicked cheap and will likely also snag space marine 2
I grabbed Mechanicus but I have to finish Rogue Trader first
And my finish I mean do 2 more runs as heretic and dogmatic with basically every companion and major party comp archetype I can think of
Space Marines 2 seems like one of my favorite kinds of games, 'sequel to mid but fascinating 7/10 game that's sprouted from it's cocoon as an actually extremely fun and well made masterpiece'
Having played 1, 2 is such a massive improvement it deserves the success it got
Also having played 1, all my homes hate Leandros
Also I'm very happy that the combat knife is a sidegrade and not a tutorial weapon in 2
Because god
Look at that
I do love Reivers
Reivers are so cool
I do wish they had some kind of AT as deep insertion terror and disruption troops
I guess krak grenades are actually good enough in many cases
I havent played in a few months but the block combat knife is a monster in terms of damage
Mostly to bosses, rivaled only be block power fist
Oh I was meaning just in general lore for my comment
Mood
Remember there are two more DLCs coming as well
W a companion each
And one of them feature Trazyn

Although disregard the female mechanicus comment I made earlier
That’s gonna be a DH companion
@junior summit okay fuck void shadows final boss that sucked
Assuming it was the ||priest of the cult||
Nevermind it’s probably not thinking about how many acts this game has
Still
The magus fight is a pretty binary mobility check
Yeah
I did succeed!
Also yeah okay I got kibbles in a good place build wise
She’s clearing chaff like no one’s buisness
Chat, an eldar can choose which aspect warrior path they go down yah?
Yes
Cool
they do kinda have to have a local temple if they want to stay in their own craftworld mind
So the emperor on the throne getting up would be like that. It's debatable whether the emperor in the warp would be better.
Assumingly there would be kindness there
Cause there's a theory there
The emperor on the throne is the one made of the one that cast his humanity care and all that sort to be able to fight horus on the vengeful spirit
The emperor in the warp is made of the stuff that was cast into the warp.
Yeah, the Emperor getting up to walk?
It will honestly depend on what writer wants to do with it.
Because it can go anywhere from "Renewal of the Imperium" to "Yeah, that's a Fifth Chaos God".
Have you seen the person doing the conversions for the dark king?
Their telemon conversion is one of my favorites
so I have a new idea for my Magos Macrotek
So if a leader is attached to a unit, does it count as part of that unit
I'm asking because of this-
The fact that the unit itself doesn't just have deep strike and instead has this parses to me as 'you can give the leader a grav chute for deep strike even if they don't have it natively'
Not for equipment no
Cause attaching leaders doesnt happen during list building
The only reason grav chutes are optional is cause you can build the kit without them
lmao
That's
Dumb!
Ye
This is why there’s the reiver cap/lt
Ohhh thats a nice one slim
That other one seems useable for decoration still tbh
I see uses for a GUO with empty stomach
A bit of detail loss under the sword hand and the cross-handle kinda just...disappeared a little there, but nothing some greenstuff can't fix.
So the idea I had of reiver with phobos librarian is less good 😔
I'm aware that reivers in general are not regarded very warmly but consider- they are cool
They are cool
Yeah honestly I was thinking maybe a crumbling statue, overgrown with rot and decay (and other stuff).
That's the great part about failed prints, it can just be terrain!
Reivers do have scout
So theres vaguely a reason not to deep strike them
You also have the dumb thing that the reiver lt wasnt given a grav chute so cant take one but the generic phobos lt does have one
Despite grav chutes only being a reiver thing
Among phobos units
Once I get my beginner games in in a few days, my next project is gonna be a 2000 point space marine list, maybe fluffed to be Carcharodons? Lots of Violent CQB
Brutalis Dreadnoughts, Reivers, that sort of thing
I will say the two halves of the GUO don't quite line up but I dunno if that's user error, a fault with the print, or what. But I plan to print it out as one combined piece anyway since a friend wanted one and if that comes out well I can just print a third.
chainsaw swords may have been invented in 1980 for the first issue of ABSALOM DAAK: DALEK KILLER, a dr who tie in comic with heavy 2000ad/judge dredd inspiration https://bsky.app/profile/pantmonger.bsky.social/post/3mavd5xryzk2w
Daleks
Since they’re time traveling universal empire nonsense they’re usually considered much stronger
But
A guy named Dalek Killer uses a chainsword
So they’re prolly fucked
now you gotta find the records
I feel like individual daleks are probably not that tough yeah
Like standard killer robot tier
varies a lot based on era tbh, modern ones have modern ideas like energy shields and hover disks on their base, old ones were metal and foiled by stairs repeatedly up till I think the movie
found a full synopsis of his appearances at least https://doctorwho.org.nz/archive/tsv35/abslomdaak.html
https://bsky.app/profile/jameshodden.bsky.social/post/3mavydwvf4c24 Oh he even got a mini.
-# ↩ Pantmonger (@pantmonger.bsky.social)
The early, weekly comic version of Doctor Who Magazine had characters like Absolom Daak and Kroton the Cyberman with a soul as an early expanded universe.
Dude apparently racked up a whole pile of daleks so yeah powerscaling ahoy
my face when chainscaling
Zahndrekhposting
Don't be rude to your dinner host
Especially since he's giving an enemy commander a banquet of a lifetime
Very polite and honorable
Yeah he definitely is looking a lot worse in his new model
And a kinda wider/fatter face
Warhammer x Uma Musume poster is certainly a crossover I didnt expect but very fitting for Adeptus Ridiculous
https://shop.orchideight.com/products/adeptus-ridiculous-title-2025-art-prints
Should be fangier
Jaghaitai would like Umas for their lifelong dedication and training to being faster
do the chaos marines ever band with marines of their same god, e.g emperors children and flawless host? ive been reading some of the old codices and really want to do some corprus brethren sorcerers and especially seeing as EC are disjointed warbands, if it would fit or not
Yes but not universally
EG the Emperor's Children really hate the Children of Torment
It varies
Generally if a single champion gets enough of a following you can have multiple warbands following him
But also the gods are jealous, and their followers doubly so.
thank you! so corprus brethren would be an ok one? (for an otherwise EC army)
i dont see anything glaring like Children of torment and their friend abaddon
i may regret choosing a 90% white paint gang but they are very interesting to me with their little tidbits
I wouldn't see a problem with mixing and matching
So. There are three missing models in this apartment.
One Wytch. One Mandrake. One of the Wytch riders on a Venom.
All three are Drukhari.
I think there's a portal to Cammoragh in this apartment.
fucker got servitorized
looks cool
I did a dumb and I painted yellow over black though
my imperial fist looks like an oversaturated angry marine
So its slightly chunky
doesn't look too bad
No such thing brother
:)
Yellow can never be too saturated
anyway i have decided to try learning some art skills
soon
because i like what art other people can make
and i also have enough ideas that i would want to put onto a medium
be it a screen or paper
Its still very cluttered so ill have to go back in for some final touches
cool
Had a dream. I was in the Guard. We were fighting off Necrons in a barn. One of the other guys (Catachan, I believe) stole my lasgun and used it to fire a few holes in the ceiling for funsies. After the battle, I turned in the lasgun to my commissar (can’t have the machine spirit misbehaving) and stopped by mess. I managed to snag one of the last pieces of (probably rotten, judging by the taste) cheese
lets see here
Combat Patrol: Salamanders
War Dogs
Centurion Assault Squad
Eradicators
Oh, there is a good crossover spot for me. I love this, because I made my pilot a former DOJ/HR pilot that got a pipe through the dome like Phineas Gauge, and now believes he's Ghazkhull.
Robits
about time i got this
"Don't talk to me or my son ever again."
mm myes spike
damn
that's a damn nice dream
why don't i get such dreams
the best ones i got recently were about petting a dragon becoming friends with one and being turned into one with magic
Chapter Master gaming
Centurion...
I could think of no better model to make into my Chapter Master
the idea for mine was for him to be in terminator armor
modified Tartaros pattern terminator armor
Abachyle Phayne, Gloom Lord of the Dusk Defiant
interesting
Dusk named chapter with red arm 🤝
(Dusk Wyrms)
the idea is that the Dusk Defiant are Dusk Raider/Death Guard successors
on the down-low since they are loyalists
think my favourite guy aside from the chapter master is the Chief Apothecarian
damn he really looked at the different backpacks and went "i want all of them"
Lord Apotheca Sanctus Kaerastes Vohkh
yeah he's got some pretty cobbled together armor so he got a lot of different bits
he's wearing MK.V Heresy armor
reminds me of the cobnbled together armor during the horus heresy
it is specifically that yeah
there is one person in the chapter who has
even more cobbled armor
damn
and tbf
most of the chapter has some kind of cobbled together armor
they love salvaging old armor whenever they can
that's cool
and just kinda stick old bits of armor onto their armor sets if at all possible
so a lot of them will maybe have like
what are their thoughts on primaris
a few parts from older armors
none too fond of the primaris
they had to do away with all of the psykers also which was annoying
like most
the Dusk Defiant have a no-tolerance policy on Psykers
you told me before
anyway i got good news
i'll get the warhammer wrath and glory book soon
the person with the most cobbled armor is the Castellan Shield-Stalker, Lupaion Matrochos
doesn't look too bad
the jetpack style is from pre-heresy
cool
they used to pair those with MK II crusade armor
again there is definitely better ones now, but they like using old stuff so Kaerastes uses an old one
yeah
knew it
as for this guys armor, it's got one Curadh shoulder plate, one maximus armor forearm, the full arm and backpack of a set of iron armor, the chest of an errant armor, one leg and the hips of crusade armor, one corvus armor thigh and foot, one thunder armor shin, and some miscellaneous bits for decoration
so that's bits from like 7 different types of armor
his armor is ofc a set of artificer armor with how customized it is
cool
the Indomitable Briar
yep
So: I bought stirland mud
What happens if I were to mix stirland mud with armageddon dust?
find out
I will then
You would get truly the worst place in all the universe
Oh the paints, not mixing stirland and Armageddon
Is is the Land Raider called the Land Raider cause the guy who found the STC was named Land?!
Ye
Wow, out of all the silly stuff in 40k this is somehow up there foor me
he found it so they named it the Land Raider, after him, Arkhan land
Its one of those jokes that you always hear about 2e having
I do love it though
I do love how some variants of this land raider are just so gunned up it doesn't carry anything but guns despite being a heavy armor transport
It sounds really stupid, but it's probably the most reasonable thing about 40k. See Gatling guns being named after Richard Jordan Gatling or shrapnel being named after Henry Shrapnel
Thing is land was a word before it was a name
Those examples are names that became words
True
A lot of names are also a word, it's not called Brown University because it's brown colored
To be fair to arkan land he also thought that monkeys were venomous
Also orange
(University Hall, the oldest building at Brown, does also happen to be brown)
Like as in william of orange
Also wild to me
It'd be like if Main Battle Tank was created by John Main
Or Heavy bomber was created by Caroline Heavy
Smith College teaches liberal arts, not blacksmithing
The principality of orange and the fruit/colour orange are completely different words from different etymologies
This wins out for me
But also its kinda like theres the whole thing of high gothic like
Although Smith has always been a common name and profession often as what your family did
They might genuinely not use land as a word by that point
And then it could also be a joke all the other magi are playing on land
Although looking at it, techarcheologist named land is pretty much like someone with last name because they're a family of blacksmith
I think the worst example is the Stryker platform being named after two deceased soldiers. "Honoring" the dead with a overly-on-the-nose homonym is a choice
Tbf many military would find an ironic naming after their dead to be funny
They named the rogal dorn and leman rus after the primarchs since they found them
Running Russ like the vehicle or primarch? Yes
hell wolves could use lemans for an edition or two
I mean the incredulity isnt at the concept of naming something after someone
guess who found the STC for the Land Speeder
No
also the Land Crawler
iirc land wanted to call them the Land's Raider, Land's Speeder, and Land's Crawler but the name got corrupted at some point along the line
oh fun fact diesel is named for inventor Rudolf Diesel
who invented a compression-ignition engine in 18-something or the other
So, I have Draken Hoff and Tyran blue.
Which would work better as a shade for Krieger coats/trousers.
Last names that are actual words are funny to me, cause if it becomes like [last name] [noun] then it's not as iconic as say, a maxim
Or as someone mentioned earlier in this chat, Sharpnel being originally a name of the guy who coined it that turned into a word
Dang, do those ancestors know you can just make up a last name that isn't an existing word
Though it seems they have unrelated Latin roots
Wait no, same Latin root but via different paths
Maxim (name) is derived from use of the Latin word maximus ("the greatest") as a name, while maxim (word) is derived from using the Latin word maxima to describe great truths
No no, better than that, he invented the shrapnel shell
So, I have a quick.
What should I apply first? Stormshield (matt varnish) or Ardcoat (gloss varnish)?
Depends. For finished models I always go gloss then 1-2 coats of matte; the gloss acts as an 'armor' of sorts that helps seal the final product in and prevents damage, while matte kills the shine and makes it look better.
All righty
_>. I spent too long putting nuln and earthshade on Stirland mud.
And now I have to wait a whole day before applying gloss varnish to make the mud wet.
Who is the person here who uses tts for games?
I wanted to know about playing against them with custodes
models you can suplex
For when you don't want to bother with a movement phase.
He has become glossed
And now I must wait a business day to begin the matt phase
Thankfully matte varnish doesn't take nearly as long.
Generally I do gloss at night and check on it in the morning so I don't sit there twiddling my thumbs or anything.
Yeah, I'm gonna be precutting the rest of the Krieg right now.
Getting them ready for tonights glue session with the gundam glue.
nice models
Moderati, give me range on the 2k point game on the next table over
Ah, to be playing 3e and hearing someone with a Basilisk ask that 3 tables over.
A healthy 10ft range on that thang.
God bless the Earthshaker, yeah.
Tis why the Basilisk is one of my favorite guard models still.
Also because in the past, the Iron Warriors could take Basilisks as part of their army as a special rule.
IWs in the 3.5 'dex were busted as hell.
Correct.
“You fool, I wasn’t just putting extra models on that other table, I was setting up my artillery firebase”
We’ve been longing for that glory ever since…
It has an even longer range now (240") lmao
Honestly kinda weird it wasnt guess range??
At least the Deathstrike Missile in 10th has N/A for range. I think some earlier editions gave it less range than the Basilisk
Reducing the science of gunnery to “guess range” is really funny though
Like in that table the griffon mortar is guess range (indirect)
Oh, huh
Cause instead of shooting at a unit you can see you could shoot at an absolute range that you had to guess
I guess they gave the Basilisk artillery computers (which I assume is a mechanical computers like those on WWII era warships)
Oh my god it was direct fire
In my assault gun era
Wait, does no Guess range also mean it was direct fire?
It was both iirc
Yeah Guess was basically the indirect fire keyword
I think the Basilisk had a rule which let it fire in guess mod- ah thanks
What a weird way to do things
Forgot they could guess range at 240" lmao
Sure just lemme fire at something 20ft away.
Oh, so that's why the modern ones are 240"
Also, that's a hilariously huge minimum range
Even if boards were bigger before 10th
That is really odd
I wonder how much minimum ranged would help with indirect honestly
Most boards were just 6x4 so the minimum range of 3ft is hilarious.
Idk if they ever tried it
In modern era I mean
But yes also another puzzle piece is that ordnance just meant large blast at this time
Large blast and insane armor pen.
Yeah
Indirect isn't particularly strong right now anyways
Thats cause it got nerfed into the ground in other ways haha
They had to do a lot to make it weak
Guess Range means you can't measure and just need to say the distance beforehand, right?
"I'm firing at your buddy's army in the parking lot."
I think the final nail was always missing on 1-3?
I think direct nerfs to the best weapons was big
Cant load up on airbursting frag launchers
Or take 30 space marine dudes
You guessed for indirect, yeah.
Rip night spinner
You just scattered from the the point you declared
You weren't allowed to pre-measure in general right?
40k didn't allow premeasuring for decades.
And it was a valid attack as long as it was in range
I can't remember: if you choose a unit out of range to fire at, did you just auto miss?
You auto-missed if it was out of range entirely, otherwise it scattered.
Ordnance couldn't really miss on a failed BS roll, it just wandered off.
It was standard for wargames to disallow it right?
That part is kind of funny
But yeah i was gonna say that 4e like unnnested a bunch of rules from ordnance. The pen table became the ap bonuses, pinning became a weapon special rule, etc
For some very groggy ones yes, but nowadays it's considered odd and backwards to not allow premeasuring.
Oh yeah, modern stuff allows it
It depends some like Btech always alowed pre mesure
[Reply to:](#1161696278640594954 message) It was standard for wargames to disallow it right?
It was mostly a hex game though right?
Yeah 4e was much more reasonable, 3e is where ordnance could just ruin your day and IG had a ton of it.
Hard to disallow counting hexes, ha
Oh also there was a wargear that let you measure but if you used it you werent allowed to shoot a guess range weapon after
There was like
I mean there was that one game that made memorizing decks cheeting
In general a lot of rulings to counter like bad faith playing
Theres a funny rule in 3e I just saw where your opponent could like
But yeah Btech was mostaly a hex game and is curentaly only ment to be played on hex maps, please the devs are begging you not to use the Ture LOS rules
Mulligan your blast placement so you cant target their sergeants and special weapons
And as long as the same number of models were hit they could move it
I think the weirdest in-between state for allowing and disallowing pre-measuring was Dropzone Commander 1st edition: you could in general pre-measure except when choosing if you are going to use an AA weapon's reaction to shoot at a plane/helicopter. Then you had to pick a point in the path and then check if it was in range
Infinity has very limited pre measuring and I love it its sicko mode
But it also only makes you guess a 8” range not down to the fractions of an inch
The trick with guess range was knowing how far apart the printings on the terrain mat were before the game
Which is definitely unfair
leans on table with arm parallel to the range
Yeah lmao people used the "I know exactly how long my arm is down to the centimeter" long before table mats were a common thing.
Man every time an eldar is like “ohhh you primitive disgusting humans you’re barely even people” all I can think is just “yeah wow we suck so much we probably even birthed a chaos god, that’d be so crazy”
Guy so horny he has to constantly meditate in order to not feed the god of hedonism: wow ur so stupid and hedonistic
Warmachine had the funny shit where you could premeasure the general’s control radius on their bots. And nothing else
You get real good at holding 10 inches and staring at the far end of the table
To be fair, humans could also stand to meditate more to not feed the god of hedonism
Okay yeah
Also it’s crazy to think how hedonistic they must’ve been at the peak cause like
I don’t feel bad that pigs can’t cause global warming
Well it’s more like you calling a pig a dumb animal and then it responds to you in a language you know “yeah wow I guess I’m stupid, thank god you’re taking care of the planet dude”
But also Im not sure the timeline (and one doesnt really exist) but theres a decent chance that the dark king is like
Fucking up much faster than the eldar did
And the cicatrix maledictum is also much worse than the original eye of terror
Obv the dark king didnt end up happening yet but its like
Craftworld eldar who were telling the normie eldar to stop making a chaos god the whole time the first time around calling humans stupid for being about to do the exact same thing
That’s true the dark king devastation is supposed to be real bad
Is that the fear of the emperor thing
Not that I disagree that eldar are funny
It’s what the full emperor would have become if he fought Horus at full strength
A ruinous god of oblivion who destroys everything
And brings universal silence to chaos
Even funnier is when they’re like “ough monkeigh our people are so incomprehenibly different”
And it’s just the highest level of copium imagineable
Me when I hear an insult like "petty primitive feuds"
How are the Craft worlds getting along? Had civil agreement with Drukhari recently?
No no the drukari are a different species silly
It is grimdark in that way, they see themselves as more than primitives but they're like pretty much the same as humans just to more extremes
Their empire fell to hubris and they still think they're better
Peak irony
Yeag
I think the funniest part of all is every now and then there’s an eldar that just agrees with that lmao
Necrons too
Primitive organic feuds, anyways Trazyn and Orikan SK and Zandrekh, Trazyn and really anyone else
There is very specifically one eldar god left, and he would take umbrage with somebody saying, the eldar aren't funny
Also sort of Isha
Laughing God seems whimsical but when you consider what peak Eldar empire Eldar would find funny it gets less fun for other races.
if i can reroll from say a unit ability and also get a reroll on the same thing from a detact do i get both rerolls or just one reroll
Cant stack rerolls
thats what i thought
Funny idea for a wrath and glory character: guy is extremely obviously a genestealer who has lost the plot
GSC Guardsman: "GLORY TO THE FOUR ARMED EMPEROR! DEATH TO THE FALSE ANGELS!"
Scion: "..."
Deathwatch: "..."
Scion: "We should tell hi-"
Deathwatch: "No, no. Let him have this."
I think I red a fanfic like two decades ago that had a loyalist genestealer (well, one of the intermediate generations anyways)
Oh?
My vague memory is they were fighting off a tyranid invasion. And that a lictor looked like a part of a building before breaking their transport
you get into warhammer and you find yourself saying stuff like: "oh those are the blood angels. theyre kind of vampire-coded because they have a 'blood curse.' their primarch is named 'sanguinius'" and you start to die of embarrament about liking this and then you remember "count dooku"
690
IIRC all it takes is getting em roughly Off Planet to break the patriarch-hosted gestalt consciousness, everybody besides the purestrains and metamorphs are straight up just people
It's embarrassing because they said they were "kind of" vampire-coded
Thats a pretty easy W&G character lmao
Tbh that would be like
A pretty horrifying experience
To suddenly snap out of the hivemind
Alternatively, me applying irl religious trauma experience to role playing someone born to the cult
They do be cults
Even the chillest cult is still probably on Jonestown shit
The spiral helix fellas might be the most Okay given they’re interstellar but it means you’re the Sacklers
Pauper Princes sound like they do okay but then I remember they’re on Terra which sucks ass and become baldoid = lowgrade psyker = you are on Terra listening to the screaming god corpse forever
LMAO JOHNSON AND JOHNSON IS RUN BY FUCKING GENESTEALERS?!?!!?
One of the canon bigger cults, twisted helix, is literally Imperium Big Pharma
They spiked geneseed and apothecary supplies of an entire chapter causing the inquisition to erase every single one of the fuckers
hell yeah, love the use of the Eliminator rifle and backpack (and also a bayonet for the knife?)
Little finishing touch. Yeah, eliminator backpack+slung rifle, its p much identical size as heresy nemesis bolters so its really abt covering the plate on the pack so it’s not obviously primaris. Mk VI head and shoulder, Mk II body. Bayonet on the sergeant’s normal power sword hand
Gonna greenstuff a hood + cloak extensions to cover arms and chest a bit, its actual wargear with a nice effect so I’m trying to make it look cool
I call this move Alpharius
ALPHARIUS I HAVE AN IDEA
How to get your opponent to kick their own ass
Obiwan Sherlock Clouseau cannot hurt you.
Probably part of the Illuminati
I wonder if tryzen was jazzed to learn about the ynnari. Hearing that there is a new type of elder to collect seems like it would give him some zest
Also could you imagine that eldar getting to talk to one of the OG soldier under the old one eldar
He got mint condition war in heaven one that thinks it's still fighting in that moment
I think he pops one against the deceiver and that Eldar was mid attack and immediately understood it was captured and it is not the same battlefield but saw the Ctan shard and was like alright bet I'm fighting another one.
A real one for having 0 hesitation
Imagine the Laughing God making deals with Trazyn for Harlequins like middle schoolers trading yugioh cards.
i once saw a mini with hilariously long legs and with a gray outfit
with the inspector gadget music
Standard issue Route W
Lmao
Damn a post on a different site with the Grimdank reddit watermarks
Naturally we have to screencap that and continue the cycle
Screencap discord and put it on Facebook to screenshot for Tumblr
This meme has ventured all corners of the internet
Did my first game of 40k today!
I admit between our joint inexperience and the fact that I had to help the other player build their army again before we played that uh
We didn't finish
But we agreed to pick it back up another time
It was fuuuuuun
Many such cases when trying out a new wargame IME
My Sacresants have survived quite a lot and gummed up the front line nicely
When we get back too it I'll have them regen models and drop my paragon warsuits out of strategic reserves :3
If I’m teaching someone 40k the first game is played with 4-5 units one of which will be a vehicle, we won’t even use abilities or stratagems or scoring
After that you can stagger in scoring and secondaries and unit abilities and detach rules and army rules and then scale up to 1k/2k
The game is fucking absurd
One of the cool bits of Spearhead is how it sticks all your strats on cards that you can physically hold and look at. It reduces the decision paralysis and lets you be confident that you know all your options.
Everyone gets Orks, fate will decide whether you are a winner or a loser
This is how you make an Orks player
I was playing Sisters Of Battle and
This will conjure horror in anyone familiar with the system but this was the faction that spoke to them and I wasn't gonna baby them about things-
The other first-timer is playing Genestealers
good lord
why
(I get it, but I learned AoS as my first wargame on a finesse faction and that was not a pleasant experience)
They liked the idea of hordes over elites, and a complex playstyle over a simple one
I listed the factions that fit 'complex hordes' and they were super jazzed about Genestealers even after a given warning
They're an adult! I believe in them!
If you can read you can play genestealers its just that experience on any other army doesn’t help you
TBH! They were doing decently when we stopped
I had a slight point advantage but they were gonna turn it around with zones held
I always hear GSCs describe as poor little paper babbys but my Sacresants were having a hell of a time trying to chew through their Metamorphs
So a lotta people won’t be able to help
Anyways hello I’m in the top 100 GSC I have the textbooks
GSC pretty much made for eating sacresants tbh I don’t know anybody else who has as efficient of ways to kill those
Other armies can but they trade down hard on points to do it
Five str 4 AP -1 damage 1 attacks per model.......
Both of them held strong for multiple fight phases though
When we get back to the game I'm gonna drop some miracle dice on replenishing them, and since it's round 3 I can bring my Paragons out into their deployment zone and cause problems
Oh we ain’t even using the leaders or strats yet lmao
Biosanctic or Xenocreed is gonna run in there with +1 attack, +1 to hit, +1 to wound, lethal hits or a 4+ FNP
Host of Ascension ripping out sustain+lethals on 5s
Final Day is little less intense but they’ll still crack +1 to hit & full rerolls
They went for the 4+ FNP!
Metamorphs really do feel like Dark Sacresants
Especially since they can get cult icon for a Hospitaller-adjacent model return effect
It's not the best matchup but I've gotten my hits in too
The very first turn was veryyyyy funny
They put a Achilles Ridgerunner clear in the open without realizing two of my three mortifers could move to have sightlines on it and they uh
Shot it apart with a liberal application of bolter fire
Yeah ridgerunners are a hard lesson to learn
They die to bolters and are your secret army rule + some of the strongest antitank in the game
oh holy shit that's a good laser
One must wonder why uhhhh
The imperium only uses it for mining
And don't say it's because it spits out tons of radiation or something because they WOULD not care
costs too much to issue to guardsmen who are expected to die
Its the same with lascutters being kinda just better meltaguns
It's tech-heresy to use them for anything but mining
Ammo costs?
I think its kinda just pushed
Like the identity is kinda a less focused lascannon
So its blast but less damage
Oh
I thought lascannons were d6+2 now
Its just ~2 lascannons
The goofier shit is that the neophytes can pack 2 on 6pt models
Prf
And every single bike squad has one
Check out the shit they put on our home objective sitters, go peep the autopistol acolytes
Rock up to the cult uprising with Kharn and all the homies
we cannot fucking lose
flank with a helbrute. The rear is unguarded, its 5 guys with tablesaws
rapid ingress the time to strike is now
where is my helbrute
At the rooks open my round 6 was into grey knights, dude rapid ingressed a full 10 paladins + grandmaster into my deployment zone
Charge from a 140pt unit of 6 dewalts, some extra chumps with chainswords and a 50pt biophagus, the unit was reduced to the grandmaster
GSC datasheets are like "here are the stats for my harbor freight shopping cart please dont laugh S3 is a real statline" and behind them they're holding a nuclear bomb labelled "character, detachment, and strat buffs"
The power tools are strong enough they’d have a whole edition of haterade if they ever appeared on something tougher than T4 5+ save and no defensive ability.
I refuse to believe anybody actually voted for "space marine, but big" as the coolest mini of the year
It is just about the most exciting sculpt they seem to have allowed in Heresy
I'm referring to Grimnar
making a sample character who is uhhhhh
for wrath and glory
theyre a hive ganger who almost died but got saved by the mechnicus and is a cyborg
They gotta have been saved by a mechanicus dude just going “you know what? I like the cut of your jib.
And also the proportions of your skeleton seem like exactly the mounting points I need for this idea I’ve had”

The question is was the dude trying to rob them or some such or helping them, I think it’s much funnier if they were trying to rob them and the dude just views it as a tryout
“Oh hey, nice effort!”
-# also we don't have a jib servitor that could match that and you could be an above average Skiitari if that jib is insufficient to keep your brain safe
currently they have an optical mechandrite and a stubcarbine for an arm
Not implanted in their arm mind
It’s replaced it
Breaking- benches in the imperium of man are homeless-friendly
I mean they’d probably just shoot you
Also…. Uh, do demons and shit related to warp actually get repelled by worship of the emperor
Cause I’m seeing conflict reports on whether ‘mundane’ faith has any real impact on them
Depends on the writer, as with many things
depends on the writer but frequently yes
SoBs are baseline humans and their acts of faith are core gameplay mechanics
Dark Imperium has a whole thing about it

Yeah I did say on another server that whether you can survive the night is another matter
The idea of Imperium-produced Public Amenities just amuses me to no end
Imperium basketball court
Efficient temporary resting and shelter for the hard working Imperial citizens, only the most worthy may earn such luxury from the grasp of their peers if they are able to keep it.
3 arms James got an unfair advantage and has uncanny synergy with his team despite their mutations. He says if I win just one match I can join his crew and find out his secrets
They serve the 4 armed emperor but in a different way
Not usually it only works for latent psykers people with true faith
There’s also “whatever the sisters are doing” but it’s been textually murky what exactly is going on with them for decades
It’s not quite psychic power buuuut
happens a lot in this game, lascutters are at least clumsy but Mechanicus priests are packing the laser cutter from Hardspace Shipbreaker half the time and only occasionally remember they can bisect space marines
one of the best fights in Brutal Kunning is Warpsmith vs senior Admech archivist who apparently has basic combat mods + the mother of all multitools
Chaos apothecary???
Makes sense for the RC since geneseed fraud and theft is so defining for em
Glad to get someone like this if true
It’s been so long lol
Mhm
They were quite big for world eaters too right? War surgeon? But they didnt give them one
Butcher surgeon?
Sort of weirdly yeah
They’re all lunatic berserkers except the docs who are just really good at their job
(Making everyone else into lunatic beserkers)
I would not be surprised if the butcher surgeon is just the chaos apothecary with a different statblock
this would piss me off somehow and gives me hope also
Like the Meistro of Euthanasia
i waited for a butcher surgeon since 10th dropped and got slaughterbound which didnt do much in my favor then i dropped 40k waiting for 11th
idk i have a horrible time with 40k in 10th
hopefully 11th will be an actual wargame than a tactics game
I mean regarding waiting I’ve been wondering about the lack of CSM apothecaries since 4th haha
Albeit back then there was less parity between the rosters
Huh what is your distinction?
10th feels more competitive oriented than gaming oriented
everything needs to be balanced or tweaked or else its nerf for being "too op"
i cant set up a terrain in a unique way because the other player perfers format A type C terrain competitive setup or else i have no one to play with
locally its competition or no game and it sucks
i tried running campaigns but people werent willing to put effort in unless its formatted
nothing makes sense here
idk whats it like in europe or america
i hope its not like what im going through with
That strikes me as more of a local community thing than an edition thing unfortunately
I mostly play KT and it’s mostly fairly casual but using the comp ruleset, but I know people who do big setpiece narrative battles in AOS like twice a week
yeah, the local community competitive players ruined 40k here because of it mainly them deeming any other way is incorrect

i hate it hereee
i resorted to horus heresy and other niche games but no player base at all
It would be very funny if a renegade warband gets apothecaries before any of the legions and Fabius Bile.
Like if anyone should have "patch you up good" it's the mad doctor himself.
sorry for ranting
don't worry about it, we all need to vent sometimes
im just sad i cant play 40k casually without it becoming a competitive slop because of the local competitive people
Building a more narrative/casual group separate from the competitive folks is hard but you can make it happen with work.
Yeah, it's entirely possible to do that but sometimes it may start with just two people.
Our local area has a competitive group that's hardcore and travels, and another group that is the more narrative/casual oriented group and people kinda tend to find their speed.
Did another print, this time one solid piece. Very happy with the results.
Getting it started is hard for sure, but possible.
i dont have a narrative group because the actual narrative group got overtaken by yhe competitive group
its not a gradual thing
Slight visible horizontal line when I had to change to a fresh roll of filament but hardly a glaring issue.
just basically the local community is eating itself
and only me and a group of people are trying to fix it
and its just tiring
i cant run a narrative campaign without a player asking for fixed mission mapping terrain
Yeah I can understand that one. It takes a lot of work to build/rebuild a community idea.
It can be a thankless task but the rewards can be great if you're willing to tough it out. But if you can't, shit I can't blame you.
the competitive group mainly just took "the important" people and made their own group without admiting mistake or fault of ruining local community
its just drama upon drama of manchild behavior
im just tired
i switched to "niche" games that barely anyone plays atm
mainly specialist games or skirmish games
just upset about 40k mainly
Understandable. Had something of a similar issue way back when at an LGS where there were a bit too many competitive people there. Curiously just when it came to 40k tho, we had less of that for other games.
The worst is people who get competitive for specifically narrative games, like Mordheim. That was always weird to run into.
lmao god no it's a mess
A mess I love and cherish despite it but it's really silly to get competitive in a game where a poop-covered rat can kill your 80gc captain by chucking a rock at his dome.
Can you just pull folks ypu like for casual nonsese?
Funny story about what’s specifically putting me off trench crusade lmao
tried that and scheduling issues
Oh no lol
TC is hitting a weird spot where it's clearly trying for balance in a more competitive element but also trying to be narrative and I'unno man.
Like I got the book coming in whenever they actually ship the damn thing and I'll enjoy reading it, at least.
I think it’s tricky to do both yeah
I like KT a lot and it’s now pretty firmly on the competition side of the fence
Though there is some neat semi-PVE narrative stuff
And I do want to try out the new campaign rules
My short version is that the game is 95% guys who have only played post-8th warhammer going back and getting really mad it’s not 9th ed warhammer but magically Good
TC?
Yeah.
Their official discord is pretty much nothing but screaming at tuomas that he’s ruined their favorite game wtf is going on etc etc etc the narrative is ruined etc
I won’t lie I became competitive 40k mcgee because it was at least honest about “hey I wanna play a game to win” while TC and Heresy have all these silly little layers of “I wanna win while being Narrative and while being 100% skillful and not meta” and you look inside the Fluffy Lore Based List and its 40 emps children sunkillers + no line infantry
finally, Sleepy primaris Chaplain.
Wow this could be like anything lol
I sympathize a lot w/ Ruby n Slim but I’ll say I’ve had the total inverse experience and the nastiest people in our store are Casual Story-based Gamers
I believe that is a very dead Guardsman
I think the thing abt matched 10e is its at least like a game that exists and you can play
but yeah the story stuff can get pretty toxic like someone is like "what actual mechanical niche does volkite charger have vs combi-bolter, a weapon that has the same cost" and everyone is like "you did math leave this game you tryhard tourist"
Lol what
I like 10e the same way i like using the gw listbuilder
Lol balance issues not a thing i need to think of
Yeah I had a friend who went to a big tourney in 9e and submitted his Space Wolf list to the painting judgement and got upset at being dinged for his list composition not being narrative enough or whatever the criteria was
And I didn’t say it but I was mentally like buddy I remember what your list is it’s a Thunderwolf Death Star
That wasnt even good in 9e ehat
Ah, the one unique unit this chapter has ever had besides renaming the basic squads and giving em tails
Still giggling
I’m also realizing I had the edition wrong, that back in 2014 so… 8th?
Might’ve been 7th yeah
It wasn’t the top but it definitely wasn’t a fluffy list either
What was ecen their crierria
Well I guess literally fluffy because wolf but y’know
I don’t remember! It was a decade ago and I didn’t follow the scene much just what I heard from him
That seems unfair they used to be real unique
Hell, people can’t even agree on what’s fluffy given I’ve had my heresy army mansplained to me repeatedly as “honey you’ve just painted the wrong army thats okay repaint the XIX to I because Dark Angels use black and red”
They’re RG deliverers.
Ironically primaris marines kinda wolfed up everyone else
Imma give my two cents as someone who's run a lot of local events for a few different games. 40k is fundamentally a mess held together by a format that makes it bearable. L shaped terrain is lame but a tragic necessity when armies like guard and tau exist, not just from a competitive sense but because those armies are designed in such a fundamental way around being a wall of guns as a narrative theme that without reliable cover a melee army just dies.
The pseudo competitive format is just also extremely pickup game friendly which is how most people seem to prefer to play it in my experience. Campaigns can be a major commitment, especially if you're community has a large amount of players with young children or mismatched work schedules
I see so many people going "I want more customisation and options than 10e, we should go back to 9e" because that's the only other edition they've played
but 9th was perhaps the worst balance vs juice tradeoff ever made because it barely had any more options and was much worse as an actual game
like, if I want to play something fluffy that was as badly balanced as 9th I'd dredge up Horus Heresy 1.0, a game that was busted in four different ways but a lot of fun
and had a hundred times the options for fun army lists and customised models, because it was not at all wedded to "no model no rules" and as such had sidebars like "mechanicum has no lords of war, just take whatever from the Imperial Armour books and apply these modifiers instead"
Yeah my local community is starting to hit a straining point with 10th. Nerf bats swinging but list variety never opens up. Terrain layouts feeling stale and the only army getting big boosts is marines. Some folks are feeling like the dark days of 8th are coming back. Got folks flexing into AOS to bide their time till 11th
And MESBG is hitting a renaissance locally
It's like 6mo to 11th lol
The more I try different games the more I become convinced that army scale games with lots of shooting just don't work unless you start really restricting player freedoms
The best games with an abundance of shooting always seem to be skirmish systems
I wanna say return to 7e but like it was wildly busted
Also not a fan of army inflation
In hindsight it does feel like 7th was sleepwalking it's way towards a WHFB fate if it weren't for market dominance keeping it afloat
my sweet spot is a kind of HH 3.0/1.0/10e hybrid, which I might just write myself as a patch for 3.0 because what's wrong with 3rd is blessedly easy to locate and fix compared to any of those others
10th has some sensible decisions about infiltrators and deployment that I want to steal
Lol tempted to write a tau codex for hh3.0
I think there's Ork and Necron fandexes already in the works
But tau doesnt really work
they're a bit too stronk but perfectly functional
Becuaee its so gunny
you can be shooty in HH
Mechanicum and Alpha Legion are perfectly happy to blast crisis suits with conversion beamers
in fact I think Tau shooting tends towards the kind of stuff that "works" in HH
they aren't relying on 400 AP2 blast templates, which means they don't need to tone things down much
they might bully Spartans a bit but they're Spartans
spartanstars are fundamentally a gear check regardless of the enemy army
The more I hear about the state of 3.0 the more in tempted to give it a crack but man the cost of entry feels steep
it's good, I'm enjoying it a lot
I think someone really needs to write a good mission pack though
the corebook missions are terrible and the attempt to standardise on 4 turn games with all-in deployment rather than alternating units caused some problems
but you can fix all that at the mission level rather than having to go into the codexes or the core rules
Back when I had a knights army I considered flexing into 3.0 with a traitor knight house, buffing out the points with a yeomen detachment. The cost of that detachment alone would have been more than most of my AOS armies...
imo some of the issue is that narrative and casual are like....mutually exclusive
if you want a quick pick up and play dustup its going to end up being more focused on the mechanics than flavor
I also would just like to see more non marine stuff. The crusade/heresy era has multiple xenos empires unique to it that could be really cool to represent on the table
Knights in 3.0 aren't quite the monsters they are in 40k, they're more gun platforms
but they do have really cool tech
household ranks is a much more juicy army rule than the 40k one
you could do it by having more fleshed out fixed scenarios but that reduces the amount of room for your blorbos, y'know?
It did look really cool. Ended up trading the knights for necrons as I found they got very boring to play in 10th and the crons are very evergreen as a faction
Its....relatively...easy to set up a reasonably even scenario with fluff behind it when you can dictate force compositions and start locations and such but if you need to accomodate the possibility of one player being anywhere from knights to GSC that's way way waaaay harder
Epic battles over the trenches of cadia! Oh it's guard vs world eaters... Guess we can shake hands after the first shooting phase
This is actually why I never got into warcry. There's a nonzero chance you just lose before deployment even begins because of scenario and list building
the blood god favors us! inhuman screaming as brass L shaped ruins teleport from the warp
This is true but also you can crank out like 3 war cry games in an hour
Lots of “well that was tragic, let’s rematch” possibility
One too many games of keep away against nighthaunt just soured the whole thing for me
iirc this actually happens but its less L shaped ruins and more random rocks and fire and such
pall of smoke or whatever
mystery fog
Ominous fog is a great anti LoS tool I can't believe more people don't use it
I'm now just imagining a wargame that lets the melee armies drop rocks and smoke to compensate for more open battlefields
Warmachine had a lot of that though idk what the situation is after the rerelease
A number of warcasters could drop cover or LoS blockers or summon high ground
My understanding is that Warmachine was a combo engine builder masquerading as a wargame
I do think there are additional tensions when you add list building to narrative stuff. Clearly 40k needs more "historical" battle setups. Or encourage collaborative scenario building, including at the list building stage
Strong feeling that more inventive terrain rules make a comeback in 11th, half of people’s problems with 10th comes down to the fact that only one terrain type blocks LoS
Maybe if 40k leaned a little more into terrain as part of lists? Lean a little more into your theme by taking trenches for your deployment zone or tidewalls for tau
Pretty expensive too
They also tried that, with mixed results.
And to be good it usually has to be undercosted and then you have to buy more
Sisters had a good one that was literally just a building like
The statue had good rules too but the prime benefit was just getting to place an obscuring piece haha
Actually Getting ruins and their weirdass rules has been my major hump with the system
'imagine an invisible brick over this base basically'
Having a physical footprint template helps a lot
Put together this boy today
vashtor
On TTS they have a base but it still gets extremely strange
Extremely intuitive that you can't shoot through this
I think 90% of the issue with "l shaped ruins" is actually shit like that and irl where like
cheap terrain that exists only to provide the bare minimum of a competitive layout looks bad
and the fact that you can just run terrain off footprint means people do
but like everywhere needed cheap terrain cause to get a full board on the same budget means much less per piece of terrain
Wait, can you not see around the bases of ruins that have those big l shaped walls either
Technically speaking fabius, bile is a chaos apothecary
So we had a chaos apothecary before we had butcher surgeons yeah
The footprints of ruins block line of sight through them, yeah
If you’re standing on the footprint it’s true LoS, if you’re behind it it just blocks it
Also, huron's apothecary is a named character. Pretty sure along with this tech marine
Okay so if you are in a ruin you can't see out of the L bit but you can see through the foot
And neither if you are outside
is that the other half of the box with huron?
I think it's the same box?
Huh maybe
oh maybe not? or well unsure if they're gonna be a bundle
It’s kinda unclear to me yeah
My guess was eldar box and CSM box
As new model waves
Could be a series of books like the ones with the Lion and Vashtorr's whole thing.
It's probably a ultras vs necrons thing then a corsairs vs Huron space pirates thing
Its the end of edition narrative thing yeah
Also
It has recently been told to me that all Eldar are psykers
Which is incredibly funny
Because I really could not have told you that lmao
Yep
Yyrliet where the fuck are my lightning bolts girl
Can’t be used safely if you’re not on some specific paths she’s not on
Also one of the popular wrath and glory supplements adds Blanks as a playable option to that game
So she’s like, doing sword logic for aiming a rifle instead
so if you psyke it out a bit and do it wrong you get ate
Yeah the big freak grabs you
I did see a piece of lore recently that I find really funny
There is one place they can cast as much as they want!
Other chaos lords realms
:3
going to Nurgles garden to straight up psyke it
But they already announced that series and it’s called 500 Worlds.
Sadly you cannot give psykers a seizure by touching them
(Tbh I still think that’s kinda stupid even in the lore)
The effects of blanks are super variable in lore
They’re not super well defined except for bad vibes and psykers really don’t like em
Some lore rationalises that by making them have negative psyker levels
On top of that there’s multiple grades of psyker and multiple grades of blank yeah
Fair enough
I am sad that everyone hates blanks tho lmao
Let my antimagic boys live
With stronger psykers being able to blow out weaker blanks and vice versa
Though the upper limits of their power is pretty well defined by the assassin
And also whatever Ephrael Stern does lol
Who is invisible and can kill non psykers
Although I do have to say
Presumably Blanks of sufficient power should like
Banish demons and warp phenomena right
They can weaken and distabilize them but not usually like, automatically banish them

The big thing they do is interfere with a psyker’s connection to the warp
And daemons are just like
A little piece of the warp manifest
Daemons have to work pretty hard to get into realspace in the first place
Once they’re there they’re not really something you can just switch offf
Usually
Total sidenote
Man it’s so funny how people overhype the chaos factions to a ridiculous degree
Just saw some people talking on the dark tide subreddit about how even hearing a poxwalker moan should instantly infect you
And I’m like man that literally doesn’t make sense
If that were true nurgle would have…. Already won
That’s impossible to fight
Nurgle can’t even infect baldoids man
He blessed a cult instead because it was funny as shit they were already diseased
I think people are mixing up diseases
The Zombie Plague is the insanely infectious one
Not the Walking Pox
(And only sometimes)
chaos gets a ton of fluff text that is like "whenever a single mortal has any fun they gain infinity + 1 power and manifest 60 greater demons" but obviously this only applies when it's not actually plot-relevant
The most insanely infectious diseases Nurgle has are generally Daemon Princes. 😛
The Souldrinker books has a Daemon Prince who is just an entire planet's population because he's the disease that's in all of them.
One of the suggested wrath and glory frameworks is every PC is an ork
Which is fucking terrifying
That would be an insane campaign
I once ran a one-shot hack of the FF Rogue Trader TTRPG as Freeboota' with an all ork group.
Honestly Ork PC group isn't too far off how many groups behave anyway.
In tides, they shoot warp lightning at the sister of silence and there's just a reality around her negates, it
So
I’ve heard some people talk about the Eldar Ynnari negatively
Do yall know a reason for this because their lore blurb in wrath and glory makes them seem fucking sick as hell
Theyve been op at some points in the game
Oh lol is that it
Uh yeah pretty much
People are also sad abt them because gw doesnt develop them much
Oh fair yeah
I just think eldar that have decided to stop being bums and actually fight a hopeless war against chaos is raw as fuck
They’re cool enough I actually might look into eldar to make an army of them or something
They are super cool but if they ever succeed in lore they basically solve the whole problem that eldar suffer from so instead they either get clowned on by deathwatch or don't get lore
They basically are positioned to be doing 40k End Times Stuff but can't be allowed to do it yet
Or like
Okay
I like the idea that the war they’re on is mostly hopeless
And they’re fighting it because they gotta
That and the models you can take for ynnari change quite frequently
Like the codex in 10th changed a bunch
11th will likely change again
If you just have to collect Aeldari and non-covens drukhari
In a recent convo on another server the main pain point for the person I was talking too is basically that their whole arc kind of fizzled out
Ynarri didn't get born, but he didn't not get born
Trust us guys
Its also though that like
Idk a lot of dark imperium is doing things that were never gonna happen lol
Ynnari were also like, the only non imperial part of gathering storm
So basically: they are cool but GW is afraid of committing
And also is constantly doing codex fuckery but whatever that’s true of a good chunk of factions lmao
Even though it meant abaddon kasploding cadia it took a bit for him to get his model
Etc
We need another fall of cadia dammit
I mean not specifically another planet exploding but like
Big mixup
I mean I guess the Votann are supposed to be that now but
Looks around for codex
Uh
I dont think votann really changed a whole lot
Votann have a codex
We could blow up New Cadia
Oh shit did they actually get one?
The main recent development is idk
Last I checked they were still shit of luck on that
Tyranids are killing
Yeah Votann codex came out a few months ago
Nice
They also have a novel
Is it… cool
To both of those
Is it good
Are my boys good
Tears in my fucking eyes
Only daemons didn't get a codex
Cadia 2 fell before the Primaris Cadians did
Or I guess soon its titus and his friends rocking around ultramar
Votann got a new army rule instead of judgement tokens
I think most of the lore development happens during these end of edition campaigns
…. It’s the end of the edition?
Like aggrons aggrowave and vashtorr beating up the rock and stuff was last time
Where basically they swap between "take objectives" and "hold objectives" from round to round
Ohhhh
We need new books to sell….
Okay everybody bet what new faction is coming in 11 I bet it’s uhhh
Dog
More so a big box
Yeah GW is on a 3 year release cycle between 40K, AOS, and HH, and guess whose turn it is in 2026?
They’re adding dogmen as a whole faction
Like they started planning the next big box since before the last big box came out
Votann are fine
Some new Mashup of imperial Agents and deathwatch
Clearly they’re gonna bring back blast templates
And the game just has to keep up with that regardless of what that means for like. The ability to write good rules
There are dog men but they’re actually lizardmen
And some of them live in the tau
This is me looking at GW btw
