To make the army less punishing to purchase
Wait leagues got the opposite sorry
They released in 9E overtuned and their points increased so much they started costing (in points) like space marines
Despite an intended identity of a middleweight power armor army like SoB
wild
Tbh I thought they were statted like dwarf marines
T5 4+ 1W on the warriors is such a funky profile
With a 6+++ too lmao what is this
They still kinda are, but with high toughness and low wound profiles
Had the pleasure of playing GSC into aspect host today, kelermorph is the first to be painted for the honor of killing an entire unit of banshees on his own
Pretty sure that thing was built in a lab to crush elves
Host of Ascension dropping guys down, ignore cover and sustained hits, you’re averaging a full six hits into banshees at wound on 2s and forcing invulns
And then if they move literally at all, you do that shit again at full effectiveness that gets thru their no-overwatch trick
Banshees thrive into heavy infantry so gsc will be a bad match up unless it's into like abberants
Banshees are usually at a 5++invuln against ranged which is rough
That much is true, though they’ll happily do about the same into scorpions.
Stealth nets you one less hit on average but you’re still shredding a much costlier unit and have the privilege of waiting to drop outta deep strike to do it
Slight suspicion this guy will never let me position that again, or at least try—but a single 32mm is hard to block out like that
scorpions would work better into gsc no? Higher volume attacks, better base save and all that
Scorpions have a better armor save and stealth
But yeah getting deep strikes hurts as aeldari
Though kelermorph has ap2 so that still puts them on invuln wow
oh i was just thinking in general
rather than into kelermorph
man i wish combat patrol was a bit better; cause i really like it as a conceptual play style.
I will say though, as far as when I've watched games, they come out way closer than i expect considering the point disparity
The datasheets are altered often so points don't really accurately describe the sheets
I'm a big fan of the "self contained, ready to build and play, single box" format. Really appeals to a sense of agility
Oh yeah played in aeldari once and they got kicked
Uehehhehe
Oh hey it’s Big Bird
The necrons has some great centerpiece models
He's showing you the way to sesame street
Six detachments, sound pretty cool
Slaanesh STAYS winning get FUCKED stinky legion
Poxwalker one doesn’t give respawns, instead you just get more squads even if the old ones all still alive
I know they’re cheap squads but that’s still like a hundred something extra points
Also a WE article for anyone who didn’t peek the leaks
summoning is back??????
Sorta, you just get a set number of extra poxwalker squads as your detachment rule, that come in as reserves in the middle turns.
At 2k it's 10 a turn on 2,3,4 for a total of 30 across the game.
interesting
Also it’s seven if you include Flyblown Host, what was EC’s grotmas detachment? :D
Oh nevermind the grandfather is pleased
Getting a squad on round 5 for onslaught sized games is pretty funny
Flyblown might actually be good now that “pick a plague” is part of the army rule instead of the index detachment
Endless Swarm should have been free units instead of move after being shot lol (apparently my pet peeve is how badly that rule is for a horde army for game ergonomic reasons)
This one might be a lesson learned from that
Having a single horde unit probably helps for the rule too
Someone should design a wargame where you can push infantry around with a croupier stick
That probably exists for non-recreational focused wargames
thats just those group bases
Return to square base
Can't we just bring back movement trays?
You can, nothing is stopping you (other than suboptimal gameplay)

In this Video I am trying to apply my Grimdark approach to Chaos Space Marines. This must have been the most requested video ever since I first put out my Grimdark Blood Angels video. So today we paint the new Emperor's Children Marines in this iconic style!
Thank...
"Highlighting" with black is a neat trick
Oh shit I saw this guy’s post I gotta save this
He was clearly not OSHA certified
Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows
I wonder if invocatus will be able to lead a unit of bloodletting on juggernauts
Do we know if the Nurgle and Khorne demons are getting as nerfed as the Slaanash ones in the upcoming WE and DG codexes?
The expectation I think is all the changes made it into Daemon index 2.0
I love DG vehicles but I don't need another army. Pain
Get a single kit and just go ham painting it as a display piece?
Yeah
Probably will once my backlog is smaller
Wait I misread. They are in the codex but what nerfed slaanesh demons?
Or offer to paint a friend who has DG
When the Emperor's Children codex came out, it made a bunch of Slaanashi demons quite a bit weaker compared to the previous index datasheets
Daemonettes where the only buff because they got fights first
I think you are missing a word?
decided to have a clooser look at EC and noise marines aren't battleline
In fairness 6 units of them would be a devastating amount of shooting
like I would have been ok with it if the troops got like sonic special weapons but they only get plasma/meltaguns
They get a LOT of those though
It's funny that EC are the only cult legion without their most iconic "generic" legionaire be battleline. TS got battleline rubric marines, WE got battleline berserkers, DG got battleline plague marines, and yet EC doesn't get battleline noise marines.
I'll be honest that the Noise Marines got a glow up to be a non battleline unit though.
I would take 6 units with their current rules if they did.
As it stands I'm pretty much starting EC lists with two units of them at minimum.
Honestly they do seem impressive and have me weary to face against with either drukhari or knights.
Knights are probably still fairly safe as only the Blastmasters can punch hard enough.
They have a lot of middle range firepower while being relatively tough
Still a lot of shooting.
Yup, Knights are going to want to avoid the Infractor/Lord blob
Dark reapers have taught me that volume fire mid-strength weapons is pretty nasty against almost every army
S10 Ap2 D3 my beloved
Think of that as Penance for choosing to play (or at least paint) the furry army.
As someone who will be running as many blast masters as possible I agree
Outside of melee yeah. Flawless blades gotta carry the matchup otherwise
even the blades dont seem efficent enough to not get stomped
Without Lucy they don’t measure up well.
Lethal hits from your Infractors+Lord, Maulerfiends, Fulgrim, and Lucy+FBlades should all be pretty solid melee threats though
Canonically, that's exactly what he is currently? He's palling around the eye of terror and b eating up chaos and Lorgar
Actually it would be pretty metal to find out that Corax actually found Logar a few millennia ago and they’ve just been duking it out since since both of them are just too hard to kill
Not that they’re not doing their damnedest to try
-# ↩ William B. Fuckley (@opinionhaver.bsky.social)
You know, the black crusades must by necessity have a pretty robust DEI infrastructure to get their troops of the cults of various murder gods who hate each other to cooperate. Abaddon the despoiler is by necessity extremely woke.

abbadon is like rainbow capitalism
i think abbadon is cool
for murder
also why do you say so?
abbadon is a bastard, bent to his own ends and always willing to expend those disparate warbands at the drop of a hat to gain more power for the black legion, hes not a true ally
ooooh
yeah fair
also
he isnt really devoted to chaos is he?
from what i see he's just making chaos gods happy for the benefits
Wait don't EC get land raiders?
I figure maulerfiends are credible big melee and land raiders are credible big anti armor
Yeah but you have to pay for a whole Land Raider
considering how infantry centric and how useful it is to have a sheltered delivery mechanism, i feel like thats not a huge ask; unless you mean irl
he's like shitty Constantine.
On one hand you pay for a land raider on the other you get an entire land raider
Hmmm
Yknow kinda strange in hindsight that the inquisition doesn’t really have its own army anymore given how important a player it is
They get 3 technically
With the chamber militant armies
But the inquisition isn’t strictly a military force itself
Sisters are the formal chamber militant though
They’re not they’re a part of the church but they’re the Oreo Hereticus Chamber Militant - basically their chosen favored military limb they primarily work with
(Similar to the Grey Knights and Deathwatch)
Except the GK are sort of a branch of the inquisition themselves but not strictly the Ordo Malleus
They're each their own sovereign organisation that end up being THE guys for each branch of the inquisition to do military actions when taking over normal military forces or using inquisitorial stormtroopers arent enough
cause like the inquisition isn't actually an army
they have like deeply intertwining obligations and oaths that make them teh chamber militant
Following his reappearance sometime after the Heresy, Corax became empowered by the Warp itself. Able to contend with the Daemon Primarch Lorgar, Corax is now capable of transforming himself into shadows, darkness, and unkindnesses of ravens.[13]
From Shadow of the Past by gav thrope. Corvus has literally become a horrible warp shadow beastie who's mulching up chaos Marines and attacking lorgar when he gets a chance
Yeah I know that bit
And there's jokes about Lorgar hiding away in his warp fortress or w/e from Corax's wrath
(The Deathwatch though are actually just space marine summer camp started by the Imperial Fists but they linked up with the inquisition during simultaneous reforms)
But it'd be much more metal if they were just locked in battle for millennia as unkillable daemon vs unkillable warp shadow beastie
Lorgar: I AM TRYING TO READ
angry crow noises
Wait so DW and BT are both Fists offshoots?
Yeah
inquisitor hector rex made the entire army of kreig on vraks part of his retinue
Black Templars are from the Heresy with Sigsimund’s dangerous pals
(for the remaining siege, he gave them back afterward)
And the Deathwatch was started by Koorland - the sole surviving Imperial Fist after the war of the beast
The other stubborn casualty enjoyers do NOT compare to the fists
i mean yes but alos
its 40k
they could do the inquisition as a faction
:p
effectively, inquisition never had its own army, though it does have a volume of inquisitorial stormtroopers; its primarily just inquisitors requisitioning what they need when they need from almost anyone
with preference to their respective chamber militants
they're like... the quintessential soup faction
unless ur karamazov
that man has 1 setting and its screaming from a walking war throne infront of his personal army
The real inquisition army is the funky monkey
(where you deploy a massive amount of jokero and hope you get to go first in the turn order)
if agents do return in 11th i shall be demanding a monkey
err
orangutan for the sake of the librarian
Crimson Fists really went for it too.
But really you get that Dorn in you and you go right on for it.
Who are the big "I lived bitch" chapters? Lamenters, Crimson Fists, Imperial Fists, Raven Guard, Raptors?
Celestial Lions didn't live right?
i think they are still kicking technically
Flesh Tearers are stil laround right, just got legendsd with gabriel seth
yeah we got pushed back a few editions
are the soul drinkers still like loyalist renegades or did they go full chaos?
witch is a little weird, FT is strangely popular
Most recent a Cadilius assassin took the head off their chapter master.
So, alive but parts of the inquisition are real mad at them still
soul drinkers are gone iirc
Not the fists haha
Og soul drinkers are gone. Theres a primaris chapter that inherited their name and heraldry, but I don't know their actual status
They’ve taken essentially 100% casualties multiple times and get reconstituted by painting their successors yellow
Which works really well for them because the Fists handle recruiting for a lot of their successors through the Phalanx
that explains why we dont get a real chapter master for the sentinels of terra
just a name and no model
Oh yeah the burn through chapter masters like crazy
one of the reasons i like fists
yeah their just all dead sort of like 50 several times
Imperial Agents feels a decent bit like inquisition as a faction because inquisitors make up most of your epic heroes and are good enough to almost always take
tangent, i know land raiders are iconic, but like if you had to assign land raider-ing to a chapter, who'd you give it to
The imperial fists afterlife must be a very awkward game of who's on first. "We're the fists!," "no, we are"
space wolves
or templars
damn i already did a land raider space wolves list lol
depending on the model of land raider
it was actually effective too
templars got a whole ass land raider made of em
given i wasnt playing against highly skilled opponents, but 3 landraiders and like 30 blood claws was pretty good
and two drop pods with melta equipped grey hunters
man long beards are probably gonna be gone huh
Aurora Chapter
Green colored Ultramarine successor focused on armor ops
Boasts the biggest armory pool of any chapter since they basically operate out of a forge world
i bet they and the raptors throw dirty looks at each other
I think I am hangin up necrons tonight till 11th 🫠
I am now 0-2 into a guy who admits he needs chatgpt to build his lists
At a complete loss at how to trade into deathwing
Surely, GSC will feel better than a bunch of overcosted stat sticks who don’t actually Kill

Hopefully its at least some fresh air
Different play style at least
As I understand it you play big into "eyes on the prize, play the objective" and not not nearly as much into "kill the other guy"
I think I’d care less about necrons killing if they had interesting ways to score
But atm they’re really just ‘walk a unit here and hope your enemy doesn’t focus fire’
And they’re very very slow at that outside Hypercrypt
Hypercrypt and starshatter are the main comp detachments? With the destroyer one being kind of an off meta sleeper?
Oh god no the destroyer one is dogshit
Literally worst detach in the game for the entire edition
I understand obeisance phalanx was bottom of the bunch?
Awakened Dynasty is meta now, mostly due to a statcheck of Orikan+warriors+reanimator+ghost ark
HCL and Starshatter have both gotten pretty significant nerfs
Awakened dynasty seems like it's pretty solid for beginners or people trying em out too, in that you get your benefits by just bringing leaders
I feel bad that I’m in here bitchin’ about it but like goddamn lmao I miss old Gauss I miss old Tesla
I’d forgive Immortals being 1 wound if they had their old firepower
I kinda wish they were two wound simply on the principle that they're supposed to be tougher than a space marine
inquisition army is basically just taking imperial agents in any of the three chamber militant factions. its honestly really weird that they didnt get scions when they added requisitioned units though haha
like inquisitorial stormtroopers are the only thing really missing from being able to make a witch hunters/daemon hunters list
or a theoretical xenos hunters one
id probably proxy breachers or something
Going back a bit, there's scuttle butt that sigismund and thus the templars are actually from one of the lost primarchs dur to the fists taking legionaries from the lost legions and that dorn said sigismund isn't his son
A 20 or 10 stack of warriors?
20, 10 warriors is pretty bad rn
Way too easy to kill in an activation which is the only thing they have going for them, hedged reanimation protocols with every buff

The 4+ FNP on a skorp lord is also pretty tough actually
No.
Yeah thought so
But it does mean whole army on 2s, warriors/canopteks/crypteks on 3s
I almost forgot the pistols on the Wraiths
I need to get a mounted destroyer lord. Are people make making conversion for them?
Base size is same as a Heavy, people usually take a spare stick off a Lord
I think I got an upper torso from a triarch pretorian around. Should also work on a heavy base I bet
finally, worst wheel primaris lieutenant
Are grey knights part of the inquisition or their own thing?
They’re own thing but in a complicated way
Since they were also founded by Malcador who also started the inquisition
Malcador did a lot of that.
All the chambers militant are kinda independent
they're, at least inso far as their own org and stuff, explicitl not part of the inquisition, but have deep ties and obligations to it via oaths
the grey knights often do act on their own, and a grand master of the inquisition is not remotely beholden to the inquisition at any level
the inquisition lacks the grey knights ability to identify and intercept daemonic incursions with the same speed an acuity
Prognosticators be like that.
I was excited it might be a Votann preview but then I saw the little skull and sighed
Might be a Knights thing, a cap for one of the weapons or power plants.
Are chamber militant like militias of the inquisition?
they're the like oathbound military force preferred by their respective branch of hte inquisition
the grey knights, for example, are the chamber militant of the ordo malleus; so when push comes to shove and an ordo malleus inquisitor needs to bring the hammer down, they call upon the grey knights
when the ordo xenos needs to hunt down a specific alien target, they call upon the deathwatch
when the ordo hereticus needs to assault a heretic or traitor bastion, they call on the adepta sororitas
and the arrangement isnt that they belong to the inquisition, its that they have a sort of "we have an arrangement, call and we'll come" sort of situation
where ultimately they CAN say no. Grey knight grandmasters i think are inclined to tell inquisitors to fuck off sometimes
and the deathwatch watchmasters sometimes do the space marine 2 thing, where an inquisitor is like hey give me a kill team and the watchmaster is like "best i can do is 2 guys"
Cool
Maybe another 30k mechanicus robot lol
The sororitas don't really have the ability to turn down the Inquisition though and also the militant wing on the imperial church
Really the sororitas exist because the imperial church is "not allowed to have men at arms" along with a whole reign of blood thing
The sisters exist to kill the imperial church
The decree passive is a posthoc justification that makes zero sense
The church isnt allowed to raise a militia of women either
Theyre just allowed to keep their executioners
And the only real difference authority wise between sisters and the space marine ones is that they have like. Way more tiers of power
The top is still just as untouchable
Its just the bottom goes deeper whereas eventually you run out of less significant assets when dealing with deathwatch
But like a kill team isn’t equivalent to a squad of sisters
Idk if the sisters have something that is like elite specialization for heretic hunting like what the deathwatch & grey knights are...
Nothing immediately comes to memory for me
For one thing, theyre actually equipped to be an occupying force
Faith makes them resistant and uniquely powerful and then theres just training
A confessor-canoness would be a cool model
To finish this point what I mean is like when you have the equivalent resources to bring in a kill team you are bringing like. An army formation of sisters
Because their numbers are part of what makes them good
Datasheet previews for the new guys
(Odd that they pick a multi-god daemons army for the diorama pic on a DG/WE article... and also include a legends unit)
DG gonna become a nightmare if they still get a double leader rule on the fights-first boy and start slapping in 18” lone op
Also this was revealed Sunday, but it's very funny to me that the DG combat patrol has the most boring Rhino paintjob either
GW seems allergic to making chaos rhinos look fucked up and weird.
Not even the Nurgle or DG emblem on the side
But you know that most DG players with a Rhino would be slathering it with the grossest textures even if not putting extra bits on it
That's the problem when 10 different armies share the same model
They have to advertise them with only what's in the box
I know but come on, at least do some texture work
Throw in a pair of DG rhino doors at least.
Dab on some more muck besides that little bit above the treads
The main point of Eavy Metal paint jobs is to showcase the model itself
Can't obscure details or add texture
Make an exception for Rhinos, b/c there's gonna be a dozen different Rhinos paintjobs to look at for the same dang model
(More if you count Razorbacks and Preds and Vinds)
I'm just saying the policy is pretty clear
I'd be almost surprised if the rhino doesn't get a refresh like the drop pod in a few years
Slightly scaling up the kits
Maybe chaos can get a razorback (cope)
Razorback boars are already pretty nasty irl tbh
Yeah but it’s traditional for chaos to get the same thing but edgier
Fair lol
Righteous Fury vs Zealous Hatred and so on
The feral hog
Ironically this is often like
A class name the Imperium makes
Maybe they should stop making “Despoiler” class ships and such
Admittedly the Tyrant is a loyalist class lol
“Huh, weird how the ship class Betrayer keeps turning traitor”
“I’m sure the new class of Avarice frigates will have no issues”
Hang on i just realized something. We know a species that is older than the war in heaven
The necron pet species, the skolopendra. There's desendents of them in twice dead king
"Why would he name his favorite son Heresy, that's crazy?'
First Name De, Last Name Ceiver
They actually did stop making specific patterns because of this, some are still floating around but their either mothballed or carefully watched
Feels like a mean move on gws part to daemon players lol but maybe im biased here
This daemon split is the worst timeline
We have khorne daemonkin at home
Khorne Daemonkin at home: no more daemons except 1000pts in one detachment
they're not getting rid of the chaos daemons index
oh that is dumb
Chariots came back?
I dont like that the nurgal sword and the melee of the WE slaughter bound are the same profile lmao
Oh wait didn't catch that nurgal blade as leathal hits and devi wounds
I dunno as long as they do something better for the daemon khorne detatchment later i dont care what happens with WE
But have you considered this?
"Bwud fo da bwud god! Kuls fo da kul fwone!"
im gonna give Kharn an evil cat
the cat shall also be devoted to khorn
that's just atrocitus the red lantern guy now
Evil cat is redundant
Good cat is indispensable for this organization and will be promoted accordingly
Also bah! The new WE combat patrol is great but I don't want to build more jakels
And the zerkers i have are sitting in my pile of shame for months
Testing Dirty Down rust on black primer
Kinda wondering if it works or not
Funny enough dirty down on no primer leads to much brighter rust
I think to get my WE army going again I'm going to need the new combat patrol, 2 more rhinos and another fiend. Bad news on that, as I said, I really don't want to build more jackals
And them buy some korne demons?
I'm very meh on the whole things
Leadbelcher + Dirty Down

OUGH
I am in love
Now i need to find a secondary color for my boys

I love it, I feel like if i licked them I would get that good oxidation taste. And tetanus
That's if you can see them :>
I'm gonna swap from Firestorm to Vanguard >:)
yes
heavy infantry with fog machines that look like deep sea divers
Loyalists?
I don't need LOS to charge :3
Why do i only see traitors with power claws? Is it because claws are more evil looking?
thought of that after looking at that terminator
It's more that it's an old thing
Like
Plus titans have power claws
Tyberous kinda has a powerclaw
Hmmm what are they implying with that title and showing 2 necrons model....
or well
heresy is kinda built on the idea that csm stuff + old stuff is just what the era looked like
There's also that i guess
so the scary claw finger thing is to be evil and scary
You know who else gets a power claw?
No!
Necrons
alas
since weapons don't actually get lore anymore
there's not really any way to know what a flensing claw's deal is
being consistenly ap-1 though, it's very unlikely to be comparable to a lightning claw
I think right now they can still take 500 pts from the index but it’s silly that they can’t use the datasheets in their own damn codex for it
no the index got updated to exclude cult legions
Oh it got updated again?
Damn, any other changes or just that big middle finger?
it's now chaos knight and heretic astartes only
karanak back
chariots back apparently
It's funny how models for characters I didn't care about become way cooler once I read the novel they're from
Like Valerian was just "some dude" until I started reading the novels
I mean.
It's a claw.
For flensing.
seems pretty straightforward tbh
It’s essentially identical to the flayed one claws, those are pretty explicitly just big knives
Higher base attacks, higher strength cuz Lord
As someone who recently build all 3 of the necron "mancers"
Necron models make me want to die
Its all fine and dandy when putting a warrior or immortal together
But the Aprentec or the Psychomancer have small heads, The psychomancer has a fucking MESS of tentacles and limbs and fiddly bits that have very little surface to grip
All the Balljoint to like 2 connection points the Chronomancer has (I bought orkhan specifically)
The technomancer was FINE
but the arms are still tough
The push to fit plasmancer is simple enough gladly
worst necrons models are easily scythe lychguard and then like... ophydians
szeras has a reputation but I had zero problems with him, moreso that subassembly is mandatory if you care abt painting
I have never built orphidans and don't think I will
honestly the ark up there, also fine
just once again, Subassembly is mandatory if you care about paintjob
On ark?
yup. The ribcage things and the interior gun become nigh impossible to paint well if you glue it all in at once
so you do the carriage part | the gun | each rib
Also if you haven't assembled any arks yet I got a 3d-print part to make em magnetize easy peasy, you assemble as DDA and magnetize the gun + this part, hang the warriors for the ghost ark upside down from it so they drop out the bottom
I wanna run the destroyer detach sometime, prolly gonna do it via tts so I spend no money to mess around with steroided flayers
I've not magnetized them
Funnily enough my list has no flayers
1 of each and I think that's all I need
Sometimes GW models do things that I go "wow cool, that's a neat way to hide mold lines and gaps" and sometimes I wonder if the person in charge of splitting the model up into a sprue is full of hate
Fricken Tyranid carapaces split into three parts width wise seem perfectly made to make gaps that are really annoying to fill
yuup
Your wounding terminators on 3 with reroll hits of 1
Chuck on a s lord and then you have ap-2 lethal hits
Extremely, they're kinda the only real melee threat in faction besides ctan shards/Szeras/Silent King
the tradeoff is frankly they're not that tough, and their base sizes are colossal. If you play on WTC terrain you basically have to run min-units with a Lord to maximize potential
any bigger and they simply do not fit behind most cover
Hmm OK, so when I play destroyers I'm betting on my ability to get them into the cookie jar pretty much
My experience going up against them is that they die to any decent shooting pointed at them before they close the distance
Are melee destroyers infantry?
You have to be sneaky getting melee infantry into combat if they don't move super fast. But "lurk on the other side of a wall near an objective" is a classic aiui
They are infantry but they have big bases
The main problem they have is being T6, 3+, 3W with no invuln
At 30ppm
Anything good at killing terminators absdoltely shreds them because of the no invuln
They're way more eof a glass cannon than the model would suggest
Oh, yeah that sucks. Totally exocrine fodder lol
Rapid-ingressing them in might work?
Sadly there are no big vehicles that are members of the destroyer cult or a flayer
They do have access to the heavy destroyers that can potentially pick out big enemy targets
The lord has a 4++but the rest of the unit just evaporates to anything in the realm of ap2 d3
yeah somewhat. they stay off the radar most of the time
You might be better off not using Annihilation Legion even if you like destroyers. I think it is considered fairly weak? Though, iirc, re-rolls on charge does mean you have about a 50-50 from coming in off reserves if you want to go that route
+1 to charge if below half strength is such a bizarre rule
That's real good, I'll need to get some for my Into the Dark terrain
Dirty Down Rust.
Truly Peak
Nice one! I have a dream of making it all rusted and overgrown with vegetation
oh i know its considered weak, I just wanna try it out. Thats why id do it in tts for a casual game or two
That's totally fair
If you do get tired of Annihilation Legion (straight up worst detach in the game atm)
They absolutely crank in AD still, and giving a skorp lord 4+ FNP and a 1/game rez for 1CP will drive people to drink
AD?

On their base sizes it's super hard to hide and get into melee properly
I thought melee rules had it you can be a rank deep and still be in melee
It is. Big bases can still be awkward
Especially with how charging units behind walls work
Sometimes the map layout can screw you or you can just be unable to charge through a wall too
Yeah
Rarely do the people I play doing what one would call "offical terrain layouts"
On anything resembling current tourney terrain the full brick + lord is not gonna fit into LOS-denial and its way too easy to pop a real unit of shooting in to just waste a unit beyond what reanimation has real hopes of fixing.
If you use lots of terrain? Rock on, I just can’t give advice for a meta I have no accounts of
The other thing though we must think about. If they focus the skorps, that a c'tan shard getting closer to them
And vise versa
I just like to run the flavor/ bad detachments in an environment where it costs me nothing
Call me a masochist I guess, I like to get a feel for why they're bad directly
And sometimes it can make for more unexpected/ fun games when the opponent is also just kinda trying stuff out
I still want to try to run the custodes hero detachment
I want to do that to get a mass of single model terminators just clowning around
Oh! Lions
My friend likes the social distancing Custodes detachment because that's how he was playing them anyways (instead of as a giant deathball that sweeps across the board)
And hey, someone did win with the Custodes detachment everyone thinks is terrible
(granted that was because most of the army was not sisters lol)
Social distancing?
Do they have a bonus to operating away from each other?
Hey now! It was sisters and their big friend and friends
+1 to hut and wound!
It's a pretty good stat increase (though moreso the wound part as they already mostly hit on 2s)
I was explaining to a friend how there are orks made of fungi in 40k and that for some reason they are all British
Fungus thrive in high humidity and Britain is very moist
Everyone else is also British
Space Brits
I coulda done better but for my first time doing dry brushing (without my glasses too so it's sorta sloppy)
But. All in all
I think it ain't that bad
oh no that's cool
That blue really pops
Temple blue or something I think is what it's called
Temple guard blue carries a lotta my highlighting
40k is the story of God creating the British and the consequences for everyone else
Wow that looks really weird, but in a good way
Like the colors you see on some of those semi-transparent deep sea fish
That was the plan ngl
I originally wanted to do a manta ray
So I air brushed it black. Then I wanted to do like, a purple nudibranch. Purple turned out bad tho
Nudibranch btw. I kinda just gave up, chose a random purple I have, slapped it on, used some temple guard. And yippee, it turned out good :)
Well also football hooligans
Damn bro, the only cool thing here is reborn in blood
When your primarch can't compete with Skarbrand
You mean Factiongutter
Because thats what I'm sure will happen given my luck here lmao
I wouldn't even care if they just make skarbrand another 100 points (Because i'm sure angrons going to be like 400 or something)
Wait what changed?
Nothing, Just bein worried, The daemon specific detachments from the new codex doesn't fill me with hope.
And s4 berserkers feels
Eh
All of Angron's Wrathful Presence abilities were reworked and are largely significantly worse, Reborn in Blood now returns him with half wounds rather than full, and he lost 2S/1 AP off Strike, 1S off Sweep
His attacks did all gain Devastating Wounds though
So that's some benny
also kinda screws your army outta some stuff because you trade in 3 of your blessing dice for it
That's always been the case
it just seems less worth it now
Devi wounds is fine but i always felt like a unit like him always killed anything it touched anyway so
I mean it is
Angron was such a distorting thing in WE listbuilding on account of the full respawn not really being priced in
I mean, I'll be real, besides Wrathful Advance being kinda shit on these are pretty reasonable changes. Angron has been the competitive lynchpin of WE since the army existed
This, yeah
Goonhammer has called Index Berserker Warband a "solved army" for a while now
That's bad
Yeah thats fair
Still nervous about taking on WE with both chaos and Imperial knights.
I think the only innovation I’ve seen was ‘lol. lmao. Double lord of skulls’ and. Man.
WE always had a single gameplan
as part of CSM it was part of a toolkit, hyper aggression backed by tanks or arty or any of the giant bucket of toys and now its like watching a limping dog
You can make khorne have tricks is the thing that bums me out, like you could just port Blades of Khorne’s ruleset to 40k and it would shred
But WE has to be the unga bunga meme
Blades of Khorne is actually a really scary aggro chess & tempo army, they got some other tricks to force you to charge them etc
AoS Skull cannon shoots every time it kills models in melee, give their forgefiend or a new ranged unit something like that
Yeah, Blades of Khorne is far, far more interesting in terms of things it does
the juggernaut cav remains big charge deeps guys but that's fine that's Cavalry. The infantry turns into a big moshpit of everybody hyping everybody else up, the nakey cultists as cheap screens who charge blood tithe up real good and blood warriors + wrathmongers as huge anvil units
the ten billion priests is a thing but that's not as necessary in 40k
great news, Mortarion's now hitting harder than Angron The Combat Boy lmaooooo
death guard glazing is endless
Who'd win in a fight,
Dude with Bloodthirster in his body
Or Stinky boy with slab of sword
one less attack, 2 effective higher strength thanks to stank aura, he's finally damage 2 on the sweep, warmaster auras are some sicknasty reactive plays
He has a ranged attack too lmao
and death guard randomly has a full range for like zero identifiable reason
dude i'm still shocked they didn't give angron even a basic bloodthirster breathe attack
everything previewed for them is just straight buffs across the board besides maybe no more nurglings by default
Flumoxed
The leaders in power armor are like all T6 now which also implies T7 terminators
DG might be the highest selling non imperium faction
I dark imperium was the first box set a lot of people bought and it got so many dg players into the community
Strong models, broad base and way fucking easier to paint than normal csm
Angron changes made me feel less bad about Fulgrim but then I saw the Morty buffs and had to clench my cheeks
Honestly? Morty is great for his legion, but he's still likely to lose to Fulgrim now.
Ironically the group I usually game with are all on a roller coaster with these reveals
Points cost will really make or break how even they feel.
Naw Morty wins that fight. Pretty sure it was auspex tactics did the math. Fulgrim loses to Magnus (provided Magnus gets a shooting phase), Morty and Cainis rex
For the record I'm an EC main and my 3 friends are DG, WE and TS mains respectively
He did the math using old morty who had -1 damage aura.
Damn I do wish xenos had some flashy giant dudes
New morty doesn't have that, and Fights First is a hell of a drug.
So relief, elation, depression and fear are filling out group chat lol
Wraithknights are in the same point ballpark but they are way more plain IMO
I'd say the avatar of Khaine is almost on the same level
like it's definitely not as hype as a primarch but similar ballpark
Whole army t6/t7 lmfao
GW really said nobody’s allowed to be tough except stank ass
What are the world eater gunners doing to the autocannons
Rapid Fire 2 for the CSM predator destructor
Close, but he's fairly overcosted at 300pts so definitely more like a primarch than a daemon primarch
I gotta go check what his statline clocks at
Nightbringer's a little overcosted too but he at least picks ether of these guys up very few questions asked
Orks seem like they would make Khorne happy. Maybe they took inspiration from them
(I'm guessing it's a typo?)
It might be a typo
The Predator Destructor is mostly a “skip it” data sheet these days though
Though I'm sure Khorne hates it when a paindoc successfully reattaches an ork head
The combi bolter being two attacks base but RF 4 and the heavy bolter being 3 attacks base but RF2 are also weird
GSC seismic guns work the same iirc, rapid fire 2 but different sizes have different base attacks
clearly its to rub in the wound made by the things we can't have (lore-accurate WE tank company)
honestly thats kind of a gnarly predator
competes against plasma forgefied and loses as i understand it; more of a bring it cause its what you have or you just like it kind of situation
tbh i really do like the predator in general
its a cool tank
just doesnt really like... generally stand up on the sm or the csm to its competition
on its own merit though i do think it can perform admirably
and the predator destructor makes for a good generalist when you bring lascannon sponsons
My friend is Happy
I think the Annihilator is p good
for sm its got too much comptetition, but i think its solid on csm
i think its actually fine on sm too, its just a question of "Pred annihilator OR lancer OR ballistus OR repulsor executioner'
hmm who's a good candidate for making a "Classic 1st gen marines" list?
i know atm its pretty much just tac marines, devastators, and terminators right?
as far as infantry
Terminators and scouts are also ok
I was gonna say marneus calgar
Unfortunately just about everything is primarised now with space Wolves getting their rework
Yeah 1st generation coded is enough
I feel like assault intercessors with jump packs are so close to being standard assault marines too
They're basically assault marines, yeah
For sure
I wish Demon Primach Angron had a more interesting visual design, it just does zilch for me
(for comparison, I quite like Morty and Fulgrim's designs as a general design level thing)
Might just be a vibes thing for you? I've seen a fair few people who love his design
thats just what khorne's stuff look like sadly
In book it was 420
Do we even have skarbrands new rules?
they're the same as his rules in the chaos daemons index, except without the bit that interacts with Shadow of Chaos
Found a good example for what the flesh of my Tyranid is supposed to represent cause it's colourful in some spots
Tyrasquid
I didn't just fuck up and put extra paint in a spot I didn't mean to I swear
It's lore guys, lore
The best kinda lore is just excuses for mistakes
Skarbrand my beloved
A very good off-brand Angron/Skarbrand is Creature Caster, which I got a couple for a friend of mine.
Creature caster stuff is amazing
Wanted to get some stuff for ruinstorm daemons
I did not get them off CC tho lmao that cost me like $30 for both
They sure did!
(not shown: the big one on the left has loving sculpted uh..."skulls" between the thighs)
(no I don't know why the company did that)
I mean given the rest of the range Id call them cowards if they didnt
Lmaooo
Thats a lotta daemons
Yeah he wants ALL the big angry khorne/baelor style demons.
I give'em some friendly gruff for not finishing any of'em tho.
looks like they got enough bloodthirster proxies to recreate the first war for armageddon.
Yeah lol
He's missing like...4 GW bloodthirsters: the very OG metal one from the RT era, the FW one, the current plastic kit and Skarbrand. Angron as well.
I 3d printed mine from someone that ripped the models and touched em up form TW3
Big fan
You get three guesses as to what collecting that army would say about you, and the first two don't count
You share the middle-right square with CSM
the lack of imperial guard is kinda ironic
I dunno why AdMech is listed, they already know
Notice how Astra militarum isn’t present
I want some external thoughts
How would you make this mini look more like a lieutenant/higher ranking space marine?
Banner pole and different helmet color can do a lot.
That would be captioned with "you spend way too much money on miniatures"
(though AdMech should get that too)
Sooo like one of these?
Yeah. That makes'em stand out a lot more.
Great
I DO have an ancient proxy
But i want a neat looking guy with a combi weapon or something
Should I run a ghostkeel Battlesuit in my list??
Kauyon btw
I play against a Deathguard player and a guard player primarily
Because my friends Run a lot of anti armour, so being able to nuhuh a hunter missile
dont expect it to be hyper lethal tho
I mean, I'm running Kauyon, so I'm gonna be really slow for a bit
I think I could have the ghostkeel out turn 1 because of the Lone Op
So it can somewhat harass my friends models as they push up the midboard, supporting the infantry and using the nuhuh damage when he gets close enough
absolutely, you can also flex it a bit by having in front to screen out scout moves
Also they're BADASS. they are sick
but be careful of enemy speedy chargers, in those cases deploy back
kauyon gets hall of mirrors shenanigans right?
Kauyon is the BR3 type stuff so maybe?
I know they have a stratagem to reduce charge rolls by 2
Yes, Kauyon have hall of mirrors
Photon grenades + combat embarkation stratagems do actually help against that
And I do wanna run a few transports because gun and because I want my boys to be safe
Are riptides any good?
Fuck it's taking every fiber of my being to not pick up a storm surge
Something something it's better to buy models for their looks than their rules
I know but I do care about money because it's uh
240 fucking bucks😭
Riptide is like 150+
BUT THE STORM SURGE IS SOOOO COOL
THEYRE BOTH SO COOL
I got paid today so I'm like AAA
Ebay might land you a cheaper deal for a Stormsurge.
LGS tho
I like supporting the small businesses in my town because we don't have much going on for hobby shops
Okay the devastating wounds from the riptide plus Kauyon sustained hits 2 and the invul save AND it's cheap pts wise
Imma go for it
Riptides are good because they’re some of the only firing platforms that can take a hit in tau
They’re the closest thing you have to anvils I think, best formulated for blowing up terminator equivalents
Rule of buying what you like painting and seeing on the table holds true though. Rules will always come around and go around.
Stormsurge is like most knight-sized models and a little awkward to justify in a lot of lists
Riptide looks like it either shreds teq or meq dependent on what guns you give it
And 2+ 4++ with fall back and shoot is no slouch either
Yea. I also plan to do a somewhat infantry heavy list
Widdle down the enemy and try to hold objectives and score secondaries
Then to ensure a W, drop in my heavy hitters, which are my Battlesuits which have been sitting in deep strike
Other than the ghostkeel of course. Because lone op, im not worried about him being shot off right off rip
Ghostkeels are tough but also don't shoot very hard
Also thier damage blanking doesn't dodge melta bonus damage
The point of the ghostkeel is to be a threat and divert attention from my smol squishy infantry
Not sure tbh
I need to finalize like my vehicle/suit list and then I'll build around that a bit
Tau infantry just evaporate when looked at
I do have strikers to reduce the enemy's hit chance
Yeah, that's why I need some transports for sure. That's also why I got a ghostkeel. I want my boys alive till turn 3
I gtg
You will need something to do T1 and T2 lol
If your go turn is always T3 (because you have to bring in units from reserves by then) then it can be pretty easy to screen you out on that turn
So sometimes not fully loading everything in DS can be good
Push midboard with a ghostkeel and transports. Supported possibly by two broadsides for the anti tank
Both broadsides will be getting guided by a pathfinder team being led by Darkstrider for the anti deepstrike 12"
ill echo others, the riptide isn't particular killy
but its one of the tau's only legitimately tanky pieces
so it earns points in that regard
i actually love bringing a single shield drone on tau strike team shas ui's; because if they live due to that one wound, they might still complete an action or spot for something
im a sucker who likes its burst cannon WAY more than its mechanically better ion cannon
because massive gatling gun is just cool
it kills infantry well enough
I'd rather have a cool badass warthog gattling gun
Everytime I see a burst cannon that's all I hear
Exactly. That's the reason why I want a Starscythes + Coldstar unit
nice part about the HBC is that it does 2 damage per, so it can kill a marine in one shot
Is it actually worth the like 200+ pts? Maybe. Sustained hits 2 and if guided by stealthsuits, rerolling hits and wounds of 1...
Is really funny
It seems like a good mop up crew against my friends poxwalkers or capable of ripping in half an Imperial Guard battleline unit
I not trying to list tailor, but it feels like I am😭
But in general, having that huge output of attacks with sustained hits 2 is actually REALLY nice to threaten the enemy or to actually rip apart an infantry squad
Shouldve sat 0.9” from the wall so the base doesnt fit but out of engagement range smh
Or find a thicker wall
Ion accelerator or heavy burst
I'm thinking heavy burst for the devastating wounds thing
Generally Ion, its the termie killer and you’ve got loads of other things that do great into Marine equivalents
Trueee
Burst cannon is pretty underwhelming unfortunately
ion is the good one, heavy burst is just the vibes one
its annoying that the riptides does 4 dmg but the hammerheads ion doesnt
i bring hbc 100% aware that its a downgrade
Is there a summary of how the gsc rebellion went on Terra?
Ultimately of course it failed
Insane how they managed to get to Terra
Less insane when you consider the Ludicrous pilgrim count
Pilgrim tribes who have wars in the waiting lines, amongst other insanity.
Also Genestealers are just crazy insidious, and at least one of the big cults has cracked how to make food carry the genestealer kiss, so they can literally taint hiveworlds without needing a single genestealer or cult member to touch down
The cult has pulled off shit like nearly subverting an entire space marine chapter (and for all intents and purposes, did - the scythes could kinda sorta resist it, but they're all extinct now and replaced with primaris Marines to take over the mantle)
And the imperium's various bullshittery makes it incredibly easy for the cult to thrive and prosper
Shit Sucks
Why not hang out with Gribbles Jim who figured out how to make real food from the sewerslop and get guards off your back
so i've got this box of lychguard/triarch praetorians and i'm getting choice paralysis about it
the overwhelming opinion online is that praetorians are overcosted and can't effectively use deep strike whereas lychguard with dispersion shields are far better value for points in their durability
however
Rules are temporary cool models are forever
in the boarding actions ruleset, which we play a lot of at my local group, led-by abilities are all non-functional, and the tight corridor terrain biases the meta towards fast and aggressive melee strikers which would normally struggle to hide from line of sight and withstand long-range shooting
there is also the Rule Of Cool to consider
if you want meta; the lychguard with shields are the meta
i do also like the lychguard with the polearms mostly because polearms are cool
which is also why i like the praetorians with the staffs too
rod of the covenant
Lychguard with shields en masse are genuinely quite good for their cost still
Scytheguard are wacky cool models with just terrible statlines rn
staff praetorians are the way to go I think if you build praetorians
thematically i really like triarch praetorians; they should really be stronger i think
Rule of cool should prioritize, but I will say I rule of cool’d on like 10 scytheguard and I really just wish they were shields this point
there's also the option of creating some kind of amalgam from the kit which could plausibly proxy any of the options
^^^
if you magnetize the stick heads and put the praetorian backs on you can do both scytheguard and stick praetorians very easy
scytheguard if htey ever get to do what they want, CAN output decent damage, but like... not extraordinarily so
lychguard are meant to be like at least equiv to like bladeguard right?
They’re meant to be terminator elites
the dubious honor of being able to kill normal marines reasonably efficiently mechanically
yeah if scythe guard wanna be glass cannons they need just some more cannon to go with the glass
Necrons stuff has been outta wack since the shift of marines to 2W
immortals should be tougher, 2w i think
i've been making mental notes about my list itself from the games i've had so far
Yeah it's sorta weird how back when I started necron warriors were pretty unambiguously MEQs
And now they're... weird
a lot of the boarding actions detachments feel weird
some armies get their army rule entirely removed, and other get to keep it on top of other things
i dont mind the warriors not being super strong, but like they SHOULD be sticky/hard to get entirely off the board
some armies only get some vehicle-specific rules removed, some get basically every unique rule on characters removed
Boarding actions is cool but its very much a for fun thing that I don’t think GW cared too much about
Ofc necrons were probably the most poorly designed army in the game when I started playing because phase out was fucking stupid
necrons are hit very hard by the latter scenario
I know the destroyers available all kinda crank because the heavy labyrinthine maps mean people don’t get nearly as many chances to just shoot em
God I forgot they let you take szeras thats funny as shit
i've been finding
- skorpekh lord and destroyers are doing serious work in almost every match
- battleline units feel underwhelming, especially warriors who have to go in squads of 5 and suffer hard without reanimation protocols and their number is legion by proxy
- scarab swarms are still surprisingly useful, despite losing self-destruct and the oc-reduction not doing all that much, just for being fast and resonably durable melee units
Yeah warriors are terrible without all the bells and whistles right now
skorpekhs feel like they're great in boarding
Scarabs are great despite that for similar reasons, just dirt cheap goofy statlines that take too much effort
they are
funnily enough i've had quite a few matches where they did basically nothing and were still essential to victory
an especially funny example was when they stood on an objective in front of a hatch on round 1 and blocked 10 kroot carnivores from entering it for the entire match
Skorpekhs in boarding action flip on their head from glass cannon to a meatgrinder since nobody’s packing mass plasmas
thats prolly my favorite part about boarding action
is changing the dynamic
for some units
GRAAA
I LOVE TAU
COOL ASS MECHA
Posing is weird because I misread instructions but hey it stands so :p
Glue damage because my hands are shaky 😎😎
im so like... mixed on the riptide aesthetic
cause its posture always feels awkward to me
if/when i get one im prolly gone try mounting the weapons in different spots
namely the secondary gun is likely gonna go under the shield
I'm also just dumb and need incredibly specific instructions with examples and multiple angles of said examples
That's actually what I liked about the riptide. The meltas under the shield. That's awesome imo
I think shields make everything cooler. We need to normalize shields. They're cool...why don't space marine dreadnoughts have shields?
oh but they do
I want like, a sword brother dreadnought
Oh yeah 🤤
Shield and axe
Hammer and shield would've been cooler but I love it either way
Purestrains feel like they’d do good in boarding action
8” advance and charge, 4x +2/4/-2/1 profile, 2 wounds and an invuln
how do people feel about stationforge prints for proxies?
they have a very particular funk to em
i feel like magnetising my lokhust heavy destroyer but i think my magnets are just slightly too chunky to fit inside the body of the guns
i've heard online that you can actually just keep it as a push-fit to swap out the weapon, which could be worth investigating
I've never met anyone who wouldn't just let you say what you're fielding the heavy destroyer as
also true
but there's no way to address choice paralysis quite like adding in a third choice
Magnetizing is fun!
Best way to do it is chop the barrels of each gun, glue in your preferred stock (I like the big cable and the fuel cells on the enmitics) and magnetize the barrel to the stock
And he didn't show up at the LGS today
I was thinking
I'm playing Tau, Kauyon. I wanna run a ghostkeel so it protects my smaller boys as they push up midboard. Should I keep the fusion collider or switch for ion cannon
The ghostkeel isn't gonna be super aggressive, but I suspect I will be charged. And I want my squishy infantry to survive the charge phase, so he's basically just a body guard
Hmm...ion I think is more versatile. Melta is nice but 1 (or 2) attacks and they possibly miss, don't wound, or roll 1s on damage
ion is a much better generalist
the fusion is helpful in that you have very little str 12 up close
I'd drop one all together, 2 breachers one strike
both breachers in devilfish
strike to babysit home obj
Is it a good idea do have a pathfinder team spotting for two broadsides?
The Pathfinders have Darkstrider attached to them. I ask because it does use a lot of points, but it literally just makes my deployment zone untouchable by deepstrike
Broadside on each side with rail rifles. Pathfinders spotting for both to give +1 to hit and ignore cover. Anti deepstrike in the middle of the two spotting enemies
Gotta remember the Pathfinders have to be able to see what the broadsides are wanting to target to spot for em.
And spotting for broadsides is good, generally you want to spot for them with stealth teams, but a pf team does fine in that regard
The main thing is that the pf team is fragile as paper and an efficient spotting platform, so an opponent will know to just erase them
If they don't die, they'll put in work on the spotting side of things for you
To whoever told me to buy a playset of rockcrushers: I love you. These are god’s strongest space marine murder machines
Its project time baby
Played EC on EC today and wow was that a shockingly killy game.
So actually one funny thing wrt to Terra is that given the population numbers involved, it should just bake to death (humans emit a ton of body heat, and once you get to to the supposed trillions on a planet...).
The idea of the custodes and high Lords having to constantly tinker with the planetary aircon is very funny
Sacred Lord of The Exalted HVAC
No, we can't have more pilgrims this year!
Why not?
Explosion in the background, several Amechs run past on fire
"Because the Exalted HVAC is having a bad decade"
Odd question, is Bricky an alright 40k channel or is he a shitty person
seems alright to me, i havent heard any huge controversies around him
not every take he makes is golden or perfectly accurate
Bricky’s pretty good as a person as far as I’m aware
Is the EC dex and points fully out?
Bricky is cool yeah
If you're looking for recs, I can also vouch for the Poorhammer guys.
If we're giving recs I'd also say that Arbitor Ian is the best warhammer creator i've seen - really good lore videos that also come with the irl history of the game and its lore
plus his book club is a great way to vicariously consume black library
oculus imperia is a person with a great deal of clarity on what the imperium is
Yes
Here's a real funny detail
Breachers are one of the biggest heavy hitters in t'au
Further musing on the problem of Terra:
If it's constantly importing and not exporting, the planet should just... Catch fire, eventually. Literally. You can't just keep bringing in mass at the scale required to feed trillions!
Somewhere, somehow, the Adeptus Toiletus have the worst job: exporting all the shit off planet.
As I understand it, Terra IS kind of a hellish put when you're not at the top
It does Also maybe make things worse that the imperial palace is continent sized, so most of those trillions are stuffed into even less land mass
But also if I understand right, much of Terra's oceans are gone?
They are. It's a city-planet now
And yes, super hellish.
I'm just musing on the bits where the grim dark falls over due to scale
(see: the planet should literally bake to death thanks to the body heat of trillions of people)
Truly the real reason for the golden throne was to well, be... A really golden throne.
Maybe that's something that gets like... cycled into the power systems. Whole planet is threaded with converters and now if with people died there would be power problems
I don't think the grim dark falls over due to scale. It's not supposed to make sense. The whole thing is that the scale is incomprehensibly massive.
Enough people* died
This is also why the eldar are mad: emps is just dumping planetary levels of sewage into the webway
That was Big E's real use plan of the web way. Disposal
Can't destroy energy, so that doesn't work.
Heat is a fucker. (I mean really the answer is why are you applying real life physics, to which I answer because it's funny)
Heh
No joke tho
Perturabo pronably wouldnt care about Bronies
Doesnt mean he would be nice to you tho
He would probably you make you a slave or some shit
I just assume they're lying about the population
fwiw this isn't true in 40k
Void Shields work on a principle of destroying energy by shunting it into other dimensions iirc
So it's likely that Terra just contributes to warpal warming :p
But also quadrillions is goofy and the imperium supposedly counted them on vellum so I don't really buy it beyond "dang that's a lot"
I do like the idea that Terra would literally melt down without technology shunting the planet's waste heat into other dimensions though
It's very technological nightmare in a good way for 40k
I saw waste and i was like 'The poop portals are destabilizing!" Big E standing from the throne 'Sweet mercy, this is worse than the heresy'
Maybe they put them on the ships
IIRC like a million ships worth of supplies a day land at terra
Maybe they load em up with waste on the way out
Dubai style
"TEN THOUSAND AGRI-WORLDS ARE FERTILIZED WITH THIS POO"
Sacred Shit from Holy Terra itself.
also probably some sanitation workers in there
you know how it goes
It's a beautiful day outside
Imma hobby in my backyard
Warhammer player getting sunlight for the first time, wish me luck
But like seriously holy Terra it's gorgeous. Gentle breeze. Not too hot. Lots of shade and some clouds
"Every ship that comes to Terra with tithes of grain leaves laden with fertilizer!" "You wash them out after, right?"
"of course. what kind of dystopian nightmare universe doesn't enforce food safety standards"
Food safety Inquisition Ordo
Reminds me of my favorite Dark Heresy enemy
The Xothic Blood Locust
(Same rating as a Genestealer)
releases this on an ork planet
now you're thinking with Inquisitorial authority
Smoking on a bong so big it requires two serfs to hold and committing acts of biological warfare that would make Kryptman blush
smoking on those tubes which make you consider your mortality
anyone have some general advice for basing models in an urban environmnent?
i got like a the army painter basing kit, but none of it seems really good for my purposes
There's a couple of ways to do it, but a big one is to decide what kind of urban environment and how you'll broadly want to depict it.
The most bare-bones tried-and-true way is grey rubble. Sand + chunks of cut sprue glued down, primed black, and drybrushed various grey paints. You can spice it up with some rebar (bent chunks of paperclips), wiring, pipes, spent ammo casings, skulls, torn posters, etc. Adding some brown in the recesses adds some depth.
