#Warhammer and Such

"My ART is spreading every molecule of a Space Marine across my entire fortress, laying them like paint across the entirety of the grandeur, all the while the Marine is sentient and able to feel everything that happens to it."
what's it called?
Dark eldar love evilmaxxing. They go so ridiculously hard on being awful that its almost funny
You also had that one haemoculi that loved getting eaten by monsters
one of the most ridiculous haemonculi to unfortunately live and keep getting brought back
my thoughts exactly, they could find a way to torture a slaaneshi cultist (although the answer there is just 'isolation chamber)
or that one haemonculi that turned himself into a living light beam so he raced across the galaxy calling himself the biggest genius to ever live until he got himself caught by the other haemonculi
cartoon supervillain shit that one was
wasn't there also a time a haemonculi grafted a genestealer arm to themselves and accidentally led to a large scale GSC uprising in Cormoragh
Live footage of a Catachan moving a barking toad
I love how frogs and toads just don't have brains
Extremely strong analgesics so you can stab/etc them and they can't feel a bit of it
I think there was actually multiple that did that
they were grafting tyranid parts to themselves as a new fashion statement
....and then that happened yeah
Weird canonical things that have happened in 40k.
- Tau making a virus the Tyranids couldn't adapt to fast enough.
- Nurgle Plague wiping out an entire necron fleet
- Kaldor Draigo
- Drukhari figuring out how to torture Necrons
- Catachan's ability to have enough population to produce combat regiments
- The fluctuating power scaling of harlequins and custodes resulting in them getting slaughtered or being untouchable depending on the narrative
TIL that Draigo is just stuck in the Warp forever, still serves as Supreme Grand Master
Gotta be some kind of spite thing there's no way he can be reliably in command
The deldar also at one point decided to steal a moon or planet getting overrun by Tyranids so they could experiment on the kidnapped Tyranids just for the funzies
not completely surprising though considering they steal stars on occasion
For that first one, the scientists who made it injected themselves with the biophage before running at the nids to be eaten, causing the self destruction through the fleet
Question
Gingerbread stuff is not a thing where i live
Do people eat their gingebread creations? Or are those left to rot?
It depends
Sometimes they get eaten
Sometimes they last a little too long and get gross and stale and no one does
i see
"We don't want to help people. We want to torture them and cause them pain!"
But enough about the Republican party :v
The only difference is that the dark eldar would never let another dark eldar get ahead of them and wouldn't let a mindless figure head be in charge
Hurting each other is just as fun as hurting other people -dark eldar
There is room at the top, but it's all occupied by Vect. đ
Oh I'm perfectly aware lol
It was a little funny but at the same time, I could see it happening from the Tau side since they actually innovate. Also like a majority of the Farsight enclave population died during that whole splinter fleet encounter
its a weird canonical thing because it requires a factions key feature to be bypassed to succeed instead of worked around; i.e. the tyranids ability to adapt
Yeah, O'Vesa, the chief scientist, called it a self replicating nano machine virus that worked off the DNA code of the fleet after the scientists got eaten and then became airborne based on the fleet stripping the atmosphere of the planet
In the 6th edition codex, there's a mention of how the Tau accidentally caused "many" suns to go supernova by draining them of energy, and they were working on a sun killer weapon off of the accident
But they stopped the research because it was too unwieldy for them
bruh
that shield lmao
Hates eldar?
all those soulstones hanging out like the ghost brothers in stardust
Dude got a lot of gym badges.
Navy guys or spacers or something?
Sump sea ferrymen
Homie is definitely related to a goliath
Sump beasts, chaos spawn, sump pirates, giant rats, kraken general and specific ect
He's actually an ogryn!
It would not be terribly surprising to be if some sump sea boats in some hive cities were rowed
Heretical Hot Take
Kaldor Draigo is just Loyalist Doom Rider
They both appear at random and then get yeeted back to the warp at random
Does Draigo have a sweet bike though?
You can't have a bike and terminator armor at the same time.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D62QM827 So, did a roll of the dice and picked this up.
It arrived today and I assembled it. Not terribly difficult to do, but there's a few snags that didn't make it seamless:
- One of the top holes was a real pain, the bolt didn't want to catch. I managed to muscle it in there.
- No pre-drilled holes for the doors. Not terribly difficult, it's soft material, but still.
- One of the shelves was bent along the rim. Easy enough to bend back into shape with my bare hands, it's about as tough as a cookie sheet
- Finish was a bit scuffed. I chalk that up to Amazon warehouses being trash and probably got dinged a bunch during transport. I'm gonna cover this thing with stickers anyway.
It's made of wood so it's not light, and I wonder how well the carrying handle will hold up with a full load of models. But overall I don't think it's a bad price point for a case.
--oh also the pexiglass had a cover on both sides and there wasn't an easy way to remove that, had to bust out the x-acto to get a peel going on one corner. Don't think I damaged it any.
I might put a catch on the door because I don't know how well the magnetic closing will keep it from opening. I would've liked one with one door on it and not split in two like that but it's whatever. You also can't really see into it so I'm wondering if I can get some sort of light going on in there.
You got a picture of this whole thing put together? @pastel rampart
Yeah, just that it's sunset now and my living room light isn't too condusive to photos.
Looks nice
It's a heavy sonnuvabitch.
The plastic ones are decent
They look it, I just wish they weren't 100 bux or more.
This one was, y'know, half that haha.
BEWARE THE OIL CAN
Never gets old to me, love the energy of the pic
BTW, I may have enticed a coworker with necrons but am feeling guilty about the potential time/money sink of Warham, how's the Hierotek Circle in the new Kill Team edition?
Top tier atm
Theyâre a lot of fun, albeit a relatively complicated the execute team
That might appeal to him lol. Thanks!
You know what? Fuck you.
[turns your slightly outdated tiktok meme into a series of mechanics for an RPG almost no one plays]
You did the meme!
the only reason i'm a 40k fan and i'm not poor
is cause they dont sell em here in brazil
actually
i'm kind of poor

There is decent table top sim digital versions of the army
And Brazil has those avant-garde pizzas so it all evens out
maybe
oooh tell me more
They don't.
pramris primarch lieutenant with power spear
Likely that one dude in harrowmaster who got the pale spear heads, AL characters are scarce
I appreciate your work đ
Thank you kindly
finally, codex: alpha legion confirmed.
or its a double bluff and its actually Rogal dorn who got stabbed by it again and its not permanently stuck in his chest.
Solomon yeah?
Turns out it's a necron dude
Or something silly like that
Instead of gigachad alpharius
I will only accept Trazyn stealing the pale spear as consolation
Why are people assuming alpha legion?
I guess that forked spear/bident is pretty iconic
But this one looks different to me idk
Because it's a dead ringer for the head of the pale spear wielded by Alpharius/Omegon and was last seen in the hands of Harrow master Solomon of the alpha legion
Exact same design of the blade
Connector bit is a bit different but otherwise
The prongs are also different
Said basically the same thing in a different chat I'm in
I think I see what you mean? Rear flaring (I don't even know if that's the right word) is the same but the front flaring splits into two points on the FW mini and a single point on the rumor engine
My reflexive one was the DoW Necron Lordâs staff of light but that actually looks less similar
Yeah itâs clearly similar but not identical
it might be a simplified design because plastic isn't quite as good as resin
maybe after 10,000 years the edges just got worn down
also the one from this cover is also different
but also if it was hh, it would only be plastic if it was a Black Library model, really
(chaft is different here because that part are still in the hands of the inquisitors)
It's a crone sword so it can change shape over time to match the wielder
Yeah it was only the blade itself that Solomon recovered
So, as long as an Alpha Legion member wields it it will look the same?
Wait itâs a cronesword?
I don't think that's confirmed
It's rumored to be an esoteric weapon of eldar origin but no hard confirmation
pre eldar
Provided the crone sword rumors are true, yeah the blade will confirm to their perception the pale spear as I understand it. I believe the dawnblade also follows similar logic?
Note: searching for warhammer stickers is a fraught affair.
Like no I do not want hentai stickers of Tau on my carrying case, thanks.
On the other hand this whips ass
Lexicanum mentions that the Pale Spear predates the rise of Eldar
I like the idea that the person wielding it forgot that the double pointed bit on the front spikes and that's why it looks very slightly different
Note I may be wrong about the dawnblade. 4 of the 5 crone swords are known, it's also known some of them can shape shift. The last sword might be the pale spear, might be the dawnblade or could be locked up in slaanesh's palace
There's conflicting sources on the fate of the 5th sword according to lexicanum
It is stated that the Crone Goddess of Souls and Fate lost the hand when she sought the wisdom that flowed through her own veins, and tricked the God Khaine into cutting it off
Idk, is this really something you need to trick Khaine into doing?
Getting them to take just the hand is probably the real trick
the trick was 'get her banshee daughters to bother him and then plainly asking'
lmao
and also it was a deal cause khaine got to be little a girl as a treat
I too love tricking people (asking for a mutual beneficial exchange)
There's two ways to read that typo. "Belittle a girl" or "be a little girl" and frankly I find the latter more funny
Also whips ass.
https://www.etsy.com/shop/CrippledGiraffDecals?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=1669384516&from_page=listing&page=1#items This shop's got some great ones.
oh haha it's reference
the typo not being in the title is weird haha
He got the aspect of the banshees. Though I'm sure he belittled girls that are bad at fighting at some point
so it's 'be a little girl' but like, 'a little girl' is referring to the amount of girl and not the size of a whole girl
Also the girl is a fearsome elder warrior
The spear could be a deepkin spear
I'm also at the point where girl has been said enough times that it looks misspelled
sdfhkj
Also you know what. Orks are non-binary icons
Something something âGhazkhull is a he/himâ deathwatch marine
Ghazkhull gets whatever pronouns they want. đ
I like to think it would become a collection if it were physical.
assigned male at deathwatch
Noise Marines and Ultramarines are objectively correct
blackshield femarine giving falx sideye through her helmet
Everyone in the room can tell, despite the lenses completely hiding the eyes
I love the last line so much
Which brings up the possibility of "Orks that got into sexangender but don't think 'boyz' is a gender word consequently going by 'femboyz'"
Lmfao
'femladz'
Isnt "sexangender" an ork quote?
Yeah it's in that excerpt Cyan posted
Oh yeah that's the one
This has been in my head for ages
I mean makes sense that an ork would find it funny
(spotting a sisters of battle force) oi it's them umie femboyz
Yes this is good
Boyz is like dude. By way of use, non-gendered but with gendered origin.
I like the idea of the ork boss being a they/them though. Good in a royal sense
PhilosiphOrk pondering the difference between da Ladz, da Boyz, da Mob. Wondering if Mek is a sexangender.
Any advice on a cheap magnetized way of storing minis?
Large plastic bin and a cookie sheet
ideally bin with a lid
Yeah bin with ferrous baking sheet
You can also buy galvanized flashing sheets at home depot pretty cheap for a stainless steel base
"Weirdboy" is 100% something that someone on Earth already considers their gender
Do you think orks see repenta charging into battle without armor and with massive oversized swords and think "finally a hummie wot knowz 'ow to fight proppah"
Well orks wear armor, but I think they respect it
given orks i think they would just call you a moron
cant have a good fight if you just fall over from the first shoota hit
oh yeah ork respect still includes trash talk and insults while they try to kill you
i feel like you'll get ork respect if ur tough and maybe snazzy
probably depends a bit on the clan too
for sure, its just that ork respect isn't expressed through admiration or like vocal support; its expressed through wanting to krump you more
like the way they celebrate yarrick is kind of an aberration
I think most Orks see Yarrick and are like "oh, e's too tuff fer me to win a krump, ay gotta leave dat to da warboss"
bosses see yarrick as an opportunity, boys are scared of ol bale eye
and ghaz see him as a personal rival
only let him live because he represented an opportunity for a satisfying battle
good enemies hard to find
honestly if you live to fight and that's fun for you
it makes sense to let the good enemy live
it's all you do anyway so keeping someone who will 100% give you a worthy battle alive is a clever choice
Thinking about rosters for the Phobos team in KT3
Theyâre a tricky one since they have a lot of good operatives and only 6 slots
hi cyan
Currently feeling:
- Reiver Sarge
- Reiver Warrior
- Comms
- Marksman
- Helix
- Veteran? Voxbreaker? Saboteur?
Sup
Yeah exactly, bosses go "yeah, maybe I could take im... gotta try if it's worth a shot"
For equipment prolly
- utility grenades
- more utility grenades
- knives
- ???
what makes the reiver sarge attractive?
for the last one, veteran seems to be the best generalist
Better weapons than the others
Incursor does have the benefit of saturate if youâre up against cover likers
But otherwise heâs got a P1 pistol and better melee and more mobility for little downside
And Phobos struggles to get good melee guys
I don't think you get to take utility grenades twice
Phobos has a special âmore utility grenadesâ faction gear
Oh good point
It doesnât stack I just get 4
i think i wanna try and make a list oriented around flash gits
Probably explosive grenades then?
played my first game of kill team today
only about five months after buying the first team in an entirely different edition
we used a bunch of boxes we had lying around because the volkus terrain was just a little too much to sensibly transport
rules were forgotten, mistakes were made, i still have no idea how cover actually works, but it was good times all around
and i'm not just saying that because i won by a wide-ass margin
my stingwings versus their aquilons
it took until the second round for them to understand how drop deployment actually worked, which probably didn't help on top of everything else
Oh wow nice
especially since we ran out of time at the start of turning point three, at which point i had the 2:1 numbers advantage and all three control points captured and we agreed on a win by decision
Stingwings are tricky to pilot
yeah, they look quite interesting
my real hopes are for a team thats just Abhuman rabble
just a bunch of weirdos
Ratlings might be the closest it gets for a while
Unless we get felinids and nightsiders and such
gimme those loyalist beastmen and catgirl
I'd love an oops all abhumans team
You've already got two.
yeah we have ratlings
Three then.
whatre the other two?
Salvagers and Jaegers. đ
lol
fair enough
as far as classic guard abhumans we do have ratlings already, full ogryns would be fun
I meant a mix of different ones
i wonder what their mechanics would be
Real eclectic squad
You want an Ogre, a felinid, and a pair of ratlings walk into a kill team.
We might be able to run all Ogs in that team
I'd expect them to look kinda like gun user gellerpox?
Honestly give that to me as a squad in Agents and I'm all for it.
Yeah that'd be sick
I meant for the team as a whole
Gellerpox is approx equal numbers of big guys, medium guys, and little guys
But I think a sort of ~18w 4+ save goons could be cool for Ogryns
One Watcher, and a swarm of servo-skulls.
As a pack of 6-7 "elites"
Though jfc that's a LOT of wounds
If more than 6 anyway
Most Kill Teams are 80-100 total wounds
Ogryn Skull Crusher, Ogryn Bone 'ead, Ogryn Guncarrier, Ogryn Ammo Jock
hmm
what other specialized ogryns to exist
bullgryn is technically also an ogryn right?
WRASSLER
oh yeah
Come catch these hands
Ogryn Wrestler for sure
I think a bombardier would also work
Ogryn Bodyguard i guess could be another specialist
Yeah that should work pretty well
I bet Breaka Boyz could also work ok as a proxy team
Ogryn Big'ead - an Ogryn psyker
I was thinking about that but they're super rare
Maybe a little high octane for normal KT fare
ok, but their main attack could be called 'Cast Fist'
Yeah apparently, it seems neat
and the overcharged version could be 'Cast Bigger Fist'
We had been discussing a potential only ogryn team but that team might be able to be all ogryns
oh, oops
I kinda hope you can do all big guys for it
Cyan
whats ur favorite ork clan?
Bad moons
Blood Axes for me. Because the idea of Orks trying to act like a proper military amuses me greatly.
Also I love Kommandos
Goffs for me.
freebootaz
technically not a clan
but they are treated as one
in terms of proppa clanz, i like deathskulls
I liked deathskulls up until I painted about 3,000-odd points worth of them.
Also I actually love painting Camo
And the Blood Axe thing of "Camo, but it's often not the right Camo" is also amusing
Old school Looted Wagon
the fact that looted shit doesnt have any rules structure now is a travesty
To be fair, actual looted vehicles--as in, they used the original rules from that other army's codex--hasn't existed since 3rd.
Yeah even as far back as 4e they were basically a not!Rhino you could tape an unreasonable number of guns to
Which is like, Fineâ˘ď¸ even if it doesn't have much flavor to it.
there were a couple editions with "build your own" rules, no?
in chapter approveds and whatnot
Back in 3rd.
CA had both a "build your own vehicle" and "build your own tyranid" rules.
The vehicle ones was the first instance of flyers too!
Not sure that's "instead of heresy"
Just blasphemy
Can just be fanfiction like date's inferno
âIâm only 40 chapters in and so far nothing technically violates Imperial doctrine. And yetâŚâ
Canonically, there are romance novels in the imperium.
The ones we know of were set on the paradise world of Kreig (bit out of date) and had a title like a Japanese light novel
"My love for you is only second to the God-Emperor" or it was something like that
you say out of date, I say period piece
First kill team errata
Nothing super shocking
New coop mission though
oh breachers getting 12 total was a typo evidently
so playable from the box again now
Iâm not sure if it was a typo or just poorly thought out
Hoping the team gets some compensation in the balance dataslate though
uh it was a blue fix and not a magenta fix so it was being presented as a typo
which like
yeah they could be lying
I donât mean lying I just mean someone not checking how many models the box can make when the buffed the robits
I have been making ends meet selling warhammer stuff for 5 years now, and honestly, these are the worst space marines I have ever seen. Woof. These are for the hobbyist with something to prove. And while they may not look like much and they may not all be on fancy-pants post-2014 bases, they are technically GW plastic. So⌠theyâre worth somethin...
I have been making ends meet selling warhammer stuff for 5 years now, and honestly, these are the worst space marines I have ever seen. Woof. These are for the hobbyist with something to prove.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
we can save them
we have the technology
I don't know if we CAN
Like...you could maybe Orkify it???
But like holy shit this is truly ugly.
I'm pretty sure that's Testor's enamel red on there.
Yeah there's no coming back from enamel on plastic.
I suppose it could be repurposed for terrain as wreckage.
7000 lbs of green stuff
Testor's enamel paints, usually for model cars and such.
ahh
Absolute bitch and a half to actually take off plastic.
If you see enamel paint on a miniature you may as well resign yourself to just painting over it.
i feel like AoS has a lot of cooler minis
honestly i think it just depends on your tastes, though i think AOS does flying minis a bit better
but also they're so much bigger
and more breakable
its the AoS > 40k Necromunda > Warcry chain
I think there's some pretty good Warcry minis
i like the skink team
munda just has some stronger single figure sculpts i feel
the teams as a whole can be hit or miss but when they hit they hit like bricks
and can be converted into very cool munda models
I think AoS's big strength is that it doesn't have 30 years of visual fidelity and history weighing it down to have "older" looking sculpt designs for visual continuity
So the mini designers are more free to flex their muscles
Is it too much to want more cool alien sculpts? I don't care if they're not a faction I play. It all enriches the hobby
I think they also just put junior designers on space marine and obligatory character releases
im just blessed by the longevity of tau sculpts
do i want new tau stuff? Yes. Does the old tau stuff still look good? Yes.
oh i asked this a long time ago but forgot the answer
whats a good place to find a tau bits box that will net me replacement crisis suit guns?
Maybe my closet?
Thereâs some online bits sites but I donât know which ones are good
I'd like the custodes gaurd to get a new sculpt but I think eldar needs the range refresh
Ala sisters of battle style
Eldar is in the middle of a range refresh
legit if you got enough stuff to fully refresh a single crisis team's loadout i will pay you and cover shipping costs for em, i lost all my magnetized guns so i have bare armed and shouldered crisis suits
Can take a look
id need 4 plasma rifles, 5 missile pods, an airburster, an ion gun and a shield
at least for base load
but otherwise just the full suite
I have discovered that I love tanks. Is there a vehicle focused faction other than guard that will scratch that itch?
I do enjoy guard tho
Iâm not sure if itâs still meta but space marines have been fielding a lot of armor
Especially black Templars which is funny
You would think mechanicus but no
I'll give tau another shot. I do like mecha
Knights?
Will check this weekend, as I think my suit stuff is in the deepest boxes
Knights can be fun. Are they in a good spot meta wise? Not really
no rush i appreciate you lookin
Need or want
A note, it might be old sculpts
Knights are too vehicle focused, if that makes sense. They feel too different. Maybe I'll try them anyway. It's not like I spend money, I'm playing on tabletop sim
if they fit onto the crisis suits thats fine by me
Uuuuuuuh hmm. Sisters of battle?
Mechanicus can be played somewhat vehicle focused; Orks can be played heavily into vehicles, SM has a vehicle oriented detachment.
Oh right! The orks vehicles can be very silly
Oh yeah orks are a good shout
I'll look into them. I think guard might still be the faction for me, but thanks for the suggestions! I just like tanks
csm i thin kcan also play hard into vehicles i think
Tanks with lots of guns
though they have a lot of old fashioned ones
They can but itâll feel pretty different because of all the daemon engines
Every model is a necromunda model
Tau kinda works with tanks but it's just really hard to hide hammerheads đŚ
oh and yeah someone else said it, but aeldari can be played heavy into vehicles
And it's mostly transported breachers
I tbinm they are still the most powerful unit in the game
My LGS has the new Skaven Globadiers on a 25% off for Black Friday
Powerful bsttleline
THe flesh is feeling weeeeeeak
One day I'll get to play triple rail hammerheads
its still pretty good right?
I have the old Tau tank commander in a hammerhead turret in my closet
i figure they're very usable/good in a more relaxed environment, possibly edging into annoying for a casual opponent xD
because of classic tau "take way your toys"
and that youre more likely to have a centerpiece model in a casual game
that railguns like to take away
If necons maybe?
im also tau heretic i like riptide with the heavy burst gun waymore than the ion gun
the ion gun just looks... unwieldy
It's still funnier to drop meltasuits
melta suits are actually more reliable arent they?
doesnt the hammer get 1 reroll to w too? for its 1 shot?
It's still 1 shot is the issue
yeah fair
Fewer chances to even out
i just like how it wounds most things fairly confidently, while the ion gun feels way behind the curve
but i guess the ion IS better at dealing with infantry
i just dont bring a hammer head to deal with infantry
The ion gun seems fine but also infantry splashers are just not that hard to get with Tau
tau dont have THAT many long range anti armor tools, its just that our anti armor tools are very good
so on one of hte few options that can bring em, it seems weird to not
are sky rays still in vogue?
Ye
I donât think so? I think theyâre kinda hamstrung by being a designated AA tank in an edition where AA isnât important
But I may be misremembering
Thing is the AA is very incidental to having
That is a lot of S14 for 140 pts though
This ridiculous thubg
I knw
3 twin linked lascannons for the low low price of 140 points?
Only admech get a better deal than this and they pay real life money
Ahahha
Zoanthroapes get close. But have much worse range
Though they also never accomplish anything in my games. They two shots off (not rounds lol) before being annihilated last time I played lmao
I probably need to reserve them more. But it feels bad when you have a neurotyrant with them
Tau tanks are definitely glass canons in general
They don't exist to trade firepower, they exist to platform some of the factions biggest guns
Heck better than lascannons cause they wound on t12 on a 3 instead of a 4
honestly surprised to see such an extensive set of options and weapon selections
becoming an upgrade sprue has some advantages
for 110 points they seem like some quality budget chosen
5 man squad with a master of executions piling into the usual stratagem hogs feels like a winning combo
do we have any stories of 2 loyalist groups mistaking each other for heretics and the real heretics basically made them fight each other?
the burning of prospero
that's....accurate
Success.
Pretty often imperial forces call each other heretics for slight deviations in their emperor worship and then nuke each other
A huge civil war in house Esther happened because a saint had a mispelled name in some books and then two different sects went to war over it
AVE DOMINUS NOX
nearly done
the clan is to broke to afford anything fancier that a pair of heavy bolters glued together đŚ
Decided to put together a basic 1k list for DoK on top of my proper 2k list
ScĂĄthcoven
Melusai Ironscale (160)
[General]
[Zealous Orator]
- 10 x Blood Sisters (280)
- 5 x Blood Stalkers (140)
- 5 x Khinerai Heartrenders (110)
Hag Queen (140)
[Khainite Pendant]
- 5 x Doomfire Warlocks (150)
[Lore of Shadows]
[Prayers of the Khainite Cult]
[Manifestations of Khaine]
980/1000pts
2 drops
Generated by Listbot 4.0```
thoughts?
For the record, DoK does not have a single unit that costs 130
Oh sorry
They have the High Gladiatrix
but shes kind of meh at best and doesn't even work with this army
But she is a god tier solution to high value - low health problems like Sigvald
I say as my Sigvald got popped by a gladiatrix
I also don't own her
but I own everything else in this list
Also, ya know, it wouldn't be out the question for this list to drop 12 mortals in a single Fight
20 swings with 2 damage and Crit Mortals
Not likely
but possible
Man Barbgaunts are fucking chunky, my favorite thing about building Tyranids rn is how much the units jimp around in size
This list can hand out Strike Last quite well! I'd go for a Bloodwrack Viper as the prioritized manifestation to drop on folks myself.
yeah, that'll depend on a bunch of stuff
only 1 wizard does kind of cause through put issues
especially for an army that really wants it's run and charge and buff spells
I should be able to get the heart out fairly reliably tho
That plus the Hag Queen should give my Blood Sisters decent staying power
might change to shadow patrol...
the Fight First is amazing, but the Teleport is more applicable
Eh, it's either teleport 1 unit a turn until they get stuck in, or give most of your army Strike First on a good charge.
Well, at least my two frontline units Strike First
and I do have rerolls on the charge ideally
it seems like glash gits are actually these days a melee unit with a decent volley of shooting before getting stuck in
flash*
theres no way to like... boost em with characters or anything
or detachments
so i figured having them loaded up into a battlewagon
blasting and then charging
is the way to go
easier to roll full kombi weapon nobz with a big mek leader
I say use legends if you're playing casual
yeah i think its fine in casual, just when exploring their viability as a unit in the current ork roster, you can't really rely on legends
They legended Mr pirate?
yeah
Smol Morathi built
Name it
That is small Morathi. There is also big snake morathi
She has a snack in one of her hands just in case
(it's someone's heart)
Also, didn't realize big Morathi has someone she petrified and smashed on her base
Btw, if anyone is wondering how but big Morathi is compared to small
This is smol Morathi on the big base
Lmao they're great
I love the muscles on them
Have you seen the wings on the Stormcast hero in their Spearhead?
The second she gets a standalone kit it's open season lol
yndrasta? she doesn't get standalone releases :(
she shares sprue space with a bunch of the other models in the box
I lucked out and got her in a lot of Stormcast stuff resold locally, but otherwise she's locked behind the Spearhead or the old starter box for Stormcast.
Very cool model, and a real shame there isn't a non-pushfit version.
Does anyone know if these special edition Warhammer books are available to order yet and if so where? https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/EgvWAYQW/praise-the-silent-king-two-black-library-necron-special-editions-are-coming-this-year/
(I know little about how this stuff works, I'm just scheming a Christmas gift)
Sixty million years ago the Necron dynasties spread across the stars, an almighty civilisation dead set on conquering the galaxy. After being turned into a race of living metal constructs as part of a fell bargain with the Câtan, most lost their personalities, becoming little more than soulless automatons.
Thatâs a shame I really liked her
I love how Vecht is, on one hand, this inspiring Horatio Alger "started at the bottom" story but since what he climed to the top of is Commorragh he's also the fucking worst
you can respect vecht's hustle while still thinking he's awful
being silly
As an FYI: bsyy.app is a thingy that makes bluesky discord embeds work
Oh boo, it doesn't work for videos
ah, hm
well: it's a video of lefty YouTuber Shaun, but as a servo-skull instead of a normal skull, where he(? an immitator?) delivers the "THE WEAKNESS OF THE FLESH" speech from Mechanicus
Danger noodle the faction.

One of the other bad decisions I made last night was buying a lot of danger noodles
25 of them in fact
(2 reinforced units of spear snakes and the other half of a reinforced unit of bow snakes)
Well "don't ever talk to me or me again"
AoS wings are just better in general
Rocking the triptide hell yeah
would the horus heresy have been less horrible, or more, if all the primarchs were women, as Malcador apparently had suggested the emperor make them because he thought they'd get along better?
Honestly I donât think it would have made a difference
Heresy AU where it's 9 guys 9 gals, during the Great Crusade various pairs (both het and gay) started dating, and it turns into the worst polycule breakup imaginable
That isn't already someone's extensive fanfic?
I feel like Heresy fanficcers tend to either go full bore MLM or genderswap all of them
it would only make a difference if the writer is a coward tbh
Ok so who do you make a gal in this?
probably true tbh but it's more that that line from malcador just makes me think that author never had sisters
That's just the Alpha Legion.
You can't just ask people their fetishes like that
Sanguinius has to stay a guy for the Jesus reference and the (male) homoeroticism of the chapter
Magnus stays a guy if only so I don't have to label them a failgirl.
magnus has too much hubris
Magnus stays a guy because otherwise the chest horns would look even more suggestive otherwise
that one Malcolm in the Middle episode but it's a hallucination by the Emperor on the Throne
I guess Alpharius and Omegon are easy
But it'll be funnier to label her as failgirl
easy its Lorgar, Alpharius, Fulgrim, gulliman, Lion, Horus, corax and the two lost primarch who never attend the meetings vs the rest who are the lads
source : friends with MLM mormon familys growing up
Corvus Corax and Konrad Curze for maximum goth girl
Good list tbh
Konrad Curze for 'I can fix her'
If you're including the lost two that's still only 9/20, or 7/18 actually appearing. We need at least one more for parity
I'm thinking... Vulkan?
presumably one is fem the other masc
but also in my imagination like
both are extremely androgynous and swap presentations to the point where its not possible to tell
does mess up the count, though
yeah its vulkan, their arent any dudes in mlm groups that are that kind of postitive
Who's for she can make me worse
The coldest take
Yet to be dethawed take
If we count the two Alpha Legion primarchs separately there's an odd number anyway, so it's fine
Horus.
So, the Warhammer World Champ reveals are live
Krieg and Astra Militarum Codex first as expected
Yoo these horsies are sick
Yo Krieg horses that don't cost $200?
Are those mines mounted on the breast plates?
plastic krieg horses?
Yep
Plastic Krieg Engineers!
i wonder what the role differential will be against the rough riders
These are dope
I like the krieg a lot aesthetically I just donât love their fanbase
Lord Marshall Drier is the character
I like the more desperate/roman look theyâre getting here
The predatory clawed horses are fun
i think krieg is hella cool, but ive explained in the past that my beef with them is aesthetically occupying the greatcoat gas mask niche that armageddon used to live in, but armageddon is not nearly as popular
Imagine being reused as the TP-holder skull lmao
Krieg weapon teams get heavy flamers
Also Armageddon has the cooler colour scheme imo
Plastic Krieg!

Those are some FUCKED horses, hell yeah
love the wording of
returning [material] revealed at [the event]
like
ah yes
these 20ish year old minis
finally revealeed
24 new detachments???????
1 on a day for each day of advent
I think GW forgot what the point of combat patrols was supposed to be lol
matched play legal
I feel like the top of the krieg horse isn't fucked up enough given how messed up the feet are
what combat patrol do you mean
Whichever one @tardy vault was talking about
The guard one
This will be really nice for all the factions without a codex
Hmm, they will probably also release a new worse combat patrol? Though the current one isn't too old right?
they probably will release a new one yeah
but no it's not that old, ig were one of the last to get one
in 9e
combat engineers kinda fuck
and the artillery is awesome
I thought this was a joke XD
No, they have a new combat patrol that I just described
Seriously
weird
It's Attilian Riders
two of em?
yep
There will be a combat patrol for AstraMili cosisting of 2 units of ROugh Riders, 1 command squad and 1 unit of Kaskrin
Oh that's funky, huh
more AoS hell yeah
But TBH I suspect a possible "Rough Riders not selling" and this is a way to maybe pull people in on them? IDK
oh its currently going?
These new wolves look glorious
Yay plastic Argus, big news for Argus fans
they do look very cool either way
Well, Orcs and Gobbos are different factions nowadays so woulĂśd have been weird
kruleboyz already have a decent amount of goblins/hobgrots
Grots are not Gobbos
Okay I love the details on the Kreig Artillery Team
I like how you can tell that the wolf is the real boss
Doing Sun VS Moon for the gobbos is lovely
What a ridiculous mobility system:
Books now
I um
I wonder if like
hm
I hope they give combat engineers kill team rules is my point
They do seem to have a lot of different guns
New Swoopers
Swooping Hawks
Yoooooo
And SPOIDERS
Baharroth
New Phoenix Lord
oh spider lord FUCKS
Another new Phoenix Lord
Yeah these fucking rip

New fragons look excellent
Eldar eating well
my disdain for aeldari rises once more >:C
Just learned that we have never had a WarpSpider Phoenix Lord model
Yeah heâs outright new
This is an Ultramarine:
Stole his drip
"Calm, strategic mind" literally an ultramarine lmao
If they werenât super xenophobic the ultramarines would probably get along well with the Dire Avenger aspect shrine
Kinda suprised we haven't gotten a new Karandras model
dire avengers shrine is so strongly "we're gonna get REAL good with our people's main gun"
He's too sneaky for GW to model
karandras got an update, eldar relative speaking, recently did he not?
Not really iirc
Only Striking Scorpions got an update
7 detachments in the book wooooo
i love her
Karandras latest sculpt from what I can find
Aeldar are cool and I'm tired of pretending they aren't
WarpSpider PL
It's real tho
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screw-propelled_vehicle
A screw-propelled vehicle is a land or amphibious vehicle designed to cope with difficult terrain, such as snow, ice, mud, and swamp. Such vehicles are distinguished by being moved by the rotation of one or more auger-like cylinders fitted with a helical flange that engages with the medium through or over which the vehicle is moving. They have b...
(Yay the embed has the gif)
screw propulsion is actually really cool
Modern paint, same sculpt
My guess is not often - itâs a sensor mast
I think making the face area less busy in particular really helps there
quad mandiblasters also a vibe
Huh, interesting
I guess there would be a lot of mud where Krieg fight
I kinda wish they just brought Shadow SPectres into mainline Aeldari
I'm so fucking normal about the new phoenix lord
It would definitely not be allowed on the road though lol
I'm so normal, chat
ive never been like super enthused about shadow spectres tbh, they're neat but im happy with the existing aspects
also we dont have a shining spear phoenix lord do we?
No we do
We are getting 3 "new" ones so this is kinda cryptic. We all know you mean WarpSpider one tho
lmao
Shining Spear PL is missing according to lore
Baharroth is also beautiful tho
And thus has never had a model
It's very funny that karandras will be the last PL to be old and funky
The OG PLs
I'll probably just kitbash him
they should never update karandras
yeah i thought we didn't have one
Looks like ynnari are getting soup rules similar to agents where they get modified drukhari datasheets directly in the eldar codex
rather than take anything away from eldar :) (the ability to complain about range age)
lmao
Karandras is technically the foremost desciple of the Scorpion PL, the actual PL joined the Daemons
Mmmm eldar soup
Well he's the current pl
Very nice for the girlfriend collecting Ynnari
We all know who Drazhar is, don't we chat?
I hear heâs some kind of⌠master blader
I just started adding ynnari to my Aeldari so I hope they include a good chunk of the deldar range still
Drazhar is the PL of Incubi
I got like 3 venoms for $30 at a swap meet I wanna use em
I love that there is an aspect who has never had any real models
Ah I was thinking of shadow spectres
So, there are 26 factions with a Codex/Index (excluding Emproror's Children and the upcomign Death Watch). Do we think some of the factions are not getting a new detachment with the advent calendar thing, and if so which ones?
I'm so happy
I can finally not use ynnead
(I would guess Imperial Agents aren't one. But I am not sure what the other one would be)
Are you including like Blood Angels in the 26 count
Oh, are they giving them the army rule? Or will it mostly be point changes?
Yes. I am including divergent space marine chapters
We know 5 of the 24/30 coming
Because I don't think all divergent chapters will get one
Otherwise there will be less than 24 factions I think
I think it's more likely space marines as a whole get multiple
Did new models drop?
Yeah new Krieg and Aeldar
Yeah, but they claim "From the 1st until the 24th of December, we will be delivering new detachments for each and every faction in Warhammer 40,000. " (emphasis mine)
No drops, only previews sadly
since they share detachments
sick af
Great UI/UX being shown here
Oh, if there are 30 new detachments stuffed into 24 days then the question is who will get extras lol
Where was 30 stated and what are the 5 we know?
There will be 4 for Daemons. They said 30 in the show
oooh, interesting
5th being Deathwatch
arent aeldari direswords meant to be powerful psychic weapons
Ah, so not one for Emperor's children (which is fine of course)
That covers all of them then
https://youtu.be/NmcDMPj7D2o?si=196mTMAJ3EIHoHXd&t=784 Time stamped for the start of the "grotmas" of detachments

6th confirmed one is an AstraMili one
Well, they also say each faction will get one (from the article)
So we know all of them from the the demon 4 plus counting death watch + 25 other factions (not including ECs)
Some more PL discussion: Muegan Ra really do be the most non-Aspect looking of the PLs. Fuegan is borderline with his helemt-"wings" being closer to Dark Reapers than Fragons
me too
Plastic Krieg has been a thing for over a year now
idk how well two main plastic lines of guard who play the same are going to go
not shocked now because it's been leaked for a while but
tbf technically this brings it to 3
cause you can still buy catachan
but also unlike previous iterations the different squads have different rules
it almost feels like kreig are supplanting cadia a bit
Cadia got a huge refresh like last year
rather than just being pretty much aesthetic differences to back up subfaction rule choices
I think that makes it easier to justify GW making them because it makes it easier to convince people to buy them
I wonder if the issue is that they both have "WWI dude" aesthetic but Armageddon's niche is "fully mechanized tank infantry" where Krieg's is "WWI shit"
Guard used to have like 8 model lines with the same rules I think itâll be ok
but yeah I'm surprised gw want to go there with krieg
Art team must like the aesthetic lol
It was 2022
Krieg had FW miniatures for awhile as well right? Longer maybe than the other lines?
yeah
krieg stuff wasn't the first but it was the only one to never be uh
discontinued
their playstyles are very different its the aesthetic that they overlap with
hi penny
Basically last year
Not longer than other lines but for a while
hi skully <3
Theyâre technically the second newest line iirc
Strands of fate isn't gonna be the army rule, we're getting battle focus back!
You better not still be saying "last year" when the codex releases
Oh, by lasted longer I meant were killed off last
Oh i misunderstood
No problem. It is an ambigious phrasing
but yeah dkok are still one the store
Look, everything before the pandemic is an eternity ago, and everything after it is last year
Real
I do wonder if Seer Council might be getting it (or similar) as a detachment rule instead
though a lot of them are sold out online now
I'm kinda happy to see strands of fate go because miracle dice is so entrenched as the sister of battle rule in the 8e+ era that eldar just getting a better version of it two editions in a row sucks haha
Yeah I also don't mean 1:1 of the index rule, but a nerfed version
Is strands of fate going?
So I hear
yeah
Is this from the video or from leaks?
Very likely
Did they say what battle focus does?
Probably move shoot move
That would be incredibly strong lol
I wonder if you could do the strands of fate idea but with something other than dice
it was yeah
Would be neat to tie it into the tactical objectives, but those aren't core rules
I mean a lot of the army already has that due to fire and fade
army wide JSJ
JSJ?
Well, this wonât make people any happier haha this rules
Jump Shoot Jump
last time it existed it had a weird jank restriction that made it harder to jump back into cover specifially
Huh, was that from when it was a mostly a jump pack unit thing?
technically battle focus is older than jet pack infantry
Err, the acronym
At the time pretty much only Battlesuits got it
Not that being able to guarantee 8 damage from a bright lance wasn't already a strong army rule
Or 12 off a fuegan shot
it was the eldar rule, then it was the tau rule, and then they've traded it back and forth for a while
Did eldar have it in 2e/3e or something?
Did they say anything about how they are changing GSC cult ambush?
Huh cool
I have my doubts
when it was the jet pack rule it was mostly battle suits but there was others I think
Good thing the friend who played eldar in my playgroup left to the other side of the continent
like one or two weird exceptions
I wonder if a bunch of old eldar armies are going to go on sale soon
Just making sure. Completely normal?
lmao
With the new warp spiders sculpt I wonder who's the current oldest now
IIRC Dark Angels have a metal character still
Oh yeah, I get that (I think the first painted DKoK mini in a GW publication was a variant Steel Legion mini?)
I'm just saying that maybe the difference in prominence/popularity is just that people who vibe with the "WWI dudes" look, on balance, tend to be more into the "...doing WWI trench and field gun shit" over "doing mobile tank warfare" and so the former got all the fans
Sadly is a reveal show, so more or less only talking about New Stuff
Yep, Ezekiel
In stock on the GW web store too!
Never forget the main purpose of GW is to sell toys
new stuff generates buying hype
I guess I will find out in a couple of weeks either way
WWI aesthetic and then being about mobile tank warfare is a bit weird
Though the tanks were technically mobile in WWI I guess lol
đ¤ what would modern military aesthetics but 40kified look like?
Maybe those really grungy looking NBC suits
True
Elysians
The Darktide scab shooters look pretty "modern" too
lmao, the shades really do it
Elysians are a good ring toss but their aping an aestetic that is pretty niche
Otherwise they'd just be Cadians
Cooler cadians
Yeah theyâre pretty specific
Aquilons look pretty modern too
But I do think there should be more grunge NBC outfits in 40k. Maybe it's more of a chaos or nurgle thing
so wait
are the field gun unit getting more options
or are krieg getting a seperate one that has different options
I think the Aqulions are very sci fi stormtrooper. Except the guy with the beret is very British marine
seperate two
their big one is bigger and their smaller ones are smaller
none of 40k is really modern thoughh
the aquilon gun is pretty m4 inspired
in it's carbine-ness
like cadia is vietnam usa. that's like 50 years ago haha
Oh, that's fair. The helmet choice is what I was focusing on with my comment probably
